Generated using the bombastic ‘fantasy’ AI, this is just another piece of trash generated and thrown onto the midden heap.
I’m sure all the incel neckbeards will praise and provide 5 stars for this misshapen garbage, but if the reader is smart, they won’t ever pick this up.
The story is about struggling to accept who he is vs. who he was, while changing future outcomes. He travels back in time and returns expecting to be who he was, but the "System" has other plans. Plus, all the women that he was connected to and died are there young and alive. While a freshmen, he knows all the answers to his classes, but tries to act less smart. This is obvious to several of his classmates, including the lost loves in his last life. He has to let their relationships become more, naturally vs showing then how much he cares...
A few battles with a lot of "school" leaning does not excite someone that reads lots of RPGHarem. I found it a bit boring, though I pushed through 90% b4 I gave up. I felt it just dragging.
Took 9 days to read, couldn't even enjoy the few brief sex partners...
The story and characters are good, the book is well paced and the spice is decent and makes sense. The caveats are that there are just some weird inconsistencies that don't make sense. Like how the rest of the MC original party is not mentioned once until literally the last few pages, like those 3 women had a bond with him as well but they're never mentioned. Also the other two classes at the academy are never mentioned except at the beginning and end, like we don't even know what a "warden" or "scholar" even do that's different from a battle mage or healer. The book was still very well done and maybe these details are left out on purpose but it feels strange not having these detail. I will probably still read the next one.
I have started a number of series by thus author. Sometimes I finish the first book, more rarely the second, and never the third. The issue, for me, is thus writing style. Every book, every series, without fail, has a heavy handed, "precise" set of analogies, analogies that are not actually precise and that are used in place of writing. Over and over and over again. Page after page, many times per page. It us exhausting. It turns a decent story into a chore. I give up.
Second book I've read by this author. Author is an AI bot. I don't mind AI stuff as long as it's not as bad as Rise as a Demon Lord.
The MC is interesting but it feels like he fails upwards. "Oh I figured you out, but I love you anyways despite lying to me" ... sure. The sex scenes aren't the worst. At least the harem is made up of unique characters. There's an actual plot here somewhere but it's not delivered in this book.
The author seems to lose track of their story, especially in the middle. Conflicting narratives, constant filler repetition, nonsensical reactions, and many eye-rolling moments of "okay, we get it. Move on already!" Core world-building is solid and interesting, but this wasn't ready for publication.
I prefer my MC to be over powered and super assured and confident. The MC in this story is a weak minded fool being lead around by what's between his legs and doesn't know how to put people in their place. I do NOT recommend. The book is just flat and boring!
Most of the conversations are repeated between Kael and his companions. The reason for hiding his regression is ridiculous and the academy and world are too idiotic to live.
He lost everything, but he's got a chance to redo it all. Except he's no longer the class he was, he's now a healer. He has to learn new thing reconnect with the people he lost and discover how strong he really can become.
A good story that flows is difficult to keep as one theme gets overwritten by another. Excellent plot, the characters are 3D and the problems not easily solved. Originality’s head rises several times which leads me feel this author is quite a writer
Too repetitive, started strong but it felt 1/3 way in the author was just trying to stretch the page count with repetition. I stopped at about 70% of the book. Healer turned main hero story. Other books have done it better.
Either there’s a lot of AI in use in this book or the author is really bad about keeping track of the order things happen in. So many times in the book something is referenced before it happens… eventually got to be too much
It forgets what it wrote, says things like "holds her hand, squeezes, then reaching for her hand". It makes references to a conversation that hasn't happened yet, from a 3rd party who won't be part of the conversation, but somehow knows what both of them will say.
I am not against using AI, but it does not do all the work. If the author had taken the time to proof read or edit, they might have noticed the obvious issues. Overly descriptive filler, lifeless characters, off putting dialogue, repetitive analogies, etc, etc.
I enjoyed how you explain time travel. And how much the character had to shoulder as he had to start over and jeep his secrets but try to save the ones he loved.
