Seph is the antihero this f*cked world needs.

It's kill or be killed in the wasteland and Seph, well, she kills. She scraped by until presented with a potential big score—all she has to do is escort a truckload of trafficked sex workers on a cross-country trip. Facing off against randy r*pe riders, monstrous mutants, & feral forest folk, will anybody make it out in one piece?

From the author of Bunny Room and Potato comes this sapphic dystopian sci-fi splatterpunk novel that will have you sweatily turning pages as you stay up way past your bedtime.

Oscar Brady is a master at making you laugh out loud and audibly retch in the same breath.

Off the bat, the immediate litmus test for if you’ll enjoy this book or not is that around halfway through the story, we’re introduced to two characters named “Dipstick” and “Fartbox”. If you’re like me and find that hilarious, you’re gonna love this one. If not, the over-the-top and crude style of this book might not be for you.

Personally, I had such a blast with Ronin from start to finish. The story follows Seph and her freshly acquired partner Bunny as they escort a group of trafficked sex workers across a post-apocalyptic wasteland, with absolute carnage ensuing as they encounter bands of rapists, mutant bears, man-eating cannibals and strangely well-endowed killer birds.

From the scenarios to the characters all the way down to the vulgar prose, this book felt like when I was younger and staying up until 3AM watching weird and explicit shows on Adult Swim (reinforced by the book being broken up by “episodes” rather than chapters), and I mean that in the best possible way. It was an ultraviolent, absurdly comedic and hypersexual romp, and if that sounds like your cup of tea, I HIGHLY recommend giving this one a read.

I received an advanced reader copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great and fun read! It’s a post apocalyptic, sapphic Splatterpunk novel packed with action, insane wile creatures, bad guys, surprises, a lot of heart, and full on punk attitude! Some of the creatures in this post apocalyptic wasteland of America blew my mind. A six legged bear the size of a small building and giant long necked vultures with human genitalia were among my favorites! Steph, a mercenary, takes on the task of escorting a group of human trafficking victims to the nation of California. The insane trials and tribulations they must go through to get there just blew my mind. I feel like I’ve been waiting for a Splatterpunk novel of this caliber for a long time, and I’m so glad it exists!

This is my shhhiiiii****!!!! Pam Grier who? Seph is the new "Foxy Brown" kicking booty and snatching nuts like a hungry elephant at a circus. The story had me humming that damn Tina Turner song from Mad Max beyond Thunderdome or whatever it was called.

Seph is the "hero" we need, she knows how to ride. And when she rides, she rides hard😉. Bunny....what can I say? She likes it every which way but Sunday. Seph is headed to the Republic of California with Bunny and a few other girls. This is going to be a helluva road trip.

Ronin was an action packed, badass post apocalyptic wasteland splatterpunk book! Following Seph on her journey to return a group of people she rescued from sex trafficking, they run into crazy monsters and the most vile people you can imagine. Not only is Seph a badass bitch with some big ass blades, the hubby and I also make an appearance in the book as well! :)

A splatterpunk odyssey!

Ronin is poignant and evocative, while also being crudely humorous, brutally violent, strangely sexy, and most of all, human.

If you're a fan of gritty action adventure movies with low budgets and high aspirations, you'll dig this.
