Knight’s Storm by Katie Reus
Sanctuary Falls series #1. Romantic suspense. Multiple POV’s.
Someone is making Berkley Knight’s life very complicated. Yesterday she woke up in a strangers home, not knowing how she got there. She finds a dead man, covered in blood. She doesn’t know who he is, but with no blood on herself, she knows she didn’t kill him.
That was yesterday.
Today, the same thing! Another house, another dead man. But this time she knows the man. What is going on?

A new series! So exciting.
Imagine waking up in a strange place and finding a dead man in the home. Want do you do? Would you have the resources to ensure the police don’t pin the murder on you?

Wonderful characters and compelling read. Where can I get a smiling dog like the one in this story? I don’t want the murder problems tho!
Fantastic romantic suspense.
Thrilling ride.

I love Romantic-Suspense! I am never quite satisfied with a Romance book that doesn't have even a small suspense/mystery element in them and I'm not a fan of Suspense/Mystery books that don't have a romance element. But I demand that the plot and characters must be substantial and feel real. It's a hit or miss a lot of the time and I'm left unsatisfied with the book I read. Not so with Katie Reus. She is a marvelous author who can blend all those elements into a well-crafted plot.

Berkley Knight is the family Wild Child. She has tried to live down her wild youth, but in a small town it's hard to do. On top of that she divorced a town saint and that put her in deeper with public opinion. A year ago, when she met a guy she really clicked with and he ghosted her, she decided to concentrate on her business and give men a pass.

Nick Storm felt a real attraction to Berkley but when her ex-husband, a man he admired, shared some not flattering things about her, he decided to give her a pass. Nick didn't need that kind of complication in his life.

When Nick and Berkley meet again, he is cold and distant, and Berkley is steamed that a job she really wanted is not going to happen due to this jerk. That is just the beginning to Berkley's really awful week. The next morning, she wakes up in a strange house with a dead man. She runs, but it happens again and this time the dead man is her ex. Her brother can't help this time. Someone is out to frame Berkley for murder, and it is someone who knows her.

Nick's sister, Clover, is livid at the way he treated Berkley and Nick knows he was a jerk and that maybe the ex had an axe to grind. He knows he has to make thing right with Berkley, but now she is a suspect in a murder case. Nick knows Berkley is innocent and together they have to find the real killer and keep her alive. While Nick can protect Berkley from a murderer, he can't seem to protect his heart and losing her is something Nick isn't going to do.

My thanks to the Publisher, and Author, for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

I felt so bad for Berkley in this one. From her meeting with Nick at the start, to all the bad luck she ended up in. It was only through her fear and smarts that she didn't have worse luck for a couple of the situations. Also, I immediately knew Nick was told a lie at the start, you could tell that what he heard came from a scummy person.

I loved how Berkley's family rallied around her and did what they could to protect her, even the sister that probably should have stayed away. There were close ties there, as witnessed when Berkley took the sister's family to task for their inattention. Nick and his sister had those same close ties and it was great when Clover called Nick out on his actions as well. That seemed to make him change his mind about Berkley and just in time too, because she suddenly needed all the help she could find. It was fun to see things change between them.

I was stunned with the drama towards the end, stunned at who the bad guy was and while they totally got what was coming to them, they also got off a bit too easy as well.

It was nice to see how things ended for Berkley and Nick, a new start in a place they both loved.

Nick and Berkley😍

Knight’s Storm is the first book in the new series Sanctuary Falls by Katie Reus and is not to be missed🙌

Berkley is divorced and trying to move on with her life, when she bumps into Nick and gets hopeful about possibly starting to date again…but nothing eventuates from this. When she suddenly finds herself in a home she doesn’t recognise along with a dead body, she does the opposite of what most people would do. But when this happens a second time, but she finds herself in her ex-husband’s house, she knows the stakes have been raised😳

Even though this story was well plotted and absolutely no hints given throughout about who could be trying to land Berkley in trouble with the law, I pieced together who was responsible but only a partial motive. Otherwise I loved it and I’m excited to see who’s story is next😁 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️‍🩹

I read all three of Katie Reus' books from the Holiday With A Hitman series for Christmas last year and loved them all, so when I saw Knight's Storm on NetGalley yesterday, I applied straight away. And as soon as that approval came in, I binged it!

Knight's Storm is a fast paced, small town romantic suspense and it's full of twists and turns in the plot. I really liked the set up for future books in the Sanctuary Falls series too. The third person POV mainly focused on FMC Berkley and MMC Nick, but also moved to some of Berkley's siblings. Although those shifts moved the story forwards, I think I wanted to see more of Berkley and Nick together during the 250 pages, and I definitely could have seen him do some more grovelling!

I really enjoyed the story though and will be picking up the second book to see what will happen next in Sanctuary Falls!

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley but this is my voluntary and honest review.

I will definitely be reading the next book in this series! I loved all the characters and relationships but the beginning of the story was kind of slow. All the romance and action was toward the end. There also wasn’t enough clues and information throughout the story to try and guess who the murderer was.

A Powerful and Action-Packed Start to Sanctuary Falls

Rating: 5/5 Stars (Wonderful!)

"Knight's Storm," the first installment in Katie Reus's Sanctuary Falls series, is an absolutely wonderful read that grabbed me from the very first page and held me captivated until the end. If you're looking for a book filled with compelling characters, excellent storytelling, and non-stop action, this is a must-read.

One of the standout aspects of "Knight's Storm" is its brilliant character development. The author has crafted individuals who are not only engaging but also feel incredibly real and layered. Their motivations, struggles, and strengths are expertly woven into the narrative, making it easy to connect with them and become invested in their journey. The dynamic between the characters is palpable, adding depth and emotional resonance to the fast-paced plot.

Beyond the characters, the story building in "Knight's Storm" is truly exceptional. The world of Sanctuary Falls is meticulously constructed, creating a rich and immersive backdrop for the events unfolding. Reus's ability to create a compelling and intricate plot, filled with twists and turns, ensures that there's never a dull moment. The pacing is expertly handled, balancing moments of intense action with crucial character interactions and plot progression.
And speaking of action, this book is absolutely packed with it! From thrilling sequences to heart-pounding suspense, "Knight's Storm" delivers excitement at every turn. The action is not just for show; it actively drives the plot forward and reveals more about the characters and their world.

In summary, "Knight's Storm" is a triumph. Katie Reus has delivered a powerful and engaging read that excels in every aspect—from its great characters and compelling story building to its constant flow of action. I was truly hooked from page one and can't recommend this book highly enough to anyone looking for an exhilarating and satisfying read.

Aptly named Knight’s Storm is the kind of story where two people that had no idea they were perfectly made for one another finally get the chance to find out that passion, danger and fear can all lead them to their love story even in the least likely of places. Berkley and Nick’s chance at love could easily have been stolen from them by a vengeful comment from one scumbag, but circumstances lead them right where they were always meant to be. The danger Berkley finds herself suddenly wrapped up in puts her and all her family and friends right in the crosshairs of a deadly game that she never knew she was part of. When she tries to protect those she loves, she ends up putting herself into more danger, but in the end the love and trust that she has found in the arms of the least likely person allows them both to survive the sociopath stalking them. Nick had no idea that when he finally found a way to apologize to Berkley for his idiot assumptions it would be in the form of protection from a killer, but he’s more than willing to do whatever it takes. And spending time with her, proving to her that they can have a future and are good together, is certainly no hardship for him either. The passion between these two was accompanied by self-deprecating laughter, sweet tenderness, and of course the acerbic family connection that only a member of a big family can appreciate. I am very much looking forward to the next story (Knight’s Obsession) where we will see another Knight sibling get his chance to convince a stubborn woman they are meant to be together. Ms. Reus definitely has another kicked off another great series that I can see keeping our attention for many years to come.

Knight's Storm

Oh wow! What a play on the title! Love it! This story is about Berkeley and Nick. When they first met, it seemed like it was love at first sight but then Berkeley's ex got into Nick's head and he basically ghosted her for a year. What happened to Berkeley was very horrifying when she found herself in a dead man's house. She was then found in her ex-husband's house after he was killed. Someone was trying to frame Berkeley for those murders. As we go along in the story, we see Berkeley and Nick fall in love with each other. The killer was someone we certainly did not expect. It was pretty much a total shock for everyone. Glad the bad guys were taken care of and this couple are getting their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Katie! I would recommend this book!

omg a new series by one of my favourite authors and this one doesnt disappoint

when berkeley wakes up with her head banging she doesnt really know where she is.... shes awake but not sure why she is on the floor....

once she finds out her predicament is serious she high tales it out of the house to her brothers for help because she cant answer why she was on the floor of a dead mans house or who he is and with her reputation the police wouldnt believe her.....

the history between berkeley and her new client nick storm wasnt going well... for some reason unknown to berkeley he had become very cold towards her....but she would put her job first

so going out for a meal with nick though not planned possibly could help them get to know each other so that their work wouldnt be awkward....

what berkeley hadnt expected was to enjoy the evening with nick what she hadnt expected was yet again waking up again on the floor in her pjs in a strange house well not so strange her ex husbands place knowing she had gone to bed in her own house....

what ever was going on....

ohhhh man this one held me gripped till the end... what a storyline and who wouldnt love sunshine the dog... i cant wait for the next instalment of this series as i feel its gonna be a good one...well they normally are from this author

also would like to thank the author in exchange for an honest review of this arc... bring it on i say

Katie Reus has written a fantastic story with Knight's Storm to begin her new Sanctuary Falls series! Berkley Knight doesn't understand what's going on with the craziness surrounding her life. One night she's out with friends then heads home, the next minute she wakes up in a dead man's home! She has an amazing family to help support her through this mystery but the problem is when it happens again! Enter Nick Storm, a great looking guy that she had thought she was interested in but his surly attitude towards her has changed her mind about that. Nick Storm has some issues towards women and his sister recently called him out about that. Now he wonders if he misjudged Berkley but she doesn't seem interested in revisiting their moment of connection. She's been working with Nick's sister so he plans to try and make things right but Nick has no idea what has been going on in Berkley's life and when he finds out, he plans to make sure that she is safe and find out who has been targeting her. Knight's Storm is a great romantic suspense story. Lots of action, twists, laughter and a bit of heat! It was told from multiple POVs and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

Berkley has a long history in her hometown, but she has grown and changed over the years. Despite her efforts, some still see her as the wild child she once was. Nick, has had his own challenges in the past, largely due to misunderstandings and mistrust—none of which were her fault. At one point, it seemed like they might have something special, but unfortunately, those old wounds got in the way.

Now, she finds herself caught up in a serious matter—a murder investigation where she is innocent but implicated. This situation is beyond anything she could have imagined, and she will need both her family and Nick’s support more than ever.

She must act swiftly to clear her name and ensure that she does'nt become the next victim in this troubling case. This was an exciting story and the start to a new series. So very happy I picked it up.

Knight’s Storm is a masterclass in romantic suspense. Berkley Knight is exactly the kind of heroine I love—strong, resilient, and trying to outrun a "wild child" reputation that the world won't let her forget. When she starts waking up next to dead bodies (including her "revered" but secretly toxic ex-husband), the tension skyrockets.

The chemistry between Berkley and the man who ghosted her a year ago is electric. Their path back to trust is paved with secrets, spicy tension, and a shared trauma that makes their bond feel earned rather than forced.

The small-town atmosphere of Sanctuary Falls feels cozy until the shadows close in, and the mystery kept me guessing until the very end. If you love protective, broody heroes and a plot that moves at breakneck speed, you need this on your TBR list. A fantastic start to a new series!

When they first meet sparks fly. However based on unreliable information Nick never reaches out. When Berkeley finds herself disoriented and alone in an unfamiliar home with a dead person she runs and asks her brother to help, distrustful of cops due to run in when younger. As they try to piece together her night she is thrown together with Nick due to her work. The next time she wakes up in an unfamiliar home it’s her ex-husbands house and he is dead. As she realizes someone is out to get her, she and Nick learn to trust one another as the danger heats up and they are determined to stay one step ahead of the person out to ruin Berkeley’s life. This is a great introduction to Sanctuary Falls and this new series.

4.25stars-KNIGHT’S STORM is the first instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult SANCTUARY FALLS romantic suspense series. This is rehabber / construction worker Nick Storm, and antiques cataloguer Berkley Knight’s story line.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Nick and Berkley KNIGHT’S STORM focuses on the hunt for a killer. Not once but twice, our heroine Berkley Knight woke up in a strange house, with a dead body, having no memory of what happened or why. Working for her nemesis Nick Storm on the cataloguing of his newly acquired mansion, Berkley found herself under the guardian and protection of our story line hero as law enforcement began a deep dive into the possibility of what was happening and why but all is not as it appears to be, and our heroine is caught in the middle of a dangerous game-someone is targeting Berkley Knight, and the list of suspects continues to grow.

The world building introduces several players and secondary characters in the author’s Sanctuary Falls romantic suspense series. From Berkley’s numerous siblings, and Nick’s sister, KNIGHT’S STORM focuses on the interactions and potential relationships between extended families and friends.

The relationship between Nick and Berkley begins acrimoniously, approximately one year earlier, in the face of betrayal and lies. Berkley and Nick avoid one another at every opportunity but the threats against Berkley become personal and deadly, and in this, Nick is determined to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and sometimes questionable secondary and supporting characters including Nick’s sister Clover Storm, and Berkley’s siblings Micah, Apollo, Cormac, Krystal and her husband Mike as well as Berkley’s friends Silvia and Kendall Bond, and Berkley’s ex Dr. Henry Moore.

KNIGHT’S STORM is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and murder, family and friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is intriguing, edgy and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate and determined.

A great start to a small town set series of protector romances! Sanctuary Falls is on the larger side of a small town though. This is a moderately spicy romance, with plenty of consent and an actual adult conversation before the spicy times begin!

Berkley may be a successful business woman now but she is a reformed wildchild. One who can't seem to get everyone to leave her youthful indiscretions behind! She 's finally offloaded her adulterous, conniving ex but he is still making waves in her life! After a meet cute with Nick she thinks she's turned a corner in her dating life but Nick's super sensitive about cheating and he's fallen for her odious ex's lies!

Fast forward a year and now they possibly have to work together. After he disrespects her, accuses her of basically overcharging for her services, Nick gets reamed by his sister. Justifiably so and with much venom. Now they have to somehow put aside Nick's resentments and work together.

But Nick is the least of Berkley's worries. She keeps waking up in other people's houses which is bad enough but she keeps finding dead bodies too! I wasn't a fan of her attitude towards finding bodies but it'd freak me out too so who knows how I'd react in the same situation. She puts her sister in a bit of a pickle as she is the investigating officer but she is most shocked by Nick's protective stance.

Once they finally have to work together I found myself liking Nick more, i really needed him to grovel more though! I found his attitude towards Berkley and women in general so misogynistic and judgemental. I understood his attitude a bit more as the story unfurled but I really did have a hard time liking him to start with. His come-to-sister moment was good, she did not miss her target and I think he finally understood that he had been caught up in his own head and casting judgement, even when offering a helping hand occasionally.

Another great thread to the story was the other Storm siblings. They all have their own problems and adversities and secrets. Berkley's sister is a wonder woman and I really enjoyed seeing that her chaotic home life and indifferent hubby and sons finally got the rollocking they deserved and adjusted their attitudes accordingly!

Looking forward to book 2.

I really like Katie Reus, and it always pains me to write a nonstellar review, but this book just didn't do it for me. It's very readable, don't get me wrong. The short story is that there wasn't a ton of chemistry between Berkley and Nick, and the suspense wasn't all that gripping. Everyone we're supposed to like is likable and everyone we're not supposed to like, isn't.

Romance part: Nick pulls an asshat move in the meet-cute prolog that I have a hard time forgiving him for. He decides Berkley is horrible after a short convo with her ex; the reason for it isn't good enough for me because other than a few passing moments reflecting on an asshole parent and a well-earned reaming by his sister, he's pretty much a happy-go-lucky guy who skates on his looks. For her part, Berkley responds to his asshattery by being miffed at the same time she drools over him. Yeah, he steps up to be there for her, but it seems odd given his he's ignored her for a year and doesn't really know anything about her.

Suspense part: I guessed the culprit about two pages after they were introduced. The motivation wasn't convincing, and how the crimes were pulled off were never fully explained nor believable.

What we need: More time explaining the MCs backgrounds—not prosaically, but maybe evolving throughout the book. If there really needs to be a one year separation from the prolog to the body of the story, then, we need a better reason than Nick being an ass. A little more reaction from Berkley after finding herself in houses with dead people. She's pretty blasé about it, although occasionally, there's a line about her being freaked out, Show us. More chemistry. More suspense. Better red herrings.

I'm not sure if I'll continue reading this new series, though I really want to give this author another chance. Her work is usually much better thought out than this..

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

📖Genre & Tropes📖 : suspense romance x serial killer plot x grumpy hero x damsel in distress x lots of misunderstandings x loving family x spicy

⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐

The first volume of a new, gripping suspense romance series that I thoroughly enjoyed !

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book because the characters are a bit battered by life and imperfect (the husband of the heroine's sister and the birthday scene !!), and the plot is very twisted, especially with a heroine who finds herself in a completely crazy situation (knocked unconscious, then drugged, and twice she wakes up next to a dead body)... And I devoured this book in a single day

The romance is enjoyable and the plot twisted (even though I had my suspicions about the culprit's identity =)).

In short, a thrilling romance full of twists and turns and sexy, which I thoroughly enjoyed ! I can't wait to get more books with the rest of the Knight family!

PS: To the publisher and NetGalley, thank you so much for the ARC =D

Someone is trying to frame her

Berkley Knight has worked hard to put her past behind her....the rebellious period in her youth that branded her the wild member of the family as wel as her marriage to and subsequent divorce from the revered local surgeon who is actually a nasty bit of work...and has established a growing business in her hometown of Sanctuary Falls. Then she wakes up after a night out with her two best friends with a major headache in an unknown house, with no idea how she got there and a dead man nearby. She's pretty sure that the police would never believe she was innocent given her past, so she turns to one of her brothers to figure out what to do next and manages to avoid attention. Then it happens again, and this time the dead man nearby is her ex-husband. It is clear that someone is trying to frame her and worse, and her staunchest ally turns out to be a man who ghosted her a year earlier (based on lies told to him by the ex-husband). Who would want to ruin her like this? It soon becomes apparent that the danger is far closes than she could ever imagine.
Knight's Storm is a novel of romantic suspense which is the first in a proposed series based in Sanctuary Falls featuring members of the Knight and Storm families. As do author Katie Reus's other series, this one features a strong and spunky female protagonist and a broody, protective male protagonist. Both have some trauma in their pasts which have affected who they have become and both are fiercely loyal to their family and friends. The growing attraction between the two competes with the danger targeting Berkley as they try to figure out who is keeping back secrets, who can be trusted, and who the villain might be. The romance side is a little spicy but fun, and the mystery twists it way through to a dramatic conclusion. Fans of the author as well as readers of Rebecca Zanetti, Marie Force and Toni Anderson should enjoy this solid beginning to a new series. My thanks to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for allowing me access to the novel in exchange for my honest review.

This story grabbed me right away with its danger and fast pace. Things were constantly moving the whole time. I really liked how the suspense kept building while the romance developed alongside it, so there was always something pulling me forward. I found it incredibly easy to sink into and not put it down.

Nick was such a great hero. He was strong, capable, and protective in a calm, confident way I love. Berkeley was just as easy to root for. She was smart, determined, and perfectly capable of handling herself, which I appreciated so much. Together they just worked. Their chemistry felt natural, and I loved watching the trust and attraction grow between them while everything around them was unfolding.

Thank you, Net Galley, for this ARC. This was a fast paced and entertaining romantic suspense story. Berkley and Nick have a meet cute, but unfortunately Nick runs into Berkley's ex-husband, who colors his opinion of her. The story then fast forwards to Berkley having a girl's night out with her friends Kendall and Silva. They have a fun night at the bar, but as Berkley is leaving, she is disoriented. She then wakes up to a strange place and a dead body. Berkley calls her brother Micah for help. He helps her get the scene squared away, they then start to investigate James Reed, and what happened. This leads them to running into their sister, Krystal, who is a detective in town, and who interviews, Nick, as he has a connection to the victim. Nick and Berkley then begin to work together on a work project. Unfortunately, Berkley has another night out that leads to the same thing, waking up next to a dead body. To make matters worse it is her ex-husband's body. With the help of Nick and her family, Berkley begins to investigate who keeps setting her up for these crimes. As Nick and Berkley work together, they become friends and start to fall hard for each other. I really enjoyed their banter, seeing them piece together what happened, and the twist and turns that were revealed. I think if you enjoy small town vibes with a strong family dynamic, this is a good book for you. Additionally, this was a good start to a new series, and I can't wait to see who gets the next book.

This is book one in The Sanctuary Falls series and it is Berkeley and Nick’s story and omg what a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. Berkeley is divorced after her husband cheated on her but one night she went out with her friends and decided not to drink only to wake up the next morning in a strange house with a dead man on the bed but she had no idea how she got there or what had happened except for a large bump on the back of her head so now she needs help and calls her brother to find out who had done this to her. Days later it happened again only this time she was drugged and taken from her own home and found herself in her ex husband’s house and he was also dead but when the time of death was revealed Berkeley had been out with Nick so he was her alibi so Nick ended up hiring a top lawyer to represent her as she now realised that someone was framing her and she needed to find out who it was before her freedom was taken away. The danger is closer than they know and Nick is determined to protect and keep her safe because he really wants a future with her and the only way that they can get that is to eliminate the threat as soon as possible. The twists and turns keep coming at a breakneck speed and you will go on a rollercoaster ride of so many emotions while being unable to put this book down as it was so addictive and action packed and kept your attention throughout the whole book. I absolutely loved this book so much and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

An amazing beginning to this new series with an engaging female character who is bravely facing threats against her freedom. Berkley Knight wakes up in a man’s home without knowing how she got there, not once, but twice and the men are dead. The second home was her ex-husband’s. She calls her brother Micah, who seems to know how to handle this type of situation. She catalogues home inventories, advising the owner on what to sell and what to keep. She had met Nick Storm, co-owner of the home and felt a connection between them, but then he ghosted her. Nick was attracted to Berkley, but hearing negative comments from her ex, he decided not to pursue the attraction. Learning that he had been wrong, he is now trying to make up for his mistake as she is working in his recently purchased historic home. When he learns what is happening to her, and as his feelings grow stronger, he vows to find out who is targeting her and why. She has three brothers who are also intent on keeping her safe, her sister is a local detective and her two closest friends are there for her. When the cops, well one of them, believes that she is involved in the deaths, Nick makes sure that she has an experienced attorney. Her family dynamics are hilarious, at times, as whoever is targeting her seems to be close and intent on ruining her life…but who and why? A wonderful beginning to this new series and I can’t wait for the next book! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

A new series by one of my favorite authors? Groveling overprotective hero and heroine who knows how to take care of business herself? Bring it on!

I loved this fast pacing story featering Berkley, known as a former bad girl but who's cleaned up her act and now has her own service and estate clean out company. She's about to sign a contract for a huge estate with Nick Storm, who owns a construction company with his sister. She met him after her divorce and really liked him but things turned sour due to a misunderstanding instigated by her ex-husband.

Then Berkley finds herself waking up not just once but twice next to a dead body. The first one she doesn't know at all so she runs and calls her brother Micah for help. But the second is her ex-husband so she's got no other choice then to go to the police station. Seems like someone is out to get her.

In swoops Nick bringing with him a lawyer to represent her and he promises to do everything in his power to help her. After finding out Berkley is actually the nice woman he fell for head over heals, he knows he's got some groveling to do but he wins her over bit by bit just by being there for her all the time.

I really loved this one, there's a good fair bit of action, there's a few surprises in the story and of course lots of romance. We're also introduced to a lot of side characters whom will hopefully all get their own story.

In this first book of the new series titled Sanctuary Falls, we are introduced to the close-knitted Knight siblings. This story belongs to Berkley Knight. The sibling that got into trouble as a teen , doesn’t trust the establishment and her failed marriage to a cheater and liar, left her questioning herself and men.
Nowadays, she’s established in a business she loves. All seems to start crumbling in her life when she wakes up not once but twice in a place she doesn’t remember? The last one was at the house of her ex who now is found murdered and she’s now a suspect.
Unexpectedly Nick Storm, the man that is determined to help proof her innocence, had a few months ago turned his back on her. As they work together, with the help of the rest of the Knight siblings, feelings develop.
In the end, will they figure out who is the murderer?
I have to confess that though the plot was interesting, I was past 1/3 of the book and still had not warmed up to the main characters. Something that never happens when I pick up and devour this talented author’s stories.
That said, I am looking forward to the future stories of the siblings .
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
