Five years ago his mate was taken from him and Hayden, now an alpha of the Clear Ridge Pack, has never stopped searching for the other half of his soul.
Tobias can’t remember his past, but he knows something is coming for him. He’s been having the same dream for the last month and each night he falls asleep only to wake sweat-drenched and heart pounding after a narrow escape from the predator chasing him.
When dreams begin to intrude into reality Tobias finds himself marked, mated and pregnant in a world that can’t possibly be real, but when what began five years ago returns ready to finish what it started, Tobias realizes that the only thing he can do is put his trust in the shifter who’s been hunting him down and who he’s beginning to fall in love with.
Have you ever suspended belief for something and thoroughly enjoyed it, only to have logic and reason muscle their way in when least expected and ruin the whole goddamn experience for you? That happened to me.
This is a book about werewolves. Eventually, it becomes a book about a pregnant male werewolf. And I'm cool with that, ya know? Seems kinda silly to me, but I can roll with it. It's fantasy, after all, and I'm already suspending my sense of reality for the werewolves. Right?
But then at the end, during the epilogue, when their children come running into their room...and Colton tried to sell us on the idea that Tobias gave birth to three sets of identical twins, and each set is a boy/girl combination...
Identical twins cannot be different sexes. It is biologically impossible.
So then I was sitting there pissed because of the near meltdown that was going on inside my brain: "Of course it's biologically impossible! Just like a man fucking having babies!!!" It's different, though, I can't help but tell myself. With evolutionary progress, it may be possible for men to one day bear children. But I don't see identical boy/girl twins happening at any point in the human evolutionary timeline.
So biology. Biology made me hate this book. Well, that and the terrible grammar and unresolved plot points (we never did find out why Michael never bothered to contact Hayden after the fire. Made zero sense.)
I liked the first book in this series, and was looking forward to this one. But the bad grammar, misspellings and dropped words killed it for me. The plot was OK, but the big hole - why did Tobias not remember anything from before he left the pack - was never answered. The whole plot was very soap opera-ish, with lots of sex which didn't add much to story. Frankly, by the end even the sex was getting boring.
The author is talented but keeps using the same tropes, plot and never-ending sex scenes to keep this series going. And while I love big, bold Alphas as much as the next girl...the repetition is getting old. I want more plot, more world building, less sexy times. Yeah, can't believe I wrote that either.
This story adds a whole other meaning to long distance love . I loved how this story began with the projection of Hayden's wolf showing up to claim his mate while they were still physically 6 hours away from each other . It added a spark of the mystical to a already great series .
It took him five years to find his mate, to only find that he doesn't remember him. Then there someone trying to keep them from solving the mystery regarding his mate. They went through a lot, but ended with a HEA, and six pups.
We met Hayden in the first book, he is one of the 6 Alphas that lead the new pack born from the merger, happened 2 years ago. For all his life Hayden has always knew who his mate was, but Tobias was too young for him to be claimed and he was waiting for him to be of age. Tobias since he was 7 knew that his mate was the strong Alpha and growing up he changed his attemps to make the older wolf claim him, but Hayden always refused. They think they have all the time in the world, but they are wrong. One day a fire burns the house where Tobias and his guardian Michael were living and all believe they are dead. Hayden is destroyed, but at the same time he still believes his mate is alive and he wants to find him. For over 5 years he searches for his mate till he finds him living a normal life and without any memories of the pack or them. ( he finds him thanks to a dream,a power no other wolf has and we dont know why he has it or how it really works or why it worked only after 5 years) Hayden thinks that maybe who kidnapped Toby abused the little wolf so much that he wanted to forget all about his past, but he is wrong. Tobias wasnt kidnapped, Michael took him away to protect him from Roman, Hayden's cousin that didnt want his Alpha to breed and mate with an half-wolf. At start Tobias wants to be left alone, he doesnt know Hayden and isnt sure if he can trust him, but the mate pull is too strong and they end up having sex. During the act, Hayden gets angry and jealous bcs Tobias seems to know what he is doing too well to be still a virgin like he was the last time he saw him. Tobias replies that he is only doing what he thought Hayden would like and the older wolf understands that he was a fool and that Toby isnt lying. Useless to say that Tobias is now pregnant with 6 pups....
There was a lot of angst in this book, and really too much sex. When they finally go back home together and Tobias meets again Roman, he doesnt know why but he is scared by the wolf. We dont know if he is starting to remember something and in the end the author never tells us if he got his memories back, and I really wanted to know it, bcs was really sad to think he lost his past with Hayden.
Roman tries to kill Tobias and the pups, but Hayden saves him. Tobias falls from a cliff, but at the last second he is able to shift, something that half-breed arent usually able to do.
They can finally live happy and have the pups they always wanted.
Sadly the book was too short and without a real plot. Some questions were never answered and this annoyed me.

Short but very smexy and very sweet. I liked it very much. Even if the plot is very predictable, even if the bad guy is so very obvious, even if certain things are never resolved (like why Michael never contacted his Alpha after he took Tobias or why Michael never told Tobias anything), even if the relationship went very smoothly...I enjoyed myself greatly. It brought me a couple of hours of brainless fun (and I do mean brainless). Still...if you're looking for something more meaningful, something deeper, something edgier, something darker or something that just makes more sense this is not for you.
I'm really liking this series although this could easily be read as a stand-alone. While the mystery/suspense element was really easy to figure out, it didn't take anything away from the story. There is plenty of both romance and steaminess to curl your toes. This story really flowed well in wrapping up the hint from the first book but there's not an obvious set up for the next. With several other alphas to choose from, I'm looking forward to more entries in the series!
I'm giving this rating because I liked the basic story. It would have been higher if the editing had been better. I'm not saying it wasn't edited. I believe it was, just that during the process there were words left out. Perhaps when something was changed? I don't know, only that it was more than a few incidents here and there and after a while it pulled me out of the story.
This book sucks you in from the beginning. Seeing Tobias go through the process of learning who and what he is, kept me glued to the story. The love Hayden has for his mate is inspiring and beautiful. And their chemistry is explosive. You won't regret purchasing this book!
Cute read....I liked the first one in this series better but this one was still good. I did like how this one had more of a suspense/mystery story along with romance. I thought Hayden was adorable and loved that he was always searching for his mate and wouldn't give up. Just too cute.
I loved Hayden and Tobias....their story came together nicely...the plot was better than the 1st book..this is a wonderful series and I can't wait til the next book!!!!
I liked this second entry into this world. It was longer than the first book and still as good. I did have some unresolved questions that I would have liked answered but overall a good book.
