A forbidden Formula 1 romance with twin rivalry, high stakes, and irresistible heat.
LAURA
I need money. Desperately. Becoming the public relations assistant for Formula 1 superstar Noah Winters is my golden ticket. The paycheck—and the bonus—would solve everything. The only rule? Don’t fall for him. Don’t sleep with him. Too bad he’s arrogant, infuriating, and way too hot for his own good. And as if resisting him wasn’t already impossible … he has a twin brother who wants me too.
NOAH
Racing is my life. Winning the championship is all I care about. Until Laura shows up. She’s stubborn, sexy, and driving me insane. And when my twin brother sets his sights on her, I know exactly how to settle our old rivalry. Whoever wins the season … wins her.
FLAT OUT, book 1 in the Pole Position Series, is a slow burn, forbidden Formula 1 romance with twin rivalry, sizzling chemistry, and high stakes. Buckle up and get ready for your next addictive binge read.
First Impressions: Laura, desperate to finally be free of her abusive marriage, takes on a temporary position as a personal assistant, only to find herself stuck between twin Formula One racers, Noah and Finn.
Pacing: The book takes place over a period of 8 or 9 months. It feels a little shorter than that in the book; I could have used some more training sessions and perhaps more time spent with Jason talking about the nuances of the other racers' styles. Also, the book desperately needs an Epilogue.
World Building: To continue with the pacing, as an introduction to Formula One, I could have used some more information about the sport. Sport romances are pretty common, with hockey, soccer, and football being the most common. I've been dying to try out a Formula One romance for months, and just didn't get quiet the high-octane experience I was hoping for. There's lots of good detail in the text, but I found myself needing more.
Character development: Laura (FMC), Noah (MMC), and Finn (MMC's twin) all grow a bit throughout the book without losing their identities. Laura is a strong woman, and as it's noted, it's the kind of strength earns through trial by fire. She learns to trust herself more and finds her voice throughout the book. I enjoyed her realizing that Finn wasn't an obstacle, and really does want to be her friend. Noah finds an outlet for his intense sensual impulses. If this book was written through the lens of B.DSM, his relationship with oftentimes "bratty" Laura would have also worked well. Noah and Finn seem to heal the core of their rift by the end of the book, but I hope we'll see more of that progression in Book 2 (already wishlisted). Normally I don't focus on secondary characters, but Finn is like MMC-Lite, Diet MMC, if you will. Finn is so similar but equally different from his twin. He's intense, but in a different way. He does seem to genuinely want to be good friends with Laura, and I truly believe his intentions are completely altruistic where she's concerned, especially later in the book. I really hope their friendship evolves in Book 2 and that he also finds someone to dote on and love, because he is so deeply protective and compassionate.
Romance: There's a lot of growing pains, hurt, and healing that I wasn't expecting in this book. The depth was a very pleasant surprise. Once Noah realizes that Laura isn't juts teasing or paying hard to get, he seems to do some off-page soul searching. He really learns that not everything is about him, and despite his intensity genuinely tries to give her space. Both Noah and Finn are sweet and flirty in their initial courting, and compassion and patience does eventually win the day.
Spice: Hold on to your butts, Spice Lovers, this is a slooooooow burn. However, the road to get there is worth it.
Errors and Consistency: There are a couple stray errors that a good editor should find before the final release. My biggest gripe is the lack of Epilogue.
Overall experience: This was so fun! Not only is it nice to see a lesser represented sport in the romance sphere, but it was a fun read, too. I'm also a huge fan of a terrible ex getting their just desserts. My biggest criticisms are the weak world building, especially around the racing, and the lack of Epilogue. A new kitten (or two) in a safe, new apartment would have healed that bit of sadness for me, as well as hints for whatever Laura's career holds in store for her next. Also, maybe the recipe for asparagus risotto and the eggplant pasta would have been a nice touch to connect the author to the reader.

Stacy Stone, often dubbed the queen of spice, is undeniably a talented writer who knows how to keep her stories engaging and easy to fall into. Her writing style flows effortlessly, which made me go into Flat Out with very high expectations.
The premise immediately caught my attention: twin brothers, both Formula 1 drivers, competing for the same woman. That already sounds like the perfect setup for tension, drama, and emotional stakes. And in many ways, it delivers on being an entertaining and fast-paced romance.
That said, there were a few aspects that didn’t fully work for me. One of the main issues was the blurb, which in my opinion reveals a bit too much. Knowing upfront that “whoever wins the race, wins her” made it clear early on that a bet between Noah and Finn was coming. I think I would have preferred going into the story without that knowledge, so I could experience Laura’s shock and anger more organically. Additionally, the timing of this reveal felt quite late in the book, which made its impact less effective for me.
Another challenge I had was with the consistency between the characters’ words and actions. At times, what they said or thought didn’t fully align with what they actually did. Because of this, I struggled to feel a strong emotional connection between Noah and Laura beyond their physical attraction. When the love confession came, it didn’t quite give me the emotional payoff I was hoping for. I found myself wanting more visible character growth, more trust-building, and a deeper emotional bond.
Interestingly, I found Finn to be the more compelling character overall, and his dynamic with Laura felt more layered and engaging to me. In contrast, Noah came across as somewhat one-dimensional at times, defined mainly by being a charismatic and attractive Formula 1 driver.
I also noticed some inconsistencies in pacing. Certain chapters felt quite long, while others were very brief, and a few key moments, especially during the racing scenes, could have benefited from more detail and development to heighten the tension.
Overall, I’m a bit conflicted about how to rate this book. It is well-written and undeniably engaging, but for me, it was missing a certain level of emotional depth and tension that would have made the story truly stand out.
That being said, I do think many readers will really enjoy Flat Out. If you go into it without overthinking and simply let yourself enjoy the romance and the ride, it can be a very fun and satisfying read.

I’m officially discovering a new obsession: Formula 1 romance books. 🏁
Diving into Stacy Stone’s newest series felt like stepping straight into the world of F1 and yes i am LOVING Lando Norris currently so being in the F1 world was captivating.
the glamour, the tension, the competition… I was completely immersed from the start. If you love fast cars, chemistry, and high stakes emotions, this one absolutely will knock you on your butt.
And can we talk about the slow burn...because wow. This is the kind of slow burn that simmers beautifully, builds tension with every interaction until. The chemistry unfolds so naturally, making every moment between them feel earned and addictive.
But for me, the standout element had to be the twin rivalry storyline. It added such a friggin unique layer to the romance and brought an extra edge of drama and competitiveness that kept me hooked the entire time. I’m already drooling for more from this series
***trigger warning: there's an animal death and domestic abuse*** This is a very slow slow slow burn. There's chemistry between Noah and Laura and both felt something more but can't act on it due to the focus of Noah's career. And without him knowing about the job clause that Laura accepted in which she can't be involved with him, nor tell him of the clause. Different dramas happen in the book; Laura in dealing with her abusive soon to be ex-husband, and Noah dealing with his twin brother Finn. This could have a potential for more, I rounded up to 4 stars as there's no half points, i'd really give this a 3.5 stars. Why? While there was heated moments between Noah and Laura, it kept getting interrupted! Then out of left field, at the very end, spanks her because he felt she'd be into that, and being into him being the dominant, so it does have a little taste to bdsm. She liked it but they should have talked further on that then get right to it. I think that there were some things the author could have fixed to make this better: be more open with Noah than with Finn, I thought it was wrong of her to be secretive about her past to Noah. It also made it seem she was developing feelings for Finn too. She should have gone to counseling/therapy to handle her former past relationship and the abuse she was dealt with. Just because she thinks the divorce will set her free mean she'll be free of the trauma and emotions she went through, along with the stress. And lastly the death of Laura's pet cat was really not needed. Like how, why did the animal die??? And she didn't want to know what caused it? If author wanted to do that to show noah's supportive/comfort side, they could have just nursed the cat back to health.
I really enjoyed this book! I was excited to read it because I love Formula 1 racing, a good sports romance, and I found the twin trope intriguing. Then I was even more pleasantly surprised when the plot became even deeper than just a complicated love triangle.
I did find myself wishing that Noah’s character had the development of Finn’s character or that instead of doing the complicated twin thing, the qualities of both men were combined into one very developed MMC.
Lastly, while I don’t really need trigger warnings, I think some people would benefit from warnings about the domestic violence and attempted SA. Especially since they aren’t hinted at in the blurb at all.
Overall a good, fun read with a good amount of spice balanced with a good plot!

I have been reading this book as an ARC. Having read her series with Dylan, Colton, Maverick and Phoenix in the spotlights, I’ve had no choice but to do this one. Her writing style is very easy to follow and that’s also what I liked here.
It’s a very lighthearted read and I did enjoy reading it but I also missed some potential depth to the plot. Sometimes it felt a bit too rushed and I didn’t feel as satisfied at the ending as I’d like to be.
This is a book for you when you’re searching for something very lighthearted and a writing style that’s there to comfort you
This is a review of an arc, provided by the author. Thank you Stacy for this opportunity 😀
When I saw F1 I instantly knew I wanted to read it. And let me tell you I’m glad I did cause it was a sweet, slow book.
The chemistry between the MC’s was 🔥. Even though it takes a while 🙈 I liked how the author made someone important for the FMC even if it was hard for the MMC.
If you like following tropes: 👉 He falls first 👉 boss/employee 👉 slow burn
This was a really sweet book! I loved having an F1 themed sports book but I would have loved even more racing in it. There were just a few things off about F1 but only noticeable if you watch a lot of racing. The MCs were good together but it did feel a little rushed. Overall, if you want an easy, sweet HEA, read this one!
I was able to read this before the release, I definitely enjoyed the story I think the tension between the ex was resolved a little faster for my liking. I was hoping Noah was going to get to punch him. But still like the platonic relationship Laura had with Finn. Hoping the twins can resolve their issues in his book.

I am obsessed with F1 and have been since I was little and this book has been done beautifully. This book is such a sweet read and has been written beautifully. The chemistry between the MCs was hot, so hot. Slow but 🔥
