This book right here is the cause of my book addiction!!! It got me hooked on Sadie Kincaid. I listen to the AUDIO at least once a month. Yes, it's that good!!! Now, upgraded, OMFG!! Sadie stoooooooopppp!!!! It's too much!!! I loved these two from the bottom of my heart!!!
I couldn’t put this book down—it completely hooked me from start to finish. The chemistry between Alex and Alana is intense and unforgettable, and their relationship takes you on a wild, emotional ride. What begins as a forced arrangement quickly evolves into something much deeper, layered with tension, vulnerability, and undeniable attraction.
Both characters come from complicated backgrounds and have never truly experienced love before, which makes their journey feel raw and authentic. Watching their walls come down—especially Alex’s—adds so much depth to the story. Alana’s growth is just as compelling, as she begins to see the truth about her past and finds the strength to choose her own path.
The pacing is gripping, the emotions are real, and the twists keep you fully invested. And that ending… absolutely shocking. I’m already counting down the days until the next book. Highly recommend!

This was a fun, simple, somewhat predictable little fic. Nothing groundbreaking, but still enjoyable. I discovered that the book has been revised and published under the name Fierce King. On Kindle it still says LA King, but it's the new content. The audiobook has not been updated, so there are some differences. I put that info below. Even though this ends on what could be considered a cliffy, I didn't plan on continuing. Then I learned something that made me change my mind.
Alejandro Montoya (33, head of mafia) wants political connections to further his empire. He plans to get that by marrying the daughter of a corrupt politician. The on-paper marriage he anticipated goes out the window when he meets his new wife.
Alana Carmichael (25, virgin, socialite) agrees to marry a crime lord, for a term of three years, in order to keep her politician father out of prison. She expects it to be a loveless marriage, but her new sexy husband won't stay away from her.
Alejandro is determined not to fall for his new wife, so he says and does mean things.....
The more sex they have, the more Alejandro falls. Unfortunately, he's a typical man and refuses to let his guard down....
No matter how far they come in their relationship, he doesn't know if he can trust her.....
Prostitutes, homeless shelters, parental issues, false identities, “If you love someone, set them free....”, a test, a meeting in a dark alley, and a HFN with a side of cliffy......
SEX: It's pretty good. Sex in book is at 35%, sex in audio is at 29%. There are no condoms, yay. Considering how short the book is, there's a lot of sex. The scenes are mostly short, but there are a few times that get pretty steamy.
DRAMA: There's enough drama to be entertaining, but it was all resolved so quickly that you didn't get to fully enjoy the angst. He was hot tempered and would start a fight, but she would always respond with something logical and he'd lose all steam. I wish she had put up more of a fight.
FMC: I didn't hate her, but she is naive about some things and she's way too forgiving. For example, he would assume she did something wrong and he'd attack her verbally and she'd tell him the truth and then he'd apologize and she'd forgive him without him actually having to grovel for forgiveness. Like, damn. Make him sweat a little. Don't just give in right away. There were people who took advantage of her, but for some reason, I never got mad at her. It's surprising because I usually hate naive FMCs. Alana is a curvy girl. She's not very self-deprecating, but she does point out that she's not his usual type. Plus, she overhears mean girls who call her fat and it makes her cry. That's understandable.
BATHROOM: I swear, FMCs need to stay the fuck out of the bathrooms!!! Every time an FMC says she's going to the restroom, I know she's either going to overhear someone talking shit about her or someone talking about fucking her man. There's always some sort of confrontation.
CHEATING: On his wedding night, his BFF sends a prostitute to his hotel room. He plans to fuck her, but when she gets naked, he realizes he’s not interested in anyone but his wife. That’s the only time he’s in a compromising situation.
TRIGGERS: Alejandro tortures and murders a few guys. He spanks Alana in a kinky way. There is mention of a non-main character who was raped and murdered. There's also a non-main character who is in an abusive relationship. I haven't read the second book so I don't know if there is anything else that could be triggering.
AUDIO: Even though it’s not a duet, the audio is still good. Gregory Salinas is sexy to me, but his acting could use a little improvement. His female voice is decent. Charlotte Claremont is amazing and her male voice is REALLY good.
CHANGES: As I mentioned, the book has been updated, but the audio hasn't. The book does have a few added details, but none of the stuff was anything I was interested in. There was a short chapter added where he goes to confront her dad about something, but it didn't make the book any more enjoyable for me. Here's an example of some of the minor differences:
Audio says, “I sniffled, as I tried to stop a tear from rolling down my cheek. But it was too late. All of the sudden the tears started falling from my eyes and I couldn’t stop them.”
Book says, “My anger gives way to a sadness so acute and unexpected that I don’t have time to stop it. A single fat tear rolls down my cheek. And now it’s too late. A river of tears runs down my cheeks and I just let them.”
CONTINUE: Well well well. I wasn't planning on continuing with the books any time soon, but I discovered there's a 3rd book set in the future where the daughter of Alejandro and Alana gets into a relationship with Alejandro's right-hand-man. YESSSS. I'm here for that kind of age gap.

As always, Sadie has managed to make me obsessed with her characters! Alejandro and Alana are everything!! I loved reading Fierce King the first time, and the relaunch of LA King was just as fun to read. 🖤
🖤 The plot 🖤
One thing I love in Sadie’s books is the engaging plots! As I was reading, I was hooked and wanted to see where things were going. Alana’s father has sold her off to a Mafia boss. Both of them believe this marriage is a “business arrangement”, but of course, we know better!! 😉😆 The story pacing is well written and easy to read, with a good balance between drama, action and spicy moments (lots of spicy moments actually! 😆)
🖤 The MC’s and their romance 🖤
The romance was definitely a hot one! I loved the chemistry and build up between Alejandro and Alana. Starting off as enemies to lovers, there’s so much tension, and then we slowly start to see the emergence of possessive mafia don Alejandro! 😆 I’m obsessed! The spice was definitely spicing here! 🔥🔥 I also loved how sassy and bratty Alana was (especially re the “no panty” rule 😂)
🖤 Side characters 🖤
My favourite side character was Hugo! I really need more of him 😆 I’m also really intrigued to see what will happen with Lucy! Jax was also really cool, I think I’m ready to forgive him for Alejandro’s wedding present 😳
This book ends on a cliff hanger and I need to know what happens next!!

This duet was one of the original Sadie books that pulled me in to her Ruthless Universe and now the Queen has gone back and given us so much more Alejandro and Alana!
An arranged marriage built on lies is just the beginning for our MC’s.
Alejandro Montoya rules L.A with equal amounts of respect and fear and certainly not love so when a business deal means marrying a spoiled politicians daughter that he’ll never have feelings for he says I do.
Alana Carmichael, however, is far from the pampered and spoiled princess he expected but if her own father would lie about that what else could he be hiding and can Alana ever be trusted.
Alana is one of my favourite of Sadie’s FMC’s, yes she is sassy and can give as good as she gets but it’s the quite ways which captivates Alejandro and breaks down all of his walls just by being herself that I love. Alana’s journey through finding love but also letting the rose tinted glasses come off when it comes to her own family is written so well.
While they initially don’t like one another the chemistry between them is undeniable and wow, wow, wow when the spice hits, it hits!
I cannot wait for the next book because that cliffhanger…

Alejandro and Alana find themselves in a marriage that neither one wanted…and oh the tension is so good!! They definitely clash at first and I loved their banter and chemistry. There are also some great emotional moments too.
He is possessive and a little obsessed and doesn’t understand why… I love how we see his walls start to crumble. Alana is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for. She’s smart and witty and has a heart of gold. The spice between these two is off the charts - we are talking super steamy!
I am so excited for the next book!

5⭐️I love Alejandro and Alana and their love story. I love how their marriage arrangement leads to so much more. I love how they both positively impact each other and you really see the growth of both their characters. The spice was fantastic, because Sadie is the absolute queen of spice and dirty talk. And Alejandro speaking in Spanish when he’s professing his love or being intimate with Alana is everything! Anxiously awaiting book #2 in the series to get to more of their story!

Alejandro and Alana got a new refresh and it’s everything I could have wanted! I like to think of this being the extended version of the original story.
Sadie has always been the queen of spice and I forgot just how hot and heavy these two were! You’ve got the rage filled “I HATE YOU” but can’t get enough of you and the oouy goouy love sick stuff too.
To be honest, I had forgotten the main plot point of this from my last read 2 years ago. It still got me this time around! I am so excited for book 2!

I love a good Mafia arranged marriage and Sadie knows how to write them. Alejandro is the king of LA and Alana's father arranges for her to marry him. Of course, in the beginning, it's not so good. They are opposites and don't get along. As time passes, they see each other more genuinely and grow closer. I loved seeing Alana's character grow and become more confident and independent.

I thought I loved the original book but this relaunch was soo good! I don’t know how Sadie does it! This book reminded me how much I love Alana and Alejandro story

This was the most predictable romance book I've read in a while.

I loved Alejandro and Alana the first time I read them and this new version just enhances their story.
Oh man, Alejandro and Alana. I absolutely loved them. There is just something so good about a mafia man who says he doesn't do love and relationships, falling head over heels for his wife of convenience.
Alejandro was a tough person to crack at first. He was very set in his ways and had a huge misconception of Alana, who was the sweetest person. I really did struggle to like him in the beginning, but he made me fall so in love with him. Alana was a strong FMC and loved testing her limits with Alejandro, which led to some hot spice. She did her own thing and didn't let Aljeandro just walk all over her. They really went through it to get their love story. This is a duet, so they haven't fully got their HEA just yet, but book 1 does end with them happy and a little of an OH crap moment.

Alejandro was a tough person to crack at first. He was very set in his ways and had a huge misconception of Alana, who was the sweetest person. I really did struggle to like him in the beginning, but he made me fall so in love with him. Alana was a strong FMC and loved testing her limits with Alejandro, which led to some hot spice. She did her own thing and didn't let Aljeandro just walk all over her. They really went through it to get their love story. This is a duet, so they haven't fully got their HEA just yet, but book 1 does end with them happy and a little of an OH crap moment.

He will share a bedroom with her, as his wife, but that's it. But her beauty and her spark quickly work their way under his skin. When she repeatedly proves that she is nothing like the woman her father made her out to be, he can't help but want her. When he finds out she has a V Card, he's determined to be the one to take it - and ruin her for anyone else. But his filthy mouth tells a different story, just hidden in Spanish, so she is none the wiser. He didn't want her - but there's no way he can be parted from her now.
This novel is super spicy, with the power balance weighted in his favour at the start due to her inexperience. Boy does she get an initiation! He is very dominant (as befitting his character) - and she is a very willing participant, reclaiming that power with her clear enjoyment in what he wants from her.
This is a mafia romance, so there's some torture and gore - and let's be honest, if you're reading a mafia romance, that's exactly what you expect. It definitely conveys the fact that despite being gooey for Alana, Alejandro is a very dangerous man.
The cliffhanger ending had me totally stunned. Sadie Kincaid is Queen of leaving her readers desperate for more - and hitting the pause button at such a key point in the story that you just don't know how you're going to cope waiting for what comes next. I will just keep repeating that I must be patient, I must be patient...
Whilst I didn't read the original version of this story, it is clear to see that this rework has Sadie Kincaid's mafia romance hallmarks - a power imbalance that sees a pure FMC bring a dark MMC to his knees, an enemies-to-lovers romance that develops into something beautiful, a dash of violence, huge revelations, and a whole lot of spice (with a mouth so filthy that even if you don't know Spanish, you want some of it!). I can't wait for part two of this series!

This is the book that first started my obsession with Sadie. It's a rewrite, and I'm excited that I can sort of read it for the first time again lol!!
Alex and Alana are forced into an arranged marriage, as are many in the mafia world. He thinks she's going to be the typical woman who wants his money and prestige, and, not being interested in women like that, he doesn't treat her the best. Alana is doing what she can with her situation and is far from the usual wife of high society.
Alana is about helping others; she wants to do charity work, and with strict rules, Alex gives her some space to do so. She's caring and kind, and she will fight for those in need. I love the relationship she has with her security detail; he wants to keep her safe, not just because it's his job, but because he cares for her (not in a romantic way - more like a protective brother).
And Alex, oh Alex... he commands a room; he's ruthless, respected by his men, and no one dares to cross him. At first, I hated how he treated Alana, but over time, as he got to know her, my heart warmed with how much he loved and cared for her. He was so possessive and obsessed with her that no one dared even look at her wrong.
Even when these two weren't on the best of terms, you could still sense their amazing chemistry and magnetic pull towards each other. Their insane attraction led to super steamy scenes, which were wonderful and addictive! The way their relationship developed was perfect and never forced.
I've always loved the side characters and was very happy when I found out the other two had their own duet!!!
I cannot recommend this book enough. And the audiobook for the first book was amazing, and I'm assuming this one will be just as good, if not better (it will prob be in duet instead of originally duel)!

I loved Alana and Alejandro the first time, being one of my first Sadie reads…but the revamp was perfection. Seeing it again with fresh eyes was amazing. It stays true to the original story I loved, centering on the arranged marriage of convenience between Alejandro Montoya, the feared "King of LA," and New York's political princess, Alana Carmichael. Then it just kept on giving! Sadie builds on everything with a new freshness to the characters and even more emotional depth. Watching Alana push Alejandro outside of his comfort zone, being the fierce queen she is, while seeing Alejandro fall hard for her, fighting his feelings every step of the way until that feral "my wife" energy finally takes over was absolutely everything. Sadie revamped this story in the best way possible.
There's just something about Sadie's writing that leaves a lasting impression every single time I pick up one of her books. And this one is no exception: it’s clear how much care went into revising this story. She has a way of creating characters that feel unforgettable and relationships you can't stop rooting for. Alana has always been one of my favourite Sadie FMCs, and this version reminded me exactly why. She has fire, attitude and enough backbone to stand her ground, but what I loved most was her softness. It is not just her sass that gets under Alejandro’s skin. It is her kindness, her quiet strength and the way she refuses to become what everyone expects her to be.
Her journey was one of my favourite parts of the book. She enters this marriage trying to protect her family, but along the way she starts seeing the truth about the people around her. Watching her grow, fall in love and slowly remove those rose-tinted glasses was written beautifully.
Alejandro is everything you want from a dangerous mafia hero. Cold, powerful, possessive and absolutely not a man who lets anyone challenge him. He agrees to the marriage because of duty, already convinced Alana is nothing more than a spoiled rich girl he will tolerate from a distance. But she completely catches him off guard.
The tension between them is so good. They begin with mistrust and irritation, but the attraction is impossible to ignore. Their chemistry builds fast, and once it catches fire, the spice is seriously delicious. Alejandro’s filthy mouth, especially when he hides it behind Spanish, just makes him even more addictive.
What starts as an arrangement neither of them truly wants becomes something neither of them can walk away from. Alana gets far more than she expected, and Alejandro finds himself falling for the one woman he never planned to want.

Alejandro is the King of L.A., cold, ruthless and has sworn that entanglements like love will never happen. He is asked to marry Alana to strengthen their business legitimacy by his father and agrees thinking she is just a spoiled socialite who he can avoid. However, Alejandro slowly learns that Alana is not the bride she was supposed to be, she is caring, far from spoiled and cares for those around her deeply.
Alana was forced to marry Alejandro by her politician father, told that he is a ruthless monster and that after three years, she can divorce him and return to her life in New York. As she gets to know Alejandro, she learns there is much more to this man than she was lead to believe and that maybe he isn’t the monster in her life.
When I read Fierce King a few years ago, I loved it but this extended/revised version is even better! Sadie has the ability to suck you into the story and make you feel as though you are part of it. Alana and Alejandro’s chemistry is on fire and once the slow burn hits, it explodes! I enjoyed Alejandro’s intense feelings for Alana and how when he feels he can’t tell her how he feels, he says it in Spanish, so she doesn’t understand. Alana is inexperienced in a lot of aspects of life, having been sheltered by her father and Alejandro allows her to experience passion and working for something that brings her true happiness. Their connection grows and while loving Alana was never part of his plan, Alejandro does not hesitate in admitting his love for her when she declares her feelings for him.
I did however forget about the cliffhanger that Sadie leaves us on in preparation for L.A. Reign and I kept trying to get to the next page. Two cliffhangers this year from Sadie is too much to bear (IYKYK) but it will be worth the wait! I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving an honest review as a show of my appreciation.

I thought I knew Alejandro and Alana from Fierce King, but LA King said, "Hold my whiskey," and completely rewrote the experience. This isn't a simple refresh—it's bigger, steamier, more emotional, and somehow made me fall even harder for these two.
Alejandro Montoya is the King of L.A., head of the Spanish Mafia, devastatingly handsome, filthy rich, and fully convinced his arranged bride is going to be a spoiled mafia princess.
Cue his surprise.
Because Alana doesn't bow.
She doesn't break.
And she definitely doesn't make life easy for him.
Their chemistry? Off. The. Charts.
The tension is delicious, the banter is sharp, and every time these two shared a scene I was mentally screaming, "JUST KISS ALREADY!" ...and then immediately screaming for entirely different reasons once they did. 😏

There are some books you worry won't hit the same the second time around, but Fierce King completely proved me wrong. While I loved the original, this rewritten version feels like the definitive version of Alana and Alex's story. Sadie's writing is so much more polished, and every scene feels like it has a little more impact - you can really tell how much she has grown as a writer over the years.
I absolutely love Alana and Alex together. Alana is fierce when she needs to be, but she's also incredibly caring, and I think that's what makes her stand out. The fact she puts everything into her charity work, and never let's people around her harden her, even when she's thrown into a situation she never wanted, shows she has such a pure soul.
Alex is exactly the kind of morally grey mafia man you just can't resist. He's intimidating, controlling and completely convinced the marriage is nothing more than another responsibility he has to deal with. Watching him realise Alana isn't at all who he expected and then completely lose control where she's concerned, left me so giddy and constantly wanting more; they just complimented each other so well. Their relationship develops in a way that I knew instantly would keep me hooked; I mean who doesn't love an arranged marriage though? Neither of them wants to trust the other, yet the pull between them becomes stronger with every interaction. The banter, the constant push and pull, and the growing obsession literally had me eating through the pages. And then the spice??? Urm excuse meeeeee!! These are just as insane as when I first read Fierce King because boy does Sadie know how to write spice - when it hits, IT HITSSSSSS 😮💨😮💨
I would highly recommend giving this rewrite a read. It's a stronger, more immersive version of a story that was already amazing, and I loved getting to experience Alana and Alex's journey all over again.

I absolutely loved returning to Alejandro & Alana's story! I originally read Fierce King (now LA King) a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with it, so when I heard that Sadie was releasing an updated version, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. And let me tell you, getting to experience Alejandro and Alana's story all over again was everything I hoped it would be and more!
For anyone new to the book, LA King follows Alejandro Montoya, a powerful and feared mafia man who rules LA with an iron fist. In his quest for more power he enters an arranged marriage with his bride being Alana. To him, she's a spoiled princess from New York who's Daddy is a powerful man in congress. But soon he realises that all he's led to believe on Alana is not true, and vice versa.
Alana's been told she needs to save the family with this marriage and is painted a horrible picture of Alejandro. Their first impressions on their wedding day, aren't the best. Our boy Alejandro let's himself down there, but boy oh boy does he make up for it after.
He's intense, possessive, protective, and completely obsessed with Alana in the best way. Beneath all the power and ruthlessness, there's a vulnerability when it comes to her that made me fall for him all over again. He also has a strong aversion to her wearing panties which was giving me life! The rules, punishments and rewards he doles her way are EVERYTHING!
Alana is the perfect match for him, she's strong, determined, and never afraid to stand her ground. She's independent but also so incredibly kind and wants to help others and I think it's when Alejandro see's this, he realises she's so much more than he first thought and actually helps change some of his ways.
While they didn't exactly like each other at first the chemistry between these two is incredible from the very beginning. The tension, the banter, the emotional moments, and the steam all blend together perfectly. Even though I already knew how their story unfolded, I found myself completely invested all over again, unable to put the book down.
Revisiting this story reminded me exactly why it became such a favourite for me and now I want to read the rest of the series.

Alana's been told she needs to save the family with this marriage and is painted a horrible picture of Alejandro. Their first impressions on their wedding day, aren't the best. Our boy Alejandro let's himself down there, but boy oh boy does he make up for it after.
He's intense, possessive, protective, and completely obsessed with Alana in the best way. Beneath all the power and ruthlessness, there's a vulnerability when it comes to her that made me fall for him all over again. He also has a strong aversion to her wearing panties which was giving me life! The rules, punishments and rewards he doles her way are EVERYTHING!
Alana is the perfect match for him, she's strong, determined, and never afraid to stand her ground. She's independent but also so incredibly kind and wants to help others and I think it's when Alejandro see's this, he realises she's so much more than he first thought and actually helps change some of his ways.
While they didn't exactly like each other at first the chemistry between these two is incredible from the very beginning. The tension, the banter, the emotional moments, and the steam all blend together perfectly. Even though I already knew how their story unfolded, I found myself completely invested all over again, unable to put the book down.
Revisiting this story reminded me exactly why it became such a favourite for me and now I want to read the rest of the series.

This was the book series that made me fall head over heels for Sadie’s writing so I was so happy to re-experience Alana and Alejandro’s story once again.
This story starts with an arranged marriage between Alana and Alejandro. This marriage definitely starts on the wrong foot as both our characters have misconceptions about each other. Alana believes that she is entering this 3 year marriage to save her father’s image as Alejandro is holding something over his head when in fact her father basically gave her away to suit his own purpose. On the other hand Alejandro needs Alana’s father’s name to smooth some avenues of his business and he was lead to believe that his future wife was spoilt and completely devoted to her father.
With both of these elements at play the marriage starts off distant, but Alana most certainly spreads her wings and challenges her new husband. Alejandro soon learns that Alana is not the woman he perceived her to be and his cold heart starts to thaw toward her.
Alejandro’s possessiveness and obsession towards his wife has to be my favourite thing, because the mouth on this man and he definitely paved the way in Sadie Kincaid MMCs for me. Alana is strong yet gentle soul, she likes the simple things in life while also giving back to the community. You see it quite clearly the Alana didn’t like the so called charity the high society women of LA were providing and with the experience she gained from her fathers campaign days thus sought out a woman’s shelter and started fundraising for a place she knew needed support.
If you haven’t read this book I highly recommend it because when the walls firmly come down on either side a new power couple in the name of the King and Queen of LA is born🤭

L.A. King will always hold a special place in my heart because it's one of the books that got me completely hooked on mafia romance—and on Sadie Kincaid's writing.
From the very beginning, I was pulled into Alejandro and Alana's story. Their marriage may have started as an arrangement, but watching their relationship evolve into something deeper was what kept me turning pages. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but what really worked for me was the emotional journey they both experienced along the way.
Alana finds herself thrown into a world she never expected, surrounded by secrets and people whose motives aren't always clear. As the story unfolds, she begins uncovering truths that change everything she thought she knew. I loved watching her grow stronger and more confident as she learned to navigate a life filled with danger, power, and betrayal.
Alejandro is exactly the kind of morally gray hero I love reading about. He's ruthless when he needs to be, fiercely loyal to those he cares about, and completely unprepared for the impact Alana has on his life. Watching him struggle with emotions he isn't used to feeling made his character far more compelling than the intimidating kingpin he appears to be on the surface.
The pacing kept me engaged throughout, balancing romance, suspense, family drama, and shocking revelations. Every time I thought I knew where the story was heading, another secret would come to light and raise the stakes even higher.
What I enjoyed most was that the romance never felt easy. Trust had to be earned, mistakes had consequences, and both characters had to confront difficult truths about themselves before they could truly move forward together.
If you're a fan of mafia romance, arranged marriages, possessive heroes, family loyalty, and relationships that develop through conflict and growth, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

As an avid mafia romance reader, this dark romance definitely hit the mark! While Alejandro has a dominant presence wherever he goes, Alana is not a meek woman and truly is the perfect queen for this L.A. king ;)
Their marriage may have started for business, but the connection between these two quickly sparked and took the lead. This story has major tropes like “enemies to lovers” and “arranged marriage” which of course causes tension between them before they even meet. However, I love that we got to see them grow closer at a decent pace so we could still get plenty of couple time throughout the book.
I’m obsessed with these characters by the way! - Alejandro is often described as a devil, while Alana is assumed to be a “spoiled princess”. While Alejandro can be ruthless, he truly does have a nice heart…as does Alana. They are both much more complex and loving than they let others see, and I think that’s what really draws these two to each other. I also loved that we got a glimpse at how protective Alejandro is of Alana before they had truly even spoken yet. It really gave us a taste of what was in store for these two passionate characters!
In terms of writing style - I always love dual POV, especially in a story like this. It was so much fun getting to see inside the minds of these two while they clearly were attracted to each other, but trying to convince themselves that it didn’t mean anything.
