Forgotten Gods

Broken Prince of Ice

Rate this book
Prince Shey is missing.

Erya royal guard Adrian Westergren is “forced” to team up with amorous but annoying dragon Haru to find the lost prince as a favor to the queen of Caspagir.

Adrian was confident Prince Shey had gone off to pout while his ex-boyfriend Rayne got married.

What he found was a twisted conspiracy deep in the heart of Damardor, in which innocent people were being stolen off the streets and disappeared permanently.

There’s a good chance they’ve kidnapped Prince Shey too, along with something much more dangerous.

Nightmares are about to be unleashed that the world has not experienced in centuries.

Adrian and Haru are in a race against time to save Shey, while Adrian fights to protect his heart from a dragon he wants more than anything in the world.

Broken Prince of Ice is the first book in the Forgotten Gods trilogy. This spin-off from the Godstone Saga will include hidden royalty, gods, magic, secrets, danger, angst, forbidden romance, slow-burn romance, friend to lovers, two romantic couples, and a furious fight to keep the world from burning.

I loved the Godstone Saga and was waiting impatient for this one. I am so happy to report that it is as good as the Godstone saga ... and we get more than one book.
But also a cliffhanger on the first one ... which makes waiting for the next one all the more difficult

But let's take a step back:
I knew this would be about Adrian and Haru, whom I loved both in the Godstone saga .... the addition of Shey, let me think shortly: may this be an MMM ... but to be honest, this is much better
(And honesty, can you imagine a dragon sharing his mate *shudder*)

I loved to read Harus voice. He is so different from Drayce, and although he seems so free-spirited and like he doesn't think things through, he is really very patient.

Adrian is great as ever, although I hope he learns to trust Haru completely ... but we are on a good way

Shey is even better than expected. I loved him so much
And Tyche is fun but also interesting and we have a lot to discover there.

So, in all this was a great book and I loved every second of it. Want to listen to it too, so pretty pretty, please let us have an audiobook asap

Definitely one of my favourites this year!!!!

I had high expectations for this book and it met them all. I'm glad I reread the godstone saga before diving into this book. I get the feeling it stands alone well on itself to be understood without reading the godstone saga first, but it will definitely spoil lots of things on it and it's very good and worth reading. And having the story fresh in my mind gave me a lot more ease in locations in events.
Even if we're seeing a whole new location, with Dramador, which previously had been a footnote as "one of the places New Rosanthe had conquered before". And new people. And, as the name of the series suggests, new gods

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Full disclosure, I haven't read the Godstone Saga books, but Broken Prince of Ice has started off brilliantly, and Jocelynn Drake has me screaming for her new spinoff series at the top of my lungs!!

The energy was soooooo sooooooo wild
and I honestly feel like a tornado took me out for a whirl
because my head's still spinning AFTER THAT ENDING OMG!!!!!

Like always, Drake's narrative style was bright and open and not heavy at all, despite all the nods and connections to all the people, places, and events that happened in Godstone. I found myself careening through the chapters, which were a compelling blend of exciting action, endearing MCs, and tons of interesting things happening across multiple POVs, without being overwhelming.

All of the MCS were babes, and their different flavours of intense, sweet and lovable, made every single one of their POVs an entertaining read! Their perspectives were all unique, and I loved how their connection to each other grew from four, semi-disparate entities, into a bonded group of friends who'd survived some horrific things together.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING the teary-eyed reaction I had to the ending action, which is still undoing me as I write THIS!!
It was sooooo exhilarating,
and ALSO hit omgwattttttt?! levels
when certain decisions were made at the end there in order to save everyone!

My heart hasn't calmed down yet, but mostly because Book 1 in Forgotten Gods is over for now
and because it went so hard
What
Do
You mean I'm still wearing that cry-smile-grimace on my face like my sh!t just got rocked!? Be serious rn.

So YES I loved this,
And NO I don't know what I'm going to do with myself between now and August, which is approx. when Mad Dragon of Chaos comes out,
Because Broken Prince of Ice was awesome so I KNOW Book 2 is going to be AMAZING
And I just can't stop wriggling and feeling bereft and needy, because I just want the rest of Forgotten Gods in my hands. right. now! Ahh sooo good!

There are only two possibilities why you’d wanna pick up this book. Either you are a Godstone fan, or you’ve never read Jocelynn’s Godstone Saga. If it’s the first one, yay, I’m so excited for you to read this spin-off! If it’s the 2nd one, please turn back immediately and read the Godstone books. Yes, I know I’ve just added 6 books to your TBR, but trust me, you’ll thank me for it. Also, I’m super excited for you as well. I wish I could read those books for the first time all over again; they are forever on my mind, and one of the best fantasy series I’ve ever read. Also, one of the best MM series. Jocelynn’s books are generally all around amazing!

Also, if you haven’t finished the Godstone books, please do not read any further because this review will contain spoilers for those stories!

Ok, here we go. If you felt at the end of City of Blood (Godstone Saga Book 6) that you wanted more Shey, more Adrian, and more Haru content (like me), you’ll be happy to know that Broken Prince of Ice is just as amazing as the previous books set in this world. (Also, just a side note in case you are wondering: this is NOT and MMM {poly} story). Heartpounding adventure, danger (magical and human), sweetness and heat, humor and brotherhood, heartbreak and sorrow … it’s all in there, just like before. Haru is his usual self, crazy and chaotic, but so lovely, I just wanted to reach into my Kindle and hug him. Adrian is determined… to find Shey and to withstand Haru in general :-) Shey is a magnet for danger and too stubborn to walk away. We were obviously introduced to new characters; they are just as intriguing as Jocelynn’s other ones. I’ll let you discover them yourself. You will not be disappointed, I promise you that! There is danger lurking in Damardor, but soon it seems it is not contained only to this country. To find out who the people with bad intentions are will take more than just this one book. Honestly, it is a blessing since we’ll get a trilogy instead of just this instalment. The wait til the next story will be hard, but don’t wait til then to read it, you do not want to miss out on the boy’s new adventure!

It was easy to get sucked back into the world of Thia with its magic, gods, and dragons. This time Prince Shey was at the center of the adventure, with Adrian and Haru on a rescue mission to find the missing royal in Damardor. Things in Damardor were not what they seemed, with citizens going missing in the night and fear running rampant. I felt Haru and Adrian's desperation in their increasingly urgent search, and when rumors of black sites turned into evidence they couldn't ignore, I knew they were on the cusp of something bigger than they'd realized. Meanwhile, Shey was fighting for his sanity in one such black site, where he made an alliance with a fellow prisoner, Ty, to break out and get revenge on their captors. Much of their time locked away was shrouded in mystery, with neither man understanding what their captors were after or who was pulling the strings. I really enjoyed getting to read from all four men's perspectives, and the pacing was a steady drumbeat keeping the urgency high as they tried to piece the puzzle together. As a reader, I knew more collectively than each duo and I still couldn't figure it out until Jocelynn Drake was ready for me to. Ty ended up being much more than he seemed, and their captors had big ambitions for an army that could tear apart the careful balance in Thia. Shey, Haru, Adrian, and Ty did manage to reunite and take out some of their captors, but they also set some things in motion that have me terrified about where the next book is headed. I was pleasantly surprised by how heated Haru and Adrian's romance was throughout the book, and I have an inkling of where Shey's heart may be leading him that I can't wait to start unpacking. All in all, I thought this was a fantastic start to a new adventure and I'm already 100% invested in seeing it through to the end!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Shey Thrudesh-Vo, the Crown Prince of Caspagir, was running for his life in the back alleys of Bellville’s seediest neighborhood. He had come to Damardor to investigate the disappearance of a large numbers of the country’s citizens seemingly snatched off the street. He realized he should have headed for the border as soon as his two bodyguards were killed but when he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and the world turned black he knew he had waited too long. Waking up in a dank prison cell did nothing to improve his mood and he couldn’t detect anyone else in his cell block. So he jumped when a voice spoke from the cell next to his. He knew he needed to break out, hopefully with the help of his cell mate, but he had not gotten the information he came for although he felt that he was much closer. He was also not aware that his mother the Queen had reached out to King Caelan of Eyra for help in location her son. Cael’s cousin Haru was visiting from the Isle of Stone, so the King decided to send Haru off with Cael’s Royal Guard Adrian to fetch the wayward prince. Avoiding Rayne and Eno’s wedding was petty but he had been missing too long to attribute it to pouting. Haru and Adrian showed up at the prison just after Shey and Ty escaped in dramatic fashion, but the rescuers were still able to take out the guards who had just caught up to the pair of escapees the next day.
Broken Prince of Ice is the first book in the Godstone Saga spin-off, Forgotten Gods. Both series are a mash up of PNR urban fantasy, with Gods, magic, greedy bureaucrats, cell phones and cars. And did I mention dragons? Especially one very amorous one who will stop at nothing to win the heart of “His Adrian”. BPI may be read as a standalone, but it will certainly be a bit confusing if you have not read the first series and probably the cause of some four start reviews. Like the Godstone Saga, Forgotten Gods promises to be very entertaining.

I have been waiting for this spin-off ever since I read City of Blood in the Godstone Saga series two years ago!! And it’s finally here!! 🎊🎊

Broken Prince of Ice was such an easy book to fall into. Returning to the world of Thia felt exciting and familiar at the same time. The mix of magic, gods, dragons, and modern technology is what made me fall in love with the first series in the first place. As the start of the Forgotten Gods trilogy, this book expands the world nicely while putting more focus on Adrian, Haru, Shey, and Ty (new character). While it can technically work as a standalone, I think those who already know the Godstone Saga will get the most out of the story, since there are a lot of connections and returning characters throughout it.

While I’m not always the biggest fan of multiple POV structures (GoT was tiring as hell), it’s one of the things I enjoyed most in this series. All of the characters are equally compelling, and the story gets you invested in them very quickly.
The story shifts between Adrian, Haru, Shey, and Ty, and each perspective brings something different without making the book feel cluttered. There is always something happening, but it’s easy to follow and never feels overwhelming. As always, Jocelynn Drake does such a great job balancing action, mystery, humour, romance, and emotional moments... it’s no wonder she is my one-click author. ❤️❤️

I fell in love with Haru and Adrian, separately and together, from the first time I met them in the Wings of Fire. ❤️🥰 Haru continues to be endearingly entertaining with his chaotic energy and very obvious dragon instincts 🤭. His interactions with Adrian are always some of the lighter moments in the story, and their banter... man, I love their banter!😊...was genuinely fun to read. Poor Adrian is trying so hard to fight his feelings while constantly failing to hide them. 🤭

Then there is Shey. 🥰 Our capable, stubborn, surprisingly resourceful, and good-under-pressure Caspagir prince. His chapters carry some of the darker moments in the book, especially as the mystery surrounding the disappearances in Damardor starts unfolding. There is also a new character, Ty, who is a really interesting and intriguing addition, and I’m looking forward to getting to know him better. 😊

The world of Thia is still as fascinating as ever. And even while juggling multiple storylines and a large cast of characters, Drake’s storytelling keeps everything moving smoothly.

The ending definitely leaves things in a messy and tense place. I’m still slightly traumatised from the Wake the Dead cliffhanger (two years later!) 😅, and although this one is definitely not that bad... it brought back similar feelings. It really gives the sense that much bigger problems are still coming... oh, my poor boys! 🥺

The only bad thing about this book is that I now have to wait to find out what happens next to our boys! August can’t come fast enough! 😄

My review

🌕🌕🌕🌕

I really like this author, and even though I don’t remember the Godstone saga, this book can stand very well on its own. Haru is adorable, I love him to pieces. I really liked how he still thought and behaved as a dragon, just in human form, it made him more relatable in part, and I think it allowed Adrian to finally let go of his misgivings and fall in love with him. I enjoyed seeing the POV from all three characters, giving a depth to the story that might be lacking otherwise, as well as setting things up for the next books. Shey is pretty amazing, I was surprised at how resourceful he is. I guess I’m used to spoiled, useless princes, but Shey isn’t one of them, and it was refreshing and fascinating. I really enjoyed the banter between Adrian and Haru. It’s interesting how hard he’s fighting against his feelings, but they keep peeking out whenever he talks to Haru. I wanted to throttle him at times and tell him to just go for it, but given the circumstances, it’s understandable. It’s a bummer that things get so messy at the end, and there seems to be more trouble ahead, but they are really enjoyable characters, so I’m looking forward to reading the next ones. I really liked the balance between magic and tech, it was fun to be immersed in a world such as this. I am looking forward to book 2, that’s for sure.

I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.

When Prince Shey goes missing. Adrian Westergren, along with annoying dragon Omari Haru, is tasked with finding him. Adrian is sure he is pouting because his ex just got married. That opinion is changed when they arrive in Damardor to discover that his guards have been found dead and there is no sign of Shey. They quickly learn all is not well in Damardor. Innocent people have been disappearing, never to be seen again. Adrian and Haru are convinced that Shey has been kidnapped and it is related to the missing persons. Little do they know but some nightmares are about to be unleashed and they must hurry.

It would be hard to write something as wonderful as the Godstone Saga, but Broken Prince of Ice is just as amazing. The main characters are phenomenal. Haru is incredible. He is sweet, kind and just a bit jealous. Adrian continues to be competent and caring while trying to protect his heart from Haru. Shey is in a bit of a different situation with no backup, but he finds his own. Tyche is new - quite intriguing and very promising. The scene is set to save the world but first our heroes must save themselves. There is a cliff hanger but that just makes the story more tantalizing. Be sure to pick this one up if fantasy, incredible heroes and all sorts of adventures are your thing.

Wow, just wow, what an amazing story, I binge read it all through the night. I couldn't put it down. I hadn't read The Godstone Saga series first, and this can absolutely read stand alone. I did miss having some background information on Prince Shey, Adrian and Haru, but even without that, it was fairly easy to follow the clues and get into the story. And what a story it is. Jocelynn Drake is such a talented author, she really brings the characters to life. The story had me on the edge of my seat. It has so many twists and turns, I felt I was in a rollercoaster. So much fun! And then there is the concept of all those Gods and the magic they shared with certain humans. I've never read anything like this before. Especially the coffee-snob God of Luck had me in stitches. This highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a touch of romance combined with a good dose of action, suspense and adventure in a fantasy world. The story is light on romance, nail biting exiting and fast paced. A real pleasure to read. Please note, the story ends on a strong series cliffhanger and continues in the next instalment.

First in series (Forgotten Gods). Spin-off from the Godstone Saga series. Fantasy.
Found family. Multiple POV’s.

With a devoted dragon by his side, royal bodyguard Adrian is sent by his king to find their mutual friend, Prince Shey. But Shey is captured investigating missing magical people and finds an unlikely ally in a fellow captive.

A new set of couples and another action packed adventure set in the world of Thia first introduced in the Godstone Saga. All the main characters are interesting, and you do get a good description of their backgrounds and motivations. I was super invested in their mission, loyalty, strong sense of morality, and how they interact with each other was so entertaining. Adrian and Haru are further along in their budding relationship, and the possessive dragon with the capable magically blessed human were so fun to read. With Shey and Tyche we really see the beginning of a friendship that has romantic interest as a possibility and I look forward to seeing them grow together as the series continues. Absolutely compelling story and writing, with characters to root for, plenty of action, this was a fantastic start to a new series.

We are back and this story starts where City of Blood ended. It is a spin-off but you won‘t really understand the story and the characters and their background without reading the Godstone Saga books first. Be aware that this is an ongoing story so the book does end with a cliffhanger.

The search of a missing prince brings Adrian and Haru in close quarters and I love how Haru uses every opportunity to ensure Adrian understands how important he is for Haru, these two can be sweet together when Adrian is not too busy ensuring Haru is not getting away with mayhem.

We learn that there is quite a lot more to the gods than in the first series described and the danger anyone with magic is now facing. Shey is caught in the middle of it and with the mysterious Ty and aided by Adrian and Haru, is trying to find out what is behind all of it.
Haru‘s steadfast believes in Adrian are hopefully what will help when danger puts Haru into a peculiar position.

Like in the first series we have two couples whose stories are told simultaneously. The world building is good and I can‘t wait for the next installment.

Oh Wow! After the last Godstone saga book (please read, superb) I was so excited to return to this world, and this book absolutely delivered. Adrian and Haru’s dynamic was everything I hoped for, full of tension, banter, loyalty, and that slow-building emotional connection that keeps you completely invested. Haru especially stole so many scenes for me. Beneath his playful, flirtatious personality, there’s so much patience and heart, and I loved seeing Adrian slowly let his walls come down around him.

The mystery surrounding Prince Shey’s disappearance pulled me in immediately, and the darker conspiracy element gave the story a much heavier, more dangerous edge than I expected in the best way. Between the kidnappings, ancient threats, political tension, and hints of larger secrets still to come, the stakes felt huge the entire time.

I also ended up loving Shey far more than I anticipated, and I’m incredibly curious to see where the story goes next. The world-building continues to be rich and immersive, and the balance between fantasy, danger, humour, and romance worked perfectly for me.

That ending though… i need the next book.

I received a free arc and this is my honest review

CW: kidnapping, torture, secret prisons, murder (on-page)

Note: I apparently totally missed that Jocelynn Drake had a new series (so I have read this one but not the previous series-- whoops!)

TLDR: An impressive 4 POVs wound together to create an engaging tale of love, espionage, AND DRAGONS!

Adrian and Haru have one job: find and extract Prince Shey after he goes missing. However, Shey has found a dangerous conspiracy of potentially magical people being kidnapped off the street and may not survive until rescue...

I enjoyed this book! It did have spoilers for the previous series but I found the book functioned pretty well as a standalone. The plot was well-crafted and each POV had a distinct voice. Usually with so many points of view there is inevitably one that you want to skim, but that was not the case in this book! I also appreciated that while many of the women in the book fit typical roles (mothers etc.,) they didn't feel like they solely existed as plot points for the men (this is a huge issue in MM!).

I am definitely going to go back to read the previous series in preparation for the next book!

“Broken Prince of Ice” by Jocelynn Drake is the first book of ‘The Forgotten Gods Saga’ series and centers around the search for missing Crown Prince Shey, who has infiltrated another country. Guard Adrian and dragon Haru combine forces and discover that the world is continuing to shift as other powers come into play, and evil may prevail.

This fantasy gay romance is connected to the ‘Godstone Saga’ series and would probably be best appreciated if one has read those stories. Unfortunately, I don’t have familiarity with those adventures, so I was a little overwhelmed by my introduction to all of those characters, and I was a bit confused about all of the minor gods, god-touched, formerly imprisoned gods, and their respective followers. Despite those handicaps, I enjoyed the story, especially because I am fond of dragons, and Haru was very entertaining in both of his forms. This is a nice introduction to a new series, and I will have to learn the histories of these intriguing characters so I can better appreciate the action.

I hadn't read the Godstones series and so I approached this book with some trepidation, but in fact that didn't matter too much, as the plat to the story was relatively easy to follow but there is enough background and world building that fans of the God stones saga will love this new series.

There are four main characters in this book and they all had differing voices, snark levels and personalities which all came through, which is nothing that I wouldn't expect from this author. The pacing of the story is good and there is action throughout so once I started this book, really started it I found it hard to put down which ment reading long into the night to finish it.

As this is is an ongoing series and none of the characters get their HEA there is a bit of a cliffhanger ending but enough intrigue to keep the readers wanting more, including me, so much so that I have already preordered the next book in the series just so I don't miss its release.

I would recommend this book, series, world to anyone who enjoys lots of adventure, magic, dragons and Gods.

I had been waiting for this book for so long, so I was really happy to finally read it! Returning to this world felt both nostalgic and exciting.
This story follows Adrian and Haru on their mission to find and rescue Prince Shey. I already liked Adrian in the previous books, but this one made me love his character even more. Haru was also such a fun addition! I really enjoyed the balance and chemistry between them.
I was especially happy to see more of Shey and his journey. He quickly became one of my favorite characters, and I’m glad he finally gets a chance at happiness. I’m also very curious to see where the story goes next, especially with the relationships that are starting to develop.
The book has everything I love about Jocelynn Drake’s writing: magic, danger, emotional moments, and characters you can easily grow attached to. Overall, this was a really strong start to the Forgotten Gods series, and now I already need the next book.

In this first book, we will meet (again) Adrian Westergren, an Erya royal guard, and Haru Omari, King Caelan’s cousin from the Isle of Stone. They were sent to Damardor to find Prince Shey after the Queen lost contact with her son. It just so happened that they lost him while Rayne, Prince Shey’s ex-boyfriend, got married to Eno.

What Adrian and Haru thought was just a sort of a “tantrum” of the Prince turned into something sinister when they found out that a lot of people have been taken off the streets of Damardor to never be found again. And it seemed like Prince Shey is one of those people. Adrian and Haru have to race against time to find the Prince because they have been hearing rumors that a lot of people indeed have been disappearing for reasons they don’t know yet.

I am so excited for the adventure that is about to unfold from this spinoff series. Thank you Ms. Jocelynn Drake for bringing this world again.

What an incredible start to this spin off series!! I already knew I was going to love returning to this world, but this completely exceeded my expectations. It’s like coming home to urban fantasy, magic, royalty, danger, forgotten gods, dragons - and it all has that same addictive feeling that made the Godstone Saga impossible to put down. But this series feels fresh too, with the focus shifting onto the minor forgotten gods and all the new mysteries surrounding them.

And HARU 😭🥹 I am obsessed with his dragon possessiveness over Adrian. The constant “my Adrian” and “my mate” absolutely melted me every single time. He’s powerful and dramatic and completely gone for Adrian in that very dragon way that is both hilarious and deeply romantic.

Meanwhile Adrian is trying so hard to stay sensible (grumpy) while being completely doomed by one very determined dragon 😂

And Prince Shey?? Still as cool and handsome as ever. I was SO happy to see him again.

I also loved getting the multiple POVs again, it gives the story that same sprawling, immersive feeling as the Godstone books.

This book has:

* a powerful prince, a grumpy royal guard, a chaotic god and a deeply devoted dragon
* “my mate” possessiveness
* urban fantasy with modern tech + magic
* royalty, danger, and gross bad guys
* forgotten gods and ancient powers
* forced proximity
* slow-burn romance
* multiple POV storytelling
* found family energy

This honestly feels like coming home to a beloved world while still opening the door to something entirely new. I’m already so invested in where this series is heading and I desperately need more 🥹

The search for Prince Shey sends Haru and Adrian off on an adventure in search of him. The prince was looking for information about some missing magical people and he stayed too long in a place that was dangerous which resulted in his capture and being held prisoner. His mother reaches out for an assist and in go Haru and Adrian and a lot happens as they search for the missing prince. Along the way the relationship between Adrian and Haru develops as they work their way through the twists and turns that are a part of the journey to find Shey. For Shey and his fellow prisoner Tyche we see the potential for something developing but for now a friendship as they continue on this adventure. This is just the start of this story and there appears to be more story on the horizon. I am here for it!

Broken Prince of Ice is the first book in the Forgotten Gods series. This is a spinoff series of The Godstone Saga series which I haven't read yet but will now. With saying that, this book can still be read as a standalone and sets up the Forgotten Gods series very well. This is the story of Adrian and Haru. I couldn't put this book down once I started it. The characters and world building are outstanding. This was a rollercoaster ride of action, adventure, suspense, and romance. I loved the concept for this book and loved learning about the forgotten gods. This was just another amazing story by Jocelynn Drake. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.

It's been a few years since the last Godstone book, but the author does a nice job inserting prior activity reminders into this story. Caelan, Drayce, Eno and Rayne even make brief appearances via phone calls.

The story is told from Adrian, Haru, Shey and Tyche's POVs. As usual, there is a LOT happening. And, so far, there are a lot of bad people, with quite a few of them getting what they deserve. Luckily, the guys have some Luck and skills on their side, even though nothing is simple for them, as Adrian and Haru search for Shey. Since it is a trilogy, there is a cliffhanger ending.

I quite enjoyed the interactions between all of the guys. And the G-squad is a hoot! I'm looking forward to the next books.

I don't recall any proofreading issues in the ARC.

Oh my giddy aunt.....back to this amazing world the author has created !! I will say this - you will need to read the first series, Godstone Saga, to understand the characters & world building ('tis a grand epic adventure !!!)......and this story pretty well continues on from previous series. Loved that we are getting to know more about Adrian, Haru & Shey .....plus a new character, Ty. Story is told from all 4 POV's ...but you don't get lost at all. Story flows seamlessly with great world building and character interaction with plenty of action, heart-felt moments and those silly little interactions which are quite funny & sweet..... I couldn't put the book down. Brilliantly storytelling - no spoilers here, just a message to say "go read this book !!!".

Since reading the last book in the Godstone saga, I've been dying for this book to come out and it didn't disappoint! Shey, Haru and Adrian were characters I fell in love with before but this book gives us the chance to read from their perspectives. There's so much to enjoy; the non-stop action, Haru's love and affection towards Adrian, the introduction of Ty, the beginnings of chemistry between Ty and Shey, the return of familiar characters and exploring more of Thia. You name it and this book had it. It hooked me in and I read the entire thing in a day because I just couldn't put it down. With the ending, I can't wait for book 2 to see what these guys face next!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I was so excited to read this as I love the Godstone books and I was not disappointed. Adrian and Haru are off on an epic adventure in search of Prince Shey, who is missing. This is a fantastic start to a new saga with Gods, monsters (mostly of the human variety), new friends and old. Jocelynn has built upon the world she created for Godstone and added some great new characters to those we already love as well as a detailed plot that was clever, but still easy to follow. It was lovely to catch up with Adrian and Haru and see the start of their romance and I can't wait to see what happens next with Shey.

5 Glowing Stars!!!

Wow… This is an amazing start for a spin off series. I loved the Godstone Saga Series and I’m already loving the start of this series even though it ended in a cliffhanger… UGH… It was nice to read more on all this crew, family and friends new and old. They’re all great characters, Haru he’s growly protective self over Adrian, their story, finally! Adrian so serious and loveable but can have fun ;) . Poor Prince Shey and Ty what they went through and other people and what they had to face, gah… The story was so suspenseful and heart-stopping, sweet and funny, so very good! I need next book ASAP!

This was an enjoyable story. Jocelynn Drake story building is fantastic. I really enjoyed the Godstone series and this was an amazing continuation. Could you read this on its own -yes. Would I recommend it - no. 1. the Godstone series was fabulous and why wouldn't you want to read it. 2. It provides great context as you walk into this series. However, Drake builds this world on its own. I struggled to remember parts of the Godstone series and was provided enough context to enjoy this story. I love that there are four main characters. It's a different spin then what I am normally used to reading so it was great to immerse myself in this world. Looking forward to more.

This is the first book in the Forgotten Gods series, which is a spin off series from the Godstone Saga. This is the story of Adrian and Haru. You will find action, Suspense and Romance.

I love this Author. The writing style, the story building, the details. So yes, I loved this book too. I haven’t read the Godstone series and I wished I had read that first.

Be aware this book ends in a cliffhanger, and it will be a few months until the next book.

o Dragon, royalty, forgotten gods,
o secrets, danger, angst,
o forbidden, slow-burn, friend to lovers,
o two romantic couples,
o Possessiveness, Forced Proximity,
o Multiple POVs, Found Family, Mates.

Yes, you can start here for this series on its own, but I cannot recommend enough the Godstone Saga first! Worlds, characters, familiarity just builds it up! Here Adrian has to work with a dragon, Haru, to save a prince. This first episode as I will call it sets our stage and romance to be. I am loving the challenges and secrets being thrown their way. But of course, the underlying humor and getting to know each other phase is in full force. I adore these same couple series. So much room for growth, romance and world problems!
