- This book is #3.5 for the A Legacy of Storms and Starlight series. It can be read as a standalone as it is entirely from the MMC's POV, but will spoil the events of books 1-3 of the series. -

A past he can’t recall. A future he can’t predict.
Holt has fought tirelessly for the freedom of the Fae for as long as he can remember. Only he can’t remember all of it. Gaps in his memories and the truth of how his days unfold are becoming harder to hold on to.
His debt to Marcus—a bargain gone awry—has cost him everything, and with each new day that passes, freedom is falling further from Holt’s reach.
When a beautiful half Fae with violet eyes tumbles into his life, he begins to feel a sense of rightness that has evaded him for years. But Marcus has his eyes set on Zylah too, and keeping her safe might mean letting her go.
Bringing down a tyrant is the solution to all his problems, and Holt will stop at nothing to see Marcus fall.
Even if it costs him his life.

A Legacy of Secrets is for anyone who loves a Male POV and the following tropes: tortured hero, slow burn romance, yearning, who did this to you, he'll burn the world for her.
- Releasing exclusively via Kickstarter, beginning June 15th 2026 -
Victoria lives on England’s breathtaking south coast. She loves fairy tales, myths and legends, and grew up creating stories both in words and pictures. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her exploring with her husband and their two dogs, swimming in the English Channel and trying her hardest not to unalive her out of control collection of house plants.
This was my first ever @victoriajprice book I’ve ever read and it did not disappoint! The banter between Holt. Marcus and Zylah! Omg. This was so swoon worthy and the scenery described in the book was so vivid I could actually visualise myself right there with the characters. It was brilliant. I had the best time. It took me 2 whole days to read it because the writing was addictive. My Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. (via Behind the Pages PR)
4.25 stars
I really enjoyed getting to see Holt's POV and seeing all the emotions he was going through. THE YEARNING. The pacing moves right along keeping the story going. I also felt he and Zylah had great banter. Loved their found family as well.
I also like that there's a reading guide in the back if you wanted to tandem read this with the rest of the series.
*Thank you to Victoria and her team for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for this honest review*
A Legacy of Secrets is an emotionally rich fantasy that blends adventure, magic, and character growth with impressive depth without being too predictable. This was my first Victoria J. Price novel (despite this being book 4 in the series, though I definitely plan on reading back from the start eventually), and I think this book has proven that Victoria excels at creating compelling relationships and character dynamics within a vivid fantasy world, while the story explores themes of grief, resilience, and hope without losing its sense of momentum or feeling clunky and disjointed. The pacing balances quieter, character-focused moments with high-stakes tension and plenty of romantic steam which I love. TLDR; Fans of character-driven romantasy will find plenty to love here.
A Legacy of Secrets is definitely that and more! This Romantasy has adventure, memory loss, protection, slow burn, and more. This story follows Holt’s POV of this epic Fantasy A Legacy of Storms and Starlight series. Holt has been through a lot with gaps in his memories and the willingness to free the fae. He would do anything to protect them and when he meet Zylah, she becomes more. I love the longing and protectiveness Holt has for Zylah, but also how much his life might be at stake with his choice. It really makes their story more intriguing. Their story gave me all the feels and really pulled me in!! I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more
I voluntarily leave my honest review of this gifted advance copy.
I absolutely LOVE Victoria's opening sentences, in every single book! It immediately catches hold of me, hooks me right in and sets the stage for another fabulous read. Having read the prior 3 books in this series, and loving the characters so very much, I was thrilled this book was from Holt's POV. And hells bells, I just adored him even more! Ms Price gave a vividly detailed insight of who he is, I "saw" his trauma, I "felt" his every thought, to the point that I was in agony for him. Bound to the vile king, Arnir and by proxy, Marcus, he has to do their bidding, whether he wants to or not. And he sure as heck doesn't! But with a huge chunk of memory missing, the how this debt was incurred, he has no idea nor explanation for. He simply obeys. Grudgingly. While keeping this all secret from those who actually do mean something to him. This denying himself of, well, so flipping much! He has the entire world on his shoulders, and he's playing a dangerous game. On one hand being the "weapon" Arnir and Marcus want, on the other he's the leader of the resistance. Oh hell, when tiny pieces of his memory surface, I wanted to howl in pain with him. Not the complete picture, but enough to turn both Holt's stomach and mine. Except it's far worse than he could even have imagined.
We meet a tormented Holt and immediately my heart is weeping, with him, for him. His churning thoughts are interrupted when he stumbles upon a young woman and a strange protectiveness comes over him. Nevermind that she's a wanted criminal, nevermind that the very king Holt is beholden to has sent his guard and assassins after her, he feels a need to keep her safe. The respect, the consideration, the sympathy he feels for what Zylah went through, taking into account her every reaction, her every flinch, easily earns Holt, in my book, the prize for the most awesome male on the planet! The miscommunication, the assumptions, well shoot, Ms Price tore my heart apart so many times whilst I was reading this book, the sacrifices Holt makes nearly undid me. His almost defeatist stance nearly outdid me. When Zylah asked him “Why does everyone else’s safety matter above your own?” his reply, “Because I have nothing to lose.” tore a sob from me. His sudden realisation of what Zylah was to him and that he could do nothing about it, well shoot, I sobbed even harder! Victoria was relentless, one attack after another, pounding away at the characters and me, not a moments reprieve from the onslaught of events. He endured so much at the hands of both Marcus and Jesper, and when Aurelia entered into the mix, I was horrified at their collective brutality.
Oh do I love Zylah's spunk! My word, she's just escaped an awful situation that had her very skittish, she's just escaped an execution, hers BTW, but, as traumatic as these events were, and are, she's no freaking wallflower! She's strong willed, resolute, tenacious, she is highly, highly opinionated and dear lordie, she's magnificent! Heck did I laugh at the banter! Zylah setting down rules for Holt to adhere to, Holt taking it all in his stride and there's the tiny owl Zylah refused to cast aside, who's simply adorable. And glory me, when I discovered there's so much more to him, my jaw dropped! The discovering, the uncovering, the tension and emotions, frek, fantabulous! The amount of guilt Holt and Zylah carry could fill an entire continent! The sheer scope of this read is a testament to this author's talent, her way with words, her meticulous penmanship, are once more evident in this book. The suspenseful world building is off the charts spectacular, this book is compulsive reading at it's best. This book nearly crippled me emotionally, but, just as I was about to buckle, Ms Price threaded my tattered heart together with the most incredible flair possible! Riveting, devastatingly addictive and 100% unputdownable!
This book is in 3 parts, each part corresponding to the books in the previous 3 books. Even had I not read the previous books, which I had a few years ago, this one reads absolutely smoothly on it's own, at no time did I feel I 'needed' the other books, or that I was missing anything. Except... I decided to enhance my experience, which made the read even more special.l, because I read it in tandem with the chapters, according to the author suggested reading guide at the back of the book. You have no idea how much more spectacular it was doing so, it elevated my reading pleasure 1000%! Characters I thought I "knew" stood out even more when presented from a different POV. Like Raif, like Rose, like Jilah, like Rose and so many others. Just fantabulous! The author does a phenomenal job of uncovering the mystery behind Holt's memory loss, laying down brick by brick, until the entire wall is visible. So credible did she wing the narrative, so shrouded with just glimpses, until she opened it up like a flower in bloom, so much action of the soul, as well as the physical action, I was gnawing at my fingertips. These two tortured souls, Zylah and Holt, finally saw the forest through the trees, after much travelling, after much soul searching, and after many gobsmacking revelations, this is definitely a book of discoveries. Expertly spun, superbly brought together. Coming to the end of this book, read together with the chapters the author recommended, not only wrapped itself around my soul with warmth, it enhanced the read 100 fold!
A huge thank you goes to Victoria J. Price, for letting me read an e-ARC of A Legacy of Secrets! This is a companion novel to the trilogy, A Legacy of Storms and Starlight, & recounts all of the events within the series from the POV of the MMC (Holt). What does this mean for you? You can either read this book as a standalone, or read it right after the original trilogy—clearly, that makes this a win-win situation!
Holt knows he's never stopped fighting to save the Fae & restore their freedom. But there are gaps in his memories, & his ability to recall the past is getting ever harder. And with a debt to Marcus having gone awry, Holt’s days are spent fighting for a future he can no longer guarantee he’ll live to see. The stakes are rising, & the toll on Holt’s health is mounting, but when Zylah enters his life? Holt knows he will do anything to protect this half Fae—even if that means letting her go. Can Holt find a way to claw back his memories? Is it even possible for him to bring down Marcus, who’s now amassed so much power? Or will everything crumble about Holt, losing not only his one chance at happiness, but ultimately his life?
A Legacy of Secrets is the romantasy gift that just keeps giving. Holt is the epitome of a walking green flag MMC, & honestly? We do not get enough of those! This Fae is a tortured hero who'll sacrifice himself with no hesitation for those he loves—particularly Zylah. If you’ve loved Aragorn from LOTR, with his sweetness & strength of character (plus the ability to yearn like no other), you need to shove every other story aside & dive into this one as soon as possible.
Holt & Zylah face every obstacle, every monster, every single moment of hardship that would shatter me, & their strength lies in their ability to trust each other, to hold space & know that love is the answer. Even when the world is on fire, it is love which ensures there’s always something to be salvaged from the ashes.
It takes talent to draw readers in with 1-2 sentences on the very first page of the very first chapter. Victoria J Price has done this with every book in her Legacy of Storms and Starlight series. When she announced we were going to get a shorter book from the beloved MMCs POV only, I couldn’t wait. Even more, Victoria continued her ability to have me hooked from the first sentence of the book.
While A Legacy of Secrets provides new information, told from Holt’s POV, it does tie in many scenarios from books 1-3. You can read it as a standalone, but this entire series is worth reading. If you think you know Holt from the previous books, you are technically telling the truth. However, Victoria brings so much more depth, complexities, and layers to this man. With memories missing, he doesn’t know why he does the things he does, he just knows he has to. He has no say, whether he wants to or not, but you learn he does not want to be doing the things he’s being made to do. It was heartbreaking to read the hurt and trauma Holt begins to go through as his memories begin to slowly resurface.
Yet, we still see so much of the Holt we have come to love throughout this series. We get an insider’s look as to what he felt the first time he laid eyes on Zylah, the protectiveness it stirred inside of him. I adored getting more of his perspective on what Zylah stirs inside of him. This man literally puts everyone’s everything in front of himself and as you come to learn why…just have the tissues ready.
Reading this additional POV truly does add more depth and layers to the story already told. It definitely has me wanting to go back and re-read the series with this new information and to see how much different the scenes read. Understanding more of what makes Holt Holt solidifies the wonderful character he has been all along.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🖤Male POV ⚔️Tortured MMC 🖤Yearning ⚔️I’ll Burn the World For You! 🖤Who Did This to You?!
This book was from the MMC's POV, and I really enjoyed every part of it. Although it is stated as a standalone, events occurring in the book may spoil the previous 3 books of the series. That being said, you do not have to read the first 3 books to understand what is happening from Holt's perspective as Victoria wrote this point of view so well. I myself have not read the first 3 books. The way the book was written was fantastic, I constantly wanted to know more and understand why Holt was doing what he did and the world Victoria created felt effortless. Everything flowed perfectly, I never questioned why something was described/placed the way it was - it just made sense.
I have a soft spot for Holt - for a man who looks so broody and speaks like he doesn't care for anything, reading his POV totally changed my opinion of him. He was so patient and quiet. He's a man who yearns from afar yet won't ever let you go when you're close. It was such a satisfying read as you go through his journey of trying to remember the past even though at times, it was heartbreaking to see his constant battle with himself. I also really loved Zylah's character, she was so mysterious from the first encounter and there were plenty of times I wished I could help her forget the past. She was such a fierce female, she understood her limits and was always willing to push herself to be better. Her quick remarks and backlashes towards Holt made their banter entertaining and it was wholesome to see them both grow together and as individuals.
I definitely want to read the rest of the series after having read this book. There is so much going on and the world is amazing to be in. I cannot wait to see more of Zylah and Holt.
Note: This review is based off of my experience reading an eARC I received from Victoria J. Price and her team. This did not in anyway affect the contents of my review.
Man, it was so nice to get back to the ALOSAS world! Victoria’s books were the first that I ever ARC read for, and I was so happy to be chosen for an ARC of A Legacy of Secrets.
This book is book 3.5 in the series, as it is Holt’s (the MMC) POV of the events in books 1-3. While you could technically read this book before/without reading the trilogy, I would not recommend it because not only does it spoil the events of the trilogy, but it also in my opinion heavily relies on you having read the trilogy to understand some of the plot (especially when it gets to the events of book 3, A Legacy of Wrath and Reckoning).
Getting to go back and see Holt’s thoughts and actions throughout the series has given me an even deeper appreciation for Holt and Zylah’s relationship (one I already adored), and also a deeper appreciation for this wonderful series that Victoria gave us. I am usually not a huge fan of books from a second character’s POV because I get bored when I already know what will happen, but I didn’t really feel that here. I mostly only did in the contents for books 1 and 2, but that is only because I read those multiple times back in the day so I was very much familiar with the plot.
Knowing all of the things Holt went through and how he still always put Zylah first no matter the cost to himself, I just loved their relationship so much. I also very much loved the epilogue!!
This book is currently available through Victoria’s ongoing Kickstarter (along with special editions of the whole series!) and will be widely available in the future! I recommend it for all romantasy readers.
As it’s been a few years since I first was introduced to this story, reading it from the MMCs POV this time was still just as much of an emotional rollercoaster, if not even more so from all he endured.
You follow Holt, who’s spent a lot of his time as a bounty hunter who’s trapped into an agreement and forced to do terrible things for a fellow fae who seeks power. When he happens upon the FMC, he whisks her away from danger and helps build a life for her with his community and friends, but when his brother takes and interest, he takes a backseat and lets her find her own happiness after so much loss. Unfortunately she also sparks interest in his master and the vampire she’s accused of killing who’s not dead, all of this leading to devastation and a new struggle for who will rule this kingdom. In a race against time, he must work with the FMC to gain allies to take down the new tyrant and save their world.
The emotional devastation of reading this story from Holts POV has me all over the place, even though I knew what was coming, I still couldn’t have prepared for all this book made me feel! I loved seeing him sacrifice anything for the people he cared about and that no matter what he went through, he always put others first, even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness. Seeing the bond grow between him and Zylah and how he realized what it was long before she did and let her find her way to him was so heartbreaking but also beautiful when it finally came together. I loved getting this new POV of the story and overall my rating 4.6/5!
Thanks to the author for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!
I absolutely loved the original A Legacy of Storms and Starlight trilogy, so I was so excited to ARC read this and dive back into this world through Holt’s POV. And honestly? Being inside his head made everything hurt even more.
If you’ve already read the trilogy, this could feel a little repetitive but getting Holt’s perspective adds so much more emotional depth to the story. Seeing his devotion to Zylah from his own POV completely amplified the yearning, and the emotional weight of their journey. The friends-to-mates dynamic still had me fully invested all over again, and yes, Holt remains firmly on my book boyfriend list.
What really worked for me was how much more insight we get into Holt’s motives, his struggles, and everything he endured. The tortured hero energy was absolutely immaculate. The angst? Painful. The yearning? A+
The pacing stayed strong even with already knowing many of the twists beforehand, and I actually loved revisiting some of those high-stakes moments that shocked me the first time around. There’s something very satisfying about seeing the bigger picture from another perspective.
For new readers, I’d recommend reading this as a companion to the trilogy rather than a true standalone, there’s even a helpful guide included in the back..
If you love tortured heroes, slow burn romance, intense yearning, and a man who would absolutely burn the world down for the woman he loves, this one is worth picking up.
Having a whole series (already finished) retold from a different POV can either be a fantastic addition or add very little value. I'm sitting somewhere in the middle with this one. While it can be read as a standalone, I would urge you to read the main series first. I've done that, and I noticed that without prior knowledge, there would have been quite a few gaps in certain situations. It felt like the "Why does person X suddenly have this knowledge? Where did she get that thing from?" type of situation. Having that prior knowledge gave me a much better understanding of what was happening.
The main things missing from the original series were what happened when our two main characters weren't together and the missing memories. While some of those gaps are filled when the story is shown from Holt's POV, I felt that, overall, the majority of the new content didn't add much to the story. While I appreciated what was done, I wouldn't consider this a must-read. I enjoyed the first three books and enjoyed returning to the world. On some occasions, this book helped me remember what happened and added a few extra details here and there. Did I need such a long book for that? Maybe not. But that might come down to how much you really love the characters and how much this additional perspective adds for you.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Thank you to Victoria J. Price and Behind the Pages pa for an ARC in exchange for a review honestly and freely given. This was a phenomenal read. A Legacy of Secrets is book 3.5 of the Legacy of Storms and Starlight. This book itself is from Holt’s POV for all the three previous novels in one book. It is a standalone if you have not had the chance to read the prior books but I highly recommend doing a tandem read. The author provides her recommendation on how best to so in the back of this book. It is a standalone so it is not required but I think it adds more emotional depth for the reader. The author is fantastic at world building. The book flows effortlessly as the plot is constantly pushing the reader to keep up. The MMC Holt is written in such a way that the reader goes through all his emotions and it is devastating. His path to remember his past and by the time things start to click together, it’s gut wrenching. It’s just an amazing journey. He truly puts absolutely everyone especially Zylah first. I also loved Zylah’s character. She is feisty and fierce. The banter is fantastic between all the characters. Like I said before the tandem helped me to fall into the world and characters in such a way that I didn’t want my time with Victoria’s world to end.
A Legacy of Storms and Starlight is one of my favorite Romantasy trilogies and I fell even more in love with this tortured hero while reading A Legacy of Secrets!
A Legacy of Secrets is the MMC’s POV, covering events of the first 3 books of the series. It can be read as a standalone but will spoil the events of books 1-3 of the series.
Tropes: ✨️ green flag MMC ✨️ he'll burn the world down for her ✨️ bakes her favourite cakes + braids her hair ✨️ all the yearning ✨️ tortured hero ✨️ who did this to you ✨️ slow burn 🌶️
If you’re looking for a man who *yearns* and would burn it all down to ensure the freedom and happiness of the woman he loves, you need to meet this MMC!
He and Zylah have been through so much adversity, grief, and trauma. I loved seeing their romance slowly unfold and getting deeper insight into everything he’s endured through his perspective.
Their HEA is hard-fought and reliving their story was just as emotionally devastating and soul-stirring as the first time. The added epilogue is *everything*. Do not miss out on this masterpiece!
Huge thanks to the author for the review copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This is my 5th Victoria Price book and my 2nd ARC opportunity. And I JUST LOVE the worlds Victoria creates. The depth of the characters, the storytelling, the very real and imaginable conflicts… I am a huge fan.
The Legacy of Storms and Starlight trilogy takes you into a world of Fae, Humans, Vampires, creatures, and some incredible family dynamics. Fighting for freedom, finding your place, discovering you are and are meant to be are done so well in this series.
For this 3.5 POV, I was so happy to get a glimpse into Holt’s mind. Reading it had me falling in love all over again and it was thrilling seeing things from a different perspective and anticipating what I knew would happen next. The layers of complexity added from Holt’s backstory and history was something I just did not see coming and had me appreciating the dynamics between the characters even more.
I recommend reading this in tandem with the others as it has such a great spin on the perspectives and fills in little tidbits that you didn’t know you wanted until you knew there was another point of view.
I was given an Advanced Readers Copy, but all thoughts and reviews are solely my own. Even without an ARC, I’d recommend Victoria’s books all day!
✨What if the only way to save the person who makes you feel whole is to completely erase them from your life?
A Legacy of Secrets by Victoria J. Price follows Holt, a fierce warrior fighting for Fae freedom who is quite literally losing pieces of his own mind. He’s got these massive, frustrating gaps in his memory thanks to a terrible bargain with a tyrant named Marcus. Just when things look bleakest, Zylah, a stunning half-Fae with violet eyes, tumbles into his life, and suddenly the fog starts to clear.
My honest thoughts: The tension in this book is elite. The stakes feel incredibly high because Holt isn't just fighting an external villain; he's fighting his own fading mind. Watching him try to protect Zylah from the same tyrant holding his leash kept me flipping pages way too late into the night. It’s an entertaining, emotional ride filled with sacrifice, secrets, and a magic system that keeps you guessing.
If you want a fast-paced fantasy romance that delivers on both plot and major pining, give this one a read!
✨️Thank you Behind the Pages and Victoria J. Price for sharing A Legacy of Secrets with me!
Thank you to Victoria J. Price and Behind the Pages LLC for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A Legacy of Secrets completely pulled me into Holt’s story. Getting to experience the world through his perspective added so much emotional depth, especially as he struggles with fading memories while continuing to fight for the freedom of the Fae.
The banter throughout the book was one of my favorite parts, balancing the heavier moments with genuine warmth and connection. Holt is a hero carrying impossible burdens, yet his determination to protect those he loves never wavers.
When Zylah enters his life, everything changes. Their relationship develops against impossible odds, and watching Holt choose her safety above his own happiness made every moment between them even more meaningful.
The rising stakes, the emotional weight of Holt’s declining health, and the constant uncertainty of what the future holds kept me invested from beginning to end. This was a beautiful story of sacrifice, hope, and fighting for a future that may never come.
I'll start by saying that I read the books several years ago and it's still one of my favorite fantasy series; it remains one of my top favorite books. It was fun revisiting this world and these characters from another POV, especially the events of the third book; I was dying to know his side of the story.
Holt is pure perfection. The emotional devastation you feel, knowing that he's fighting blindly, with gaps in his memory, losing more and more of the ability to remember what's happening, is overwhelming, even knowing how the story ends... I hated reading everything related to Raif.
Victoria has a beautiful way of giving depth to the characters. Their conflicts are very relatable to real life, but she describes things in a way that makes you feel like you're right there with them, in this magical world.
It's a long read, but I highly recommend it; it has everything: action, romance, family, self-discovery, self-improvement, politics, and different creatures in a super interesting magical world.
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book, thank you Victoria and team for the great opportunity.
I can’t begin to describe how much I loved this book!
It’s so refreshing to read a book written in the MMC PoV. After having binge read the first three books before starting my ARC read of this one, everything was fresh in my mind. It was fascinating to read scenes from Holt’s perspective. Oh how that male suffered, so much more than I think even Zylah ever realised. His dedication to doing the right thing for Zylah, even if it would cause him total heartbreak brought a tear to my eye. His murky awareness of his having his free will taken away from him, it was harrowing to read at times. Holt’s utter devotion to Zylah, his thoughtfulness, the angst between was I think even hotter from this perspective than Zylah’s! I think he has to definitely make it into my top 10!!
“I’m in love with you, Zylah. And I have loved you for far longer than I had any right to.”
The whole series is a brilliant read. The plot, the characters, the back and forth between Zylah and Holt. I loved it all, highly recommend!
A Legacy of Secrets is book 3.5 in the A Legacy of Storms and Starlight series, whilst it can be read as a standalone with spoilers of books 1-3. I personally would recommend reading it alongside the trilogy there is a handy guide at the back of the book.
Having previously read the original A Legacy of Storms and Starlight trilogy I was so excited to read this from Holt’s POV. I absolutely loved seeing everything through his eyes, the yearning, his total and utter dedication for Zylah, wait did I mention the yearning?
Reading the massive twists and hard hitting moments all over again from Holt’s POV somehow hit harder.
The world building is brilliant and Zylah is a force to be reckoned with. She is such a great character. I just love the chemistry between her and Holt.
I absolutely adore this series and I want to re-read the whole trilogy again now.
Thank you to the author and behind the pages PA for the eARC.
Zylah's story already had us - but seeing Astaria through Holt's eyes is something else entirely.
Everything you thought you understood about those moments from the original trilogy shifts when you're finally inside his head, feeling the weight of every choice he made, every silence he kept.
The nostalgia hit hard, and before long the only logical course of action was to go back to the beginning and reread the whole series. 🫠
Victoria J. Price gives Holt the space he deserves. He is no longer the steady, unreadable presence at Zylah's side - here he is raw, complicated, and worth every page fans of the trilogy have been waiting for.
For anyone who loved the series: this is the companion you didn't know you needed. And for anyone new to Astaria - start with Zylah, or the tandem read. You'll thank yourself later.
I received an advance reader copy from the author and am sharing my honest review.
This book was everything!! It was very chunky, but I loved every second of it. I’m absolutely in love with Holt. His POV was the sweetest 🥹🥹 I mean there was so much he did for Zylah and I loved reading it. I genuinely can’t express how much I love Holt. He is so patient, gentle and sweet. He is absolutely the perfect book boyfriend. However, reading everything he went through was heart breaking 💔 I definitely sobbed through a good portion of the book. I’m just so happy he got his happy ending and saw his dream come true. And the last few chapters were a bit extra from the last book, which I needed because I love Zylah and Holy so much. And that spice 🔥🔥 It was so good to read it from his POV too 😩😩 AND THE YEARNING?!? It was top tier!! No notes, this was perfection!!
Thank you Victoria J Price for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are honest, and I am leaving a review voluntarily.
Hello, people! First of all, let me mention that this book is #3.5 in the A Legacy of Storms and Starlight series. It is my first reading contact with the author's writing and I am excited. As you can see, it is a book that stands alone and within the pages several scenes from the previous books pass. And for this reason, I will definitely look for the previous books in the series. Here we see the story of Holt, whom I loved very much. It has everything I look for in an MMC. The world building is wonderful and the plot is suspenseful. Especially since I did not know what had preceded it. Her writing is vivid, captivating, enjoyable and fast. As for her characters, they are well developed and have depth, as is the story.
Thank you very much to the author and PA @behindthepagespa for the eARC!
I received this as an advanced reader copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Yes yes yes! I absolutely loved this series from Zylah’s POV and now reading the whole thing from Holt’s, YES! Getting to see what Holt was doing when he wasn’t on page with Zylah, seeing how quickly he realized he was in love with her, and reading all the inner thoughts and monologues before bond was in place was just the cherry on top of this amazing series. I loved seeing Holt war with himself about Zylah and Raifs relationship, his struggle with his greater power, and his love for Zylah, thinking she deserved more than him. He’s so in tune with her feelings and safety, he ALWAYS makes sure he has consent for everything when it comes to Zylah, and he just loves so fiercely even when obstacles get in his way. Holt will always be one of my top book boyfriends I just love him so much.

(I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review)
Unfortunately, this book just wasn’t for me (and full disclaimer I have not read the previous novels in this series). The writing was very well done but I would have to disagree that this can be read as a standalone. There was so much of this world that I felt like I was missing out on and I just was not able to connect with the characters. Without the context from the previous books, I will say the characters were well developed and I was mostly able to keep up with the story. But for me, it didn’t really pick up until well over the halfway mark. I would recommend this series as from what I read with this book it did intrigue me. I think that by going back to the beginning I would appreciate this story much more reading this as a bonus novel and not a standalone.
ARC Read This was my first book in this series so I went into it completely blind. It was so refreshing having the story told from the MMC’s POV and you really do fall in love with Holt. I felt such a sadness for him, and despite him trying his best to be the good guy, I wanted to shake him and yell “just tell her how you feel!” There are moments that are a little repetitive and it can feel slow paced at times but it really picks up. With such expansive world building, getting introduced to so many characters did get confusing sometimes. But these are characters you can’t help but root for and there’s such great banter. When we got to the penultimate moment I was worried that it had been rushed, until I realised just how much of the book I had left and the ending is so satisfying!
Just finished A Legacy of Secrets by Victoria J. Price and wow… this one completely pulled me in.
Told through Holt’s POV, this story gave me everything I love—emotional depth, yearning, incredible world building, and banter that made me smile right in the middle of heartbreak. Holt absolutely shattered me in the best way, and Zylah was fierce, unforgettable, and impossible not to root for. Watching the pieces come together made this such an addictive read.

Thank you to Victoria J. Price, my lovely PA Sarah, and @behindthepagespa for the opportunity to read and review
I had been irritably waiting for this book since the author announced it and it did not disappoint.
This is such a sweet, heart-wrenching book. Peak angst. I absolutely loved it and could not put it down. Seriously. I maaaay have sneakily read it at work it was so good.
Holt's story is everything you've wanted in a MMC POV companion book and added so much depth to the main trilogy while shining a light on the more nebulous parts of the book. If you've enjoyed ALOSAS, you'll loved this.
A Legacy of Secrets was a really enjoyable fantasy read that kept me invested from the beginning. I loved uncovering the secrets alongside the characters and trying to piece everything together as the story unfolded.
The world was easy to get immersed in, and I especially enjoyed the mix of intrigue, magic, and character development. There was always something happening that made me want to keep reading.
A solid fantasy with plenty of twists, secrets, and enough mystery to keep me hooked until the end.
I didn’t realize when I started reading this book what an epic adventure I had started. And I enjoyed every road it went down and every plot twist along the way. The main characters were just wonderful. I loved them right from the very first. I am a big fan of this book. It was the kind of book you can settle in and enjoy. I didn’t feel the need to rush through it, but rather slowed down and enjoyed the story. Definitely one I would recommend.
