This Witch Is Not Wicked by Tee Harlow completely swept me away.
I loved the world-building, from the fascinating Godwitches to Enid’s complicated reputation as the village’s “wicked” witch. The sentient bog absolutely stole the show for me, and while I feel like I heard more about the bog than the castle, that ending has me convinced there’s much more to discover in the next book.
The romance was beautifully developed. Watching Enid and Nevan’s relationship grow felt natural and heartfelt, from Enid standing up for Nevan to Nevan choosing Enid when it mattered most. I also loved seeing Enid gradually find her place within the community and begin to build connections of her own.
What really made this a 5-star read was how satisfying the ending was. Every thread of the story came together in a way that felt earned, emotional, and incredibly rewarding.
Enchanting, heartwarming, and impossible to put down. I loved every minute of it
This series is the perfect balance of whimsy, action, and romance! Vine and Morton are my favorite characters.
Nevan is the well liked, hot & nerdy type while Enid is feared and a town outcast. I normally am not a fan of fake dating, but this was done beautifully. I enjoyed watching Enid come into her power and learn how to love all her imperfections. I resonated with Nevan and always putting others needs and wants before his. Their relationship was genuine and I loved the build up to it. I will be reading every single one of the books in this series. I am in awe of the world building and it reminds me so much of movies that Studio Ghibli produces - just book version. This is fun, magical, and inspiring with the right amount of spice!
Favorite quote: "You have value. Your value doesn't lie in what you do or what you create. It's there because you exist."
Can I please live in Fairwitch Isle? I love the world that @teeharlowe has created in this series so much.
💭If you could live in a cozy fantasy world, which one would it be?
I loved This Damsel is Not in Distress, and I jumped at the chance to return for Nevan and Enid’s story in 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐖𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝. (Thank you so much for the eARC!)
What I loved about this book (and I think you will too): -The fake dating - Enid is not well-liked in Fairwitch Isle and Nevan’s mom wants him to find a partner. He doesn’t want to date anyone, so he comes up with this idea of fake dating to help her become more likable and for the women in town to leave him alone. -The continued world building (and the Wicked vibes) -Moments with Wolfe, Niamh, and Morton. 😍 (they were the main characters from the first book - it’s not necessary to read it first but it would definitely make the experience more enjoyable!) -The book club and strong female friendships. (The more I read of Niamh the more I’ve come to the conclusion that she and I are a lot alike. The cheese at the romance book club that she organizes sealed the deal for me. 😂) -The spicy scenes are 🔥 (and they visit his lab together 👀)
I can’t wait to read This Prince is Not Charming.
Eager to read This Witch is Not Wicked? It will be available to read on June 25th!
I just couldn’t help myself and had to start reading my ARC for This Witch Is Not Wicked!! I am once again so grateful to be on Tee’s Street Team so I can yell about her books!! Where do I start? The banter? The yearning? The sentient bog? Vine? The sl🫦tty glasses?? This book was phenomenal!!!!!! Our story continues after the citizens of Fairwitch Isle moved their entire city & castle… the thing is, it landed in a sentient bog. This also happens to be where Enid has lived for …quite a long time. There’s a lot of change for everyone. Unfortunately, Enid develops a bit of a reputation that’s built on misunderstandings. They usually go something like…
Citizen: Insults plants in the bog Plants: Lets the citizen know they didn’t like the insult. Enid: “Have you considered not insulting them?” Citizen: 😡😡 Kick her out!
All of this is happening while Nevan is just trying to be the city’s healer(which is something he doesn’t want to do), but his mother wants to see him settle down and there’s some meddling. In order for both Enid and Nevan to deal with these circumstances, fake dating becomes the answer! This of course goes well enough at first, but then we have… Feelings!! And wow, Nevan sure falls fast for a man who said he didn’t want a relationship. He’s also EXTREMELY devoted if ya know what I mean heheh. We love a smart man who is down bad and he’s obsessed. Enid was so funny despite honestly having been treated quite horribly for the majority of her life. Watching her make friends and get flustered — chef’s kiss 💋. I loved her and it was also pretty cute to see her gradually accepted Nevan’s advances past the fake dating. They had AMAZING chemistry together. While Nevan may have fallen first, Enid just soaks up the attention. I love that for her!!!
I don’t want to say too much more because spoilers. However, I had the BEST time reading this book and I cannot wait for the adventures Tee will take us on in the next book 😏! This Witch Is Not Wicked releases on June 25th!!!!
I absolutely love these books! They are so fun!! I liked this one even more than the first! Nevan is a nerdy MMC with slg who doesn’t stand up for himself and does things to make everyone else in his life happy. Enid is a green Demi-godwitch with a cuddly sentient python vine as a bestie. She is misunderstood and never been accepted by the people around her. When they start fake dating for the mutual benefits they get to know and appreciate each other. Enid stands up for Nevan like no one else does and Nevan loves and accepts every part of Enid while helping her make friends and found family among the town. Such a good time!!

° ˖✧ 𝓜𝔂 𝓣𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼 ✧˖° After having read This Damsel is not in Distress earlier this year, I was excited to read the sequel! Especially when I found out the list of tropes matched some of my favourites. However, it didn't quite meet my expectations.
The story has a prologue that picks up where the previous book ended, then the story skips two years. I would've preferred to not have the time jump, as it would've given a clearer example of the how Nevan and Enid interact before their agreement. As is, they feel almost like strangers, despite other characters mentioning tensions between them.
I do love the world though! Fairwitch Isle is a wonderful community with mystical buildings and powers, and having the setting be in the witch's bog was a really fun change of pace. I enjoyed how nature played a bigger part between Enid's magic and Nevan's alchemy - potions has always been interesting in fiction to me!
I especially loved Vine - the sentient plant Enid had created that follows her around like a mischievous puppy. It's smart and friendly but only when respected, and I was happy Enid didn't have to spend all those years without company. When Vine starts spending time with Nevan and Fiona (a child of a friend in the village), it was so wholesome!
That being said, I would've loved to have seen more of an expansion on Enid's magic and the sentient plants in her bog - it felt like an opportunity missed. This was the same, unfortunately, with the conflict too. A lot of the plot conflict occurs in the last act of the story, and as a result the pacing speeds up and issues are resolved a lot quicker than I prefer. Spreading them throughout the personal conflict would've added more depth and appealed to me more.
I was also a bit disappointed by some of the pre-existing characters from book 1. I quite liked Cillian in Damsel, but he's extremely unlikeable in Witch. And Wolfe, now that his story is complete, felt a bit flat compared to the insights we got previously. However, I did enjoy Niamh's friendship with Enid and the other book club ladies.
The physical tension between Enid and Nevan was great! Once they'd begun spending time together, the tension was immediate, and I loved their flirting. It was also interesting to see her react to modern culture that she'd not been exposed to previously. Plus their spice was great - with the exception of the word "spurted" being used so often.
However, going into the book expecting a nerdy shy character in Nevan, I actually got a nerdy charmer. It took a bit of getting used to, as Nevan felt a bit arrogant - which isn't my preference in MMCs. Also Enid seemed quite immature, though this could be due to her lack of social interactions with others. Their overall relationship conflict seemed sudden and with extreme reactions. It's surprising because their are actually more pages in Witch than Damsel, but the story felt much less developed to me.
Despite being really interested in how Cillian's book will go next, I'm not sure that I'll pick it up. That's not to say that you won't enjoy the series though!
Thank you to Tee Harlowe for the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you so much to one of the coziest authors Tee Harlowe for this opportunity to read the second book on the Fairwitch Isles series.
Firstly, I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!! I loved that this story was heavily coded in Elpahaba and Fiero vibes. If Fiero was a nerd, but alas Nevan is still a prince and fell in love with a woman who rocked his world unexpectedly that comes from “not” societal norms.
The story pretty much goes right into where we semi leave off of from the first book when the castle teleported but it happens that Fairwitch Castle lands on an enchanted bog, and and thus the story is off.
The story was adorable, and don’t get me wrong I loved Wolfe and Naimh, butttttt I think Nevan and Enid are definitely my favorite. This Witch is Not Wicked sets an amazing tone when you need to just sit back, kick your feet, an enjoy an enchanted cozy book.
a huge thank you to the author for gifting me with ARC. I am such a huge fan of her writing style, so this book was a 1000/10 for me!
This book is the second book of the series but can also be read as a stand alone. It does integrate characters from the previous book, which I loved. I loved seeing Morton back in the mix because he was one of my faves from the first book. This book feels like a mix between Howls Moving Castle mixed with a little Wicked in there. The vibes were incredibly high.
Enid was such an amazing main character. She’s so spunky and starts off super sour, but turns out to find herself and her real friends. I also love that she has Vine. He’s such a fun and cute character!
Nevan is the handsome and nerdy main male character. I love his interactions with Enid! It’s so sweet and genuine. I love that he also learns to be true to himself.
The banter between the characters is my absolutely favorite. There are sooo many funny moments between Morton and book club and little Fiona! I couldn’t put this book down! If you love cozy and spicy romances with funny moments and wholesome themes, you have to check this out!! 💕🐍🌱❤️
Having read and loved the first book( The damsel is not in distress) of this series(different couples within one setting) I had really high expectations and they were more than met. I really enjoyed this read. It was fun, touching, relatable and so sweet. Enid is a tough on the outside and soft on the inside kind of FMC which I really like. She is so set on her being a bad person and not deserving of anything that reading it sometimes hurt. This belief is so ingrained in her mind that she nearly misses her one true love. I really like the chemistry she has with Nevan and how all of this starts out as fake dating- but we all know how fake dating goes in books 😉 I really loved the plants and her affinity for it. I was especially fond of Vine. It did not speak but the author still made a „person“ out of this plant that I really got to like.
First off thank you to Tee Harlowe for the privilege of the eARC of this book. I loved it! Interestingly, I found out via FB memories that I read the my first Tee Harlowe book, Potions and Prejudice, exactly one year ago.
This was a charming, funny, spicy, and just overall wonderful read and a great addition to this series! I loved all the new characters and it was so nice to see the ones we already knew as well. I really enjoyed the story and how the town slowly accepted Enid and, more importantly, how Enid accepted herself. The fact that so many in Fairwitch Isle are misfits and that is why they said Enid would fit it was just so perfect. Everything about this book, the story, and how it was told just made me smile and I just loved it! The way this book ended has me very excited about the next book - I cannot wait!!
A fake dating rom com set in a magical sentient castle that has recently landed in the middle of a thriving bog.
Enid takes pride in being known as the wicked witch of the bog. She's been alone for thousands of years, and she is more than happy to have only her sentient plants as company. Unfortunately, Fairwitch Castle has crashed directly into her bog and now her swamp is swarming with people. She tries her best to ignore them, but when they threaten to banish her for her plants' misdeeds, Enid needs to get into the people's good graces—and fast. That's when prince Nevan Wolfgang enters her life and offers her a proposal: the two shall fake date for the next eight weeks in order to get the townspeople to like Enid and to get Nevan's overprotective mother off his back. A bargain is struck and the two reluctantly begin to spend time together. As their fake dating scheme deepens, they find that they value the other's time more than they ever could have anticipated.
I was a huge fan of book one in the "Brothers of Fairwitch Isle" series, so I was super excited when the ALC of "This Witch is Not Wicked" hit my inbox. I enjoyed Nevan and Enid's story almost as much as I loved Wolfe and Niamh's, which is really saying something!
Enid is quite a spunky FMC. She has been alive for thousands of years and it honestly quite fed up with people (which is totally valid). She is a witch with unique powers and a hoard of sentient plants at her back. Vine is an absolute cutie (though he isn't quite on the same playing field as Morton), and I can say with conviction that sentient plants make any cozy fantasy all that much cozier. Having such a grumpy character to pair with Nevan was quite great, and I'm happy that she was willing to tolerate Nevan's crazy scheme so they could end up together in the end.
Nevan Wolfgang loves his family and will do anything to please them. Anything, that is, except get a girlfriend. Nevan is a bit of a nerd who would rather spend all of his time locked in his room reading a book than socializing with a pretty woman. However, he is a people pleaser at heart, and he puts his own feelings aside to serve his people and appease his mother. It was nice to see Enid bring out a wilder side of Nevan, because though I love his nerdy side, it was nice to see him do daring things, like learn to swim in Enid's bog.
The fake dating plot in this book is top notch! It was so funny seeing Enid and Nevan try to bury their attraction for one another as if they were simply fake dating for mutual gain. They learn that they have a ton in common from their love of plants and nature to their yearning to be accepted for who they truly are. It was so sweet watching them push one another to tackle their own dreams, rather than keep being suppressed by what society has declared for them. The way that Nevan shows Enid that she is enough just as she is was actually so heartwarming and swoonworthy these two have me feeling as though my heart could melt.
Similar to the first, this book is quite spicy. Honestly, I'm not sure if these two ever have sex in an actual bed, so Enid and Nevan certainly like to live their lives with a little risk and adventure. They first decide to get intimate to take advantage of the situation they are in, but it's clear that these two were already harboring some deep feelings for each other. Their chemistry is electric, and they certainly like to talk dirty in the bedroom. These two have a hard time keeping their hands off one another, so this book ends up being pretty spicy.
Returning to Fairwitch Castle is like coming home. Every time I start to read one of these books, I am overwhelmed by the feeling of comfort this series provides. This book was especially cool because I was already familiar with so many of the characters; truly our only new recruits were Enid and her plants and Fiona, a young village girl that Enid befriends (which actually we may have met her in book one, but I don't recall). Seeing Niamh, Wolfe, Morton, Margaret, Cillian, Ceri, and the rest of the gang was like a family reunion, and I was totally here for it. I'm sure this feeling will only grow in the next book.
The ending to this one also has me desperate for more. I hope that one day the citizens of Fairwitch will be truly safe from those that hunt them. I am interested to see how the final showdown with the Brotherhood goes and what exactly will happen to our fourth mysterious Wolfgang brother. I hope he gets his own book in this series, because he really intrigues me and he is a brother of Fairwitch, after all.
Overall, "This Witch is Not Wicked" is another fantastic installment in the "Brothers of Fairwitch Isle" series. I am absolutely addicted to this world, so reading this book was so comforting. I was a huge fan of the fake dating plot and thought that Enid and Nevan are just perfect together. From the romance to the characters, to the worldbuilding and the cozy vibes, literally everything about this book is amazing. I am super excited to read Cillian and Ceri's story in the next book "This Prince is Not Charming" in the very near future.
Audiobook Note: Tee Harlowe has hired amazing narrators to bring this series to life, and this book was no exception. Sara Brodt does an amazing job of bringing Enid to life. She has the most gorgeous accent she uses, and I can't imagine Enid sounding like anything else now. Her kid voices were also really cute, and I feel her voices for reoccurring characters from book one also matched well. D.B. West uses his talents to bring the male characters to life. Nevan is a bit of a foxy nerd, and West's voice matches that perfectly. These narrators nailed their characters, and I would listen to more of their work with no questions asked.
Français ⬇️ I have ARC read and listened to the ALC of This Witch Is not Wicked of Tee Harlowe and I absolutely loved it. I started by reading a few chapters, then received the complete audiobook and listened to the rest… It was addictive! Not only is the story well-written and does it explore the fear of the strangers in depth, but it also highlights the difficulties a new immigrant faces adapting to a new country. I identified with Enid a lot, even though I chose to leave on my own and she didn't have a choice. Not at all. Abandoned by her family centuries earlier, she wakes up one day in a castle (with its village) that has chosen to appear in the middle of her beloved bog. A bog she chose because she appreciated the relative peace and isolation it provided. And now, she must adapt her life to this new… kingdom which, quite clearly, doesn't want her and her plants, and even less her magical companions. Well, it's mostly the habitants who don't want her. The magical castle, however, chose her immediately; she was accepted without hesitation, and his golden key appeared right away on her green skin. But the fear of the stranger, of the unknown, is very real, and our two main characters choose to work together to be accepted by their neighbors and left in peace. Enid wants to continue tending her plants, and Nevan wants to be left alone in his laboratory, far from the women who all dream of marrying him off and hitting the jackpot of the few remaining eligible bachelors. Like in the second book of this series (the novella being the first book), we find the same ingredients: a magical place, the bog; a magical companion, Vine; the portrait of Margaret; the two gargoyles; and a hint of Morton. All of this, magically written by Tee, offers us a feelgood book where romantasy isn't reduced to an apocalyptic end of the world, but rather to learning to accept oneself and find one's path, despite the circumstances. If I haven't yet convinced you to read this book, perhaps I can convince you to listen to it! The narrators were perfect! This dual narration gives the book a whole new dimension. DB West lends Nevan the perfect voice of a slightly geeky man, but one full of depth and courage. Sara Brodt, for her part, gives Enid such a distinctive accent that it clearly sets her apart from the other characters. Her intonation emphasizes her certain age and the rela8 wisdom that comes with it. We're far from a 17-and-3/4-year-old heroine who already has to fight for the good of humanity. The author's vision is perfectly supported by the narrator, and Enid wonderfully wear her age and her unique qualities. It's a 5 ✨ for me! I can't wait to read the next book about the 4 brothers of this little kingdom. Where, this time, it's the prince who... won't be the most charming.
After This Damsel is not in Distress I did not think a story could be more cozy or that I could like side characters more. I was SO wrong!!
If you had told me that one of my favourite characters in a book could be a sentient Vine I'd never believe you! In addition to my previous favourite side characters (Morton the pink bookwyrm and the sentient painting of Margaret) I cackled so much whenever the gargoyles Tal and Barty were present! I'd like more of them too please! But my favourite in this was Vine and the other sentient plants.
I also adored Harlowes take on plants in the story that are being labeled as bad because of how they look or that they sting or something. That they actually can be used for good things. And how those were in this you'll read and find out! But it's genious!
In addition to Vine as my favourite in this there's also Fiona! The most curious, helpful, sweet and smart little girl! You just will love her!!!
In the end of TDINID we were introduced to Enid the green witch who lives in a bog far from anyone and in minutes her life is upended and turned upside down! And I felt for her! Her inner thoughts were so self destructive and born out of shame, guilt and feelings of non approval! I felt so badly for her and her story and I also cried quite a few times! Nevan is the man! Kind, passionate, hardworking and a huge people pleaser. He talks, he listens, he sees you. Only the thing Enid wants the least.
Nevans mother has let out a rumour to the town that he wants to find a wife and Enid is left with 8 weeks to turn things around for herself so she isn't thrown out of town due to her 'bad' behaviour and interaxtion with the townsfolk..Nevan sugest a solution to their problems and Enid reluctantly agrees as a last resort.
This is not only a cute, cozy, whimsical fairytale story. It's also about standing up for yourself, learning to love yourself and set boundaries, trust in others and to open your heart to friendships and love after being previously hurt by people in your life.
I have a favourite line also from the book! Maybe one of my all time favourites because of the message it sends:
"You have value. Your value doesn't lie in what you do or what you create. It's there because you exist."
I just love this world building, we get so much information in background stories from other characters and we learn so much new about the world, how it works, how it was before. And it's so easy to understand and you'll never even be aware of it. And that is brilliant worldbuilding if you ask me!
I love Fairwitch Isle and everything about the world, the people, the beings in it and the characters. I love that we get more!!
And i wish this will be a neverending series because it will be my favourite go to cozy read!!
Thank you Tee Harlowe for gifting me an early read of this! It will always be a pleasure ARC reading for you!!
Book Two in the Fairwitch Brothers Series did not disappoint! A solid five-star read for cozy fantasy and romance lovers.
Summary: Enid's green skin and surly attitude aren't the only reasons why the townspeople call her a wicked witch. It's her deep connection to the sentient bog and the "monstrous" plants that seem to obey her that wreak havoc on the town. Most notoriously, Vine - a sentient python vine, does everything to protect Enid - even if it means harming those who get in its way. Prince Cillian gives her an ultimatum: change her reputation in 8 weeks or face exile.
Meanwhile, the Fairwitch brothers' mother falsely spreads the word about her son Nevan's search for a wife, causing an ungodly amount of women to surge into his lab hoping to gain his affection. Nevan, Cillian, and Wolfe's younger brother, is convinced that the only way to reduce interruptions to his work is to find a fake girlfriend. So he concocts a plan to fake date Enid, hoping to turn around her reputation and reduce the marital pressure from his mom.

Thoughts: This is book 2 in the Fairwitch Brothers' series, and I actually enjoyed this more than the first book in the series. Enid's character arc is flawlessly executed. I connected with her, feeling like a misfit and a failure to her family. Her loneliness is palpable, making the bog a plausible place for her to live out a solitary life. The setting provided the story with a lush, magical background. The budding romance between Nevan and Enid was outstanding. I loved Nevan's character arc and how he slowly began to see how much of his career and personality hinged on how people perceived him. I enjoyed seeing how their romance not only grew, but also changed their outlook on their lives together.
This book was truly a delight to read. And for those who enjoyed watching the movie Wicked, the green-skinned outcast FMC in this book will steal your heart and keep you cheering her on. I read this book in 24 hours. I've already pre-ordered the paperbook and can't wait to finish the series!
I was so excited when I received the ARC for this book, as the first book was such a fun read and I couldn't wait to see where this world would take us next.
This was such a sweet, spicy, magical romance. I'm a sucker for the fake dating trope, and it was executed so well here. Enid and Nevan were complete opposites, yet they complemented each other perfectly. She was grumpy, sassy, and a total outcast, while he was sunshine personified - overworked and an absolute people pleaser. Together, they come up with a fake dating scheme in the hope of improving her image and getting his mother off his back.
These two had incredible chemistry, and the banter was top-notch. Watching them slowly give in to their feelings was both heartwarming and satisfying, leading to some wonderfully hot and intense moments.
I have to say, I absolutely loved Enid as our main FMC. She was such a complex and misunderstood character. My heart broke reading about her childhood and everything she had been through. I hated seeing Cillian threaten to exile her. The bog had been her home for so many years, and suddenly a whole town was dumped on her doorstep. She was there first! Still, the threat of exile ended up being one of the best things to happen to her, as it forced her out of isolation and encouraged her to truly start living.
The friendships she forms throughout the story were incredibly special. The women of Fairwitch Isle - particularly Niamh and Margaret - as well as the cheeky little Fiona, all rally around Enid, gradually breaking down her walls and showing her that there is kindness in the world.
Nevan was also a fantastic MMC. He was sweet, patient, and compassionate, showing so much understanding toward Enid throughout the story. Their romance developed beautifully. Both characters carried their own flaws and past traumas, but they consistently supported one another and helped each other grow.
Beyond the main couple, there were so many side characters I adored. Who knew I could become so attached to a sentient vine? The world-building continues to expand, and while I would have liked to see the storyline involving the Brotherhood developed a little further, there was just enough to keep me invested and eager for what comes next.
If you enjoy cosy yet spicy romantasy, lovable sentient sidekicks, and a dash of fake dating, this is definitely a book worth picking up. I'm already excited to see what's in store for Book 3!
Thank you to the author for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
📝 ARC Review: Although this could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the novella, This Is Not Love At First Sight and book 1, This Damsel Is Not In Distress, to full understand the characters and the town’s story.
The FMC in this story gave me serious Elphaba vibes (from the show Wicked) and I loved seeing the slow progress made as she learned to navigate life with others, make friends and fall in love. It wasn’t easy for her and she was stubborn/resistant for a very long time. I also loved how she stood up for Nevan. - Nevan was so sweet and tried to be so understanding. They brought out the best in each other. Also, the spice got pretty spicy in the second half of the book!
Another delightfully cozy and fun romance!
Quote’s 👇
“Why don’t you just stop doing what everyone is expecting of you?”
“… You know who you are. That’s not something a lot of people can say, Enid. Everyone’s always pretending, making themselves into something they’re not. You don’t do that. You are who you are and if anyone doesn’t like it, too bad for them.”
“… I was born an outcast. They're outcasts too. Like me. But just because they're different doesn't mean they're not worthy of existing"
“…. I saw the way she just stood up for you, and that is everything you deserve in a partner. Someone who understands what you need and will speak up for you when you don't speak up for yourself.”
"Everyone is always demanding more of me, of my time, of my attention. But no one has ever noticed how much I'm drowning in life. Until you."

Thank you to the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
What a cute, cozy wicked romance 💚! If you love fun side characters, sentient plants and golden retriever MMCs with sl*tty little glasses this is a gorgeous read. Also is Dual POV 🤌.
Enid is the closed off, black cat FMC with a heart of gold who loves her plant creations and lives in a wonderful bog just teeming with uniqueness. Her sentient pyton Vine, appropriately named Vine, is the loveable sidekick who is her partner is crime and is very protective. That is until her world is completely knocked off its axis by a castle crashing down on her bog.
This castle and its town have magically appeared and wormed its way into her bog. The townspeople are not fans, obviously only because she has an affinity for the bog and is not a fan of rude people and also she is green. Surprise! We then learn that Nevan, the super cute and nerdy MMC, is being forced to find a partner. Queue overbearing mother (she is redeemable I promise). Nevan and Enid take to a fake relationship to improve her image and get aforementioned overbearing mother off his back. But is it truly fake?!?
This was my first introduction into Tee Harlow and I really needed a super cute and cozy romance and this checked all the boxes. Her writing style and finesse in this story is pure perfection. I read this in a day and now have to read her other works 😊.

Quotes: 📜 “You have value. Your value doesn’t lie in what you do or what you create. It’s there because you exist.” 📜 ”I wanted to crush her to me and take all that sadness away. I’d carry it for her so she never had to shoulder the burden of it again.” 📜 ”Other than gardening, swimming is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted to be able to do it with you.” 📜 ”So I was riding this lily pad in the middle of the bog in complete darkness, and if I got lost, no one would find me.” 📜 ”I raised a brow. “Ride what, exactly?” He kissed my neck. “Your lily pad, you pervert.”
Thank you so much to Tee and her team for allowing me to be an ARC reader again! I have not stopped thinking about This Damsel!
What Tee does well every time? An underestimated and feisty FMC, super cosy vibes, and ADORABLE sentient sidekicks. I just want to live in this town so bad. And I’d definitely be joining the girls’ romance book club. I’d even bring tshirts and they’d have Morton and Vine on the front.
Enid is a demi-witch who was abandoned by her own coven. Her ‘crimes’? Being a bit too unique, creating plants a bit too spicy, and being a bit too green (definitely Elphie vibes but with less singing and more swimming). However, when an entire sentient castle and town lands in her bog, she’s suddenly surrounded by people. And they just do not get her or her vibes or her plants, and she’s kind of labelled a wicked witch (rude!). And so, when the king gives her eight weeks to be more likeable or face exile again, she accepts a desperate offer from the castle healer. Suddenly, she’s fake-dating this guy and he’s going to make people like her. Sounds like a foolproof plan, right?
I have been eagerly awaiting this book since I finished This Damsel. While this book is technically the next book in the series, I’m pretty sure it could be read as a standalone (but it was super cute to see the characters from book 1 again!).
While I didn’t love this couple quite as much as the first book (hard to beat), I still loved them! I loved the dark sense of humour from Enid, and I loved that Nevan was the sunshine. Such a good reverse. And Vine, what a cutie… I also loved the cheeky message about how we should speak to people (and plants) with kindness. I’m still enjoying the slow creeping worldbuilding with the bad guys in the background and I’m keen to see how this culminates in the next book.
If you want super cosy vibes, grumpy/sunshine romance, and sentient sidekicks, this is the series (or standalone) for you, my friends! Okay, I’m ready for the next book now. 😂
Okay, first I started reading TWINW via the e-ARC and was swept right into the story of Enid and Nevan, which is set two years after the castle lands in her bog. Nevan's arm is twisted into faking dating to get his mother off his back and well, the women of the kingdom as well because he's completely obsessed with his work and his hobby of apothecary. So, what's a nerd to do? Of course, ask the wicked witch, Enid to fake date him! She's of course been threatened by his brother Cillian, the Prince (who's a complete a$$ in this book), of proving she can be nice to the townsfolk or she gets the boot; despite the bog being hers to begin with. So what's a witch do? She agrees.
TWINW is filled with humor & pranks, sweet moments, the adorable (non-verbal speaking) VINE (I think I like Vine better than Morton!!!), yearning, emotional devastation, and a slow burn romance.
Enid has secrets with a emotionally traumatic past. Nevan is a work-a-holic who is a people pleaser; afraid to speak his mind.
As a special surprise, we received the ALC!!! It's duet style, so that's awesome! So for chapter 7-the end, I switched to the ALC and was OBSESSED!!! I binged the rest of the book until 6am the next morning. SaraB does an amazing job with Enid's voice and I love the accent she uses for her. She totally encapsulates Enid's personality, her vulnerability, and her fierceness. I was completely obsessed and kept telling myself, just one more chapter, until there wasn't one more chapter.
The male narrator, DB West did a great job with Nevan's quiet, bookish/nerdy, compassionate, sweet personality and how he treats Enid throughout the book. He brought the qualities of a healer to life.
Definitely add This Witch Is Not Wicked to your TBR. I think I liked this one even more than the first book in this interconnect series; and I really liked the first one.
This is a very cute magical romance! You really need to read the equally-adorable and unique Brothers of Fairwitch Isle Book 1 (Naihm and Wolf story) to fully enjoy the Witch is Not Wicked. As an academic and botanist, I LOVED the plant and lab settings in this story and the characters chemistry in this setting, honestly I wanted more plant names, poisons, and spicy swamp sex, but hey, that's just me!
This book provided more details on the Fairwitch community (but not too much, the story plot and spice was very well-balanced and not boring), which is nice and I hope will play a strong part in the set up for the third book with the King, the trials and his bride (and please, please can book 4 will be about Lor and his rationale for going to the brotherhood, please let that be a hot spicy villian storyline! tidbits are dropped in book 2 that he does still care about his family, but SOMETHING is keeping him away from them. This is *almost* too distracting to the other brothers stories.).
In general this is a sweet, summer read. Great writing and character development and more additions and tid bits of the worldbuilding indicated that the author has a thorough plan for how the whole series will be completed.
This is a good, sweet, summer pallet cleanser from any dark romance, gothic romantacies or pitch black MMCs you might be reading (or not! Sweet is satisfying!) but I had a fun time and will probably read the next in Tee Harlowe's Fairwitch series, if not to see how the characters all interact and end up.
I didn't give it 5 stars because while it did have multiple open door spicey scence it was rather tame , but I was invested in the characters and the storyline and magic is unique from other fantasy stories out there.
I think I’m forever going to be obsessed with these books and this world. This series also just brings such a fun and joyful vibe, I seriously cannot get enough.
I absolutely adore Enid. I think her character has so many layers to her, and she just makes you constantly want to root for because she is so misunderstood. I utterly loved watching her grow and break down her walls and open up to other people. Now, Nevan is the absolute sweetest. I mean, he constantly cared for Enid and defended her and her bog, ahh, I just love him. You could 100% tell there was affection between them at the start, I mean the chemistry was just totally there, and I loved how he continually reassured Enid with her worries and fears, stop, they are so cute. The two were so perfect together, and their character’s personalities definitely complemented each other’s entirely. And of course, I am totally obsessed with Vine, I mean how can you not be, Vine is literally the perfect companion. And then I also really loved Fiona’s character. I loved how she never feared Enid and then became friends with all the creatures in Enid’s bog, I really liked their friendship.
I had so much fun as well revisiting pervious characters, Wolfe and Niamh, obsessed with their banter, Cillian, poor guy was going through it this book, and then of course Margaret and Morton. I also really enjoyed reading the kind of subplot that is happening, with the brotherhood and Lor, and seeing how it progresses through these books, I just feel like it adds such an interesting layer that makes you want to continually come back to see how it turns out. (And of course, you already want to come back for all the brother’s love stories). I just think this plot is just so intriguing and fun alongside the character’s stories.
Thank you to Tee Harlowe for this amazing amazing eARC 💗
Enid leads a solitary existence in her bog full of magical plants that she created. When an entire town, including a sentient castle and all the townsfolk literally drop onto the bog, Enid is forced to contend with outsiders. She doesn't believe anyone will ever trust, befriend, or understand her. After all, her magic is wicked, so she must be as well, right? The inhabitants of the town try to avoid Enid at all costs, especially her dangerous plants, and the king wants her exiled.
Nevan is the king's brother and a talented healer. He spends all his time creating medicines and treatments and helping his patients. Much to his mother's dismay, Nevan has no time for romance. After one of his eligible patients discloses a scheme to marry him off, Nevan comes up with a plan of his own thay involves fake dating Enid. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement: Nevan's mother will back off, and Enid will not be exiled.
Reluctantly, Enid agrees to pretend to be Nevan's girlfriend. The pair get to know each other, and both Enid and Nevan realize there is more to them (and their neighbors) than they could have imagined. Nevan gains courage, Enid lets others in, and love begins to bloom. Soon, danger comes to the town, and Nevan and Enid need to work together to save everyone. Can the townspeople learn to trust Enid? Can Enid learn to trust in herself?
I fell in love with Enid and Nevan's tale immediately! The detailed settings, unique magic, push and pull between characters, and slow burn romance kept me hooked and intrigued. There were tender moments that tugged on my heart, comical scenes that had me giggling, and swoony, steamy encounters that induced feet kicking. I loved the way Enid came into her own and encouraged Nevan to pursue his passion. Nevan was so good for Enid as well. He truly helped her to recognize her worth and to embrace her nature. This Witch Is Not Wicked is an incredibly written cozy fantasy novel, and I am stoked to read more by Tee Harlow!
I absolutely devoured this book. It has everything you want in a fake relationship trope, and I loved every minute of it! (A golden retriever / black cat vibes perfection.) I highly recommend you read, This Damsel is Not in Distress, to meet the characters that make an appearance in this second book of the Brothers of Fairwitch Isle series!
Enid is the town outcast. Thought the Castle landed in her part of her world, she is quickly met with prickly new neighbors, ones which she cannot help herself but find glee in their misfortunes when faced with her deadly plants. When Prince Cillian threatens to expel her from the town if she doesn't change her ways, she is forced to confirm to the town's standards and finds an ally in the last person she expected.
Nevan is the town healer, shy and awkward, he tends to hide away in his tower to work on his potions. But when his announces his eligibility for marriage, he is faced with the town's damsels who are interested in the possibility of being his wife. Desperate to disappoint his mother, he enlists the help of Enid to enter into a fake relationship and in return he will help her fit into the town, saving her from being expelled. Nevan soon finds that there is more to the eccentric witch that meets the eye and he can't separate fake from real feelings that find room in his heart.
I fell in love with Nevan (glasses and dimples?! yes please), his shy, awkward moments are endearing, and the spiky Enid were an absolute delight to read. To be seen and accepted for you is a gift, one that Tee delivers perfectly weaving in emotions and heart into her characters. (I teared up once or twice.)
I absolutely recommend this book! It made me laugh & swoon and that to me will have my heart. Thank you for the ARC!
“This is a town of misfits. We live in a world where there are all kinds of magical creatures and objects and plants. There’s a place for everyone here.”
Review:
First and foremost, thank you so much to the author for a copy of this book. Being apart of the ARC team was an amazing experience.
Returning to Fairwitch Isle felt like coming home. This series is so incredibly comforting, and stepping back into this cozy fantasy world felt like receiving a warm hug. I’ve loved this series from the beginning, and being back among the godwitches, magic, and charm of Fairwitch Isle made me so happy.
Nevan and Enid were wonderful characters, and I genuinely enjoyed following their journey. While their romance didn’t resonate with me quite as strongly as Niamh and Wolfe’s did in the first book, I still found myself rooting for them every step of the way. Their chemistry, growth, and connection made for an enjoyable romance that fit beautifully within the world Tee Harlowe has created.
My only real issue with the book came toward the end. The conflicts felt a little jumbled, and the pacing became somewhat chaotic, giving me a bit of whiplash as several things unfolded at once. Even so, the story ultimately wrapped up in a satisfying way and did an excellent job setting the stage for book three. Which I’m very stoked for.
Overall, This Witch Is Not Wicked delivered exactly what I wanted: cozy magic, lovable characters, and another chance to visit a world I adore. And after that ending, I am incredibly excited to see where this series goes next.
4.5 stars rounded up Boy I love the way Tee Harlow writes men who like their person. Enid is just trying to live her life in her bog with her plants when a castle comes crashing down around her. And BOOM, we're back in Fairwitch Isle baby! Prickly Enid has always had thicks walls up around others and that does not put her in good standing with the people of Fairwitch. And Enid can't help but feed into the grumpy bog witch label they've given her, letting her plants go after anyone that comes into her bog. And Nevan just needs someone to get his mom off his back about settling down. Oh, Nevan and his slutty little spectacles. I thought the banter between Enid and Nevan was cute and it was sweet to watch Enid's walls come down. Each of them was the person the other had needed for so long, Enid just needed to see that someone needed her and Nevan needed someone to stand up for him. There were a few times I wanted to shake Enid because she was frustrating me, some of her decisions just seemed to be a "cut off your nose to spite your face" kind of thing. And it came off as immature sometimes. But boy there were some big cracks in that aloof and gruff exterior she puts on and it was fun to watch it crumble. And I think I was expecting Nevan to be more shy and nerdy and I got more of a nery Fiyero, WHICH I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT. I loved getting more world building about Fairwitch and the great world at large too. I also just love Tee Harlow's writing style because it's so easy to just sit down and lock in. Thank you very much to Tee Harlow for the chance to read this book. All my opinions are my own!
I loved the first book in this series (This Damsel is Not in Distress) and keep recommending it to everyone. But I have to admit, I loved this second installment even more!
Nevan is EXACTLY the kind of man I look for as a love interest - nerdy, intelligent, awkward, sweet to a fault. He even wears glasses (my personal weakness, what can I say?). I found his arc so relatable and empathetic - the "good son/brother" who is always doing way too much for everyone else and never enough for himself. He is such a sweet soul. 💜 (If Enid ever decides she doesn't want him, I'll gladly take him instead 😂)
Enid is a grumpy ancient witch with abandonment issues and no real experience with positive, healthy relationships or friendships. Seeing her blossom through her interactions with Nevan was so hearthwarming, and her background trauma is so heartbreaking. 💔 She's a strong person and so much more competent than she thinks she is.
I've always loved fake dating romances, and this one certainly delivers! I was skeptical before starting that there would be a good reason in this particular setting for a fake dating plot, but it works so well. And the "fake" dating chemistry started sizzling almost immediately. I think this one was even spicier than book one 😉
But let's talk about the sentient bog and all of Enid's amazing creepy plants! We all know plants are my real bias 😂 so it's no surprise this element and Enid's magic was a real highlight for me. And Vine! Look, I loved Morton the bookwyrm in book 1, but Vine stole my heart and became my new favorite. It's so protective of Enid, but also way smarter and more adorable than a potentially dangerous sentient vine should be. I'm officially starting a Vine fan club and you're all invited! 🌿
It was also fun to see a lot of the people and places from book 1 - the magic castle (with an attitude), Morton, Marg, the gargoyles, etc. I especially loved seeing Niamh again in this book; she is so sweet and absolutely the friend Enid needs (she's sure to be the best sister in law ever 💜). The new side characters were fun, too. In addition to Vine, my other favorite was Fiona, the little girl who idolizes Enid. Adorable and precocious and full of trouble - I hope we see more of her in future books!
Overall, I loved everything about this book and absolutely inhaled it. If you like cozy fantasy romance with spice, fake dating, magic settings, sentient plants, opposites attract, colorful side characters, nerdy but kind MMCs, ancient misunderstood witches, or really just a sweet story of two people finding and healing each other, be sure to check this one out.
Thanks to the author for providng an early ARC copy of this book for me to review! Loved it, Tee! 💜
I am so happy to have been on the ARC team because I absolutely adored this book.
Apparently, I'm a sucker for fake dating because Enid and Nevan had me hooked from the start. The feelings may have shown up quickly for two people determined not to want a relationship, but the romance developed in such a sweet way. Their banter was fantastic, and I loved how they consistently encouraged and stood up for one another. Nevan's nerdy golden retriever energy was impossible not to love, and what really won me over was how he saw Enid for who she truly was rather than the reputation everyone else had created for her.
Enid's story also had more emotional depth than I expected. Her "wicked witch" persona isn't just a title, it's a shield she's built after years of rejection and loneliness. Watching her slowly let people in was very rewarding, especially through the found family vibes of the romance book club, and her friendship with Fiona.
We also get a little more world-building, learning about the godwitches and being introduced to the Fair Folk. I would happily move into Enid's mossy cottage tomorrow if given the chance. The sentient bog was delightful, and Vine was such a fun companion.
The spice felt much more naturally woven into the story than it did in book one, and it fit the relationship perfectly.
If cozy romantasy is your thing, this book delivers. Between the fake dating, found family, sentient plants, and a romance that had me kicking my feet, this book was a warm, magical escape. I'm excited for the next book.
Grumpy witch and sentient plants? It's a YES from me.
This is the second book in the Fairwitch Isle series and I just love this world. Thanks you so much @teeharlowe for the gifted eARC.
This book is an exploration and dedication to Love, acceptance and finding your place.
"You have value. Your value doesn't lie in what you do or what you create. It's there because you exist"
Enid is such a powerhouse - My favourite micro trope usually is flipping off your mate but pushing him into a bog may have taken top spot! I felt such a connection to Enid as someone who's not always felt like she fit in.
Nevan - Handsome caring, filthy mind (and mouth) who also wears slutty little glasses - Tee you spoil us. It was so refreshing for an MMC to be more brains than brawn.
I love the character development in this both for both our FMC and MMC. Enid learns to trust and accept herself, Nevan Find his own gumption to pursue his dreams
I enjoyed the time gap between book 1 and book 2, allowing the back story and supporting characters to develop and move forward. The pacing of this book felt just right, allowing the slow burn to simmer up. The spice also felt well timed and integral to Enid and Nevan's relationship.
And lastly Vine just stole my heart completely ❤️
Tropes - Cosy fantasy - Sentient objects - Fake Dating
Highlights - Vine - Slutty little glasses - Swimming lessons
Overall 5/5
Cannot wait for book 3 after the little teaser at the end of this witch is not wicked!
I enjoyed this cozy romantasy so much! I devoured it so quickly and had such a fun time reading it. Poor Enid just wants to be left alone with her plants when a castle suddenly appears and disrupts her peaceful life. Unfortunately, she and the new townspeople don’t exactly start off on the right foot, and she’s soon threatened with exile. Nevan just wants to be left alone to pursue his alchemy and potion making, but his mother won’t stop trying to match him with one of the girls from town. To solve both of their problems, he comes up with the idea that he and Enid should fake date to improve her image and get his mother off his back.
I absolutely loved Enid and Nevan. They were both such great characters, and watching their friendship develop into something more was so sweet. The banter between them was top notch. Enid was a black cat FMC, and Nevan was the ultimate golden retriever MMC. Their dynamic worked perfectly, and I loved seeing their growth throughout the story. The side characters were also fantastic, with Fiona and Vine being two of my favorites.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from Tee Harlowe. This is book two in an interconnected standalone series, and I had no trouble jumping right in. I definitely want to go back and read Wolf and Niamh’s story in This Damsel is Not in Distress.
If you love cozy romantasy with Wicked vibes, fake dating, banter, spice, hidden identities, found family, and a sentient Vine and Bog, then add this book to your TBR!
Thank you, Tee Harlowe, for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
I think I liked This Witch is Not Wicked more than This Damsel is Not in Distress (and I adored Damsel)!
I can't get enough of Enid and Nevan. They're the romantasy version of Goth Girlfriend/Nerd Boyfriend. 💚
2 years after the end of Damsel, Fairwitch has been relocated to Enid's bog and the people of Fairwitch are frankly pretty inconsiderate of Enid and her plants. They can't seem to understand why a reclusive witch wouldn't be thrilled that an entire town dropped into her secluded refuge. After one too many people has complained about Enid and her plants, Prince Cillian threatens to exile her.
Nevan has been fending off unwanted advances from all the unmarried citizens of Fairwitch after his mother says something about him being ready to settle down (he's not). He sees the perfect opportunity to improve both his and Enid's situation: they can fake date. His likability will improve Enid's standing in Fairwitch and she will keep his mom (and all the Fairwitch singles) off his back.
I absolutely adore how they both can see the best in each other. Nevan doesn't see Enid as a freak or evil. He sees her strength and resilience and her love for her plants. Enid sees the brilliant alchemic mind underneath the mask of a quiet healer. She sees a man who stretches himself too thin to help everyone around him. They balance and complement each other and help soothe each other's past traumas.
Thank you so much Tee Harlowe for the opportunity to advance read. 💚
