Emily Michel

Emily Michel read her first fairy tale before kindergarten and has been fascinated with speculative fiction of all kinds ever since. She’s traveled the world as a military family member, calling many places in the US and Europe home. She settled in Arizona a few years ago with her husband and kids.

When not writing, Emily reads, walks, crochets, and pets her feline overlords. Emily has volunteered her time to community organizations for the past twenty years and looks forward to taking a break in 2022 to concentrate on her writing and editing, which is a nice way of saying she’s tired and needs some “me time.”

Socially awkward and extremely introverted, she nevertheless participates in social media. Check out EmiMiWriter on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and even, dear God, TikTok. If you want to be the first to know release dates, cover reveals, and sales, sign up for her newsletter.

Of course Five stars. I have been blessed on being in the arc team for this perfect book. If I could make one wish it would be for Emily to publish one book every month.
Forced proximity may be my favorite trope. Krir and Nicole are the only two beings on this planet. Krir is a geologist who is on the planet Vrul 4 to find new specimens. He loves being a geologist but he’s lonely. It is hard finding someone who would want to live this life. Going from planet to planet, away from family and friends, no social life. But Nicole is different and when Krir meets her he is immediately taken by her. Hey she’s human and doesn’t have his gorgeous blue skin but she seems perfect, otherwise! 🤭 🤭
Nicole has been held hostage, stolen from Planet Earth and now is held hostage in an intergalactic slavery ring. They hurt her constantly, give her nasty food to eat and make her work with only small amounts of time to rest. She gets out of line and she’s punished even 💀. They don’t care, the aliens will just kidnap more humans to serve them as slaves. Nicole escapes, jumps in a pod and crash lands on Krirs planet.
There is so much suspense with the slavery ring trying to find her and return her to their ship. I mean what can one nerdy geologist do to protect her.
I love everything Emily writes. This one is perfect as well, of course.

This alien romance combines action, emotional healing, and a wonderfully natural romance. The pairing of a brilliant but physically capable alien geologist with a human first responder makes for an engaging dynamic right from the beginning.

The heroine has endured a great deal after being abducted and mistreated by another alien race, and I appreciated that the story doesn't ignore the impact of her experiences. As the characters work to free the other captives, their growing partnership feels just as important as the larger mission.

What I enjoyed most was the way the romance developed. The attraction is there from the start, but instead of rushing into a relationship, the characters gradually build trust, understanding, and genuine affection. Their chemistry grows naturally, making the emotional payoff feel well earned.

Overall, this is a touching alien romance with likable characters, an engaging science fiction setting, and a romance that unfolds at a believable pace. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily recommend it to fans of slow-building science fiction romances.

A quirky but joyful tale of a human woman escaping the enslavement of nasty aliens by stealing an escape pod and crash landing on a primitive planet where yet another member of a different species discovers her and provides both material and emotional support as she recovers from her ordeal. As a first contact for Nicole and humans in general the resulting connections as she is introduced to Krir (her rescuer) are revealing and well played out from dual viewpoints. The physical connection is also explored in the early part of the story but the sudden reappearance of the first aliens sets the rest of the book in motion. After fighting their way out of this situation the heroes proceed to attempt a rescue of the other enslaved humans before they are dealt with by their captors. A surprise ending and a heart warming epilogue set our heroes on a HEA. This story is a well executed and romantic look into a life changing adventure that hopefully inspires us all to look forward to the future. I received this ARC from the author and am leaving this review of my own free will.

Emily Michel's alien series is really one for the beach bag! They are full on tension, excitement and sweet love stories.

Our main male (alien) character isn't at all interested in romance. he;s content with science and learning all he can about the harsh planet he's on, but one day a human woman arrives in an escape pod. She's escaped a horrible existence, but now she's hurt and needs protection. Her former captors are on the way! She's not so sure she can trust this nerdy alien, but what are her choices?
This easy to follow story of course has a delightful HEA. It is the second in a series and I really enjoyed this as a relaxing read with drama and excitement but also the know HEA!
Although this is the second in a series it can be read as a standalone!

Rescued by an Alien is a short and sweet novella about a human (Emily) who crashes on a planet and is rescued by a lizard-like geologist named Krir. An adorable romance blossoms between the two of them. Because it is a short story, they fall in love very quickly, but the romance doesn’t feel rushed.

The only reason it’s not 5 stars for me is because I do think the short form does a disservice to the rescue mission plot. There were too many advantageous coincidences that allow them to succeed, and that’s because there isn’t enough time or pages to develop a more realistic story.

But if you’re willing to suspend disbelief and you’re in it for the sweet alien romance, you won’t be disappointed.

*****I received an ARC of this book through Booksirens, and I want to thank the author for giving me the chance to read it.

This was a sweet little alien romance. It was cute, quick, and easy to get through. I do not have a lot to say about it, but I enjoyed it overall.

I do think it was a bit too fast-paced for my taste. Some moments could have used more development, especially when it came to the relationship and emotional connection between the characters.

Still, if you are looking for a short, light, and sweet alien romance, this could be a nice read.

I absolutely loved this book! Nicole is just so strong, and the way that I saw her slowly bond with Krir made my heart melt! Krir took his time with Nicole, making her feel special and loved, and the alien part of him? The heat? The DRAMA?? Omg that slavery ring was insane! I absolutely loved this story and can't wait for more!

Rescued by an Alien was really fun and fast paced which will make it great for anyone looking for something on the shorter side to read.
I felt the writing flowed nicely and the plot made sense. The author did an amazing job pacing their romance. It didn't feel like they were instantly in love, even though there weren't a lot of pages. I would be happy to read from this author again in the future.

Another great book! Good mix of action and love story! I really liked the characters and their chemistry. Language barrier, hurt/comfort, forced proximity, and an adorable nerdy alien, what more could you want in a great alien romance?

Can we talk for a sec about how cute Krir and Nicole are? His smarty pants attitude and she's immediately smitten with him! Their relationship grows so sweetly built on mutual competence (so impressed with her learning his written language!)
Its quick, with a lot of plot, and aliens keep being up to heinous shit, and humans fighting back!

Yes if: Remote geologist alien with slutty little glasses
No if: No fated mates excuse for how quick she falls

He's a geologist
She's an EMT
Escaped alien captivity
Slutty little glasses
