For sixteen years, Bex has hunted the demons who destroyed her family. On the verge of a breakthrough, she's betrayed and hurled through a mirror portal into the Shard. A brutal hidden world of political intrigue and deadly arena Games where the Condemned fight for their freedom and the powerful feed on their magic.
Games that demand cunning, sacrifice, and a power the Shard itself is hungry to claim. Games where failure costs your very soul.
Forced onto the team of the most feared Warden in the Shard, Bex finds herself bound to a battle-scarred warrior who has survived this world longer than anyone can explain. Every instinct tells her to keep her distance, but every moment with him ignites something she can’t deny.
To survive, Bex must outwit her enemies, master a power she's spent her whole life running from, and trust a found family forged in blood. But the closer she gets to Slate, the more dangerous the Shadow Games become.
Because in the Shard, enemies become allies, allies become traitors, and the deadliest game of all has nothing to do with the arena.
Welcome to the Shadow Games. A Mirror of Shadows is a New Adult romantasy set in the world of the Shadow Demons Saga, a perfect entry point for new readers and a thrilling return for fans of the series.
OMG. This had everything you could possibly want in a book. Magic, heroes and villains, secrets and drama. Witches and demons. Love and loss.
I did not like this book. This was something so much more than like that there’s not even a word for it. This was lifelong, soulmate, can’t be apart, soul sucking, forever love. This book was absolutely incredible. I LOVE Sarra’s books. I own almost every one of them in paperback and ebook. This will be no exception.
I can tell this series is going to be life altering for all that read it. Sarra, way to go again! You freaking rock!
Congrats to Cannon on her 31st novel. I am a huge fan and it is always exciting when a new book is released.
This book is about Bex, a young witch who was forced to work for the Order as a thief. She finally escapes only to land herself into more trouble that could lead to her death. While on the run from the Order a mysterious benefactor sends her into the Amethyst Shard. There she is forced to participate in the deadly Shadow Games. Within the Shard Bex makes unlikely bonds and discovers secrets about herself. But her life isn’t just threatened by the games. There are people in the Shard who want her dead.
This book has it all. Intrigue, mystery, secrets, betrayal and a whole lot more.
A Mirror of Shadows is currently my favorite Cannon book. The world she has built is so rich and these characters jump off the page at you. It keeps you at the edge of your seat with high stake situations. Most of all it allows you to know and care for the characters. You root for the heroes and despise the villains, and at the end it makes you want more.
This was an exciting, action-packed adventure in a high stakes game. Bex, Calli, Elara, Orion, Brim, and Slate - a unique team of dangerous fighters in a fight to the death… their personalities and backgrounds might have doomed them in these games, but it was awesome watching them become a team and working together. I love that this is a team competition (not solo), a different kind of found family. The characters grow and have a ways to go, so I can’t wait for the next installment. Also, the slow romantic burn is fun to watch unfold.
