This is one of those books you never expected to be that good. I was prepared for some major angst factor and over the top pity party. But my golly, I'd never seen so many misfits in one book and find the story and the characters endearing and heartwarming. This is a story of trust, friendship, and survival. How these broken teens tried to find solace in each other's company. The author really did a clever and brilliant job in portraying these wonderful characters. I didn't find their back stories overbearing and cliched. They felt sincere and uplifting. The way they battled with their inner demons was very courageous. Lysander's voice was very inclusive and light. In the end, I was filled with these tingly feelings knowing all of them are going to be okay. I am a fan already of Sage C. Holloway.
