This book contains a-hole rockstars, hard rock music, drama, steamy sex, FBI raids, blood, drugs, partying, clubs, cursing, cursing, and more cursing, true love, tour buses, concerts, and a rocker wedding. Oh, and a pregnant rocker chick.
Complete and absolute utter f*cking chaos. The posters might call it "Hard Rock Roots", but that's the real name of our tour. Ten cities. Twenty nights. A million ways to die. But the music, we're all slaves to it; we couldn't fight it if we tried. Sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. It's all here, baby. But so is the blood, the death, the heroes, the villains, the FBI, the weddings, the end…and a new beginning. Gritty, dark, dirty, f*cked-the-h*ll-up. That's who we are. But we're also lovers, fighters, and survivors. We are Amatory Riot and Indecency. We...are rockstars.
C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.
She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.
Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.
Love is the great nullifier. It's the only thing that can truly kill grief, pain, that fights the horrid waves of depression and the constant kiss of lust, the backwards glance of regret or the future tremors of fear. Love is the base that nullifies the acidity of life.
Ok, this series is one of my favorites ever and I don't know how to feel now that it's over. The mystery is solved, no more kidnappings, comas, snipers…I'm glad it's wrapped up but sad it's over. Turner & Naomi, Ronnie & Lola, and Dax & Sydney are great as usual, and with the alternating POVs you hear from them all. My only problem is the errors. Grammar, typos, words switched around in a sentence, punctuation where there shouldn't be any, and chapter 22 was titled wrong. I mean it only took me three sentences to figure out that it was Turner "speaking" and not Naomi, but come on… Now, I want to say her other books weren't so filled with mistakes, but if they were, then the story had me so entranced I never noticed. But I don't think that's the case, I'm just surprised how many mistakes there are in this one and it pulled me out of the story every damn time. But even with all the many mistakes with the formatting, the story was good. I'm so glad I don't know how I feel about all the kids wandering around in the same house as both bands but I'm interested to see how it goes. I know technically there's another book, but basically this story is over, all the bad guys are accounted for at least…I hope Stunich will come back and keep tabs because I'm dying to see more of Indecency and Amatory Riot.
But…things can get real ugly, real quick, so it's best not to get bent out of shape and weep about your string of tough luck or your bad day or wonder why you were born wrong, but instead it's time to get dead serious, hold your doll face close, and pray you don't end up heart broke before you get hitched. That's all we were doing here, taking advantage of a moment, making the best of things.
I can't remember the last time I read a series of this many books without messing up the schedule. Mostly I forget a week, or don't feel like the next book for a while. In this case that never happened. I just wanted to read the next book and the next book and the next book. I was almost counting down to Tuesdays so I could read this series again.
This book marks the last book of the main story arc and I'm not sure if that makes this book a better book. In a way it also felt like it tried to cram too many things that we've been building towards into one book. The pregnancy, the wedding, the big finale of the ongoing conflict these two bands have been part of. It felt like there was not enough room for all the characters involved to really shine.
But, that doesn't mean the book was bad or not amusing. It just, somehow, didn't do for me what the previous books did. Maybe it is because it's the last one and I just enjoyed all the building up loads more than the happily ever after. Maybe it is the general atmosphere in the world right now. Maybe it's simply because I missed the drama and the conflict and those overwhelming intense emotions that touched something in me.
This book clearly is the finale, the ending of the series. It's a nice and satisfying ending. Maybe I just didn't enjoy it as much because I know it's the end. Very possible too. But, next week I'll check out Treyjan's book! I'm really curious about it!
You see, I got addicted pretty fast to this group of people, got so attached to certain characters, that I had no choice but read all 9 books within two weeks 🙈 What a ride that was!
If you are up for a romantic suspense ride with s*x, dr*gs and rockstars, if you want as many lovable characters as there are those you'll hate, if you want emotionally raw characters with as much darkness as well as light, this series is definitely something you don't want to miss!
And yes, you need to read all of them, if you want all the answers. And you should definitely read them in order.... Within all the trouble that the two bands got dragged into, there are three couples that find their love and whose stories are told along the suspense plot.
Absolutely loved it! There's a paragraph in this book that pretty much sums up this series and I think it totally kicks a** and it goes - "But...things can get real ugly, real quick, so it's best not to get bent out of shape and weep about your string of tough luck or you bad day or wonder why you were born wrong, but instead it's time to get dead serious, hold your doll face close, any pray you don't end up heart broke before you get hitched." I loved this author's play on words here!
All of these crazy, twisted, damaged, horny, hot as hell rockers embedded themselves into my life with each book and by Get Hitched all I can say is that I'm a total fan girl. Certain characters in this book finally got what they deserved, others obtain things that they didn't even know they were looking for or that they even wanted and I as the reader received a perfect ending to a wild ride that was Hard Rock Roots!
Wow! Completely over-the-top conclusion (for now) for Naomi and Turner, Lola and Ronnie, Sydney and Dax, and the rest of the band members and other characters who managed to make it to the end alive. But over-the-top is what this series was all about, so this book fit right in with its weddings, concerts, murders. I am exhausted, but it was a fun ride.
One hell of a ride 4.5 Stars I've been a huge fan of C.M. Stunich since her Never series, but this series is my absolute favorite. I love Naomi, she's so strong and fierce, and she lives her life out loud. She wears her scars with pride and she's such a bada** heroine. Turner is one sexy beast with flaws for miles, but man does he have heart. He owns his flaws like owns the stage, but him and Naomi together is music. Music that consumes and devours, curls up inside your chest and makes your heart rock to a whole new rhythm. These two are intense. I love how we get a piece of all the characters in this one. They're all so twisted, complex, and beautifully flawed. I can't get enough of them. The last one was pure and utter chaos, it was overwhelming, but this one was much more balanced and well paced. There were some spelling errors, repetitive use of the word diamond, and the wrong name on chapter 22. But I still found myself lost in these characters, and I couldn't tear my eyes away from this story. It was such a great ending and packed with a few surprises that will keep you turning the pages into the wee hours of the night. Oh, and Lola Saints had me rolling in tears of laughter. This book has it all, the tears, the joy, the music, the ugly, and the dirty. It's life and death. Love and chaos. Heaven and hell. It's a mistake wrapped up in sex, drugs, and hard rock. It strips you bare and lures you in with its devilish grin, lyrics like fingers that grip your heart, and a voice like a song that can awaken your soul. This series, these characters will rip your heart out and leave you bleeding on the floor. You'll still want more. I've recommended this series so many times I've lost count and not one has come back disappointed. It's a crazy ride, and I loved every heart pounding second of it :)
As Naomi and Turner set off to another tour with their bands the threat of more twists and turns and even death but who will be left standing at the end.
I'm a spastic ball of emotions right now! I literally just finished this book, like, right this second - my Kindle hasn't even gone black yet - but I just couldn't wait to get this review out. Some people like to let the words wash over them, let the finale of a good series sink in and ooze into their being before dreaming up the perfect review. Not me. No, this series is dirty, raw, & emotional and deserves a review that's much the same. Oooh my gosh, where to begin? The roller coaster. Up, down, forwards, backward, effing sideways...this whole series just destroyed every last piece of my soul in all the best ways. I'm not going to give a recap of the book - I hate that crud. Y'all can just read it and find out for yourselves. CM Stunich's writing is like grungy little pieces of poetry that stick in the corners of your brain, infecting every thought with its delicious plague. Her words are brilliant, funny, masterful, poignant, erotic ... blah blah blah ... they're just friggin' gold. (That paragraph where you added in all the titles? Holy hell, that was genius!) This is by far the best series I've ever read, and I'm beyond sad to see it go. It's so much more than a hot romance novel. So so much more.
Best book in the series, but not by any means a good one. This one is packed with action, heroes getting drunk or snorting cocaine in most inappropriate times, very little music and somewhat decent ending. If any reader expected to get all the mess from series untangled, they are in for disappointment. It ends with several deaths and narrative from Turner that he got all this shit explained to him but he couldn't be bothered to listen. Basically, author blew mystery and shit for 9 books and escaped the need to give answers. Handy. And disappointing for readers. All the pairing off, marriage, kids seemed like convenient HA . Foursome between Turner,Naomi, Dax and Sydney, while indisputably hot, did not go well with characters author created. I just didn't buy it,even with high on coke excuse.
Worth the read? Sure. It may be the only book worth the read in whole series. Do I recommend? If you are already so far in the series, then yes - get at least partial closure. If you are just scouting out if the series is worth it,then no,I would not recommend. Unless you find irresponsible adults with tendency for drugs attractive and don't mind clusterfuck of storyline.
Well, I don't even know where to begin... I guess I'll just say that I am glad the series is over. This book is the best of the series in terms of plot and character's growth, not to mention we don't have anymore those annoying cliffhangers and the extensive inner monologues. However, it seems like they gave room to all sorts of typos, misspellings and grammar mistakes. Considering that English is not my first language, the fact that I could spot so many errors is surely concerning. I still love the characters and the series certainly had a lot of potential. But unfortunately I feel the story overall could've been better written. Nonetheless, I still might give a chance to the stand-alone books that will follow in the hopes that the author will improve her writing style. She absolutely has awesome ideas and her characters are really fun to read.
Ive missed this series and it's characters, and with this book we get four points of views!!! Soo excited and Ronnie is seriously the sweetest man, “sure am, doll face.” He chucks me under the chin and winks at me with those warm brown eyes of his. “Get dressed up, baby. I'm taking you out.” Turner that man is so head over heels for Naomi, “hey, everything's going to work out fine tonight. We're going to have pizza and effing cupcakes, grab a drink at the bar, and then you'll see what I've really got planned for you, baby.” It's like Turner can't get enough, "Turner's behind me, his hips pressed tight to my ***, showing off an impressive erection. “Didn't you get enough in the van?” I loved this book, I really did love seeing all the characters again.
This whole series was a waste of money. THis could have all been written as ONE book, instead of 10 books that you have to pay for. Each story was sooo drawn out. I usually like this author- except for the fact that we have to wait YEARS for her to finish series.... and this series was definitly not her best writing at all.
How it all came to completion didn't work for me. How everything ties together didn't work. Story lost a lot of the craziness as the series went along. And there was not crazy in this book 😂
Great story, thrilling ride. Lots of ups, downs, and twists. Glad that the questions were answered, however, it feels like something is off or just missing. Either way great story.
An exciting end to a spectacular series! I'm going to miss these characters, I sure hope there's more! Edit: It’s a couple of weeks later and I can’t stop thinking of Turner, Naomi, Ronnie, Lola, Dax and Sydney and every other character in this series. I’m having a hard time reading other books right now. I want more! I want a follow up 5 years later for updates to this dysfunctional “family” Thank you CM 🖤
If you haven't started this series, now that book 9 is here get busy reading. Get Hitched is everything I was waiting for and hoped it would be. Turner MotherF@#$ing Campbell is trying to convince Naomi Knox that they should be together till death do them part, which might happen sooner rather than later, with a price on Naomi's head both bands find themselves on a 10 city tour run by the very person that wants them dead. But amongst the murder and mayhem there is love, hot sex and humor. I am not ready to say goodbye , so thank you CM Stunich for this wild ride, can't wait for more.
I love all of the characters from the Hard Rock Roots Series! That they get their untraditional HEA was the bomb! Sex, drugs, rock&roll, love, and kids! Everything I could have wanted! References to her band in the book from her other series made it that much more special! Turner fricking Campbell, what more can you say? I highly recommend this book and series! Can't wait for more, I could read about these characters forever!
Well, I am just glad this is over. It's been a very long journey. If not for curiosity, I probably will not read this book. The cliff hangers of the previous books was very annoying. Anyhow, Turner and Naomi made it as do almost all their friends. 'The Sword of Damocles' just hung over them as usual. This book was written in several POVs that I don't care about. I gave it four stars for sentimental reasons (Naomi, Turner, Trey), otherwise it is a three star read.
At least the domestic terrorism is over (I hope) and our little love birds are married. This was a well written series, that I read each book back to back. At times the stories grew tiresome and the drug abuse was obnoxiously often, and the characters were just ultra rich spoiled children calling themselves Rock Stars who at times I thought were STUPID. I did enjoy it, not like the motorcycle club books, but enough.
Loved this series! I was always on the edge of my seat until the next book came out. Sad this is the end but happy we will still get to see all of the amazing characters! Turner and Naomi! Dax and Sydney! Ronnie and Lola! I can't wait to hear about Trey! I really hope we get a book for Blair too! Awesome series
I really enjoyed reading this series, and am really hoping to see even more from this bunch! Great ending to the fight they were having with the H/H/W Families. This was definitely a roller coaster ride, as I have come to expect from the rockers in the Hard Rock Roots Series! Still can’t decide which couple is my favorite...
Every book gets more intense and it’s a fucking AMAZING ride!!!! The sex, the drama, the love ALL gets more intense. This one is my favorite because it’s super intense and raw. Every character was kept in line and revealed bits of themselves throughout this book and I don’t think it could have been done any better! Major props babe keep rockin!
I can't believe the series has come to an end, or has it? If it has I really enjoyed the ride. If it hasn't I all continue to read about the two bands. Loved the three shotgun wedding!
Ahhhhh finally!! Loved this series, even though at times I wanted to pull my hair out. Thank you for pulling off a few bonus happies at the end. I am looking forward to the following stand alone books. No sociopathic billionaires necessary.
