If you had told me I'd become this obsessed with a fictional college, I probably would've laughed... and yet here we are. At this point, I'll happily enroll in any series Katy Archer writes at Nolan U.
Meet the Boys is the perfect prequel. It's chaotic, funny, and does exactly what it's needs to do—it makes you desperate for every single book that's coming next. Instead of focusing on one couple, we get to meet the entire basketball crew, and somehow every POV left me wanting more.
I already know picking a favorite is going to be impossible. Sawyer had me laughing, Ben completely stole my heart, Jimmy deserves the world, Mac has me convinced there's so much more hiding beneath the surface, and Darian's energy was impossible not to love. Add Charli to the mix, and the roommate chaos, friendships, and banter made this feel like coming home to Nolan U all over again.
One of my favorite things about Katy Archer's books is the found family. Every Nolan U series has that feeling of becoming part of something bigger, and this one already has that magic. You can see the friendships forming, the chemistry building, and all the future romances waiting to unfold.
I've officially reached the point where I'll read anything Katy Archer writes. This universe has completely hooked me, and I already know the Basketball Base crew is going to be another unforgettable group.

This novalla acts as a quick, banter-filled introduction to the entire friend group, setting the scene and dropping hints for a series of interconnected sports romances on the way.
I really enjoyed how this novella gave us a strong insight into all the characters we will follow in this series. It provided just enough of a snippet of everyone's personalities and dynamics to leave me desperate for the full-length novels to come. It sets the foundation perfectly, and I am excited to jump straight into the rest of the series!

Are you ready to head back to Nolan U for romance and basketball? I'm sure you think you are, but this highly enjoyable book will make sure you are. I loved reading about the team and getting to meet and greet the characters. Was eagerly awaiting this series and now I'm also super excited because it is almost time and I can't wait!

'Meet the boys' gives us a chance to get to know everyone before their separate stories come in the Nolan U basketball series.
This was a fun and engaging read, I really enjoyed seeing the characters in the art work too. A diverse group of students who will soon be sharing a house off campus.
Siblings Darian and Charli lead the way with their friends and his team mates.
They decide to have a weekend of fun and partying to get to know the group before deciding which 4 could share their house. It looks like it will be an interesting few years for this group who all have different personalities.
I'm looking forward to the next book already.

Meet the Boys is a novella and serves as the prequel to the upcoming Nolan U Basketball series. I always enjoy books like this that introduce the characters before the series branches off into full-length novels focused on each individual character.
I loved getting a glimpse into all of the main characters before their stories begin. Having so many POVs in one novella made for a fun and engaging read, and it was interesting getting those early insights into each of them.
After finishing this novella, I've already picked out a few characters whose books I can't wait to read, so it will be interesting to see if my favourites stay the same as the series progresses. At this stage, I'm especially excited for Ben's book (title to come) first full novel . We did get a small introduction to him in the Nolan U Hockey series, so I'm looking forward to getting to know him better.
As I continue reading Nolan U Football, I'm interested to see whether some of these characters make appearances there as well. I'm particularly looking forward to learning more about Mac. He reminds me of Asher, who ended up being one of my favourite characters from Nolan U Hockey, he did not start that way though, so I'm highly anticipating his story.
In all of the books I have read so far, there is a great sense of found family, and I am sure that this will continue with this series.
Overall, Meet the Boys was a great introduction to the Nolan U Basketball world, and I'm excited to see where this series goes next.

Meet the Boys Arc by Katy Archer🏀⭐️
I’m so glad to be back in the Nolan U world again! I have missed it so much. This book was a perfect start to the Nolan U Basketball series!
I loved meeting the characters and seeing them at the start of each chapter. Katy Archer kindly included images of the characters which really added to the imagery of the story.
The plot of this novella was so fun and entertaining, I couldn’t put it down! In the novella there was a huge lake house party and honestly you just had to be there!!!! So so good! I also love the found family trope of these books it’s so wholesome and the mention of the characters in the books prior is such a nice touch!
I love the way Katy Archer always gives us an introduction to her characters before kicking off the series, it adds so much depth and you can really see the character development throughout the series.
I can’t wait for the rest of this series! Meet the Boys comes out on the 21st of July and you don’t want to miss it🫶🏻 Be prepared to find a new favourite author😆

June 25, 2026The Nolan U Basketball series just got a whole lot more interesting in this sneak peek into Basketball Base. The characters are a fresh take on cocky school jocks, since they are the worst team on campus. Charlie and Darian are siblings, she's one of the guys, while Dee is a pretty boy obsessed with his looks. Sawyer is their best friend/neighbor/brother tragic past but big heart. Mac, the reckless, bad boy rich kid who is so much more than what he lets people see. Ben (yes, Caroline's Ben) the one who falls in love too fast and keeps getting his heart shattered. Jimmy, the sweetheart who works way too hard to please everyone but never himself. Their weekend getaway brings them closer as they start a new year in a new house as roommates. But if this is a glimpse into what's to come, it's going to be good!

Meet the Boys is a college basketball romance introducing the guys/girl of the Basketball Base House. I love that we get a glimpse of the team and get to know a little bit more about them. This story starts with sister and brother, Charli and Darian, got a new place and want their friends/teammates to live with them. They came up with a plan to have a team getaway to choose people to room with them. I love that we get more than one POV and slowly see why they were chosen. I love how we see their personalities and wonder where their story will take them. I really enjoy meeting the characters and can’t wait to read more about them.

Meet The Boys
is a prequel that kicks off the start to
Nolan U Basketball
series by Katy Archer.
The novella which was like a preview, sets up the introduction to the characters in the Basketball world the summer before another year of college.
It allowed us to get a feel for the characters with getting to know and understand them to an extent all before each go on to have their own full length novels.
The exploration in this story has us seeing the camaraderie shared in what seems to be the start of a found family. Including the leading to crazy shenanigans given what they got up to during their summer break before heading back to college at Nolan U.
It was an entertaining, fun read that paved way for laughter and joy, courtesy of the witty banter and funny moments from the antics some of the characters got up to.
Simultaneously giving a somewhat in-depth feel from the emotional moments in regards to the struggles and hardships some of the characters endured and faced.
All in all, with Meet The Boys being a prequel novella, author Katy Archer did a good job in giving a taster of the characters and what’s to come in this quick and easy read.

Perfect introduction to the series!
This was a fantastic introduction to the new series. It was a perfect mix of humor, drama, angst, and steam. I loved getting to know the characters and am excited about all of their stories. I especially can't wait for Ben to finally get his HEA!

ARC Review of Meet The Boys Prequel Novella in the Nolan U Basketball Series by Katy Archer. This is a 5 star read for me. I loved this prequel novella it was such a fun quick read that had me cracking up. I absolutely love Nolan U and am so happy to be on Katy's ARC team. So far we have gotten the hockey guys stories and the football guys stories and I am so happy to now be meeting the basketball guys and getting their stories. This is a college basketball prequel romance where you get to meet the 5 main MMC’S of the series before their individual stories. This book is told from the multiple POVs of Sawyer, Mac, Jimmy, Ben, Darian and Darian's little sister Charli. I love how diverse this group is and how different everyone’s personality is. I loved meeting them all and seeing them all interact with each other. I love the banter between everyone in this book. It’s summer break and Darian and Charli just found a 6 bedroom house off campus to rent but they need to find 4 other people to rent it with them before school starts. Charli comes up with the idea of doing a weekend getaway with the boys basketball team and her friend Nix to see who they can handle living with for a year, kind of like a tryout just without the team knowing. The team, Charli and Nix end up all getting together for a weekend away at Mac’s (Darian’s teammate) family’s lake house. This wild weekend starts it all, it brings the guys along with Charli together to become roommates and friends and it sets the path for 5 romances no one saw coming. I love Charli, Darian’s little sister. She plays on the girls basketball team at Nolan. I love how close Charli and her brother are. I love Darian’s golden retriever energy and I love the tension between him and Nix. Ben is so sweet and kind and I love that he’s a hopeless romantic. I love how funny Sawyer is he’s the prankster and I love how he and Charli act together. Jimmy is such a good guy who comes from a rich family and feels pressure to be perfect and just wants to let loose. I love Mac he is the rich reckless bad boy of the bunch and often referred to as a vampire lol but there is more to him that he doesn’t let others see. I definitely recommend this book and upcoming series

It was the ultimate setup for intense tension and forced proximity.The dynamic of this ensemble cast is completely unmatched, and getting to know all five of these basketball boys was a wild ride:
Sawyer & Charli: I loved watching Sawyer do domestic "boyfriend things" for Charli while they both remained completely oblivious. They are the ultimate "two idiots in love" trope.
Darian: His fiery sparring matches kept me turning pages. Watching his tactical mastermind persona completely derail over a pair of tweezers at the lake house was pure comedic gold.
Mac: He brings the ultimate bad boy persona to the group. He acts like a total brick wall who is aggressively allergic to feelings, but i believe watching his heart actively betray his tough exterior will be a absolutely delicious angst.
Jimmy: The quiet, reliable dark horse who completely steals the show the second he decides to taste a little rebellion.
Ben: My absolute favorite big-hearted golden boy. He wears his heart entirely on his sleeve, which makes it absolutely devastating when he ends up getting completely heartbroken all over again amidst the chaos. You will just want to wrap him in a blanket and protect him.

Charli and Darian, a brother and sister, have learned that a large house is available to rent and concoct a devious plan to decide who they will invite to be roommates. All are on the Nolan U basketball team, of course, and their scheme to choose roommates does, and does not, go exactly as they planned. Obviously, I can't go into a lot of details about these characters yet, but I am already looking forward to getting to each of them better. They are all very realistic and compelling though, and of course the angst and drama make for a fun, sometimes funny read. A must-read college sports romance that I highly recommend to other readers whether or not they are a sports fan.

Loved being back in the world of Nolan U and meeting these new characters and also getting to see some we’ve already met. The plot this Novella follows was so fun; it was addictive and impossible to put down - one weekend away, a massive party and a whole lot of drama - I can’t wait to see how this series unfolds.

Every trip back to Nolan U feels like coming home.
After loving Katy Archer’s hockey and football series, I couldn’t wait to finally get to know the basketball team. While we’d met a few of these characters before, this prequel was such a fun introduction and left me excited to learn more about every single one of them.
Sawyer and Charli were immediate favorites, and their dynamic immediately had me hooked. Jimmy also really caught my attention, but honestly, I can’t wait for everyone’s book.

Here we go, off to start a new season at NOLAN U,
This is a sweet novella , i truly enjoyed getting to
see the personalities and some background of the characters for the basketball series. I discovered Katy Archer this year, and I can honestly say I was super excited to be chosen as a member of her ARC team. I started Forbidden Freshman and then made my way through the rest of the Nolan U Hockey series, then I completed Nolan U Football series, now I will be completing Nolan U Basketball series. I Can't wait to read the next book. KEEP up the good work Katy you are doing a wonderful job.

Ahhhhhhhh !! A brand new series and this is just the beginning. I cannot wait to see what happens with all these characters. Charli and her small crush on sawyer. Darian losing an eyebrow all for a prank. Jimmy and he controlling parents. Ben being heartbroken yet again. And Mac, he might be my favorite so far but it’s going to be a tough one to pick. I cannot wait to see the chaos and the pranks and having everyone fall in love. Ahhhhh I am soooooo excited to see what comes next 💥

Ever had a really great appetizer that just makes you hungrier for the main course? Well, this book is that appetizer in print! It serves as a prequel to the upcoming Nolan U basketball series and introduces us to the various characters that will star in future books.
I’m sure the author will throw in some curve balls, but it was fun to read the story and guess which couples will end up together. Since it’s told in multiple point of views (one for each future main character,) we’re able to get to know them quickly. I’m already invested and know I’ll be rooting for each of them to find love.
Basically, I can't wait for the rest of the series!

Meet the Boys was the perfect mix of humor, friendship, romance, and chaos! The weekend setup made for nonstop entertaining moments, and I loved getting to know each character as their personalities and relationships unfolded. Katy Archer does a wonderful job balancing multiple storylines while giving each one its own charm and emotional depth. It’s a fun, feel-good read that left me excited to see where these romances go next.

I love the fact that this book gives you some partial insight bout each of the Nolan U basketball players. I am anticipating to know more about each character and how they got to where they are right now. But most importantly, I can't wait to see who ends up with who. I know the Nolan U basketball team storylines will be great as the football and hockey series.

Meet the boys is a novella where we enter and meet the basketball base boys. It is exactly what you expect from a Katy Archer book fantastic lovable characters. This is the start of basketball journey and if it's anything like hockey house I know I'm going to absolutely love these books that will be coming

I received it as an ARC. Books like this are why Katy is one of my favorite authors. I have been an ARC reader since the beginning, and I love that she gives a little insight into some of the characters before the stories actually begin. Now I don't have a favorite yet; I will have to wait to decide for each individual book.

Back to U Nolan university and this time with the basketball team. Meet Darían, Sawyer, Mac, Jimmy, Ben and Darian’s sister, Charli and how they come to together in a big house off campus. An interesting mix of people and looking forward to their loves and lives’s stories. Go Cougars!!

Meet the boys was so good. It brings all of the characters to life and get us anticipating each of the boys stories. This book shares with us how they came to live together and become friends. Katy knows how to write a story.
