The Nanny Contract: An Age Gap, Billionaire Romance

Rate this book
“My truth? I’ve killed men who deserved it.
My dare? Stay in this water with me after hearing that.”

Being a nanny for the world’s grumpiest single dad should’ve been easy.

But Roman Barinov is thirteen years older, stoic, controlled, and sinfully gorgeous.
A billionaire CEO who built his empire with ruthless precision.

Until one night, a reckless game of truth or dare in his hot tub undoes it all—
His control, my resolve, and every scrap of clothing between us.

He’s gruff, commanding, and dangerous for my heart.
But men like Roman are my weakness, broad-shouldered, sharp-jawed, quietly intense.

And when he softens?
It ruins me.

When he tucks his son into bed.
When that Russian accent slips, whispering words no woman should hear.
When he looks at me like I’m the last peace he’ll ever find.

I should’ve known better.

Roman Barinov isn’t just a billionaire CEO.
He’s the Bratva pakhan who hides his empire behind boardrooms and skyscrapers.

And in his world, love isn’t safe for anyone.

My contract says two months.
But falling for Roman Barinov feels like signing my soul away.

A complete standalone romance with zero cheating and a guaranteed happily ever after.

The Nanny Contract by K.C. Crowne ★★★★★
"Addictive, Spicy, and Worth Every Page"

If you’re looking for a romance that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go, The Nanny Contract is exactly that. K.C. Crowne delivers a gripping age-gap story packed with tension, heat, and just enough danger to keep you turning pages well past your bedtime.

The premise is deliciously trope-forward: our heroine takes on a nanny position for what she expects to be a standard, if grumpy, single dad. What she gets instead is Roman Barinov — thirteen years her senior, stoic, commanding, and absolutely devastating. He’s a billionaire CEO on the surface, but beneath the polished boardroom exterior lies something far more dangerous: a Bratva pakhan whose world is anything but safe. The stakes feel real, and that edge of darkness gives the romance a weight that elevates it beyond your typical billionaire love story.

What makes this book work so well is the slow unraveling of Roman’s control. He starts as an almost immovable force — cold, precise, untouchable — and watching him soften, in the quietest, most unexpected moments, is genuinely affecting. Crowne has a gift for those small, tender beats that hit harder than any grand gesture. The chemistry between the leads is electric and builds at a satisfying pace before things finally, gloriously, combust.

The age-gap dynamic is handled with care, and the heroine holds her own throughout — she’s never a pushover, even when Roman is at his most intense. Their push-and-pull felt authentic rather than manufactured, and I found myself rooting hard for both of them.

A few notes for readers going in: this is a steamy read, so come prepared. It’s also a standalone, so no cliffhangers — you get a full, satisfying happily ever after, which after all that tension, feels very well earned.

Bottom line: The Nanny Contract is addictive, emotionally satisfying, and exactly the kind of romance you devour in one sitting. Highly recommend for fans of age-gap romance, Bratva heroes, and slow-burn tension that pays off in a big way.

The moment a FMC becomes TSTL the book will ALWAYS get a 3 outta me. Because in what sane world imaginable does it make sense to listen to your EX and put yourself and a child in danger? The MOMENT he said don’t tell the VERY LOYAL BODYGUARD that they’re in danger should’ve been the first clue but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Like girl, please be so for real. And this “need” to answer the phone because her brother “might” be in danger or hurt? What she gone do if he was? Nothing. Like be reasonable or hell SENSIBLE. I almost didn’t finish bc it was clear as day she was quickly about to be TSTL. And why did she need to answer the phone in secret just because it’s her ex and if it’s about her brother like she always seems to think is the case….why does that need stepping away down a long hallway FROM THE LITERAL LOYAL BODYGUARD to answer the phone? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. It’s not like they don’t know the brother exists at this point or know what he does. SMH just foolishness all around.

The Nanny Contract hooked me from the very first chapter. Roman Barinov is the kind of hero who walks into a scene and instantly changes the temperature—controlled, unreadable, and carrying a quiet danger that makes every interaction feel charged. He’s a single dad, a billionaire, and a man who’s built his life on discipline… until Amalie steps into his home and knocks every wall sideways.

Amalie is such a compelling heroine. She’s smart, warm, and trying her best to keep things professional, even when Roman’s intensity makes that nearly impossible. Watching her navigate the push‑pull between attraction and common sense felt incredibly real. And the way she bonds with his son adds a layer of softness that balances the darker edges of the story.

The truth‑or‑dare scene is where everything shifts, and KC Crowne writes it with just the right mix of tension and vulnerability. Roman’s confession is raw, unsettling, and honest—and instead of running, Amalie stays. That moment sets the tone for the rest of the book: two people drawn together despite every reason to keep their distance.

What really surprised me is how much heart sits beneath the danger. Roman may be a Bratva pakhan, but he’s also a father who tucks his son in with a tenderness that completely disarms you. And when his accent slips, or when he lets Amalie see the man behind the power? Those are the moments that make the romance feel earned, not just steamy.

The suspense thread adds weight without overwhelming the relationship. The stakes are real, the risks believable, and the emotional payoff at the end is exactly what I wanted—two people choosing each other even when the world around them says they shouldn’t.

If you love age‑gap romance, nanny/boss tension, and heroes who are dangerous everywhere except with the woman they love, The Nanny Contract is a gripping, addictive read that delivers heat, heart, and a beautifully satisfying HEA.

Have I mentioned how much I love KC Crowne?! Like love, love, this author. Every book I pick up is amazing. I have yet to read something by KC and be disappointed.

As a reminder this is a mafia romance. There is violence, murder, torture, and of course smexy time.

Ok now that I’m done fangirling, this is The Nanny Contract a stand alone, mafia romance. Roman is the Pakhan and a single father looking for someone to not only watch over his son but help to tutor him in his love of art. At 5 years old he is drawing detailed pictures of people, outdoor scenes and much more and Roman wants to encourage and grow his son’s outlet. Especially since his mother died and he can’t fill that void. But when he hires Amalie, an art graduate to watch his son he doesn’t bet on falling for her.

Amalie is down on her luck. Since graduating school she hasn’t been able to find the job that speaks to her. She lives in a tiny studio apartment just trying to get by. Until a Nanny job opens up and it’s the perfect fit. But she is insanely attracted to her boss and is fighting the best she can to keep things professional.

I love that this is a curvy girl love story. Our society has taken the stick figure and made it the singular sign of beauty and I believe all bodies are beautiful. So seeing how Roman defends her honor time and again when people make comments really spoke to me. I have struggled with body dysmorphia my whole life and while I am not what is considered to be a big girl or a small girl for that matter I am trying to love my body for being healthy. So having someone like Roman to remind her that she is perfect for him was amazing to read. And I did once or twice pretend he was speaking to me.

If you’ve never read KC Crowne’s books they are amazing and you will get sucked into a world of mystery, lust, guns, mafia and of course, love.

What really drew me into this book was little Sasha, the quiet little boy with the incredible artistic talent, and how Amalie guided him without trying to change him in any way. One of the themes of this book is that children don’t need to be “fixed”, that they are special people on their own. A simple idea, but one which is rarely explored.
The book is also about taking up space. Amalie’s ex boyfriend tried to make her smaller, in every way from the physical (making nasty comments about her weight in the guise of being concerned about her health) to the emotional (telling her she’s too much). Amalie rejects the boyfriend, and although his comments are a little harder to shake off, she rejects his ideas with the help of Roman, a Bratva king trying to go legit. Roman thinks Amalie is wonderful the way she is, and encourages her to take up more psychological space and to embrace her body (he does plenty of embracing it too). That’s why I like him: he facilitates both Sasha (his son) and Amalie in their art and in being absolutely themselves.
This book is much more than an average Bratva romance. Those usually force a woman into a relationship, put her in danger, and have her get accidentally pregnant, with plenty of time for Alphahole posturing. Some of this happens here, but Amalie’s agency is never taken away. And Roman is not an Alphahole; he’s an Alpha male who is confident enough in himself that he doesn’t need to belittle others.
I loved this book. It’s an absolute gem, and I’m so glad I read it.
Cat’s Stats
Heat- explicit
Bechdel test- fail
Safety? Y
Triggers- blood, violence including torture, child endangerment.
Tropes- nanny/caregiver, Instalove, BBW. It’s really got new takes on old tropes.

Amalie Denning is interviewing for a nannie position with Roman Barinov to care for his 5yr old son Sasha. With her degree in social work, specifically using art to reach the children she is perfect for the job. Sasha is an exceptionally talented artist with abilities well beyond his age. He is also quiet and withdrawn. When she is offered the position for a 2 month trial with a very impressive salary she is also told she will be living in the mansion. Going into this she had no idea just how complicated and dangerous her life will become. The attraction between Amalie and Roman is impossible to ignore from the start. She doesn’t tell Roman her brother Kyle is an undercover police detective because she isn’t supposed to talk about it for his safety. Of course being a Bratva Pakham he finds out quickly causing tension between them. After a heated argument Roman tells her she is fired and makes her leave without saying goodbye to Sasha who has become very attached to her. On her way back to her apartment she is attacked and with the help of Andrei (Romans 2nd in command) gets away and runs to her brother’s precinct. Even knowing the danger being part of Romans world brings, she also feels safe with him so she returns to the mansion. Roman is in the midst of going legitimate and leaving the Bratva but someone is causing major problems for him and Roman believes it’s the same man who killed his wife and who is behind the attacks on Amalie. There is also Amalie’s ex who is a cop and is her ex because he loves to control and belittle her. Max is also causing trouble for everyone. Even with two worlds colliding, love conquers all.

Nopeee not my type of book

I honestly didn’t like this book, and I really couldn’t stand Amalie as a character.

The author made her weight her entire personality. We get it!!!!! she’s a bigger girl. It was repeated constantly in different ways over and over again. There’s a difference between curvy/thick and being described in a way that just comes across as unhealthy. Instead of sounding sexy or confident, the descriptions made me picture someone deeply overweight.

At one point her brother comments on her eating habits, then later her ex says:

“They aren’t insults. God, you’re so sensitive. I tell you I want to see you get healthier, and you take it personally. Then I tell you that you need to start thinking about your future and not just hop from temp job to temp job, and you get defensive. It’s like you think you can do whatever you want and no one’s allowed to say anything about it.”

The boyfriend may have been an asshole overall, but honestly? I agreed with him there. Amalie was exhausting. She acted like any criticism whatsoever was oppression instead of maybe taking responsibility for her habits, health, or life choices.

What made her even more frustrating was how every conversation somehow turned into a pity party. The 'guy' would ask her something simple, and suddenly it became “my ex did this” and “my ex did that.” It constantly felt like the book was pushing this poor me narrative instead of giving her an actual personality beyond insecurity and victimhood.

The entire book felt like it wanted readers to automatically praise her no matter what, and if you didn’t, you were somehow the bad guy. Sorry, but confidence and denial are not the same thing.

A Risk Worth their Happiness -
Even though Amalie was attracted to her boss from the moment she laid eyes on him, she made a decision to maintain a professional relationship with him, but she never expected to engage in a mind blowing dalliance with him. Although Roman was attracted to Amalie from the moment they met, he never expected to cross the boundaries of their professional relationship, but his willpower broke when they found themselves in a situation where the sparks between them heightened their attraction towards each other.

Whilst Amalie expected their dalliance to be a time encounter, she soon found herself enjoying an ongoing steamy sexual relationship with Roman, but she tried to keep her heart out of it. However, Amalie and Roman’s blissful feeling didn’t last long, as there were a few attempts on their lives, which led to his protective instincts and her fear, causing friction between them. Unfortunately, not long after Amalie and Roman celebrated her life changing news, she was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend and found herself in a dangerous situation.

Luckily, Roman was able to rescue Amalie with the help of her brother, which gave them the opportunity to finally confess their true feelings for each and get back on track towards building their lives together. I really enjoyed reading this gripping romance story with lots of twists and turns, that took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride and on tenterhooks at times, but I was truly happy by the time I finished reading the book.

Steamy age-gap, curvy FMC plus Bratva romance…unputdownable!
If you like fitting amounts of steam with your romance, you will want to read this book! I swear, I tore through the 360 pages of this book in record time. So much intrigue with passion as well as many poignant and scary moments. This book has it all. Love the cover too.
Amalie is going on a job interview for a short-term job at this castle/fortress. Who could even live in this house? When she arrives, she notices lots of men with guns pacing up and down or stationed in strategic places in this “home.” Then she meets the very handsome, single father of the boy she has applied to nanny, Roman Barinov with a delectable Russian accent. His son Sasha is very shy and has not connected with any of the recent nannies since his mother’s death. Sasha is an art prodigy so the fact that Amalie is an artist with a Social Work degree may just work. Amalie does not expect to find out that her delicious boss is the Bratva Pakhan of Chicago. As she works with Sasha, she and Roman find they cannot hide their attraction to one another. With a different wrinkle in that Roman wants to go legit and keep this world away from his beautiful son, we find that there are people who do not want Roman to succeed. To what end? The conclusion of this book had me on tenterhooks. Ms. Crowne has a street-savvy woman in Amalie come to work for a dangerous Bratva Pakhan. A match made in…well, probably not heaven but you get the point. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended.

This book was okay. I’ve read a lot of mafia romances this year and this one doesn’t stick out to me in any particular way. Amalie was an okay FMC but I got annoyed by her. She was always complaining about her body and insecurities. I can’t believe she just blindly trust her shitty ex at the end of the book. That’s crazy. She is constantly running from her feelings in this book. She just comes off as spineless. She talks a lot about art but I don’t see her actually doing much with it.

I enjoyed Sasha and Roman. Sasha could have shined more if Roman and Amalie weren’t boning for half the book. Roman was okay. As for mafia men, he was sweeter. But he had trust issues and always doubted Amalie. Which I understand because she hid more than she needed to really.

I hated Amalie and the police station stuff. Like why is she trusting the police so much? I know her brother is a cop but it’s crazy how she’s desperate to go to him after the first half she was saying her was undercover and all this stuff. The love between the FMC and MMC weren’t there. There wasn’t depth of their relationship besides sex. I did like their date at the chicken shop but of course everything just turned back to Amalies weight. Someone had to say something at every turn and she had to say soemthing the entire time. Like it’s 2026… the average size of a woman in the US is a 16. Like get over yourself. How many women are runway model skinny? For real??? And then she ordered more food for herself and made snide comment about Roman eating her Mac and cheese. Chill girl. Omg

What a steamy delicious story…I enjoyed every bit of it!
There’s violence, tension, emotional turmoil, moments to laugh out loud, some to make you cringe, some will make you sad, some will make you want to pull your hair out before we get to their HEA.
Tropes:
💀 Bratva Pakhan/single dad MMC
🌈 Art teacher/curvy/nanny FMC
🖤 Touch her and die
💀 Mine
🌈 Sweet little five-year-old boy
🖤 Traitor/betrayal
Amalie Denning is an artist in desperate need of money. She applies to be the nanny for a sweet little five-year-old boy named Sasha Barinov whose daddy happens to be the Pakhan of a Chicago Bratva. Amalie is hired on a two-month trial basis, but she has secrets 🤫.
Roman Barinov is intense, commanding, and emotionally guarded in the way only a man who lives by violence and loyalty can be. For the sake of his son, he is trying to legitimize his business; he must ensure that nothing interferes with the success of this mission.
The Nanny Contract is a deliciously addictive read that delivers the perfect blend of passion, suspense, and unexpected tenderness—a must-read if you enjoy heartfelt mafia romance stories.

Amalie and Roman make a great couple. Hired to take care of his son, Amalie felt drawn to Roman immediately. He was drawn to her as well but did not want their relationship to end up harming his son. Giving in to their feelings, the two act on their explosive chemistry. Roman, working on leaving the Bratva and making his business legitimate, has his hands full while trying to care for his traumatized son. Amalie worked wonders with him and was able to take him out of his shell, showing Roman how valuable she could be to the family. Everything hits the fan when Roman’s rivals try to upset his plans to make his businesses legitimate to leave a worthy legacy for his son. Roman had to show his alpha maleness to take down his enemies and keep his family safe. Kidnappings and shootouts make this story intriguing and suspenseful. You will not want to put this book down. This page turner captured and held my interest from beginning to end and checked all my boxes for steamy, hot, and swoon worthy. KC Crown is amazing!

The Nanny Contract is a spicy Contemporary romance that follows FMC Amalie Denning as she takes on a position as nanny to billionaire MMC Roman Barinov’s young son Sasha.
Roman may be some years older than Amalie but it doesn’t stop the attraction that causes sparks between them after their first meeting.
This could end badly!
As Amalie comes to adore Sasha she also learns his father is a Bratva pakhan, not just a rich CEO, But she needs the job so fighting the attraction for the father is the only option, but he doesn’t make it easy.
Loved this steamy narrative of secrets, Bratva intrigue, family dynamics, drama, danger, and undeniable passion, and when Roman finds out Amalie has hidden something from her background from him the tension gets really real.
A vibrant perfectly paced story that plays out with all the expected intensity, emotion, and entertainment that held this reader hanging on every word!.

The Nanny Contract was such an addictive read. Roman is the perfect grumpy, older billionaire hero—cold, intense, and a little dangerous—but what really made this work for me was seeing the softer side underneath all that control. The nanny setup, age gap, and single-dad elements gave the story a lot of charm, while the Bratva angle added extra tension and drama. 😍

The chemistry between Roman and the heroine was strong from the start, and I liked the mix of forbidden attraction and emotional vulnerability. The hot tub scene definitely delivered on the steam, but I also enjoyed the quieter moments, especially when Roman was with his son. Those scenes made him feel more than just intimidating and turned him into a hero worth rooting for. 💕👀

Overall, this was a steamy, entertaining romance with a great balance of sweetness, danger, and possessive hero energy. If you like nanny romances, silver fox heroes, age gaps, and a touch of mafia suspense, this one is definitely worth picking up ✨🔥.

I loved this explosive book. It has all the Bratva elements and then some. Amalie is an artist but she needs a job. She interviews with a billionaire , Roman Barinov. He is looking for a nanny for his young son Sasha who loves art. This where the magic begins. There are a few catches along the way such as her brother Kyle who is an undercover police detective. How complicated can this make the storyline.. You will have to read it to find out but you won’t be disappointed with all the twist and turns that you will discover in your journey into Amalie and Roman’s world. This book is well written just as you would expect from KC Crowne. She is an artist with her words. All the characters come to life on the page. I heard the gravel crunch , felt the heartbeat faster and felt the love in this storyline.

This book was difficult for me to get into because of the way the main character speaks. His tone comes across as very demanding and controlling, with lines like “If you work for me, you will do what I say” and “Come. You will meet my son now.” Instead of sounding confident or strong, it feels rigid and overly authoritative.

Because of this, I found it hard to connect with the character. The dialogue doesn’t feel natural or conversational it feels more like being ordered around than having a real interaction. This made the reading experience less enjoyable and a bit uncomfortable at times.

While the author may have intended to create a powerful or dominant character, the lack of warmth or emotional depth makes the character feel one-dimensional. I kept waiting for more personality or vulnerability, but the tone stayed mostly the same.

Overall, the story might appeal to readers who enjoy very strong, commanding characters, but for me, the writing style made it hard to stay engaged.

The Nanny Contract is a standalone age gap romance. It is so well-written and so entertaining.

Roman is the Russian leader and a single father. He needs a nanny for his son, Sasha. His son loves art so he would like to hire an art teacher also. When he finds Amalie he sees that she is an art graduate.

Amalie has not been able to find a job she wants since graduating from art school. When she meets Roman on her job interview, she is instantly attracted to him. She meets Sasha and sees how good he is at art. She and Roman are attracted to each other but don't want to overstep the boundaries of their working relationship. Roman finds he can't stop himself from wanting Amalie.

I loved the chemistry between Amalie and Roman. This was a great age gap story and I look forward to more from this talented author.

His dare is her truth....YUMMY!!!

The Nanny Contract is part of the Silver Fox Daddies series by KC Crowne. Amalie has graduated college but still cannot find a job. She needs something quick so she takes a nanny position for single father Roman Barnov. All she needs is to to stay for two months to earn enough to clear her mother's bills and free them from debt. Roman is rich, powerful, and smexy hot. But he is also very dangerous as he leads a double life as a is also the Pakhan of the Barinov Bratva family. She is sweet, innocent, and wide-eyed....and is a lamb going into his world. But Roman finds Amalie bewitching and is drawn to her in a way he never expected to feel. Amalie is able to see the tender and softer moments in Roman's life and that has her falling harder than a boulder off a cliff. You just now that these two are going to get together but just how and what happens next is what keeps you reading.

Amalie is nervous at her interview for a nanny position for a single dad and Bratva pakhan Roman Barinov's son, Sasha. She is given a two-month trial before being made permanent if she's suitable. Roman sees that he has a treasure in Amalie when she brings Sasha out of his shell using his artwork. But Roman is also falling for Amalie, which will complicate matters with her job as his nanny. Things take a bad turn when Amalie's past comes back to haunt her.
I recieved an arc from Booksprout for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love a fast-paced Bratva Age Gap romance with plenty of action, then you will love this book. K.C. keeps you turning the pages with the steamy passion between Roman and Amalie, along with the twists and turns that you dont see coming. I could have turned around and read this one all over again I enjoyed it so much.

This is more than the typical bratva billionaire/poor nanny trope. Yes, she's a young woman in financial trouble and he's the rich pakhan of his bratva, however she is an artist and his young son needs an art tutor. These characters have depth and although Roman is the pakhan he has a loving relationship with his son and isn't a cold dad. Amalie is young and unsure of herself due to an ex who was unkind about her body and intelligence. Roman does a very good job of showing his appreciation for everything about her.

There is danger, sexual tension, lust/love, and a touch of humor. The interactions with little Sasha are very sweet. I'm happy they got their HEA.

I received an advance reader copy and this is my honest review.

Steamy story sprinkled with betrayal, altercations and sweet secrets …

Thanks to her artistic background, Amalie is hired to work as the nanny for Roman Barinov. His son seems to be a natural artist, but a total recluse, since his mother was killed.
Roman wants to quit his Bratva business and make it legit, which causes bad blood among the other members. Especially his arch-nemesis Garin seems to play every trump to stop him from being successful in this endeavor.
And then there is this intense attraction between the two main characters …
I definitely recommend reading this book - couldn’t put it down once I started reading! … just one star less, as the plot is recognizable ….

KC Crowne absolutely hit this out of the park in Grand slam performance! Absolutely loved this! Amalie, Roman and Sasha, Roman’s son. The three meet when Roman hires Amalie to be Sasha’s nanny and art tutor. Roman being the head of the Bratva and Kyle, Amalie’s brother being an undercover Detective things get a bit tense. Lots of twists and turns for Amalie and Roman to traverse through. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant chemistry, anger, hurt, deception, confusion, anxiety, trust issues, drama, plus gives a good amount of teasing at steam, stubbornness to a fault. I highly recommend this story. It is a must read! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

She knew he was a billionaire and her boss, which should’ve been enough to keep her away. However an unexpected night in the spa in a game of truth or dare, and they cross lines that can’t be un crossed. But she doesn’t know is that he is the Bratva Packhan and used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is her. She was unexpected. He has been focused on being a father to his son, but when he sees his son blossom under her care, he can’t help but want to keep her permanently. Does it just mean in his house he means in his bed. A dark, brooding OTT Russian and a sassy strong FMC, they have great chemistry that pulls you into their story. It’s hot. It’s steamy. And there’s an happily ever after.

What started as a two-month contract for a nanny job turns into so much more when Amalie and Roman cross the forbidden line and have one steamy unexpected night of truth or dare. Roman is a single father and the head of the Bratva, and Amalie is hired to be his son's nanny. From the start sparks were flying between Roman and Amalie, and his son flourished under her care. I love that, even though this is a Bratva romance, it has a sweet love twist that gives the characters their happily ever after. The writing is well done, and the characters are perfect together and have ott chemistry. The Nanny Contract is a wonderful addition to the Silver Fox Daddies series. I loved this book, I loved the storyline it was well laid out and it just flowed easily. The author has written this book so well. I loved how they the characters they were perfect, I also like how
Amalie was not a typical super slim woman but a more realistic shape. I loved how Roman made her feel beautiful in her own skin again, especially after being with Max. What I loved the most about this book was little Sasha. What a great character, this is a topic that is very much not really written about. I believe art can help them express themselves. Well written book, great author as always. Highly recommend.

Amalie may have slightly embellished her resume, but she has bills to pay and secrets to keep. Roman needed a well qualified nanny to help his son. Roman is way more than he appears to be, as looks can be deceiving. The attraction is immediate even though Roman and Amalie do try and resist the pull. The danger is real and knocking at the door as Roman does what he needs to in order to protect the ones he loves. Amalie quickly falls for father and son despite the danger and drama and there’s no turning back for her. This was a well written and enjoyable read. Thanks to BookSprout and the author for the opportunity to read and review her work.

This is Roman and Amalie’s love story. He’s a single dad to a lovely 5 year-old boy. He’s also a a Bratva pakhan who wants to leave the mafia world and go legit with his businesses. His son needs a nanny and she has the love of art in common with the boy. She is a wonderful nanny, more like an art teacher to him. They bond and the boy flourishes. At the same time, parallel to that she’s becoming involved with the boy’s father, her boss. They get entangled with one another and at the same time there are other issues to contend with. In the end, they are able to resolve those, he can go legit with his businesses and life goes on.

Nanny/art teacher Amalie had no idea her new employer Roman was a Bratva leader or that she’d fall for him and his son. But the big bad Bratva is trying to go legit and his rival will do or kill anyone who gets in the way. KC Crowne always tells a great story but with a twist. I loved trying to figure out who was really making moves behind the scenes. Throw in torrid sex, an undercover brother, attempted murder/ kidnapping, a malicious ex and an unplanned pregnancy and you have a page turner on your hands.
