Taz:

My life is finally perfect. My dreams have all come true. I'm where I want to be with the bureau; having the career I've been planning since I did my stint in the military. I'm married to the one and only woman I've ever loved; my heart beats for her alone. Together we've made beautiful babies that I adore. I'm thirty-three years old and I'm complete.

Then one day, it all changes. Slate recruits me for a temporary assignment that is underneath the radar for a reason. The bureau hasn't sanctioned it as a priority, but Slate feels it is because of who is involved: Sue Ellen Reynard. Yeah, remember her?

Lindsey:

Our lives were perfect. Taz and I had everything we'd ever hoped for: family, careers and an everlasting devotion to one another. Suddenly nothing is the same. In a single moment, my biggest fear is realized by one phone call from Slate: an 'agent is missing'.

My agent; my Taz . . .

This is just the beginning of our long journey. Will things ever be the same again?

Taz is a lovable guy. He’s devoted to his wife and family, his career is important to him, and he’s funny and sexy. I’ve always liked him. I love how easy going he is. I love how he call’s Lindsey ‘Baby Girl’. He’s just an all round great guy. So when I heard he was getting another book, I was excited to read…. but a little nervous as well.

As much as I love reading about some of my favorite couples, there is a part of me that gets super nervous when I do. They have a happy ending… why do we have to mess with that? Lindsey and Taz’s first book wasn’t easy to read. It had some traumatic moments. This wasn’t easy to read either. Once you’ve read this story, you will know exactly what I mean. And I’m sure you will ask the same questions as me- WHY would you do this to me? There was one scene in particular… No. Just no. I couldn’t handle it.

There were lots of hard to read moments as I’ve mentioned above, but there were also some great moments that strengthen their marriage. When it's all said and done, I still love this couple lots.

Andrea’s G-Men series are sexy and action packed stories with heroines that are strong and men that are alpha all the way. I’ve really enjoyed this series as a whole. Even though there were moments that really left me upset and even struggling to finish at one point, in the end I was happy with how things turned out. I enjoy these books because even though sometimes you have to go through a lot to get to the happy, you always get there. And it makes it that much sweeter.

HOLYMOLY 4 Emotional Stars****

I love Taz although I have enjoyed and devoured each of these books and each has given me something different Taz has always been my Favourite he just has all the qualities I want when I'm reading a delicious sexy Alpha hero and anyone who loves TAZ just like me definitely will need to pick this story up.

So what's it about?
Taz and Lindsey had been through enough right in Love plus One they been through the Mill and are now at the other end where they are now happy in love, they have two beautiful children and Taz is working for the FBI enjoying their family and Lindsey is also enjoying her new career alongside her mum (Sammie) as an interior designer for Children's nursery's/playrooms and they're becoming successful doing what they love all is complete or so they thought.

Slate has asked Taz a favour to be involved in an undercover project that he wants Taz to do because there are reasons behind the task at hand and that includes a woman they both want taken down except this job brings a whole lot of new issues that leave Lindsey gasping for air and rocks their world yet again in new ways. I had my tissues out a few times in the beginning let me tell you, except I do feel Andrea handled the subject matter well and I felt for all that were concerned, especially Lindsey it took some guts for her to plough forward and start all over again to sit there and find ways to fall in love with Taz all over again and likewise for him.

 photo 5F5BF53D-6391-4D55-9EBD-64770B20279A_zpsceuadcpz.jpg

If there ever was a couple that deserved to be happy it would be Taz and Lindsey, they are the epitome of LOVE and are here to tell their tale in a fashion. I just love Taz for accepting his wrongs and being the Alpha man that he is except for his wife he is nothing but loving and gentle and just what she needs.

There are a few twists and turns, this is a G-man book so they do happen yikes there is quite a few obstacles that take place in that you can expect good ole Andrea suspense fashion. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star was purely because I have loved the HOT Alpha male theme these books have given me previously and I suppose I missed a few of those scenes in this one, I do understand why Andrea has left a lot of those out but for me I just missed it.

Lindsey ahh what do I say she's been through it hasn't she I for one love this heroine she strives to just be the right woman for her man and the same for her kids you will see a difference in this mature gal, I just love this couple and for bringing family and unity home with them. They get there and bravo to Andrea for taking a chance and giving them another HEA which was done in the right manner she will push your buttons believe me I did seethe at moments yet she made me smile at the end.

For any Taz and Lindsey fans this is a MUST read.

And if you haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for??

So, just when you think you’ve got your happy ending!!

We have already had Taz and Lindsey’s story back in book two of this series, Love Plus One.  There was SO much for them to endure as a couple during that story that my heart broke for them and I wanted only great things for them and we do start this book with them seemingly living happily ever after.  It takes place a few years after their original story – they’re married and have two beautiful children and they’re very, very happy.  But don’t get too comfortable because Andrea Smith is about to viciously rip the rug out from under this happy couple and send us on one heck of a difficult journey.

Something is about to happen to Taz while he’s undercover working a mission for Slate, something that will seriously rock the foundations of his and Lindsey’s relationship and it will have you gasping in shock and sympathy.  None of this is Taz’s fault but it’s going to be a heavy blow for Lindsey and will have you all squirming uncomfortably.  It’s a plot line that I know will unsettle a lot of readers but it’s sensitively handled and really made me pause to think.

I really felt their pain – after all that they’ve been through together, to have come so far and then to have to deal with this.  My heart hurt a little for them.  I put myself in Lindsey’s position and asked myself how well I would cope with this if it happened to me.  Short answer – not well at all.  Of course, she’s going to be mad and and will struggle to get their relationship back on the straight and narrow and a lot of this book is given over to that emotional struggle.  I found it desperately compelling and a really clever story line – in fact, I found it hard to put it down.

I think, when we’ve loved a couple in a book before, most romantics, like me, just like to assume that our happy couple are blissfully in love and lust and everything is perfect and in Taz we get a chance to see beyond the happy ever after to see a couple facing up to and dealing with really severe difficulties and come out fighting.

If you’ve liked Taz in the past, then you’re going to love this – it’s great to see him work hard to get his marriage back on track and wonderful to see his Lindsey learning to kick ass.  She’s come a very long way since the young, naive girl we first met back in Diamond Girl.

This is another great contemporary romance from Andrea Smith who likes to push her reader’s boundaries just a little in every book.  Always expect the unexpected when you’re reading her books and prepare yourself for a suspenseful ending.  It’s a very emotional and thrilling read and a fantastic addition to the G-Man series.

4.99999 STARS because I had a mini panic attack for .0000001 second !!!!

While I LOVED the G-Men series, I always found myself leaning toward Easton as my fave…well, maybe just maybe I have a made room for one Trace Matthews!

 photo PhotoGrid_1426894448726_zpsnyruttus.jpg

This is Trace and Lindsey's emotional ride, again! I start by saying that I have no idea how Andrea smith can pack so much into just 200 some pages. You want action, suspense, angst, emotional height, and pure raw intimacy? TAZ has it all!

If you are a fan of this series then you know that Trace and Lindsey have fought hard to find their happy. Their relationship was a bit taboo and shocking. Then their relationship was tested and almost lost when Trace’s job and Lindsey’s past relationships crossed and they got caught in the crossfire. The fought thru injury and insecurity and they LIVED. They are HAPPY. They are pure LOVE.

 photo PhotoGrid_1426894619659_zpszuruwah9.jpg

So why mess with the HEA? I mean what author is ballsy enough to shake the tree and make her readers gasp and chew off their nails? Well one Andrea Smith…because she knows she can deliver!

As previously stated, Taz and Lindsey are good. Living a good life with a healthy family and solid future. Both are fully aware of the type of work Taz does. But when Slate recruits Taz for an undercover assignment no one is prepared for the LOSS that occurs.

What happens undercover? How far does Taz have to go to survive? How much can Lindsey take before she breaks? Will either survive the blowback from the job? How can Lindsey and Trace heal...or is it too late?

 photo PhotoGrid_1426894690452_zpsbhvfk3zr.jpg

WOW! That is what I have to say about this little dynamo. I really loved it, start to finish. This book had me on the whole emotional spectrum. I was in happy land, then I got anxious. I got a bit ill and then terribly sad…then I got angry! It was crazy good and I loved it! The G-men will always be top notch in my opinion but Trace Taz Matthews might just be the baddest of them all. His fight in the field may be good, but his fight for his love and his family is extraordinary!!!

Taz is the fourth book in Andrea Smith’s G-Men Series, haven’t read the series yet? Pre-order the bundle for just $0.99 (releases 3/24) so you can be all caught up in time for more Taz!

Get it here:
G-Men Series Bundle (Books 1-3 Plus 2 novellas

Things seem as close to perfect for Taz and Lindsey. A loving marriage, two beautiful kids and for Taz, his dream position within the FBI as Lindsey & Sammie’s company is beginning to take off. But all of that is about to change when Slate asks for Taz’s help. An undercover assignment, one that that temps him due to Reynard’s involvement. But this one assignment is about to change everything when he goes missing.

I went into Taz’s book pretty much blind. I knew that I was going to read it no matter what after loving the first books in this series, but I wasn’t prepared for the bit of shock that I received when this story line took hold. And as for the plot, okay that was not expected at all either!

What I absolutely loved about this book was being able to be reunited with the characters and getting more of Taz. Andrea could have easily made this a very sweet romance that showcased a perfect love story and no doubt, fans of this series would have loved it. But that’s not what she did. She gave us more Taz but with a fantastic story to go along with it.

I struggled with one aspect of this story and I think that I won’t be alone in that. It was intentional though. It placed me right in the midst of Lindsey’s mind and it helped me see things from her perspective. I was so at odds for the “after” moments because at that point I wanted Lindsey to shake it all off and if she wasn’t willing to, Taz to get a little alpha on her to get his way.

The ending wasn’t completely unexpected, but just when you think you have it all figured out, BAM! Andrea tosses something new into the mix that leaves your head spinning.

If you love a great love story that gives you hot heroes and strong heroines, you need to check out this series! You will not be disappointed!

DNF'd. I feel that the author took this story on a ride that was not only unnecessary, but completely devastating to a couple that had already been through enough. I can't stand authors that add something to a couple that had their HEA already, for purely shock value. Taz & Lindsey were my favorite couple in this series & after Lindsey overcame being raped.... Did we really need to stomach as a reader, Taz suffering from amnesia, cheating on his wife & betraying his family??? No thanks. DNF'd & pretending I never read any part of this book & their ruined HEA.

This is the only book I've read in the series
Taz and Lindsey's story begins in book 2
Taz can be read as a standalone
Suspense romance

Taz - Hero, 33yo, FBI Agent
Recruited for an undercover mission

Is he guilty of cheating considering the above? No
H given oral while unconscious; consented to sex only once
👎🏼 Lacked emotion
👎🏼 Lacked angst
👎🏼 More external conflict than internal
Too much page-time on FBI dealings; I didn't care for it
👎🏼 "baby girl" endearment *cringe*
👎🏼 Steam factor - low
👍🏼 Taz; cute family; hot hero with adorable kids ❤️
Would I read it again? No
Skimmed read most of it.

Far fetched and lacked emotion so much so I couldn't have cared less if they got their marriage back on track. I didn't like either of them. He didn't seem to care how hurt his wife was. All he was interested in was having sex with her again. The heroine swore too much. I didn't like how she spoke. The author needs to learn that it's 'show not tell'. The whole story was amateurish. I've read this author in the past. I obviously forgot how much I disliked her previous books. I've just looked how many other books she has written and am surprised she doesn't appear to have grown in that time as an author nor have her plots improved.

4 Right in the Feels stars

Kudos to Andrea for managing to piss me off so much that I considered throwing things. I was so angry. I was livid. Had I not already read Taz and Lindsey's story in Love Plus One then I probably wouldn't haven't been as angry. But knowing what they went through before.. I was so mad that the punches hadn't quit coming for them. I was, almost, prepared I guess.. since I was nervous in the beginning of the story I had an idea of what might happen.. I just wasn't prepared for the circumstances... I had another idea in my head of how it might go down. Either way.. I wasn't going to be happy about it... That being said... I eventually got over my anger and was able to start my recovery right along with Taz and Lindsey...

This was an awesome continuance of Taz and Lindsey's story.. a story that proved their love for one another was strong enough to endure the roadblock that life puts in front of them..

The first book that I read from Andrea Smith was Love Plus One of the G-Men Series and I was immediately in love with Taz and Lindsey. I thought their story was complete when they finally got their HEA in book 2. But the amazing Andrea Smith treated all those Taz fans with one more book and what a story it was. Taz will highlight and showcase what REAL LOVE entails. Get ready for a book that will have interweave themes of forgiveness, acceptance, love, family, friendship, revenge, trust, and suspense into the story line.

#1Taz!

In Taz, we are reunited with the Matthew family once again and what a story it is. Taz and Lindsey are happily married with two beautiful children. After several years of marriage, the fire and desire they have for each other is still burning bright. There is no doubt and question that their love is REAL. It is passionate, raw, sexy, and beautiful. So when Taz is recruited to go undercover for a secret covert mission, he knew he couldn't tell Lindsey what this mission entails since it was of national security to keep it a secret. But what Taz didn't expect was unforeseen circumstantial events to take place that will test the strength of his marriage when he returns. So can Lindsey and Taz overcome the obstacles that stands in their way as they navigate and survive the many surprising twist of events? Taz will soon find himself in a battle of what is more important. Work or family??

I must say that Andrea Smith completely shocked me with the surprising twist of events that she was able to insert into this book. Ms. Smith was able to make this book so RAW and REALISTIC with the heavy and sensitive topics she incorporated. She didn't sugarcoat anything and I love that. I love a book that can make you vulnerable and allow you to feel the many emotions of her characters. A book that can make you FEEL for the characters is what makes a great book. And Taz is a book that is filled with so many emotions, suspense, angst, drama, and so many twist and turns that you can't really say much about the book without spoiling it. All, I can say Ms. Smith will wickedly have you devouring this book as you are put on an emotional and suspenseful journey of Taz and Lindsey.

5 Seriously Heart-Wrenching and Absolutely Beautifully Executed Stars

I have loved the G men Series to date and I was anxiously awaiting this book because well, Taz, oh Taz, I absolutely loved this guy hard!!!!!!! OK, not going to lie, I read a few reviews and saw a few vague comments and my inner anxiety started immediately so I reached out to the most wonderful fellow GR friend, Amanda, wink, wink and after a bunch of back and forth emails she gave me the courage, lol, to start this today.

This story was unbelievably great and was so well executed, with the most respect, on a very sensitive subject that for me, it was handled PERFECTLY, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Honestly she could have taken it to a whole different level, that for me may have made me stop reading altogether and for that I am so happy. I say for those of you who may not have any "hard" limits to your reading and/or enjoy anything and everything in what you read well definitely go in blind, lol!!!! Me, I couldn't go in blind and I am so glad I didn't and yet the outcome was better than I would have ever anticipated!!!!!

Andrea Smith, you took my heart and ripped it out of my chest, you stomped on it and then meticulously and oh so carefully put it back together again, although slowly but with so much love:) What a roller coaster of emotions BUT the one thing I can honestly say is that as much as I loved Lindsey and Taz before, I emerged from their story of heartache to loving them more than I thought possible!!!! Yes, Andrea Smith you wrote a true gem. You wrote this story of heartache with such dignity and respect and I tell you I couldn't respect you more than I do right now. Once you read this story with the twist, you will understand my meaning. This author took a heartbreaking situation and made it ok, yes, ok for me personally (never thought I would think this way, lol). I didn't like it, was quite frankly pissed as hell that you took it there (ya I could have done without it but whats done is done, heheheh) but yet you did it with such class and grace and I can't help but respect the hell out of you for how you handled the situation.... You handled it perfectly and so much better than I could have ever expected and believe you me I am so grateful for that:) Thank you!!!!!

Now, I would LOVE to see more of this couple but they have had MORE than their fair share of shitty things happening SO if we do get even just a novella on them, I would love it just to be a great hot, sexy, FUN catch up with them. For me anything else would be pushing my limits, lolololol!!!!!!

This was so different for me and it will definitely be a story to stay in my mind forever:) Congrats on a brilliantly and sensitively written subject, more importantly on how well it was handled and the story itself was just fanatstic!!!!!!

Thank you, Thank you

Why!!! Why do authors do this!? I don't fucking get it and I don't like it. I absolutely LOVED Love Plus One but then I heard that there was a second book for them and I was a bit leery about it because authors have this awesome gift of fucking up an already excellent book by writing others instead of just being satisfied with how great the first book was.

This entire book was just unnecessary! It only succeeded in making me dislike characters I once loved and weakened the relationship for me. I get it, Taz but did the author really have to

This is the kind of stuff that ruin an author for me. I don't read much from Andrea Smith but I fell in love with Love Plus One and then she screwed all that up for me with this book. I seriously wish I could unread this and be happy all over again with Lindsey and Taz...

thanks for ruining my image of taz, andrea smith.

this book is redundant. i could have done without all the bullshit dramas. you made taz have sex with another woman other than lindsey?! i don't care if he forgot who he was. no, just no. gross.

yeah, you are officially on my shit list. there is absolutely no need to reopen taz and lindsey's story, you ruined it. authors should leave the character alone once the story is done. stop trying so desperately to earn some bucks off the same fucking story.

this book is shit.

Read this when it was first released...evidently, Taz develops amnesia during an undercover assignment and commits the ultimate betrayal of a committed relationship or married couple - the act of infidelity.

Did the reader need a descriptive La petite mort between Talia and Taz?

I believe objectionable or offensive material to some readers such as violent acts, explicit sex, graphic depictions of domestic abuse, assault, rape, incest, infidelity, loss or death, should be fully disclosed, informing not forced on an unsuspecting reader.

A content disclaimer or warning to the reader should have been incorporated.

Taz (G-Man #4) by Andrea Smith
4 stars!!

This is book four of the G-Man series and this one covers Taz and Lindsey, we have already had their story in Book 2 and this catches up with them going forward. Taz is still in the bureau and Lindsey and Sam’s interior design business is on the up and up and gaining momentum.

Taz and Lindsey had already been through so much in Love Plus One and it seems that their life is finally settled, they are now married and have children and their life is running smoothly. However as we always know with a job in the bureau Taz can be taken away at a moments notice and spend months away from home at a time and in true Andrea Smith style her plans for these two are anything but smooth.

Slate recruits Taz to go undercover, he is the only one that Slate trusts to undertake such a huge job that has extensive repercussions but it means that Taz will once again be away from Lindsey and his children. Having had to spin Lindsey a story about where he is going and downplaying it, it comes as a shock to everyone when what should have been an in and out job goes drastically wrong.

It is hard to read when a couple you have grown to love go through difficulties, and while they had already been through so much to be where they are I felt that this only made what they had stronger and to get through this they were going to need to rely on that strength.

“Stop,” I growled through clenched teeth, “Don’t resist me.” It was something I might’ve said to a perp that was resisting arrest, but at this moment, I was saying to my wife. My mate. The woman that I loved more than life itself.”

Lindsey has really grown as a character and while you always thought that she was the quiet type she really grows some balls in this book and she really needs them. Marriage always has it’s problems but Andrea really heaps them on this book. Sometimes I was frustrated but I was empathetic. I tried to put myself in Lindsey’s shoes and try and think how I would react but I don’t think you can until you are actually in that situation. However, I did feel that Andrea dealt with them sympathetically and compassionately.

“Yeah, fuck me hard, and Taz? Put some ass behind it.”

This book is action packed too and it was great to catch up with the rest of the team, we are treated to all the characters coming together to get through these new set of problems. One thing that these characters have is a great family bond and when one is in trouble they all get together to do whatever they can to help.

As much as this hurt to read I really enjoyed this book, it had everything, the action, the suspense and the emotional side. Andrea Smith always delivers a captivating read and this one will have you on the edge of your seat and if you love this series, then you are going to love this read. Another great addition to this series.

I think that the authors often forget that the audience for which they write should also be taken into account. And I particularly thought it was a big betrayal for the audience that followed the series. Unfortunately, some authors just don't know when to finish and end up screwing everything up. As for the characters, I didn't see anything about a couple in love. I saw an extremely selfish man who put his career first at all times and who never knew how to put himself in his wife's shoes. Even after he hurt her, he used to behave like a selfish brat. If the author wanted to throw a curved ball like that, she could at least have done it well. If this is greed, I can't say, but I didn't see any benefit from this story. Like many other people, I certainly won't be taking any more chances with her books. If that was her goal, congratulations.

Got my ARC!!! Yay!!

You know when you’re just reading along and everything is all hunky dory and then you see the bad thing coming and you know it’s coming and it’s gonna hurt, and it’s gonna be bad but you can’t do anything except read in head first…??? Yeah, that’s what happened here!! Holy Fuck – does HEA really have to be too good to be true?

Ok, so yeah, I had a bit of a panic attack while reading this, thinking OMG how are we gonna fix this friggin mess – but of course after freaking this girl right the fuck out, then making me cry (which btw, happened in all of the G-Men books) they picked me up, dusted me off and made it ok, I am happy to say I have made a full recovery!! :D

I have loved Taz and Lindsey from the very beginning and their love was such a hard won thing they REALLY didn’t need any more fucking bad shit to happen to them – So all I can say is that the wonderful Andrea Smith must be a Sadist!! Just kidding sweetheart, you know I love you! But seriously, please let Taz and Linds have their HEA now with no more bad shit…pretty please!!

I know I’ve done a lot of sassin’ in this little review but let me assure you, that’s just me being me, the smartass you all know and love!! The G-Men are the yummiest of the yummy and the sex is off the charts!! So while this is #4 in the series, it is a MUST READ – and if you haven’t read this series yet, then you can’t read this one without the first three so really there is your reason for binging right there!!!Now, if you have a problem with hunky Alphas, Smokin’ Hot Sex, and some edge of your seat suspense then these are not for you – but all you other smut lovin’ babes out there….Go get yourself some G-Men baby!!!!

The book is great! I loved so much Love Plus One, so to read more about Taz was like an extra bonus! First of all, I would recommend you to read the book No.2 in G-Man Series (believe me, you will not regret it) so you may be totally focused on this story. And... Here we go: Andrea Smith is a great author with such a rare gift to put her own style in writing romantic suspense novels (who ever read Maybe Baby Series knows what I am writing about). It is obvious that she did a lot of research about the topic in this book and if I may write-she did it so good. Taz is not a softie but a real Alpha G-Man even when he did what made me curse loudly at one point. The main female character was also strong, talkative and supportive. I liked this book so much and would recommend it to anyone who likes to read romantic suspense novels with hot explicit scenes! 5 deserved stars!

New FAVORITE book of 2015? Yep – I think so!!! This book is 6+++ stars for me, mostly because it threw me for such a loop, completely had me guessing the wrong thing until the very end and, of course, raised all kinds of hotness with the sex scenes, but especially the fantastic quotes. “That’s it. Keep squeezing my c**k, baby. Take it all.” Um, yeah, okay Taz –just tell me where you want me! ;)

We start the book basically where we left off in G-Men, The Series (if you haven’t read this yet, pick it up on Pre-Order now!) with Taz and his wife, Lindsey, enjoying their blissfully happy life together. Then, as the Prologue states, it all changes in the blink of an eye or, rather, with the sip of a beer. Taz is recruited for a secret mission because of his background and the circumstances of who the FBI is hunting. I agree with him when he says he would have not taken the assignment if he knew what was going to happen. Hindsight is definitely 20/20 in this instance and you know something is about to go very wrong.

“Is he alive?” Oh my, this seriously broke my heart. The ultimate fear of losing a loved one/spouse came through with so much emotion in this moment that you couldn’t help but be affected. You knew right then and there that it would be a struggle for everyone involved to get back to a ‘normal’ life. “He seems like a stranger…like someone else.” Not only does this stir up sadness, but it also opens up so many other avenues with which the plot line can take. I was nervous with the introduction of new characters, but had no idea that Andrea would throw me that off course. Throughout this entire book, you think you know what lies around the next bend, but you really have no idea. I had a few jaw dropping moments and ones where I was literally yelling at my Kindle.

What Andrea does with all of her characters is amazing. I felt so connected with each one of them. I laughed, I cried, I felt as completely hopeless as the h at times. This, to me, is the sign of a truly great book. The fact that she stirs so many emotions inside you throughout is what kept me intrigued from start to finish.

Like the G-Men series, Taz just proves to me what a fabulous author Andrea is and how she can transform characters, keep you guessing with all of the secrets and keep you on the edge with the suspense. I just hope that Ms. Smith decides to give us some more G-Men – I simply can’t get enough!

G-Men, The Series reading order: Diamond Girl, Love Plus One, Night Moves, These Men (a Bend Anthology Novella), G-Men Holiday Wrap and Taz. Even though Taz is technically a standalone novel, I highly recommend you read this series first so you get the full experience…it is one to remember!

Let me just say that I love Andrea Smith! So many books I have read lately have left me feeling bored. With Andrea Smith's books, I don't know what to expect, and I like that. I also like knowing that her storylines may contain some things that might make me uncomfortable or pissed off, because she isn't afraid to have her characters do things that make them seem, ultimately, human. Life isn't perfect. People aren't perfect, and her characters have flaws. This adds to the level of drama and suspense she brings to her writing because you never know how her characters are going to handle certain things, especially in ambiguous situations.

This 'novella' packed a punch. It had mystery, suspense, action, and romance all bundled up into a fun little package. I enjoyed the story immensely because I remembered the initial book I read about Taz and Lindsey, and I was happy to read more about their marriage and how it evolved.

I will say that this book was predictable (for me), and that I anticipated what was going to happen early on, but that didn't stop me from enjoying every minute of it.

This book made me want to read Love Plus One again just so I could remember why I love Taz and Lindsey so much. It was also a reminder of why I need to go back and read another Andrea Smith novel when I crave a romance with characters who are not perfect, or when I need to feel some angst. While this story had a somewhat predictable storyline towards the end, Smith doesn't give you cookie cutter romance. As someone who has read her other books, I know that she doesn't shy away from having her characters experience the growing pains of life and marriage. In this installment, Smith was able to concoct a whole story and fit it into a shorter book, and I felt like I got the whole experience rather than feeling shortchanged because of the length.

Secrets and Deception

4.5 stars: The narrators did a great job! I also enjoyed the story. The love between Taz and Lindsey, as well as Slate and Sammy is very evident. The story is terrific! I haven't read any of the previous books but that never once felt like an issue. Of course, now I have plans to read or listen to those.

Andrea Smith G-Man bk 05 Taz

UPDATED 12/2022:
Now that I've read and/or listened to the rest of the series leading up to this, it's time to jump back into it.

"Love me, Taz. Love me hard, please."
-- Lindsey Matthews

My initial review definitely holds true. I really like that a synopsis of the first three books is provided with just enough details that you can read this as a standalone.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Alexander Cendese and Samantha Martin. I like both, especially the accents.

OMG!!! I haved loved Taz ever since I read Diamond Girl, then we got Love Plus One and fell even harder for him. Now we got more Taz and this book is so good. This one will take you on an emotional ride and by the end you will know what the power of true love can do and overcome. Lindsey and Taz go through a really rough patch and just when you think they won't make it their love for one another overpowers all that is stacked against them. I just loved this book and it shows just how awesome an author Andrea Smith is, with her writing you feel every single emotion the characters have and everything written is so believable you just can't help but be sucked in and not be able to put the book down. I love me some Taz and this book just shows you why is he is such a hot, sexy, sweet alpha male.

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Just when you think you got your HEA, Andrea Smith throws you a curve ball and sends you reeling! I loved Taz and Lindsey the first time around but I have to admit this time, it was even better. A relationship is all about trials and tribulations. A couple must fight to keep their HEA in a world that wants nothing more than to destroy what they have built.
Enter the world of the FBI, of revenge and retribution, of trust and unconditional love beyond all measure.
Enter the world of the G-Men!

5 Seriously heart-wrenching and Absolutely Beautifully Executed Stars

I have loved the G men Series to date and I was anxiously awaiting this book because well, Taz, oh Taz, I absolutely loved this guy hard!!!!!!! OK, not going to lie I read a few reviews and saw a few vague comments and started my inner anxiety going so I reached out to the most wonderful fellow GR friend, Amanda, wink, wink and after a bunch of back and forth emails she gave me the courage, lol, to start this today.

This story was unbelievably great and was so well executed with the most respect on a very sensitive subject that for me it was handled PERFECTLY, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Honestly she could have taken it on a whole different level, that for me may have stopped reading altogether and for that I am so happy.

*Complimentary copy received from author*

3.5 ★

So Taz and Lindsey's story started from Love Plus One, but this can be a stand-alone. If you haven't read the other one, you won't be lost but I think it's still nice to read their beginning in its entirety. Incidentally enough, that was just an ok read for me but I'm glad I read it. I know I'm gonna sound like a total cad for saying this just because of what happened to Lindsey near the end, but she didn't quite win me over. But Taz, oh Taz, he has my attention from the get-go. Just sayin...

So they went from marital bliss to practically being strangers and sorta' starting over again because of what happened to Taz. While Taz is recovering and Lindsey trying to hold the fort, they also had to make sure that their relationship stays intact. And as if that's not enough challenge, other things are at play that pose a threat without their knowledge. Seriously, how much trauma can this couple go through?

Their domestic life felt really natural and I love the heat between these 2! Lindsay did redeem herself in my eyes here, despite her challenges (or is it because of?). I felt her decisions were finally smart and I finally found empathy for her. Taz, well, I've always enjoyed his POV. I enjoy his banter with Slate.I like his inner thoughts. I like his alpha ways in all its yumminess:p
"Because this isn't a competition, baby. I am yours. I will always be yours..."

This was a really quick read, which tells me that I was engaged in the story. I think it's got the perfect ending for these 2 lovebirds.

Taz by Andrea Smith is a suspense romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Alexander Cendese and Samantha Martin.

Author Note “All books in the G-Man Series can be read as a standalone, but are most enjoyable if read in order since the characters interconnect.”

I absolutely love Andrea’s books and this one is no different. I look forward to reading the other books in the G-Man series.

Alexander and Samantha did an amazing job on the dual narration. I absolutely loved how they brought the story to life.
