L'Antico Testamento.

Rate this book

A) To my mind the author of the book is eager to avoid any issue between the Bible and the modern culture and instead is willing to admit that Israelites battled their imaginary enemies, rather than had to slay everyone alive in the city. A very narrow minded evasive outlook on the Bible, religion and life from the very first page...;
B) Also Ezra and Nehemiah probably did not exist as well... (or what other historical faults did he find with them...?);
C) Thinks that Biblical texts were written rather late to justify new historical circumstances (why do I get a feeling about constant need to justify something?..);
D) The history in the Pentateuch is created and it does not seek to inform the reader... huh?
E) "God hardly ever intervenes into Joseph's life"... really?!
F) Bible fabricates stories for mare effect...???!!! - is the author even a believer?
G) Oh, and by the way, miracles in Exodus never happened -mare stories of the locals...
H) And salvation does not come from the Lord, it comes from the prophets...
I) Bible is a copy of mostly Mesopotamian myths...this or it integrates parts of them.

...and many more things... which add up to that sudden realization that you do not want to read that kind of Bible and also there is nothing to believe in as it is all a myth, a fib and efforts not to feel lower than the nation's around them...

Thank you, I'd rather keep the Bible I knew before I started this book...
