James Holloway is a 92-year-old man who is facing the end of his life. His best friend from childhood was Calvin Rook. Calvin was convicted as a serial killer of many women who dies in prison. The bodies were never found. Many people had questioned James about what he knew of Calvin and the murders, but he never told if he knew any of the details. Finally at this stage of life, he agreed to tell a young reporter what he knew. She was told that she would find out everything in one afternoon. This is a short novella, but so many details are packed into it. I’m anxious to see what the next book in the series will be as this one was so good.

Wow, what a story. A young writer is interviewing an old man who lived with another man in his younger days. The other man had been arrested for killing women but bodies were never found. This story takes place in one day with the man telling the writer that he knows where the bodies are. Such a gripping tale and I look forward to the next by Cheryl Bradshaw.

A short, intense, suspense filled read! This is a little different than anything this author has written and I loved it. Complex characters who draw you in make this story. I had figured out where things were headed but the ending still managed to drop my jaw.

A series starter by Cheryl Bradshaw. A quick read with a unique plot line and the unexpected twists Ms.Bradshaw is known for. A story being told to a writer with the ties being slowly revealed. I look forward to more in this series.

wow what a read
thought all along the person he told the story to was connected. But, the end was a right turn about. Great book Great story well worth reading. I tells about the killing of 5 women and the reason behind it. Of course you have to read to understand the end.

interesting

this was an interesting book. Quite different from books that I've read in the past. I think it's worth reading and so I would highly recommend it to those that might enjoy trying to discover who was the culprit.

This wasn’t really a full book. It’s very short. It reminds me of sitting around a campfire and telling ghost stories. It’s a very good story but as short as an episode on TV

Great quick little mystery. Though I guess mystery isn't the right word for it. James is telling the story of his longtime childhood friend, who was arrested for multiple murders decades ago. He hasn't shared his side of the story until now. While many people have tried to get him to speak, it wasn't until he came across a certain young woman that he feels the time is right. There's intrigue and suspense. Details of the crimes coming to light. A few twists along the way. There is no sexual content, and the 'horror' aspect of it is on the lighter side. It's more ominous than anything. Safe for teens and up. It's a one sitting read. 1-2 hours tops. It's well written and has you leaning forward waiting to see what James has to say. Since it's a short read, character development is limited, but the story takes place over the course of one afternoon, (and only the two main characters,) so there's not much development needed.
