I couldn't write a review for the first 2 books because each one left me with a freaking cliff hanger and I was PULLING MY HAIR OUT reading this series. I read the synopsis and I was like "oh hey this seems like an easy read without any complications" Boy, was I wrong as hell THIS SERIES WAS SO FUCKING FRUSTRATING IT WAS LIKE "Thoughtless" by S.C Stephens, "Til' Death" by Bella Jewel, and "Bad Things" by R.K Lilley ALL IN ONE FUCKING BOOK. I COULDNT BREATHE 80% OF THE TIME AND MY HEART WAS SUFFERING THROUGH MULTIPLE HEART ATTACKS BECAUSE THERE WAS ALWAYS ANOTHER PLOT TWIST. Now did I love this series? I don't even know.. I'm still going through shock of everything and even though there was a happy ending THERE WAS TOO MUCH DRAMA, FUCKING KILL ME. I had lots of issues with a lot of things and I need to address them. Spoiler alert.
It's so hard to imagine that in the beginning.. It was just Alexia being manager and Jaxton as CEO.. Like in the beginning I was pissed off we were in the middle and not in the beginning cause hell, I loved the chase. The undeniable chemistry and I WAS JUST SO CONFUSED and now I'm sitting here at the end and I'm fucking love every bit of it. So to all the girls contemplating on whether to read this series, it's not going to be a sweet, easy book. It's going to be fucking complicated, your heart is going to race a lot, and you're going to be losing sleep over it all. 5 COMPLICATED IM A MESS STARS FOR THE MOST MESSED UP SERIES BUT PERFECT ENDING["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This was a great ending to Alexia & Jaxson's story.
Alexia & Jaxson story is not an easy one to say the least. You NEED to read Layers and More Layers before this one, the first two books left you with cliffhangers and this book brings it all together. I would love to say that everything is tied up with a neat little bow but it's not. We aren't left with a cliffhanger as the previous two books but we are left with one very important question...WHY?!?! Now this question will erk you as much as it does me I am sure of it, I don't want to give spoilers but there were two pivotal moments that had me scratching my head in confusion and asking WHY? Why did she feel that way and WHY did he have to die...NOPE NOT TELLING WHO DIES just be warned that someone does and it's not a minor character either.
If you are looking for a story that is all nicey nice...boy and girl meet, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl get married and have kids, this is not that story. If you are looking for something with substance, suspense, and then a happy ending, you have found the series for you. I would advise to buy the first three books at the same time so that you can jump into the next book once you are hit with the cliffhanger. Book 4 in the series isn't about Alexia & Jaxson although I am sure they will pop-up at some point through the book. DO NOT LOOK AT BOOK FOUR UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE FIRST THREE BOOKS BECAUSE JUST READING THE SYNOPSIS IS A SPOILER!
Alexia always commented on Jaxson raking his hands through his hair and this photo reminded me of that.

4* stars from me
This journey came to an end, i would say that i'm very sad for that i really loved the characters and their story. As the previous books this one as well was fantastic, filled also with many emotion and the suspense of what will happen again to disturb their happiness made the story even more intense.
The pace was steady with some twists and Jax with Alexia kept struggling for their happy ending trying to overcome every obstacle in their way. My feelings about this ending are mixed with sadness and happiness. I feel very sad because of some very tragic events that happened in the book but the beautiful ending, eased this feeling with sweet and happy emotions. The author did once again a great job and funny dialogues were also one of the highlights as there were in the previous books.
Great conclusion of this series, roller-coaster of emotions
The book starts with Alexia recovering from the assault and Jaxson being in the same hospital but spending time with Mia and their newborn daughter. As Jaxson seems to care more for Mia and Katelyn Alexia kicks him out and carries on with her life. Finally there is a series which proves that women are the stronger gender, Alexia is a very strong heroine, it’s a lot of fun to watch her actions. Jaxson seems to be a weaker type.
The story keeps going with many surprises and both unexpected and foreseeable twists and turns. The banter and dialogues with family and friends are hilarious, Alexia’s twins are adorable, it is a pleasure to read this romance.
There is a lot of suspense, grief, romance, love between all characters, and erotic scenes. These are no crude descriptions of the act itself but in the form of a witty dialogue, they stand out from the repetitive sex-scenes you can find galore in other novels.
Naturally they get their HEA but then the book carries on with marital life, all the adjustments, and the solving of some loose ends.
Again I have to complain about all the grammatical, interpunctional, and orthographic mistakes.
I liked the prequels, but with this last book the trilogy has become one of my favorite series.
“More sausage on that beach than in all of Vienna.”
“My only marital advice would be, if you’re going to fight, fight about something important, something real. And make sure when you fight, there’s plenty of time for makeup sex.”
“Mirror, mirror in my hand, who’s the luckiest bitch in the land?”
“I figured if you were set on being gay, then you might as well be with the hottest gaywad in Manhattan.”
“I love you with all I have, with all I am, and with all I will become.” My Review:
Finally! Praise be to the book goddesses, finally, and hopefully, Ms. Alexander will let Jax and Alexia be happy and stay happy, rather than torturing them with more break-ups and mayhem. Poor Alexia had broken bones, been repeated knocked up, shot, shocked, set-up for criminal investigation, cheated on, heartbroken, and miscarried. What more could happen to the poor thing? Despite the misadventures listed, these books were enthralling, maddening, steamy, addicting, and just… delicious. Sigh, so glad they got their HEA, yet I am already feeling withdrawals.
Beta read. I truly loved this book as much as I did the previous ones (and trust me that's a lot!) fantastic plot, awesome characters, loved, loved, loved it xxx
After reading the 3rd book in the series I am certain of a couple of things. I am so jealous of the lives they lead, the money they have, and love the feel.
Jaxon and Alexia have faced many tough times in their personal and then again in their adult life. No matter the troubles they face they have been able to survive together. This book test the strength of their relationship. It isn't so easy to ignore when their are children involved.
Mia, Jaxon's current wife, is a woman scorned. She tries her best to keep her husband at home with her and their unborn child and away from Alexia. Mia will stop at nothing to get what she wants by any means necessary.
I love that we finally get more information on the life that grandma has lived. She seems so strong, so sure of herself, and that there is nothing she can't control. Letting down her defenses and letting someone in can always make you feel weak, but she must trust someone. Spoiler alert, she does let someone in and marries him! Surprisingly he is someone who can change her stubborn mind!
Now poor Jaxon has wife and the woman he loves in the same hospital. They are separated by a couple of floors, for the sake of everyone. One mother will loose her child while another mother is giving birth, but where will Jaxon be with?
At them end of the story Alexia and her boys visit family who live on an estate that has seerate cabins for privacy. Alexia gets to see family photos of people she never knew. She learns some very interesting things about her mother and her past. She knows that she will continue to search for the truth about her mother's life after she abandoned Alexia and her sister Sam.
I know how the story ends, but it saddens me that the end is near. I know that I will read and re-read over and over again. I was given this book to review from the author/publisher through Reading Alley and in exchange I give my unbiased opinion
Oh my gosh I cried in this one. I don't want to give away too much because I think that would spoil the previous two books but this one is really an emotional rollercoaster. By this third book (you need to read the previous two to understand what's happening) I was so invested in all the characters that all the bumps hit hard. This book answers most our questions, and reveals many twists. The one I still don't get is the ex-wife, I can't get into it, without giving too much away, but this twist really confused me, not just cause I didn't see it coming, but to me, it doesn't really fit. I would love to read more of Alexia and Jaxson, with their friends and family. Although this is the end to their story, and we get our HEA, I still want to see their family grow.
I really enjoyed this whole series. The writing was great and I felt we really got to know and love not only Alexia and Jaxson but all their friends and family. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a strong female lead who you really laugh, cry and get angry with and for. A great series! A copy was provided to me by the ReadingAlley in exchange for an honest and unbias review.
Oh my gosh this series is just getting better and better. Jaxson and Lex have been through so much together and apart; just how far get someone be pushed before they break? Lex once again is left with questioning everything she has known and then must face her past to try and live once again. From the very beginning of this series you cannot help but feel for every person in these books; sometimes good thoughts and sometimes not so good. Jaxson is one of those people that you love but also hate sometimes to the point of wanting something to happen; when it does will that be the answer that Lex needs? Thank you Reading Alley and amazing author TL Alexander for allowing me to read and give a honest review of this book.
Beneath Layers is the third book in the Layers series, and a continuation of the drama that unfolds in Alexia and Jaxson’s relationship. They finally have an “us” in the utmost, fantastic, sigh-worthy, romantic wedding of all time. And it’s a spur of the moment event that takes place on a beach with all family and friends. The exchanging of vows was dreamy, and so romantic, it had me swooning from all the perfect words of devotion and faithfulness. Clearly, this was my favorite part. The other favorite part is the spying of Alexia and Calvin at a Caribbean restaurant by Jaxson and friends as they try to derail Calvin’s plans of seduction. Jules, Nick and Lee had me laughing over their stealthy and hilarious maneuvers.
The story was packed with lots of surprises and great reveals that I did not see coming. Things were not what they seemed, and I think I had a minor aneurism trying to connect all the details. Still, I was kind of convinced of the answers to the questions left from the previous two books. I was sad, though, that one of our beloved characters died in this book. I loved Alexia’s younger sister, Samantha with her sunny disposition, and I ached so badly for her loss. Ms. Alexander did a great job on this series, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hilarious dialogue and funny banter of all the characters. All in all, it was a very satisfying ending, and I look forward to reading Samantha’s story in Beyond Layers.

THE DARKEST LAYERS REVEALED…
It was such a hard journey… I am still recovering from all the angst, the pain, the loss, the darkness of the past (of ALL the characters), the twists and the bliss, too.
Since I don’t want to spoil the story, I’ll just say this Book 3 is the darkest of the Series, the dark before the light. We go through so much, in so many aspects, with so many characters…. We finally discover mostly all the mysteries of the past (and not only in Alexia’s past), we feel their pain, their traumas, their loss, it’s heartbreaking, and sometimes it feels so unfair (yes, you know what/whom I mean…) But this journey worth it…
I didn’t expect this Series would get so “serious”, remember, Book 1 was so much about LOL/LMAO, potty mouth and dirty sexiness….
This was definitely not a fairy tale with rainbows and princesses in pink dresses, and I think all the dark made the whole storyline more realistic.
So I closed this book, and the series….. and feel a little lost, a little alone, I don’t like saying goodbye to those characters, which means that TL Alexander did a fantastic job.
Thank you for all the surrealistic dialogues, the moments I laugh like a crazy, the moments I nearly cried, I really enjoyed the books and expect to see more of this author in the future.
So finally this roller coaster is over and boy if it wasn't one hell of a journey I must say.
I started this series randomly, it took me a while to understand everything, because to be honest in the first book everything was twisted and there were so many puzzles missing from this jigsaw.
I love Lex.. she's such a strong character in this whole series, even though I had issues with few things/situations but over all I loved her.
This series was full of surprises. So much that I had to raise my 'THE BROW' many times while reading, Most of the time my reaction was like "OMG... WTF...SERIOUSLY? NO WAY.... HELL NO...OMG....FFS....YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME....EHHHH ....BLAH BLAH BLAH" Yeah you get the memo.
Before starting next and final book... I just want to say "WHY" HE/SHE HAD TO DIE??????? he/she was definitely one of my fav characters in this series... I was just so upset.
This is the third and final book in the series of Alexia and Jaxson story. After barely surviving the horse accident and being in a coma for months, she finally regains conscience and finds out she lost their baby girl. Meantime Jaxson ex Mia has given birth to her daughter.
The two of them continue to fight for their happy ever after despite his ex who keeps them on their toes. With the help of their friends and family, they try to make things work as they finally get married.
Family life is never easy or sane with them and the twins are amusing. We feel the love and connection between them and can picture them as a real family together.
Just throw in a few more family secrets and an unexpected crush along the way in the mix. It was a nice ending that pulled together the three books.
Gets better with each book Before I started Beneath Layers I reread Layers and More Layers one more time. And boy am I glad I did. It made reading Beneath Layers even more enjoyable. I was so happy that Alexia and Jaxson finally get their HEA after everything that has happened to them through out the whole series. I am looking forward to reading Beyond Layers! I will defiantly be keeping my eye out for this author now on. Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.
Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review. I'm Sold On Jaxson Chase Ryan and Alexia Grant! This story so had me loving the back-and-forth, the byplay and the innocence of not being able to totally be free with oneself in the truest form, with the man you love. I liked that Jaxson admitted his initial attraction from the beginning - knowing that nothing and no one would come between what he knew to be the One. It gives us women reason to believe that it happens and men want it just as much! Thanks, TL...for giving us the fantasy and the dream-fulfilled.
I received this for an honest review.. I have to say that this book is was absolute pleasure to read.. I fell in love with these books with the very book... This book was an absolute roller coaster that I wasn't sure if I wanted to get off. The love story between Jaxson and Alexia was and is such a fun roller coaster.. You just do not know what will come at you next.. That is what I just loved about this last book!!!!
Too complicated. Too much excessive drama that could have been avoided, which leads to too much angst.
Since I didn't exactly read it, it is unfair for me to rate it. Keep in mind that this does not mean these books are bad. In fact, I think this could be a solid 5 stars for other readers. This is a "it's not you, it's me" case.
The writing of TL only gets better and you can see it in the continuation of the story from this family, blood and chosen. I was lucky enough to read these stories back to back and I suggest you pick them up all at once or you will be upset. Fabulous series How Crazy sex and wickedly funny non-curse words. I received this book as a gift from reading alley for an honest review.
I loved this book as well as the first two. The author did a wonderful job. I read Layers and More Layers . And boy am I glad I did. It made reading Beneath Layers even more enjoyable. I was so happy that Alexia and Jaxson finally get their HEA after everything that has happened to them through out the whole series.
This is the third book in the series. Lex and Jax are inspiring. They have been through so much together. There were several unexpected twists in this book. I laughed, but not as much as in the first book. I also cried "big fat ugly tears". Very good series. I received this book from Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.
