From New York Times bestseller J. S. Hope comes the fourth part of her paranormal romance serial, Lord of Misrule!

Reporter Alessandra "Alex" Donati is in Venice chasing the story of her career. While the city prepares for the Christmas festivities, Alex is hot on the trail of a group that celebrates a much older - and much darker - festival, one that offers passion and sacrifice in exchange for power and wealth...

Returning from their impromptu raid of the local police precinct, the Goodfellows discover that Alex has vanished, seemingly into thin air.  Afraid for their friend's life, they set out to discover what happened to her and in the process take the battle directly to the enemy.

Alex, meanwhile, finds herself an unexpected "guest" of Sebastian Assante, who makes her an offer - attend the Festival as his honored guest so she can see for herself exactly what its all about.  It's an offer she can't refuse and soon she finds herself caught up in the passion and spectacle that the centuries-old event uses to snare the unwary...

My Thoughts - 3.5 out of 5 Unicorns - I more than liked it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review

The cover is the same but in blue this time and looks awesome, but purple is still my favorite one :)

This is a serial novella series, and this is the 4th part. This serial is not complete, so if you do not like waiting, you might want to hold off until the 5th part publishes and there is no waiting :)

The imagination and creativity in this series is amazing. I know I’m not going to say this right, but of all the parts so far this is not my favorite, and I will tell you why. I have lost some of respect I had for Alex’s character and maybe that caused more of a disconnect. However, the brothers are awesome, and I love how they will do anything to save Alex. I guess even though I love my strong female leads who save themselves…..I find it sexy when the men are just as strong and willing to go the extra mile :)

There is not much action in this part which could also have contributed to this not being my favorite because the other parts had action galore. I do think the next part will clear some things up and probably make everything fit together that I’m probably not seeing right now, so I am definitely looking forward to more!! I really want to learn more about the brothers and their parents….are they who I think they are or am I wrong? Is there something more to these brothers than we know? It is so intriguing but frustrating at the same time :)

I recommend this series to readers who want mystery and intrigue and especially if you have read the other parts and enjoyed them, you do not want to miss out :)

**Please note there may be spoilers for Lord of Misrule Ritual, Revelation and Relentless**

Rapture, well I was certainly raptured with this one. Getting closer to the end of the series and still so much is happening. It seems Cody is determined to save Alex, they have developed some feelings after their encounter. So another fabulously action packed episode and the heat increases and the intrigue builds. I’ve certainly added J.S. Hope to my favourites list and look forward to the finale of Lord of Misrule and what comes next.

The Goodfellow brothers are on the hunt, chasing down leads and clues to find the location of this year’s Festival. Knowing their time is running out, they turn up the heat and their actions become more physical.

Alex seems to be making a deal with the devil himself. She may finally get the answers about the Festival up close and personal, but at what cost? Her first encounter with Sebastian Assante and she’s having difficulty looking for clues or proof for her innocence and her story. The scene around her has Alex captivated, everything forgotten but the feeling inside her body.

The Goodfellow twins discover there are supernaturals around every corner, but will they make it to Alex before it’s too late? Where is the Festival being held this year? Has Cody fallen for Alex? Will Alex fall under Sebastian’s spell and forget why she’s really there?

What an ending! This is a fascinating series and I would love them to be a little longer. Only because I want more of these fantastic characters and more sizzling scenes between them. I NEED Reckoning now, have to find out what happens. The final instalment will be amazing, everything will come together and we’ll finally find out what really happens at the Festival and if Alex will come out alive. Truly all erotic readers need to pick up this quick series, it’s just a lot of fun, action packed and intriguing. Quick grab the first for free.

A STAR IS BORN AND STILL BURNS BRIGHT !!!
Wow! I love it! It's just so darn good! I began following Lord of Misrule after I read Part One included in the Kiss of Christmas Magic bundle. I was so impressed with the amazing talent and exceptional skill of this new best selling author duo, I immediately preordered Part Two and eagerly awaited it's release. And I have not been disappointed yet! The power and momentum of the original release has been carried forward brilliantly in Part Two, Part Three and again in Rapture, the fourth installment of this amazing new serial. Beautiful reporter, Alex Donnati, has returned home to the mysterious city of Venice for the story of a lifetime - the dark, secret celebration masked by the Saturnalia Festival. She wants to prove that she has what it takes to be a successful journalist and outshine her male counterparts. But at what cost? After witnessing the murder of Paolo Galvan, one of the wealthiest men in Italy, she barely escapes with her life. The authorities now suspect her of Galvan's murder. Huh? She turns to once again seek the help of her childhood friend, Gianni Capabetta, a detective with the carabinieri, only to discover he has been murdered as well. With no options left, Alex turns to her unlikely savior, handsome American Cody Goodfellow, who mysteriously appeared at Galvan's estate to rescue her from certain death. Alex soon realizes that her perfectly normal world is not so perfect and certainly not so normal! Cody has an equally handsome twin brother, Robin, and both are a far sight from normal! They both work in the family business - hunting and killing supernatural monsters - Yokai. What? Shifters, shape shifters, mages, vampires, supernatural mafia doms - monsters - where does it end? What the heck? Her brain is on overload but her reporter's instincts are fired up and the game is on! But Alex's story may come at a very steep price and that price may be her life. Cult leader, Sebastian Assante now has his sights set on Alex. She has been drugged and kidnapped by Assante's goons. And now Alex seems to be under Assante's spell. Finally - the big bad wolf has his "little bird" right where he wants her! Oh my! Has Assante worked his magic on Alex? Will she be blinded by the sexually charged attraction she feels for Him? Will Cody and Robin be in time to save her? Or will this job cost them their lives as well? Sexy alpha males-check! Beautiful sexy female reporter-check! Wonderful cast of characters-check! Supernatural creatures-check! Murder, magic, kidnapping, danger, mystery, suspense, intrigue and sex-check! Well Written! Smart! Original! Powerful! Compelling! Captivating! Exciting! Action Packed! Thrilling! Addictive! Mysterious! Suspenseful! Enticing! Arousing! Sexy! And a whole lot more! It just gets better and better! I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! I am officially a fan! I can hardly wait for Part Five!

I received a copy LORD OF MISRULE: RAPTURE in exchange for an honest review.

Overall rating is 3.5 due to grammatical errors.

This episode leaves the reader wanting more of Sebastian Assante. He's the traditional tall, dark and handsome but wicked has to be added as well. The third installment of this serial had left me wanting to know more about his character and now that is finally happening. He is the addition to the cast of characters needed to spice up this tale. The unfortunate part is that there isn’t any extensive background on Sebastian or the rest of the Yaokai (we have been introduced to a couple of different kind in this serial). Alex has been kidnapped by Assante's men on his orders because 1) she is a witness to Paola Galvan murder (who was killed by Assante who it seems whose a doppelganger as well as a wolf-ish shifter) 2) she has been selected by Assante as The Lord of Misrule. I like the fact that a woman is the ‘Lord of Misrule’ and not one of the male characters. The tile is very masculine in nature and Alessandra is very much a lady. A very ‘wishy-washy lady’ but she is most definitely female. While the Goodfellow twins search for 'poor Alex', she realizes that she is only one option. She has to go along with whatever Sebastian requests in order to get out of current predicament. It is also during this time that the reason she is in Venice (the exposé she is supposed to be writing) resurfaces and she is also willing to go along with whatever Sebastian wants to get her story. It seems that she has a weak constitution and before long she’s nothing more than a ‘cat in heat’. For a woman in dire peril Alex’s behavior doesn’t equal her reasoning. As with all heroes, the Goodfellow brothers will probably arrive in time to save Alex's virtue. If only she shared the same interest.

The Brothers Goodfellow spent most of their time searching for dear Alex with poor Cody pulling out all the stops. In this installment the author did an excellent job with mood and setting. The description/history of Plague Island was excellent and the description of the grounds of Assante’s private island (especially the description of the glass blower and the shadow play during the ball) was outstanding as well. The unfortunate part in all of this is that the story never got to the 'rapture' or whatever I expected the word to mean. There were other elements in the story that could be described as rapturous (decadent bath/pampering from head to toe, personal tour of property, special artisans especially brought in for the heroine) but it wasn't what was expected.

It will be interesting to see where the story leads to next.

Alex is in more danger than she thinks! Cody and Robin have returned to the hotel only to find Alex gone. Their research and computers are destroyed and Gionni's laptop is gone. Cody questions people in and around the hotel and is told that Alex left with himself and his brother. This immediately tells them that Sebastian Assante is responsible for Alex's kidnapping.

Alex comes to many hours later in a strange bed and is greeted by Assante. Even though she doesn't trust the man, her ambition over-rides her good sense and she agrees to accompany him to a party that evening. She is still determined to find out the truth about the Saturnalia Festival and it's possible connection to the disappearences of young women. The parties erotic entertainment soon has Alex propositioning Assante. He turns her down saying they must wait until the perfect time. Hmmmm, sounds sinister to me.

I can't wait for the next book to find out if Cody and Robin will be able to save Alex. This series just keeps getting better!!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

I enjoyed reading this book but I'm really starting to question Alessandra (Alex) her whole main reason for going to Italy was to get this big story on the Saturnalia Festival that was going to set her apart and help her make a name for herself. She ended up getting kidnapped by Sebastian Assante you would think that should be a little bit more cautious when it comes to him Cody and Robin already informed her that the guy is dangerous but she's living it up like she's on vacation practically letting her hormones rule her that didn't get her in trouble the first time she did that and I worry about poor Cody and Robin who's going out of their way to come to her rescue. I just really hope in the next book that she really gets it together because I'm really starting to wonder about her.

Alex is kidnapped and swept into a high of lust never imagined. She wants to get the story of a lifetime, The Saturnalia Festival in Venice, and she finally gets the chance by being a part of the lust and rituals of that dark festival.

The new Lord of Misrule Sebastian Assante is a man that exudes lust and passion, will Alex be able to resist him, or will she be caught up in all the lust of the moment?

In the meantime, the Goodfellow twins are on a mission to rescue Alex from the clutches of Assante and the yokai

This is a wonderful series full of lustful thoughts and suspense.

I received this book for an honest review.

This is the 4th book in the series.

So we leave off with Alex being taken by Sebastian's men. In this book the Goodfellow's returned from the raid to find Alex gone. They start planning for her safe return, which gives a new insight into the brothers.

While they are planning, Alex finds herself at Sebastian's house as a "guest of honor". He offers her something she cannot turn down. The night at a party, the evening entertainment feels Alex with need for Sebastian. Is this real or not? What exactly is Sebastian doing to Alex and what are his plans?

This book sets us up for hopefully an explosive part five. Cody and Robin return to the hotel to find Alex is missing. After searching, they figure the yokai have taken her. This volume basically has the guys figuring out where Assante has taken her and where the festival will be held.

Meanwhile, Assante makes a deal with Alex. She will be his date to the festival and she can write the story which brought her to Venice.

Not much going on in this book, but I'm hoping volume five makes it all worth it in the end.

* An ARC of this book was received for an honest review.*

After reading Volumes 1-3 of this series I was looking forward to reading Lord of Misrule: Rapture. This book picks up right where Volume 3 left off and my only complaint about this book is that it was slow-paced. Where the first 3 books kept you guessing what was going to happen, this book was a quick read and had no action. Made me think that J.S. Hope has something up her sleeve. I am looking forward to reading the 5th and final book in this series as I have so many questions that need answers to.

Lord of Misrule book 4. Alex, Cody and Robin continue on their quest to unravel what is behind the Saturnalia Festival. While Cody and Robin were doing some investigating at the precinct, Alex is kidnapped by Sebastian Assante. Cody and Robin prepare to rescue Alex. Alex in the meantime is being drawn under Assamte' spell. I hope Alex realizes what's happening before she does something she regrets. Can't wait for the next book.

This one was slower for me the the last 2 but better then the 1st :) I enjoy seeing where this is going. I thought this was going to be the last one but from the looks of it there are more to come, which makes me very happy. I loved how everything is playing out.. the characters are getting better as well. A lot of stuff going on and at the same time not much goes on. It sets it up for an amazing 5th story though. I'm glad the author sent me it to read

Robin and Cody return to the hotel to find Alex missing. Upon further investigation they find she has been kidnapped by men who look exactly like them. They go to extreme lengths to get a lead on where they have taken her. Meanwhile Alex isn't being treated like a prisoner, in fact she is at a most erotic party begging to have sex!

This has been one of the best serials I have read so far this year. I usually don't like short serial novellas, but this one has been keeping me on the edge of my seat with each installment. I can not wait for the next one to be released and don't put it down until it is finished. I hope J.S. Hope keep writing more stories like this in the future.....I will certainly keep reading them!

Here we continue, the story getting more erotic and captivating as it progresses. One is mentally captured without realizing it as the tale unfolds. Where will it take us? Time will tell.
