TaeTay and Thurston, unconventional match
Politics and perception. Liberal vs Conservative. Elements that are a part of the fabric between TaeTay and Thurston. Honestly, I was taken back by the opening of the story. I wanted to finish just to see how Olivia was going to weave this tale without isolating a particular demographic of people. She was able to do so by the character of TaeTay where you get to see there is more to a name. I like how Thurston had to deal with perception and how it not being reality. It was a feel good story that is applicable for today, and is relatable. Look forward to more of Olivia's stories.

Mrs. Gaines novels will cause out loud laughter. This book was no exception. Wasn’t a fan of the heroine’s name. So absolutely ghetto. But TaeTay was good people. Very admirable woman, very caring and knows how to navigate Compton, but the area was overrun by gangs. Tae is taking care of her five year old nephew, and the gang members are seeking him out as a new recruit. What is Tae willing to do to save her nephew and not lose him the way his parents lost their lives. To her drama filled life, she is invited to a full life change. The congressman is quite a story with a full staunch background in uppity ness. Rich family, well connected family and friends, and political ambitions. The sudden availability of a house seat demands that Thurston Cromwell takes a bride. And he is not agreeable to acceptable women of his ilk. But there is one little lady in Compton that has his full attention. This novel wasn’t filled with too many swear words-but they were included as usual. The

Fun and light
I appreciate OG’s writing and this fits right in with a fun story of love found in a different way.
Although I always appreciate a hot, steamy love scene with all the particulars, OG kept this woefully dry as 2 week old wonder bread.

I knew this would be fire
Like always it takes me a while to jump back in but once I do! I love this author. I love this story not quite mail order but close. I'm on to the next book. Please make this into Audible with a real narrator and AI until we get one with emotion.

Surprised
This was another good read. I was actually surprised by some of the twist and turns. I really liked the vibe of this book. It is amazing how opposites can attract.

I laughed so hard !!!
Oh my words!!!! This book was so entertaining, I laughed until I had tears rolling down my face and could hardly catch my breath. Thank you Mrs. Gaines.

Not good enough
I have loved Mrs. Gaines books up until this point. I believe she should take a look at some of her own permitting to see how to get it right. Something major should have been addressed in this book. The ending left me dry and expecting the rest of the books to be just as dry. I hate cliffhangers but I love sequels. She had it perfect with the Blackmores tile she started making them a cliffhanger. Looks like I am moving on. I read a lot and love a sweet short story especially when someone has talent like Olivia, but all of these cliffhangers becomes to much. I though I had found a Simon in the rough.....what a loss.

A Pleasant Read- BRAB ONLINE BOOK CLUB
I found Thurston and TaeTay story to be a pleasant read that was hilarious at times. They met when he went to California to raise funds for a campaign. He got very sick and Tae came to his rescue and took care of him.
His father wanted him to run for office and was determined to find him a bride. After the parade of women proved futile, he decided to propose to Tae by mail. It is a fun read.

Humorous and touching... I loved this story story.
Taetay, Thurston , and Douglas a very unlikeky family but a very Right family. This story is about assumptions, love in the lost inminente places and the joy of love from and for a child. It is humorous and touching. I Will be looking for more stories from Miss Olivia. Great job. This is a must read.

Way to short, yet enjoyable
I really enjoyed the story I wish it would've been longer cause I would've liked to seen where their life went with them learning each other and learning how to be with each other, seeing what type of father Thurston would be, what kind of person Douglas turned out to be, if they would have more children things like that but I really liked it.

A Hilarious Romantic Comedy
My Mail Order Wife ( The Value of a .An Book 1) is a hilariously funny romantic comedy that earned a rating of four stars. The couple met under bizarre circumstances when the man had a severe case of stomach virus and the woman took care of him. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romantic comedy.p

When I want a good laugh, Ms. Gaines does it for me!
Loved Thurston and Taetay, lol! Ms. Gaines always gives you a heart-warming book, with lots of humor. Loved this book. Now on to the next book.
