I found this and interesting story but for me, it was a little too dark for my taste. The author goes in great details of the virgin forests of North America and of how new settlements came into existence. I felt that it was a bit disjointed in many parts and the ending didn't quite pull all the loose strings tight to wrap it up well. But I did find it a book that took you into the story and one that I really couldn't put down until I finished it. Not my favorite book, but still an interesting read.
