"Life is messy, Nelena, and if you're going to get through it alive, you're going to need to learn to live in a mess."
It is no secret I am an avid fan of the author of this novel. This is my nineteenth read of her expansive catalogue and per usual, Alannah Carbonneau certainly did not disappoint me with Mr. Wright Now.
Our heroine Nelena is a young woman who was supposed to marry her boyfriend of four years, but in a twist of events and a sudden change of heart, she walks away from her soon to be husband. Falling into a depression, her best friend Kali, at the behest of Nelena's father, drags her to Las Vegas for a two week vacation.
Kade Wright is a sexy single dominant man with a troubled past who leaves Chicago and lands in Vegas as a performer after a terrible turn of events. He lives unapologetically and doesn't allow himself to fall for even the greatest of beauties after his ex did him over... That is until Nelena enters his life. What happens next, you will have to read Mr. Wright Now to find out!
In this Erotic Romance, Carbonneau paints a vivid picture of heartbreak, seduction and scenery. Her descriptive use of adjectives and characterizations to immerse you into the Vegas scene is flawless.
There is gut-wrenching sadness and heart-stopping romantic eroticism, laced with angst and dancing that will have you turning the pages fast and your heart racing even faster. I simply could not put this book down, so much that I read it in one sitting.
Carbonneau has storytelling down to a science which is one of the reasons why I enjoy her work so much. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and hope their story lines are expanded in the next installment. Please note this is the first book in the Wild Card Series, and yes, there is a cliffhanger, but not bad where you want to punch a wall or eat an entire box of chocolate in one sitting.
If you are looking for a steamy panty-scorching romance between an alpha male and a strong yet delicate heroine, this book is for you! If you are a fan of friendship and hope like me, then this book is definitely for you.

Mr. Right Now is the first of Allanah Carbonneau's books that I have read and I can honestly say that I will be reading more from her.
I was engrossed in this story from the very beginning. My heart was breaking as she described the feelings that Nelena was having as she made her way to the man she was to spend the rest of her life with. I was actually holding my breath anxious for her and to see what decision she would make.
When the story takes us to Vegas I was brought back to the time I spent there with how vividly the author describes the city. I remember seeing it for the first time so it was easy to see it through Nelena's eyes. It was also easy to feel the hesitation and reluctance she felt about being outside of her comfort zone. However, Nelena is tired of going through the motions of life instead of living it so she makes a vow to herself to experience life for the 14 days she is on vacation.
Enter Kade Wright a beautiful but broken man who breezes through life living loud but numb. He is very much physical in his life but he is missing emotionally. Can a one-night stand with an intriguing woman thaw his heart and in turn breathe life into her broken spirit.

Well Alannah Carbonneau has done it again. I loved this story for the very beginning, it sucked me right in and kept me hooked. I loved the characters in the story, they were really engaging. The story flows well and as with Alannah's other stories is very well written.
The story is of Nelena and Kade,Helena is in Vegas following her close shave with marriage. With her best friend they are there to let loose and live a little, something Nelena has not done before. After meeting Made, a dancer, her life will never be the same again. Will they be just a 14 day stand or is there a future for them? Well I'm not telling you, you will have to read it for yourself to find out.
A definite must read. Book 1 of a 2 part series.

Well, well, well! What a surprise from the author of Donnelley Brother’s series. She has always been descriptive in the bedroom department but somehow managed to titillate us to extremes for those hot, steamy scenes. Not so here folks! When I jumped into the book, I didn’t have to wait too long before my reading glasses started steaming up! She’s changed her style and I like it… a lot. A storyline which is well-plotted can only be the recipe for a good read.
The heroine in this story has made a decision. And just in time, too! How she’s going to handle the consequences of a sham of a relationship with her cheating ex is quite brave on her part. A surprise trip organised by her bestie, Kali, to Vegas for two weeks conjures up an interesting scenario to say the least. In more ways than one, Nelena is quite the opposite of her worldly-wise… nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more friend!
Quote ~ Kali: "And we're going to find me a hot little woman who can bend her body in ways the Devil himself can't imagine."
Kali loves her like a sister and she refuses to sit back and watch her friend wallow in her sorrows. Even Lena’s father encourages her to let her hair down, so off they trot to sin city. Many a true word spoken in jest when Kali jokes about Lena finding the ideal Mr. Right to paint the town red with. Not only do Kali’s eccentricities abound and had me laughing out loud, but also her concern for Lena’s well being is foremost and well described.
Quote ~ Dad: "Letting loose won't kill you, Nelena. It'll help you live." He winked. "Take the advice an old man offers you."
Hmm, is Mr. Kade Wright Mr. Right or Mr. Wrong? This drop-dead gorgeous hunk of an Alpha male who happens to live and work as a professional dancer in Vegas, is an expert one-night-stander; a player in the first degree. He’s carrying enough emotional baggage around with him to sink a ship. However, sparks fly between them as soon as they set eyes on each other, and a super-hot, scorching no strings attached fourteen day fling kicks off with carnal lust! In spite the fact that their desires are insatiable, it is a really romantic love story with a twist and a half. Ooh, yes, and what a surprise Kade is in for!

This highly erotic first book in the Wild Card series which overflows with impassioned thoughts and incredible banter, kept me on my toes so much that I read it in one sitting. In fact, as I really liked the secondary characters, Kali and Kade’s loyal friend, Allie, I was wondering if the author might even consider writing about them! Now the cliffy… it’s a biggy with a capital B. Regardless whether you shout and scream at your Kindle, the only option left is to play the waiting game for book two. The only tinsy winsy hitch in the book was I found it a little short. Apart from this minor issue, Ms Carbonneau deserves a hearty Bravo!

Nelena (Lena) was the laid back, go with the flow kind of woman. Lena had what she wanted for her life all planned out including only ever being with one man. So when her former fiancé Bryon brought up the fact the next step in their relationship was marriage, she agreed. The problem was she found out just what kind of man he was and what/whom he’d been doing it with, it crushed her. Lena’s best friend Kali gets her to go to Vegas to let loose and have fun, she didn’t expect Lena to find Mr. Wright Now.
Kade Wright has been hurt in the past and kept most woman at a distance. He had a strong dominant side to him that some couldn’t take but he use it to keep people including his family out of his heart. When he saw Lena at a bar one night, his intention were to spend just one night with her. The problem was, that one night wasn’t enough to quench his thrust for her, so he came up with a proposition that she’d be his for the remainder of her stay in Vegas. This was a great plan until he realized that fourteen days wasn’t enough.
This is the first novel by Alannah Carbonneau I have read and I was addicted before the first chapter ended. The way Nelena connected with Kade and how the chemistry just exploded between them had me hooked. I wanted to know just how far these two would go to be with each other. The mistrust they both have since being hurt or betrayed causes so many problems for them but at the same time it added heat to their already steamy relationship. Of course with any good book comes a twist that you don’t see coming leaving me wondering what’s in store for these two in the second book in the series and I can’t wait to read it!!

Seriously Alannah ....... will you ever give me a book thats not worthy of 5 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I was so excited to read this new book by Alannah Carbonneau.
I went into this book expecting to be hooked, there's something about Alanna's writing that has you hooked from the first page. However I never expected to fall hopelessly and irrevocably in love with these characters.
Nelena is a Virgin Bride who is marrying the man she spent years of her life with ...... well she would have if she never did a run away bride act lol.....don't feel sorry for the smuck though, because when they are outside the church things are said and secrets come out, you will wonder how Nelena lasted as long as she did. ( and believe me she handled it better than I would have.)
2 weeks had passed with Nelena moping, and hiding away dealing with a broken heart .....So in true best friend , enter Kali giving her the best way to get over her broken heart, A Plane ticket to Sin City ....It was time to have some fun, lose her V card and bang a hot guy.....although dubious at first Nelena goes and parts ways for 2 whole weeks with her inhibitions. (Let the Fun begin)
Stop looking for Mr Right ..... and you'll find Mr Wright Now.
Enter Mr Wright ...Kade is a Hot Dancer, Dominant, Sexy with a dirty mouth, he has things happen in his past that leave him not wanting anything serious, he's happy playing the field and screwing women for fun....that sounds the perfect match for Nelena wouldn't you think?

I was so enthralled in the book I hadn't realised I had reached the end ... and wow what an ending I couldn’t believe the ending, that cliffhanger left me screamin at my kindle.
Now you have to hurry Alannah, because I'm waiting with baited breath.

I loved reading Mr. Wright Now. This is the first book in A Wild Card Novel. And, there is a huge cliffhanger that leaves you with an Oh no you didn't moment Alannah Carbonneau but she did!
I often wonder how people can fall in love in just 2 weeks. But, I did a very long time ago and we are still together so I know Kade and Nelena can too. Nelena is actually a runaway bride that she hides the fact from Kade. Nelena and her best friend Kali head to Vegas to mend Nelena's broken heart and she meets Kade. It is only supposed to be a fling that will last for 14 days but, turns into so much more! Kade has his own demons to fight and also has a best friend Allie who lives with him as his roommate(Kade and Allie are both dancers in Vegas). Both Allie and Kalie meet and form a relationship as well and I have a feeling we will see more of them later in the next book in the A Wild Card Novel Series. At least I am hoping so. I also hope I won't have to wait too long for the next book in this series.
I have to keep saying this because it is true. I have the best non-paying job as a blogger and I received this ARC for an honest review and I honestly loved Mr. Wright Now! I give Mr. Wright Now 4.5 OOOOo's (O's for Orgasms)

Holy smoke Alannah you have done it again, Mr Wright Now was amazing. You Miss Lady did NOT disappoint once again.
This story follows Nelena, a woman who was unsure of her life from the start. With major doubt of what she was about to do her gut instinct makes her flee her life. Not without hearing the awful truth from the 'love of her life'. Nelena and her best friend head to Vegas for some much needed down time and to get away from her ugly past.
Chance meeting of Kade leads to Nelena striving for a one night stand. Kade does not hesitate, with conquests and notches a more Nelena is a woman who intrigues him, he needs her. But not just for one night...
Kade propositions she spend the rest of her vacation with him, and could a holiday romp lead to more... with feelings surfacing, hot scene's, and great character raport, Alannah brings both characters to life. Their character relations excels through each page and chapter. Mr. Wright Now is Kade Wright. Nelena, a Canadian, visits Las Vegas after narrowly escaping marrying a man who cheated on her with her sister. That is one of the things she has in common with Kade. He was also betrayed by love... his fiancee. Neither are looking for love. But the sexy scenes sizzle. Can they keep it a '14 day affair' or is it something more?
One of the things I liked about Kade is that he is a professional dancer, not the usual occupation of males in romance novels. And not an erotic dancer/ stripper, either. He moved to Las Vegas to escape a betrayal, and his life seems on hold. Nelena is looking for someone to help her forget Byron and move on. Their chemistry is combustible
Then there are Kali and Allie, the lesbian friends of Nelena and Kade. They are mouthy, out-spoken, and loyal to their friends... and they love sex. They are interesting secondary characters.
I enjoyed this contemporary romance novel. I was left wanting something more, thus the four star rating. It ends with a cliffhanger that is a last minute twist that has me curious as to where the author will go with book 2.

Mr. Wright Now is a great story. I was hooked right from the beginning. We first meet Nelena (Lena) she is getting ready to get married. She makes it all the way down to the alter but can't go through with it. Her and her friend Kali go on a fourteen day trip to Vegas. Nelena has been saving herself her Mr. Right. Kali who is a lot more wild then Nelena convinces her that maybe she should be looking for Mr. Right Now and not Mr. Wright. I loved how Nelena and Kali have such a great friendship. They seem like polar opposites but they make perfect friends.
In Vegas, Nelena meet Kade Wright. He lives in Vegas and is a dancer. He is used to one night stands. After a night with Nelena he wants her for the rest of her stay. Neither one really wants to have their heart involved but fate may have something to say about that.
There are some funny part, some sexy parts, and some heart wrenching parts. The ending was crazy and then the Epilogue gave me some hope, only to destroy that hope of a happy ending with another twist. I can't wait to read the nest one.

First off I want to say Thank you to Alannah for the ARC OMG!!! Alannah your writing is truly amazing. I was sucked in right from the very beginning.
Mr. Wright Now was an amazing quick, HOT, funny and emotional read. Nelena has a runaway bride moment while walking down the aisle and runs to Vegas with her best friend Kali. Little does she know that the 14 day Vegas getaway vacation will change her life.
Kade is a Vegas dancer who only believes is one night stands. That however changes when meets Nelena in a Vegas club. He wants more that a one night stand he wants 14 days of a no strings and no emotions. Can both Nelena and Kade do this?

I received an ARC of Mr. Wright Now by Alannah Carbonneau and it is a hot book. Kade is a sexy dark dominant man who you can’t help but love him he completely melts you when he get all possessive and passionate. Nelena is a sweet innocent girl who you just want to root for to get crazy and to have a happy ending. Nelena and Kade together have explosive chemistry from the start. Along with them is their best friends Kali and Allie who help bring this whole story together. Of course we don’t know what the ending holds because Alannah Carbonneau decided to leave it at a point that you want more and of course I want more. I will be waiting for the next book.

I loved this book but I had an issue with the virginity scene. Nelena was waiting until she was married and then she dumped her fiancé at the altar (with good reason as we find out) then she loses it on a supposed one night stand in Vegas. That scene kinda annoyed me. Apart from that I was hooked. I loved Nelena’s character despite what happened she was strong and upbeat. Kade was incredibly intense but oh so sexy! The sparks really did fly when these two were together. I loved Kali and Allie – we all need best friends like them! I really enjoyed the book and was gutted about the cliff hanger but I can’t wait for the next book. 5 stars

Another phenomenal series from Alannah. Nelena leaves her groom at the alter and soon finds out how deep his betrayal actual went. On a trip to Vegas to help her get back to herself she meets her literal Mr. Wright.
Kade has his own heartbreak and betrayal to deal with. He is pushed into going out on the town by his partner and once he spots Nelena he wants to possess here. Nelana's two weeks in Vegas just got a lot hotter.
Hot steamy sex and a bit of alpha thrown in makes this a great start to another wonderful series.

This is a great start to a new serial by Alannah Carbonneau. I really enjoyed getting to know Nelena and Kade and the sexy times were just so hot!
This book grabbed me right from the start and I really couldn't put it down until I finished. The cliffy was on me before I knew it and I'm eagerly anticipating the next book.

Wow…Alannah Carbonneau…you drew me right into this story from the very beginning, and I just could not put it down. I’m trying to think of anything that I didn’t like, and the only thing that I can come up with is that it ended.
This is the story of Nelena, who was engaged to “Mr. Wrong - Mr. So-Very-Wrong he was f***ing my own sister wrong”. Her dad decides to send her and her best friend on a two week vacation to get her out of her funk. And what better place to go than VEGAS BABY! Best Dad Ever! After meeting Cade Wright while in Vegas, Nelena decides he can be Mr. Wright Now and these fourteen days can be a lot of fun. I have a new image in my head for Holy Hotness Fun and I’ll just say one word…ribbons. DAMN!
However, what happens when the vacation isn’t all just fun and games and real feelings start developing? Can Mr. Wright Now actually be Mr. Wright Forever? "But not all loves are meant to flower into forever. Some loves are quick and fleeting - a burst of light with the sole purpose to melt the layer of ice coating a soul.” Which is this?
"The kind of love that embodies the life of a star, that burns too bright amidst a sea of shimmering specs, and combusts into a black hole.” That sentence alone describes the ending of this book…a supernova. For those that don’t know, a supernova is a stellar explosion that briefly outshines an entire galaxy, radiating as much energy as the Sun or any ordinary star is expected to emit over its entire life span, before fading from view over several weeks or months. Due to the cliffhanger ending, Mr. Wright Now is fading from my view. However, I will be waiting, whether it’s for several weeks or months, for Ms. Carbonneau to once again light up my nights. I give Mr. Wright Now 5 stars.

I absolutely loved this story !!
This was yet another fantastic novel from this author. Having now read numerous books by Alannah Carbonneau I can safely say she's one of my top go to authors and I will not hesitate to one click any new release she produces as I know I'm guaranteed an amazing few hours immersed deep in another world that she has magically created.
This story follows Nelena a young woman that on the day of her wedding realises her life isn't really her own. In a mad turn of events she flees her fiancé the supposed love of her life. In an attempt to find herself she heads for the bright lights of Las Vegas with her best friend in tow. Determined to live a little and be the Nelena know one expects her to be she throws caution to the wind and plays her wild card. Instead of looking for Mr Right she looks for Mr Right Now. Only she meets Mr Wright!!
Kade Wright isn't looking for anything permanent he's quite happy notching up conquests, that is until Nelena. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? ....but what happens if it's not that simple?

Nelena and Kali have gone to Vegas for two weeks of fun, dancing and no-strings sex. The last think Nelena expected was to find Mr Wright. She knew her heart was going to break when the two weeks were over, however Kade Wright was an addiction she couldn’t give up. Will Kade feel the same? Will they find a way to be together when Nelena’s two weeks in Vegas are over?
This is one scorching HOT read! From the first page I found myself captivated by Nelena’s story. The characters in Mr Wright Now are all likeable and loveable, each with a story to tell. Alannah Carbonneau writes in a way that you can truly feel the passion and connection Nelena and Kade both have for each other. The two weeks they spend together is one hell of a passionate rollercoaster ride; one that will leave you out of breath. I was so enthralled in the story that the epilogue was upon me before I knew it, leaving me wanting so much more and wanting to throw my kindle out the window! This is one cliffhanger I did not see coming and what a cliffhanger it is! I can’t wait for book #2 in the series!

Nelena is too caring; she is also a great friend, loyal, honest, and smarter than she realizes. Kade is intense, broken, full of anger issues, and can make a woman scream in delight. Kali is an amazing best friend and so is Allie. Alannah Carbonneau has created wonderful characters and an interesting storyline. This ends in a cliffhanger, so I am off to read the rest of their story. This ends in a cliffhanger, so I am off to read the rest of their story.

He had a strong dominant side to him that some couldn’t take but he use it to keep people including his family out of his heart. When he saw Lena at a bar one night, his intention were to spend just one night with her. The problem was, that one night wasn’t enough to quench his thrust for her, so he came up with a proposition that she’d be his for the remainder of her stay in Vegas. This was a great plan until he realized that fourteen days wasn’t enough.

Mr Wright was unfortunately Mr Wrong for me. This is the first of Ms Carbonneau’s work I have read and is probably just a case of doesn’t work for me but I did not connect at all with Kade and Nelena.
I completed the book but was just left feeling ‘meh’ at the end and not particularly caring one way or the other what happened with them or that it was a cliff hanger ending…….
Several things did not work for me.
The first was that a 23 year old girl who has saved her virginity as a gift for her husband, something important enough to her that in four years of dating she never gave up to the man she planned to spend the rest of her life with, then having left him at the altar throws it away on her first night in Vegas.
The second was that Kade used to manage a chain of hotels, fully fledged white collar worker in a corporate environment but when his heart gets broken four years previously he runs away to Vegas to be a dancer. Now, professional dancers who (the implication is) headline shows have to rehearse damned hard, which in his two week fling with Nelena is never mentioned and not forgetting that these people have danced for years to get where they are, loads of blood, sweat and tears involved, it’s not just done for fun and then wham bam they get a career out of it.
My third niggle was that for two girls on their first visit to Vegas, given how ‘love or loathe it’ the place is, it does inspire a range of feelings and everyone explores to some extent whilst there, but very little mention of it was made which just spoilt the flow for me.
The fourth was that the scenes between Kade and Nelena, especially the sex, were just a little too descriptive, flowery and superfluous so, as stated, I just ceased to care about them as a couple - no feels or connection.
There is a cliff hanger ending which I didn’t expect but I won’t be picking up the second book. Many readers will enjoy it I’m sure but it’s not a fit for me.
I completed the book but was just left feeling ‘meh’ at the end and not particularly caring one way or the other what happened with them or that it was a cliff hanger ending…….
Several things did not work for me.
The first was that a 23 year old girl who has saved her virginity as a gift for her husband, something important enough to her that in four years of dating she never gave up to the man she planned to spend the rest of her life with, then having left him at the altar throws it away on her first night in Vegas.
The second was that Kade used to manage a chain of hotels, fully fledged white collar worker in a corporate environment but when his heart gets broken four years previously he runs away to Vegas to be a dancer. Now, professional dancers who (the implication is) headline shows have to rehearse damned hard, which in his two week fling with Nelena is never mentioned and not forgetting that these people have danced for years to get where they are, loads of blood, sweat and tears involved, it’s not just done for fun and then wham bam they get a career out of it.
My third niggle was that for two girls on their first visit to Vegas, given how ‘love or loathe it’ the place is, it does inspire a range of feelings and everyone explores to some extent whilst there, but very little mention of it was made which just spoilt the flow for me.
The fourth was that the scenes between Kade and Nelena, especially the sex, were just a little too descriptive, flowery and superfluous so, as stated, I just ceased to care about them as a couple - no feels or connection.
There is a cliff hanger ending which I didn’t expect but I won’t be picking up the second book. Many readers will enjoy it I’m sure but it’s not a fit for me.

I really liked this book. If a woman could proudly be a runaway bride, this is the way to go. She was too good for the groom. But she had no idea what she would stumble upon in Vegas. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Or does it? I only gave this book 4 stars, because I was left with a cliffy. It had some hot and steamy sex scenes, a hot guy, and a great story. I am dying to know what is to come of this couple. I hope Alannah will not wait too long to give the next part of the Wild Card Series. I also hope to hear more about Allie & Kali, the besties of both Kade & Nelena.

Mr. Wright Now is hot and steamy! Nelena finds herself in Vegas after her she finds out her ex is jerk. Her best friend Kali is going to make sure that Nelena opens herself up to a little fun. On the first night there, Mr. Wright makes his way to Nelena and things progress from there. These two have both been hurt in the past, yet when they come together, it's like none of that matters. Until the two weeks are up. Can these two find a way to stay together where they belong? Or will circumstances surrounding them keep them apart? Very well written with all the emotions described perfectly.
