I stopped reading when he got out of prison and showed up at the company they both owned... I had to stop because she was still mad at him for killing Todd.... "Todd" who was trying to rape her! "Todd" that sucker punched her stepbrother and she is mad at her stepbrother she is fucking stupid! the End!

What in the H-E double hockey sticks did I just read? First, homegirl is drugged and almost raped by her prom date who was only doing this because his GF was screwed over by her upsetting the grading curve in a class. Homegirl’s stepbrother finds out his plan and races to his step-sister and accidentally ends up killing her prom date.
He goes to jail for 6 years. Comes out and comes home to once again protect his step-sister and step into his role in the family business. She is livid because she still blames him for her ruined prom night.
Homegirl is now engaged to this man child who ran up a gambling debt so high that he kidnaps her and gives her to the people he owes money to so they can ransom her for her family’s money.
Here comes the step-brother again to save her and tell her that he has always loved her. At this point she still thinks that he killed her prom date for no reason, but then learns that her date had actually drugged her. She of course runs to him and leaps into his arms. They have sex. Insert small scene about announcing him as chairman or whatever. Mentions she isn’t sure when she will start showing. End.
Where are her parents? How did he even find her when she was kidnapped? Why is there only one small sex scene? And WHY is there the word BABY in the book title when there is no breeding kink. THE VERY LAST LINE alludes to her being pregnant but that’s it. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Si che questa storia poteva essere sviluppata in un vero romanzo! Ha tutto! Dramma, prigione, il cattivo di turno, la ragazza dolce che diventa forte con il tempo...Tutto questo aveva molto potenziale.
E invece ci troviamo un personaggio come quello di Samuel che più che un salvatore diventa uno psicopatico perché non capisci le motivazione dei gesti verso Lucille.
Sono fratellastri, lui vuole proteggerla, fa fuori uno.. passano anni e uscito decide ancora una volta di cacciare il compagno di lei perché, NON SI CAPISCE UN CAPPERO COME FA A SAPERLO, ma ha dei debiti.
Il finale proprio banale e veloce in 20 righe.
Ma come si fa? Dico io se vuoi proprio scrivere un libro fallo per bene non dando enigmi che un lettore non può risolvere! E le risposte in 20 secondi/righe.

Lucy is the nerd girl who never gets a date. Samuel, the deviant teen who does not get along with anyone.
We are taken through highschool and events that lead Samuel into a 6 year prison term. During that time Lucy takes her place in the family business, one that she was meant to share with Samuel. She hopes never to have to be near him again. He has other plans.
Danger seems to chase Lucy in this novella. I like that Samuel is wanting to be her savior and love that he does it without letting her know how much danger she really was in, it comes off as so unselfish.
One issue I am starting to have though is that the more of these step-brother books I read, the more they all are mirroring each other.

It was a readable short story. It had a strong start but after the prison sentence for me it lacked the same passion. It just lost its believability to me. The characters could have been more defined & story could have been hotter. Just average -sorry

The plot was weak. Jumping one moment to another too fast so we can't see the emotion. The waiting. The story itself pretty good actually but yeah, it was to fast and too short.
