While it delivers well-timed reveals and a few genuine surprises up until the final chapters, it remains a grounded, emotionally charged look at how loyalty can become its own kind of prison.

Act two is lead by Ruby and follows how the crimes and Poppy’s disappearance has affected the relationship between her and Junie, her mental health as well her relationship with her fiance at the time, now husband Em, as well as the influence this all has on her daughter. The third and final act is from the POV of Poppy and her life living under the radar. It was extremely powerful and such an excellent writing technique by CC! It was so good seeing each of their different emotions and feelings and provided opportunities to question if Poppy was capable of such terrible crimes? I suspected absolutely everyone as being the murderer!
Amazing character development and the description of Saint Aurelie was perfection! I genuinely had no clue who to trust up until the final few chapters which made this so enjoyable! The use of ‘hotter/colder’ (as in the game) at the beginning of each chapter was also an amazing tension building technique that was so blooming original!
A very twisty, fast-paced psychological thriller with tension, red herrings and suspense galore! I was immediately drawn to the story from the blurb and the prologue did not let this down! A perfect, highly recommended summer read! ☀️

The story started off feeling a bit like Death in Paradise but from the point of view of the victims’ family rather than the detectives, however it soon turned into something so much better. Which made me glad.
3 sisters from Scotland are on holiday in the Caribbean with their father and his girlfriend . The youngest sister is missing and suspected of committing a double murder in the family’s luxury holiday villa.
Where is she? Why is she running away? And how do these murders link to the disappearance and death of sisters’ mother around a decade before?
Meanwhile the murder story is trending on social media and rumours are spreading fast.
7 years on, back in the UK, and the sisters’ story is being turned into a Netflix special.
The story is well read, and the narrator does an excellent job switching between many diverse and mostly believable accents.
The story takes place in both the Scottish Highlands and a small Caribbean island and I did wonder how the sisters could afford the multiple airfares to fly back and forwards at short notice between Saint Aurelie (?), London and Edinburgh.
I felt there were a couple of storylines that were not followed through, such as the unknown person who is watching and writing about the sisters on a live news blog, as well as the police detectives in the Caribbean, however, this didn’t distract from the enjoyment of listening to the book.
She is Lying is a really good read / listen, and therefore gets a good solid 4 stars from me.

@carolinecorcoranwriter new release had me gripped. I could not put it down, I read it in 3 days, it would've been faster if I didn't have to life and parent !
Everything a great thriller should be, dark, twisty, page turning with short snappy chapters, believable characters and it kept me guessing the whole way through, the ending didn't disappoint!
The whole story was so believable I was ready to look for the Netflix series in real life, at times it was so tense it had my heart racing.
If you are going to pack one book in your case this summer it needs to be this one !!

The premise of She Is Lying immediately grabbed my attention. What starts as a family vacation in the Caribbean ends in tragedy when Junie's father and his girlfriend are found dead, her sister Poppy disappears, and all signs point to her being responsible. Seven years later, the mystery is reignited when the case becomes the focus of a television special, forcing the three sisters to confront the secrets they've been keeping.
The story is told through the alternating perspectives of all three sisters, which helped build the mystery and slowly revealed what happened that night. The short chapters also kept the pages turning, even though the overall pacing was slower than I would have liked.
For me, this ended up being an okay read. I stayed invested enough to keep reading because I genuinely wanted to know what happened, but the story never fully pulled me in. The biggest twist comes near the end, but it didn't land as strongly as I'd hoped and felt a bit underwhelming in its execution.
I listened to the audiobook, and unfortunately the narration wasn't a favorite of mine, which made it a little harder to stay engaged.
Overall, She Is Lying had an intriguing setup and enough mystery to keep me listening, but the slow pacing, underwhelming finale, and narration kept it from being a standout. If you enjoy slower burn domestic mysteries with multiple points of view, this one may still be worth picking up.

She Is Lying hooked me from the very beginning with its intriguing premise: three sisters, two murders, and years of buried secrets. After their father and his girlfriend are found dead on vacation, the mystery unfolds through multiple POVs as Junie, Ruby, and Poppy each grapple with grief while searching for the truth.
Although I correctly predicted a few twists, it never took away from my enjoyment. The sisters' relationships and the way each processed their trauma felt authentic, making me just as invested in the characters as I was in the mystery. The short chapters and steady pacing kept me listening, and I appreciated that Caroline Corcoran trusted readers to piece the clues together without over-explaining.
I also loved the audiobook narration. Each sister had a distinct voice, and the subtle changes in narration made it easy to follow the shifting perspectives. The narrator's accent was an added bonus and made for a wonderful listening experience.
This was my first Caroline Corcoran novel, but it definitely won't be my last. A twisty, emotionally layered thriller that I highly recommend.

This story which is set on a French Island in the Caribbean called Saint Aurélie, follows three sisters who end up involved in a double murder investigation which shatters their family dynamic.
I found this book to have me on the edge of my seat so many times. The disappearance of the youngest sister had me questioning the whole time did she really do this? Was she actually capable of doing this? Which then made me overanalyze the other characters that the oldest sister, Junie, had in the back of her mind that could be possible suspects.
After their story becomes a TV show, Junie and Ruby are brought back together in the search for their sister, 7 years later. I also enjoyed seeing how both sisters have changed over the years, for worse and for the better, and how grief can take over your life.
I never expected any twists that the author threw at us in this book. One minute I was suspecting one character did it, then the next minute I was reevaluating everything all over again. I will definitely be reading more of this authors books in the future!

🎧: Junie and her family are on vacation in the Caribbean. All is well in paradise until her Father and his girlfriend are murdered. Soon their sister Poppy disappears and becomes the number 1 suspect. Seven years later a TV show based on the incident is about to premiere. Junie and her other sister Ruby know Poppy is innocent and are determined to find out the truth about that night. They set out to find Poppy before the rest of the world, including the police, does.
💭: This started off really good. Had all the hooks to make a great mystery and made you want to continue listening to find out the truth. This is when I have mixed feelings about this because I did love the strong start but felt the middle dragged a bit and became repetitive. There was really nothing exciting that happened while the search for Poppy was on and this is where I felt it dragged the story. It did pick up again towards the last quarter and I did appreciate how it wrapped up nicely in the end. Overall, this was just okay for me.
I will say I did enjoy the narrator and loved how they made the story come alive.

I enjoyed reading the views from each sister. Junie refuses to give up searching for the truth even years later; Ruby is trying to build a normal life but is clearly still damaged by what happened; and Poppy is living under a new identity with secrets she’s desperate to keep buried. Seeing the same situation from all three sides kept me constantly second-guessing everything and everyone.
I genuinely didn’t know who to trust for most of the book, which made it really fun to read.
Overall, this is a twisty, addictive thriller with strong emotional layers. It kept me guessing almost until the end and made me question every character along the way.

Three sisters are on a Caribbean holiday with their dad and his girlfriend of whom they were unaware until they arrived at their destination. Two of the three are sunbathing when the police approach to inform them that their father, along with his girlfriend, are the victims of murder. The third sister has disappeared and it seems that she is the prime suspect in the crime.
I'm a huge fan of thrillers and this was a good one. It's set against the backdrop of a documentary about the crimes and the tension is strung tight as we are given each sister's point of view in sections of the story. The twists were unpredictable and gripping. I especially enjoyed the immersion in both the landscape of Scotland, where the sisters live, as well as the heat of the tropics as the sisters go back and forth between locations.
I liked the suspense, the red herrings, the settings, and the characters. I rated this a 4.5 star read and highly recommend it. I consumed this on audio book and recommend the narration in this production.

I hadn’t read Caroline Corcoran’s work before this, and I can safely say that as someone who enjoys psychological murder mysteries with a destination thriller angle, the premise and prologue had me hooked. With its fast pace and short, punchy chapters, I flew through it in just a couple of sittings. I enjoyed the structure of the story, told from multiple viewpoints, and especially found the creative chapter titles effective in subtly mirroring the increasing tension in the story.
The main characters are well-rounded and add depth to the story, and even as someone who tends to go straight into detective mode, I found myself going along for the ride as the story delivered well-timed reveals and a few surprises I didn’t see coming.
While this didn't quite land as an all-time favourite for me, I’ll definitely be picking up more of Caroline Corcoran’s backlist after this, and I’m looking forward to whatever she releases next. This would be a great pick for fans of twisty murder mysteries with strong psychological and family drama elements.

She Is Lying was a twisty family thriller that kept me guessing! Three sisters are connected by a devastating vacation tragedy involving two murders, a missing sister, and secrets that have been buried for seven years. I really enjoyed the way the story moved between the sisters and gradually revealed what happened that night, with the added complication of their story becoming a television sensation. There were plenty of secrets and twists along the way, and I was definitely curious to see how everything would come together. Katherine Littrell did a great job narrating and gave the story the right amount of tension while keeping the different characters easy to follow. This book absolutely kept my interest the whole time! 3 sisters go on a Caribbean vacation with their father. 2 people are murdered, but who did it? And why? The sisters never wanted to confront it, but there’s about to be a series about the sisters’ story, so they want to find the truth before it’s out there for everyone to judge. There’s a Scottish accented narrator which is perfect for this story. It’s an interesting premise with a fun jump forward! I loved that! I could never live somewhere as cold as this location though. Especially as I’m reading this with a “feels like” temp of over 100 degrees. The sisters had such an interesting dynamic. I liked the alternating POVs and there were great twists too! Who did it!? What happened!? Thank you so much to Netgalley for my audio copy! This one publishes today!

Junie, Poppy, and Ruby are sisters who have the closest of relationships. On a vacation in the Caribbean, their father and his new girlfriend are murdered and the only suspect is Poppy. Before she can be arrest, she disappears without a trace. For Ruby, life goes on - she marries and has a daughter. But Junie is unable to believe that Poppy would commit the murders and spends years looking for her lost sister; the search consumes her. When a true crime television show revives the story, and the sisters get ever closer to finding Poppy, the question of who committed the murders has to be answered.
This book was fast-paced and kept my interest throughout. I loved the sisters' relationship - it reminded me of my love of my sister and the lengths we would go to protect each other. I really liked how the author kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had it figured out, there was a new clue that changed everything. It definitely kept me guessing. And I did not guess the ending... wow! There were a few places that dragged a bit for me, but overall, it moved along nicely. I would definitely read more by this author.

The set up of this book is brilliant. 3 parts, one part for each sister and their experience and lives after one sister is accused of murdering their dad.
This is a great psychological thriller. If you are a fan of twisty murder mysteries, then this is a great book for you. I thought the author did a great job pulling you into the story immediately and she kept me interested and engaged the entire time. The whole book you will be changing who you think actually did it.
I love the underlying theme of the bond of sisters and I think it was a beautiful take on the love between these three!

2☆ | not sure how I feel about this one. The fist half was so boring and I was sick of the book and it's characters. But the second half, I started to enjoy it much more.
The book is in three acts, each one being on each of the three sisters. And oh my god part one (Junie's part) annoyed me so much. I genuinely couldn't stand her and I don't really have an exact reason why.
As I said, the first half was so incredibly boring and I had no hopes for the rest of the book, but thankfully it did pick up some.
I did want to know what happened in the end, but I wasn't as invested as I had hoped. The ending was so underwhelming and I wasn't really shocked by the twist or anything.

This was my first Caroline Corcoran and I loved how throughout the entire book I was able to imagine myself as multiple characters. This story follows three sisters and explores what lengths each would go to protect the other and throughout the entire book I found myself thinking about what I would do to protect my own sister. Which is just about anything! The pacing was good, storyline was captivating and I think it gave the reader just enough to be on their toes constantly! I enjoyed the audiobook; it was a single narrator which left me at times a tad confused as to which character was speaking but overall good time!

This was epic. I was hooked immediately and couldn’t put this book down all the way through the last few moments of the book. Coming from a family with 3 girls, I totally understood the dynamic of the sisters and each of their very different personalities and roles in this novel.
The narrator was listed as Katherine Littrell. I have heard this narrator before and LOVED how she read this book. Great with the accents. Great with so many female characters.

The first 10% and the last 10% of this story is very interesting. In fact very exciting. The middle 80% is slow and repetitive. Two sisters traveling to this place and that place searching for their missing sister. Searching, searching and searching.
I started skimming.
The ending is really interesting with many twists and finally the answers to all the mystery.
The writing is very good but I just didn't have much interest in the years and years of searching.

The true family drama . A family goes on vacation with their father but then one sister is found holding the knife and she disappears. Everyone says she could not have done it but then years later the truth starts to show finally ….
The narrator did a good job and thought the story was done well. I appreciate the different points of view and did not get lost as it can be easy at times . The accents sometimes throw me off but she was easy to understand .
The story keeps you guessing throughout until the one who I did not guess is it. If you like family drama then read this one

She is lying by Caroline Corcoran is about 3 sisters and the murder of their father & his girlfriend whilst on holiday in the Caribbean. The youngest sister is the main suspect as she flees back to the UK and disappears. Seven years later she is still missing and their story has been turned into a tv series. I liked the relationship of the sisters and that the story is told from each sisters POV.
