I am absolutely in love with this entire series!! Admittedly I didn't start book one until last year and had to immediately grab every book I could get my hands on. I honestly can say every book, every couple, every familiar and every side character has been pure perfection. I adored the touch of mystery to this one that entwined with the cozy cottage lore of this series. The Enchanted Highlands are permanently arched in my heart and I can't wait to see what is next for Tricia O'Malley I am sure it will be nothing short of extraordinary!! Thank you so much Tricia for the opportunity to have ARC read this one for my honest opinion....it was such a great read I ran over today and picked up the audio on audible.

Wow! I don’t even have the words for the conclusion of this series. It was the best book Tricia has written that I have read so far. Agnes and Graham’s story has been brewing for so long. Tricia has written it so well to make you laugh, sad, anger, and ball your eyes out. The bigger picture story is just beginning and I love that there is a new series that will deal with that. I am sad to say goodbye to these characters and I hope they show up here and there in the new series. I would highly recommend anything by Tricia but especially this series and this book!! I would give it 10 ⭐️ if I could!!

After what felt like forever waiting to discover what really happened between Agnes and Graham, Wild Scottish Fate was everything I had hoped for and more. Tricia O'Malley gave us the answers we'd all been yearning for while beautifully unravelling the lingering mysteries of the loch in a way that felt both satisfying and magical.

Closing the final chapter of The Enchanted Highlands was incredibly bittersweet. This series has become such a comfort read for me, and I know I'll be returning to these books for years to come. The characters have truly found a place in my heart, and their men and beloved familiars have brought me so much joy, laughter, adventure and love along the way.

Thank you, Tricia, for creating a world that felt like coming home every time I opened a book. The Enchanted Highlands has been a truly magical journey, and while I'm sad to say goodbye, I'm so grateful to have experienced it.

It's been a while since I rated an Enchanted Highlands book as a 5-star, but this one really hit the spot for me. I think a big part of that is that the series was starting to feel a bit "paint by numbers" that all had exactly the same beats with interchangeable characters.

This one, however, feels very different. First, we've been able to get to know both Agnes and Graham over the course of the 9 preceding books. But more than that, there's the fact that Agnes already knows all about the Order of Caledonia, so we don't have to see her going through all of the "figuring out what's going on" that we saw with each of the other characters.

And to some extent, the new information she does discover in this instalment shines a different light on all of the events of the previous books (as well as clearly leading us into the next series, which I'm overjoyed to discover will be happening!)

On the negative side, I had a little bit of an issue with some plot-convenient stupidity on Agnes's part. It wasn't enough to stop me enjoying the book, though, and overall, it felt like a satisfying end to the Enchanted Highlands series (which, at some point, I would really like to reread on Graphic Audio).

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how to do this review or even get through it without succumbing to the wealth of emotions I am feeling. The enchanted highlands series fell into my lap. At a time when I was struggling, I found comfort in books. And then some, when I stumbled upon Tricia O’Malley’s books. Little did I know, I’d become so completely absorbed in this extraordinary, funny and swoon worthy town’s stories.

Wild Scottish Fate is the final of this series. I was both excited and dreaded reading it. I couldn’t wait but also wanted to put it off as much as possible because the series had become everything to me and I never wanted it to end. In the biggest slow-build ever seen, we finally get to Agnes and Graham’s story.

Throughout each book, these two have sat in the background, adding significance to the storyline but with a brewing flirtatious relationship alongside. Each new character questioned their relationship and why they weren’t together and us, dear reader, were also champing at the bit. Little did we know that Agnes was the glue of the whole of Loren Brae and its tale of the Kelpies protecting the stone of truth and this climax would unleash all that we had faced during the build through the series. We finally get to the bottom of what has been plaguing the town for hundreds of years, what brought these fierce women as part of the order together, and really, what true love is underneath it all. After fighting for so long, Agnes gives in to her decades long love for Graham and he relishes his regular tries to get her to accept his love after all this time.

This book is ever so emotional for many reasons. Not only as the ending to the series, but in the deep, unrelenting love that finally comes together for Agnes and Graham, for the community and strong womanhood in the order and the bond brought together by magic and love with the women’s partners, family and magical familiars, particular as they bind together in moments of battle. The imagery that is created by O'Malley is something astonishing, where you can clearly picture not only Loren Brae, but the moments of drama so full of detail, it could be happening in front of you. There are moments of fear which make your heart race, moments of love and heartbreak that tear at your heart and magical moments that could be entirely real. It’s hard not to want or find a place in this world that she has created and feel real grief that it has now ended. Except… there seems to be an eluded prequel that I just cannot wait to get my hands on.

As always, O’Malley has created a love story and a man who I could only wish existed for me. I regularly come away from her books, slightly bereft at how such men likely don’t exist, how love stories like this are fiction and how magic likely doesn’t exist. But, goddamn it, has she not still provided hope that I would find myself a Loren Brae man in a whirlwind love, in a magical Scottish village, with a friendship and family of strong women, while I have some banter with my own mystical familiar sitting on my shoulder. Each book makes me want a different familiar, and Quilliam, the book wyrm, is nothing but an addition to that want, with his cuteness and quick wit.

Wild Scottish Fate is a wonderful ending to such a phenomenal series. I am sad that I can no longer be in the world for the first time again. But nothing is stopping me from starting from the beginning, to feel the beat of romance inside my chest and the brewing anticipation of the magic of the Order of Caledonia.

Any time a series ends, I worry a little of how the author is going to tie up all the plot points and give a proper goodbye to the world they’ve created. Many have tried, few have succeeded but I love the journey either way (most of the time).

Overall, I did really enjoy this installment of The Enchanted Highlands series. Agnes and Graham are the two we’ve been waiting for since we met them in book one. The “will they/won’t they” coupled with the last books “why can’t they” subtle foreshadowing made it feel like the big mystery of the town hinged on them somehow. And it turns out…it does.

I won’t do too many spoilers because everyone should experience the magic for themselves but I do have a few qualms I’d like to air.

First, and maybe it’s because I’m jaded currently when it comes to love & proclamations of it annoy me…but good fucking god. Stop with the constant professions of how much you love each other while getting put through the mattress. Like we get it. She’s the best thing you’ve ever seen and he’s the sun to your moon. We. Get. It. And I totally understand the “waiting to tell you how I feel for 10 years” vibe and the freedom to finally scream how you feel from the rooftops but good lord. Enough already.

My bigger complaint and this I will put in spoilers blackout thing…I feel like there was a huge missed opportunity for Agnes and her character growth.

The curse is for whoever she loves will be taken by the Loch. But later on in the book there’s an entitled pointed conversation explaining that there’s more kinds of love than romantic. Why does the curse then only take romantic lovers? Wouldn’t it have upped the ante for Agnes to break the curse if the other members of their Scooby gang were at risk? I get it. It’s a romance book so it focuses on Graham but it felt like such a great plot point to push her into…

My other issue with her story. She refuses REFUSES to ask anyone for help or share any kinds of relevant details that might accidentally solve her problems. Twice in the book she pays dearly for this mistake and almost loses Graham. Her redemption at the end should have been getting the rest of the women together, forming a plan and being united in their attack on the kelpies. Instead she goes out half cocked for no reason, doesn’t stop to think of all the outcomes (very out of character for her) and then almost kills Graham. Again. And while she does get a dressing down from some of the other members, there’s no plot point anymore to show she’s learned her lesson.

And then the last 15% of the book just. Kept. Going. It’s like when you’re trying to help your grandparent with a computer task and you think you’re done but wait! They have one more question. And then another. And another. And you feel like you’ve been stuck in a loop for 5 years when really it’s been 30 pages. The wedding felt really weird and rushed. And the next adventure and the gold leaf and the three queens and the…you get my point.

At the end of the day, I do love this series and will keep reading the next series possibly after re-reading all of these books. They’re a fun, magical romp in the Scottish highlands that gives you an escape from the real world 350 pages at a time.

Sad, happy, excited, swoony, in awe and back to sad! That's what this book and series did, it pulled out all the emotions from me. I waited a night and day to write this review just to try and get my feelings and emotions for how brilliant this series was. To do it justice, unfortunately I don't think anything I say\write will. I have waited through 9 books watching and waiting for Agnes and Graham's story! While Graham and Agnes flirted and circled each other, while they patiently played significant parts in each book, in each couples story, and each challenge faced to fulfill The Order of Caledonia and defeat the Kelpies and Beithir. We've waited and finally but sadly their story as well as the Order is complete. No more familiars, no more Clyde the ghost Coo, no more magick, drinks and trivia in the Tipsy Thistle, no more laughter, and imagining myself living in Loren Brea! It'll be awhile before I'm ready to leave this world or find another series that will even come close to this series! Wild Scottish Fate was a brilliant ending to this series! (even though I didn't want it to end). I will reread and revisit Loren Brea again and again I'm sure!
So in summary: if you are a lover of Scotland, myths and legends, love and finding your true soul mates, magick, laughter, magical beings all combined in a small town? This series and author is a one click read and follow! She will enchant you with her descriptions of Scotland and the characters she creates. Read in order and fall in love with this amazing small town of Loren Brea and the people that live there.✌

The day I have been dreading is finally here. I finished Wild Scottish Fate, which means I have officially completed Tricia O’Malley’s Enchanted Highlands series.
I’ll save my thoughts on the series as a whole for another post, because this finale deserves its own moment.
Keeping this as spoiler-free as possible, Wild Scottish Fate centers on the couple readers have been rooting for throughout the series. We finally learn why she has kept him at a distance for so long, just as he decides he can no longer keep yearning for the life they once shared. Their rekindling unfolds alongside the final stage of the Order of Caledonia’s quest, as the last piece of the ancient order sworn to protect a sacred artifact hidden in Loch Mirren finally falls into place.
This book took me through every emotion. I yelled at the heroine for her stubbornness, clutched my hands to my heart over the romance, and teared up as a quest spanning ten books reached its conclusion.
Amy Landon and Will Watt are spectacular in the audiobook. Their performances brought so much emotion, tension, and tenderness to a story that already carried the weight of an entire series behind it.
This is how a series finale should feel. It ties up enough loose ends to give readers real closure while leaving just enough open for future stories. I finished deeply satisfied, a little emotional, and already wondering what comes next.

​Their love is so beautifully written that it feels like it drifts off the page and wraps around your heart. -Me screaming this books praises from the rooftops.

​The moment this ARC hit my device, I immediately started reading and literally could not stop until I was done. As sad as I am to see the Enchanted Highlands series come to an end, getting Agnes and Graham’s story was the ultimate reward! ✨

​Ever since these two first teased us on the pages, I wanted their story immediately. But honestly? Saving them for last was pure magic. This book introduces incredible new magical creatures and a much deeper storyline, making it the perfect, epic buildup to close out this beloved series.
​And can we talk about Graham for a second? 🫠 All of Tricia O’Malley’s men are completely swoon-worthy, but there is something so deeply romantic about a man who sees the future he wants and never, ever gives up on it. Graham is all that and so much more.

​Everything about Wild Scottish Fate transcended what I had wished for. It was magical, emotional, and absolutely perfect.

What a wonderfully magical ending (OCH!) to a fabulous series. This series, and the characters, setting and the Magic have been such a wonderful place for me to escape to. We've waiting (not so patiently) for Agnes & Graham's story, and this one blew it out of the water. (Haha, see what I did there?!)
We all knew that there was something there for these two, but what was it that was keeping them apart? I won't share details, but it was a doozy, made more difficult by the fact that our heroine believed she had to work it all out on her own.
I LOVED that all of the previous characters showed up for this epic ending (SOB!), including the Familiars.
Well done, I'd give it 10 stars of I could. And those that are grieving the end of a beloved series as I am, all is not lost. There is another magical series on its way (BUT WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT SPRING...AGAIN, OCH!) which ties in. We can only hope that these characters, who we've come to love, get to put in an appearance somehow, if only by reference.
A recommendation, if you love audio books, absolutely listen to this one. I both read and listened depending on what I was doing at the moment, and Will Watt and Amy Landon did a perfect job bringing all of these characters to life. Now excuse me while I wander around my house aimlessly until I can find another magical series to get lost in.

A heartbreaking story but a rushed conclusion.

I loved returning to Loren Brae and its warm, heartwarming atmosphere. After following this world across 10 books, coming back felt both comforting and bittersweet, especially knowing that this was the final book in the series.

Agnes had never been one of my favourite characters. I did not particularly like her throughout the previous books, although I still felt sad that she was not part of the Order. However, her story changed my perspective on her.

Agnes and Graham’s story was heartbreaking. I started crying as early as Chapter 2, and I became completely invested in them. I had not expected Agnes’s book to affect me so deeply, but their relationship brought an emotional weight to the story that made me understand and care about her far more than I had before.

Overall, I loved the book. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the final 20–30%. Until that point, the story felt carefully constructed, but the conclusion seemed rushed and lost some of its internal logic. Several developments did not make sense to me or happened too quickly to feel fully convincing.

That was particularly frustrating because this book does more than conclude Agnes and Graham’s story. It closes a larger narrative developed over 10 books and brings the Order back together. Such an important ending deserved more space, clearer explanations, and a more satisfying resolution.

Despite my disappointment with the final section, the emotional impact of Agnes and Graham’s story stayed with me. I am giving Wild Scottish Fate 4 stars, with one star deducted because the rushed ending weakened what could have been an outstanding conclusion to the series.

•Come home to Loren Brae•

Every time I read a book in Tricia O’Malley’s The Enchanted Highlands series, it feels like coming home. Well, if home were a cozy, close-knit magical town in Scotland. The author has created such a rich and immersive world, blending in the magical elements like they just belong. I feel like I know these characters in and out, and the more I learn about them, the more I love them.

Wild Scottish Fate is the 10th and final book in this series, and the story is oh-so-perfect. Two sweet souls who were once lovers in the past are our main characters in this book, the adorable historian and bookseller Agnes, and handsome and ever-yearning pub owner Graham. We have met them, of course, in other books in the series, but the highlighting of their story in Wild Scottish Fate is definitely worth the wait. I found myself encouraging the two on their journey toward a second-chance romance as I read, hoping they would find a way to be together.

The ongoing tale of creatures in the loch is woven beautifully through the book, and, as always, the magical Order of Loren Brae must work together to unravel every secret.

I felt all the emotions while reading this book. I have grown to love these characters throughout the series, and the beauty and charm of Loren Brae will forever be in my heart.

My heart is so happy! I love this series and am so excited to return to the magical village of Loren Brae! With each visit I love the village and the characters more! This is the last book in the series and it was the perfect ending to the series. When reading I wanted to race through it because I needed to know what was going to happen. At the same time knowing it is final book in series I wanted to savor every moment with these characters and their familiars that have become friends

I have been invested in Loren Brae and the Order of Caledonia since I started the series and Agnes and Graham have been in all of them. This book is about Agnes and Graham and their part in the story. I adored seeing how their story was vital to the series as a whole. The other members of the Order of Caledonia and their partners added fun and friendship and magic to the story. The familiars of the group are so diverse and made me laugh with their antics.

The writing drew me in and transported me to Scotland and I did not want the story (or the series) to end! Filled with magic, friendship, found family and romance this is a delightful book to spend time with and I highly recommend you add it to your reading list.

"Some promises, it turned out, were more like prisons."

We FINALLY get the long awaited book of Agnes and Graham! Bitter sweet, really, as it's the 10th and final book in the Enchanted Highlands Series. Def read if you're looking for a small town, second chance, mutual pining romance with a cozy fantasy, cursed love, ‘Practical Magic’ in the ‘Highlands’ vibe where they kiss in the rain and The Bookstore Owner saves HIS butt {a lot} and the Pub Owner is gentle but bossy and says things like “Aye, lass.” {a lot} and "I didn't ask if you were hungry. I said you're going to eat." and "Every moment with you matters." and thinks things like "She felt like coming home. Like everything I'd wanted and never thought I'd have." Obvi, as with the other EH books, you can expect an HEA, because "what was the point of this if we couldn't have love?"

I seriously LOVED it! I laughed, I cried {a lot}, I read it slowly because I never wanted it to end - but also couldn't read it fast enough to find out what happened.

If you've not read any of the EH books, def start with Book 1 - Wild Scottish Knight. If you're finishing the series with this one, same sentiments. Buckle up! "This is Loren Brae... Everything here is a touch unbelievable... lean into it."

📖 BOOK REVIEW: Wild Scottish Fate by Tricia O'Malley (Enchanted Highlands, Book 10)

I got early access to this one directly from the author’s website on audio, and honestly? I wanted to cry knowing we've reached the end of the story for all these lovely characters. 🥹

Throughout this entire series, there's always been something simmering just under the surface for two particular people - and in this book, we finally get their full history and how it brought them to where they are now. I was SO anxious to see where these two would end up.

Tricia brings her usual amount of spice, no surprises there 🌶️ I laughed in parts, smiled through most of it, and honestly, this book took my emotions on a full journey. It really does make you feel everything as you read it.

The series doesn't wrap up in a neat little bow - there's still room for everyone to keep living their lives beyond the page, but this book gives you a truly satisfying conclusion to the two main characters' story. It's funny, moving, exasperating, tender, adventurous, loving, and magical - genuinely everything you want out of a romantasy.

This series is going to be so hard to let go of. 💛

ARC Review - Wild Scottish Fate

Well, readers, this is the one we’ve been anxiously waiting for…! Fans of Tricia O’Malley’s Enchanted Highlands series have been wondering about Graham and Agnes since the series began - and we finally have their story!

And what a story it is!!

I cannot delve too much into the story fearing I’d give away spoilers, but this book was the perfect finale for the Enchanted Highlands series. Readers will be emotionally ripped open at learning why Agnes Wright has always spurned Graham Kincaid’s advances - and it isn’t why you think!

Woven with rich ancestral stories and familial mysteries, Agnes is set to explore something about her family that she always believed was a curse, but what she learns leads to self-discovery, healing generational wounds, and, of course, love.

Tricia not only created a beautiful culmination of nine books, but found a way to give us all a little gift as well. Once you’ve read the book, you’ll have to let me know you think; only those that will have finished it will know what I’m talking about! ;)

I was both extremely excited and so so sad to have reached the final book in the Enchanted Highland Series. I fell in love with this series early in 2025 and fell in love before I even finished my first book (I actually read book 2 first). Every book has had a couple I have loved and a familiar I completely fell in love with. Wild Scottish Fate was no different, with the exception of the fact that I have been waiting for Anges and Graham’s story from the beginning. And boy did this book deliver.
This book was a complete emotional roller coaster. I love the banter I have come to expect from Agnes and Graham. But to learn their back stories and their emotional connection added a depth to their story. Throughout this story Agnes has to truly learn to depend on others and the other women in this delightful found family help her see that she can always depend on them.
Without giving anything about this amazing story away, I have to say the apex of the story was highly emotional and I cried, hard. I love all the familiars and how they support the women in the order. When I first read book 2, I said Brice has my whole heart. And the way Brice took care of everyone toward the end just solidified my love for him.
Thank you so much to Tricia O’Malley for the opportunity to arc read this book. I absolutely cannot wait to get into another facet of this story in the new series, The Wicked Alewives. (Book 1 coming March 2027)

I was so excited to read it as it was the love story I had been waiting for - it did not disappoint. This story was a long time in the making and I was very happy with how it all turned out. The big mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and the way it all wrapped up worked for me.

My only, minor, issue was that the Order - now a found family - is so large that not much time was focused on each character. Granted, I expected that since these books are shorter, but a little more time with each character would have been welcome.

All in all the conclusion was satisfying and it left me with a smile on my face. I was also happy to read that her next series will have some guest stars from this one, which based in how this one ended makes sense. Yes, this is a long series (10 books total including the Christmas story), but the books are pretty quick and easy reads and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not as magical as the others. Never quite got whatever Agnes’ power was. She is good researcher, but she had always been…so, not sure what she had. The tension is almost non-existent as that part was spread across the other books. The story itself wraps up a lot, and does include other characters from the other books. If you have not read the others, you will be lost. This story is not a standalone. You could try it, but you will be confused with all the auxiliary characters, and not quite understand what is going on with the stones, and the Order. If you have read the others, and you are like me who has read a LOT of books in between, you might want to do a refresher on the last book. I wish I had as I admit to not recalling some of the details she mentions from the last book, and had to piece it together as I went. Overall, though, this book is a good conclusion…and, possibly the beginning of another series.

Loved this series

Tricia O’Malley never fails to deliver wonderful stories about Scotland that make you climb into the settings and fall in love with her characters. Through this series my love was the ghostly Scottish Coo!!! And while reading this series I had the wonderful experience to travel around Scotland and go from Edinburgh, travel up to Inverness and that famous battlefield close by, up to the top and over to the Orkneys, back across the top of Scotland and down the west side to the Isle of Skye and then to Glen Coe, on to Loch Lomond to Glasgow! My Scottish blood loved traveling the land where my great, great grandfather was born and raised and as I read her stories I feel the connection to a country I fell in love with and the wonderful people I met while there. Please keep writing this wonderful stories!

A fitting ending, or is it?

At last Agnes and Graham's story. Every bit of the cheekiness, laughs and heartache from the prior books is here and more. All the questions are answered - well most - and secrets are revealed. A story worthy of this series and the Order of Caledonia. Agnes is the Bookkeeper and final member of the Order. Agnes must trust herself and face her greatest fear. The Order, their significant others, familiars and friends face off against the Kelpies. In a world of magic, Agnes must unravel the truth hidden in herself and the story behind the betrayal that doomed her family. At the heart of it is love: friends, lovers and family and the bedrock truth that there is no greater power or magic then love. While this part of the Enchanted Highlands tale is finished, there is more to come and I can't wait to read it.

This is the final book in the Enchanted Highlands series with Graham and Agnes's long awaited story. This was everything you've come to expect from Tricia O'Malley and more. Lots of drama, some angst, lots of love and all the friendship. This whole series has me dreaming of moving to Lorn Brae, but this book in particular made me love the fictional town even more. Lots of rallying around those you love. Lots of truths discovered. Lots of Clyde being Clyde.
While it is an ending for this series, it also lays the foundation for a new, connected series where I have a feeling that members of the Order will pop up. Maybe one or two more than the others.
It was the perfect ending to this series. Agnes and Graham were the last big loose end of this series and this book wrapped that up perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better series finale.

Life on the banks of Loch Mirren, this is a story that many of us will carry in our hearts for a very long time. Each story, each character is a link woven together by a master craftsman like taking natural deep green emeralds and making a beautiful bracelet, the way are cut, each pieced connected and polish till they glow ... each piece is unique with difference in color, unique characteristics in its deepest but together as a whole is so Amazingly.....
So overwhelmingly beautiful..
you're unable to breathe.....
Nor can you see... your chest is so tight with near drowning of emotions....

Finishing this book was bittersweet. I love all these stories in Loren Brae so much, so it was sad to leave them behind with this final book in the series, but what an incredible story Tricia O'Malley created for this one!

I can't tell you how excited I was to finally get Graham and Agnes' story, and Wild Scottish Fate certainly didn't disappoint. It was an incredible ending to an amazing series that tied everything up nicely without being predictable and still leaving enough open to let your own imagination take over.

Though parts of this book hurt to read because of how much I've come to care about all the main characters, the entire story was even better than I expected. I love how good Graham and Agnes are together, and oh the yearning and banter in this book is just *chef's kiss*!

5/5 stars! I absolutely love Wild Scottish Fate. I was so excited to receive an arc of this book. Wild Scottish Fate is book 10 in The Enchanted Highlands series. It is also the final book in the series. I cannot believe that the series is over, I did not want it to end. I could not put this book down and finished reading it in one day. Finally after 10 books, Wild Scottish Fate is about Agnes and Graham! I could not wait to read there book. I absolutely love the tropes included in Wild Scottish Fate, such as second chance love, Scottish folklore, yearning, pining, cozy fantasy, and slowburn.
