My daughter kept wondering where Bob and Joss's parents were in this book. If you can get past that, though, this book had my daughters and I laughing throughout..."scuttlebutt!", "Technically, we're the ones getting closer.", the monster they ran from (have to see the illustration to understand the humor in this one), what the shelter needed more of, "I don't speak wave." and how Joss "helps" Bob not miss his mom so much. Joss is very laid back and Bob is more serious, which makes for some entertaining circumstances. The ending wrapped back around to the beginning page, so who knows what Bob and Joss will end up doing next.

This is a silly one that kids older than five will enjoy reading with their parents.I think by that age they'll get the fun humor. As a retired teacher I'm always looking for the connections teachers can make with a book, and though I didn't come up with many, I do think you could discuss getting lost by yourself compared to with a friend, and then perhaps write about a scary experience they've had or a fun adventure with a friend.

My kids LOVE Bob and Joss. What a super funny read! From shouts of SCUTTLEBUTT to mystery fruit kebabs, this book twists and turns. Good thing we have coordinates at the top to remind us of our location. It's a friendship story wrapped in adventure, with lots of fun details to make this a family book to read over and over again.

This book tells a fun story with humor kids will love. What I love about it, though, is that there are coordinates on each page which easily this book in with research skills. I'll be looking into how to add this as a maker center next year. Which resort do Bob and Joss wind up at? Map out the coordiantes!

A hilarious book perfect for reading aloud as well as for kids just getting the hang of reading! My 7-year-old son loved the clever circular structure of the book. He had a million questions about the word "scuttlebutt" (mostly because he just liked saying "scuttlebutt"), which led to looking it up and us both learning something entertaining!

Two characters who get lost and have different ideas on how to get back is fun and are interesting characters to read about. Shows the pessimistic and optimist viewpoints of being lost. This picture book is fun with boy characters, fun words, and nautical location coordinates and would appeal to picture book audience of boys and girls.

Bob is bored so Joss suggests they go for a boat ride. And they get lost, just as Bob thought they would. Their luck worsens when they are caught in a storm and then washed up on a deserted island. And while Bob stresses out about island monsters, building a shelter and building a fire, Joss is annoyingly calm. What is Bob missing?

A silly adventure on the sea with two friends. One is optimistic and relaxed, finding light in their misfortune, and the other is pessimistic, concerned and up tight. They make the perfect pair. Fun book. cute illustrations.

If I knew how to read navigation I might have laughed even harder! Funny little book. Bob and Joss are a funky team. Joss is an airhead, dreamer, and lazy, while Bob is a thinker, doer and diligent. Yet who is the one who gets them out of this LOST jam?

What happens when two friends get bored? They decide to take a boat trip. Bob warns that they will get lost. Joss is convinced they won't. But, of course, they do. They are also shipwrecked on what appears to be a deserted island. But, is it?

The kids and I had fun looking at the coordinates at the top of the page. The characters (and the craziness they get themselves into) were funny too.

Loved the ending. Kids voted to give it 5 stars.

I think it's weird at the end that Joss finally finds a person to keep them safe. The finally find a whole beach full of kids, on the island that gets them lost.

This is such a fun and cute story with funny conversations between Bob and Joss ... who get lost. Funny ending and fun illustrations with clues as to how lost they really are.

My son has pretty much requested this book every night since we got it, sometimes multiple times in one night. The odd-couple characters of Bob and Joss are wonderfully matched, and the text is hilarious to read aloud! I hope there are many more Bob and Joss books!

This is such a hysterical picture book! The laid back personality of Joss paired with the Type A Bob allows for a lot of comedy. Plus, it's so fun to have coordinates at the top of each page during the duo's journey. This is a must read for the people in your life that love a good laugh!
