Puppies are usually very disobedient and mischievous and Mick, a black poodle with bright eyes in its woolly face, is no exception to the rule.Children will enjoy this fascinating story, full of exciting incidents from the first day Mick was presented to Peter on his birthday, right to the end when Mick warned Peter's father that the house was on fire.
Aka N. Barr Author of the early 497 series Ladybird books. Throughout the series, the words of Noel Barr are perfectly matched by the artwork of P.B. Hickling. Almost unique amongst Ladybird series’ 497 had the same author/artist combination throughout, which gives it a continuity perhaps a little lacking in other series where different artists brought in their own style.
A lovely little illustrated hardback. This is a nice original story about a pup who needed obedience training. My parents clearly thought we would benefit from the example. However, the training was shown as not working on Mick, so why in the end did he behave? We could never figure that. This is an unbiased review.
A rather dated mid century, middle class tale of a family who SPANK a puppy when he misbehaves (as puppies do). And yet he still chooses to save them when their house catches on fire; proving that dogs give unconditional love and are better than humans.
