4 🌟 Pretty good read, but not interested enough to read the next book

No Magic
I want to first start off by saying I like the Main Character (MC) and the magic system, but the reason you the 3 stars is because you see very little of it. The plot is interesting but for a story about a Archmage the MC barely uses any magic. The most frustrating part is the story also has a mercantile vibe to it and yet the MC has learned zero utility spells to help his money making situation. He know 3 spells and you see them like twice in the book and all they can do is kill things. It’s not a bad plot or story but a horrible book if you picked it up to read about magic and a Archmage.

This one isn't as good as the first. Mostly because of the personality of the main character. I have never enjoyed the personalities of "rogues" that are almost always written the same way. Our hero is not a rogue, he is a mage, but he is so focused on himself, making money, and finding loot that he might as well be a rogue.
this book is becoming more intwined with politics/intrigue and a growing horror of a calamity coming fast.
The big problem with this book, is that after everything he has done to earn enough money to upgrade his spells, he doesn't upgrade them right away. It literally doesn't make sense. He has almost ONE driving force in his life which is to make enough money to upgrade or purchase new abilities, and when he does have enough, he repeatedly says he will do it after...
DUMB.
Anyway, super fast read, finished in two hours.

DNF at 47%
I am really getting sick of the MC'S attitude. His constant mouthing of makes him look like a petulant teenager! His utter irreverance to evis reaching new limits.only an utter moron would use the phrase "Look, pal..." when talking to the head of a mighty noble house, for example.
Ryne is super annoying as well. How could a former street kid who is desperate for money currently don't know the value of money? It makes no sense! The Brand drama grated on my nerves as well, as it was too overdone.

Disappointing
All in all, the story is interesting. But the plot details are silly. There's a son that hates his father with no explanation. A supporting character who spends a lot of time crying. And a main character who does and says things that do not in any way fit the story. If the author is trying to make him seem humorous, it's a terrible effort. If the author is trying to make him seem crass, stupid, sarcastic and unlikeable, he's doing a great job. I'll read the next book and hopefully all those issues will be corrected. 3 stars for a decent plot.

OK story unlikable MC
After reading the first two books of this series, I find the MC thoroughly unlikable. He is self-centered greedy, very little moral compass and just not any kind of character you want to like and root for. I’ve read other books with antiheroes, but they have some sort of redeeming quality. This MC doesn’t, I guess I don’t like the fact that he’s a coward that just totally turns me off. The story itself is interesting and there are some grammatical mistakes but if you like this type of character read this book

horribly written
The MC is an idiot. He had the ultimate cheat code, but instead of taking time to get stronger he allows himself to be constantly distracted. He’s also not very likable. He’s very greedy but too stupid to actually succeed. Also the fights and plot just don’t make a lot of sense.

Poorly written
I have rarely experienced such dumb characters ever. EVERY quest is an obvious suicide mission where the MC is the lowest rank by several levels but still goes, without being paid by the guild. Even the draw of the book the spell upgrade barely happens in this book.

and he was supposed to be a coder
Extremely short book. I can tell there are multiple authors because things don’t match up sometimes. I’m struggling to find a redeeming quality in the mc who is a fool, conceited, stupid, arrogant, creepy, rash, and on and on it goes. His one redeeming quality is that only when absolutely forced to, he’ll tell the truth, at least partially.

i like dynamic
The story is pretty good but these books are a little short. Its a good idea how its shaping up but i think the author needs to make it weekly in their releases or it will have people ignore it until several volumes have been released.

So empty. Almost nothing of consequence happens, the MC usually acts like a moron even though he's supposed to be a fully mature adult, and his sidekick hanger-on is so mind numbingly idiotic it's painful to read.

Short but decent fantasy
Rather short, about half the size of the first book. I rather enjoy the main character's money focused power up system, though we don't see as much use of it as there was in the first book. Looking forward to the next.

A different read, fresh material, gripping storyline,

Couldn't put it down
The first one started off a little slow. But the second pulled me right in. It's up there with Solo Leveling and My Vampire System.

I should have read this series months ago because boy is it good! Book 2 is better than book 1. Intrigue, magic fights, zombies and common sense abound!
