This is a really clear and practical guide with lots of useful, easy-to-understand advice. I especially liked the chapters on understanding yourself and managing sensory overload—they felt very relatable and actionable.

Instead of focusing on the "challenges" of autism, this guide empowers employees to master the workplace on their own terms. Amatina uses her personal insights to help readers build strong work connections while managing their sensory focus. It’s an essential, actionable resource for any autistic professional, from entry-level to executive.

Why being frustrated with trial and error when there is a tool kit for the job? This lovely book is perfect and tremendously encouraging for those on the Autistic Spectrum, readying them to embrace their unique self unapologetically, and shift from burnout and frustration, to authentic expression that leads to thriving in employment and beyond. As the author puts it:
"Thriving at work isn’t about “fixing” ourselves to fit in - it’s about knowing
ourselves, understanding our rights, and building environments that work for us." (p1).
Whilst it's a crying shame that our society is overlooking the invaluable skills of Neurodivergent people, and are failing at work-space/load provision, this little but mighty Tookkit shines the light in the areas of their innate traits, that can definitely change the status quo.
Reading Mahlia's book felt as though someone kind, knowledgeable and experienced is there to hold my hand, whilst navigating my unique expression in a world that is in imminent need of change, from judgement to understanding. Thank you for sharing your experience, research and insight and I hope it will reach and help many -your awareness is beautiful!
