The themes and tools Barry articulated in the book are reasonable. I found this to be one of the more direct business books I've read with clear coaching and examples.

That said, I almost DNF this book at the Preface because it's like reading ChatGPT. The common AI tropes are all over it: "that's not X, it's Y" (like... Almost every paragraph). Em dashes galore, random bolding. If the publisher would have let them keep emojis in the book, it would have been indistinguishable from a ChatGPT response.

Barry mentions having worked with a writer on Unlearn to help with his dyslexia, so I give credit for using the tools, but I wish someone would have updated the prompting or taken a pass to clean up the content that seems obviously AI generated.

I struggled between 2 and 3 stars. I got past the style and the substance was more actionable than most, plus it's super short which helped it.
