Woven For Purpose by Lily Kanter is a deeply engaging and inspiring read. I loved the honest portrayal of the Serena & Lily journey—the highs, the setbacks, and everything in between—as well as Lily’s broader evolution both professionally and personally.

There’s a moment early on where the book brings up how every decision leaves a trace on what comes next. It didn’t feel like a big statement, but it made me sit with my own timeline for a second and look at it without immediately questioning if I took the wrong turn somewhere. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking I should be somewhere else by now. Reading this, I stopped measuring things that way. Instead of seeing gaps or delays, I could trace how one decision carried into another. Even the decisions I’ve doubted seem to carry something forward. The way Lily talks about childhood also caught me off guard. She doesn’t stay on what went wrong. She makes space for what went well, and how much of that still shows up later. By the end, nothing in my life had changed, but the way I was looking at it had, and that was enough.

I didn’t expect to connect with this book the way I did. Lily is honestly admirable. I really felt her strength, the way she stays true to herself while building something big. It made me think she is a strong example for other women. She just feels so authentic and confident in who she is. I liked how she talks about business, but also life, family, decisions… not just success. Some parts about investors and pressure were very eye-opening. It left me thinking that maybe you don’t have to lose yourself to grow.

In short, it's a highly recommended work, easy to read and full of good ideas and advice at the same time.

Something that seems obvious

This book has made me reflect on something that seems obvious at first sight, but many times we do not realize it and we make the mistake of going through life being too rigid, trying to separate what we do from what we are, as if they were competing against each other. This is almost impossible, both environments are part of our being, and as such there will always be things that, in one way or another, get mixed with each other. There is not always just one way of doing things. In the end, it is about having a bit more internal coherence and not trying to meet an external model, that also helps us know ourselves better.

Starting a new project, a business, or a new job comes with some challenges, and how to balance your life within that situation is quite tricky. This book has been a recommendation for me after finishing my masters, not knowing what I wanted to do. It brings a new possibility of seeing my path. I love how the author shares her knowledge through stories, each chapter is short and the division also brings a great learning outcome. What I liked the most of the book is the bullet point sections in the chapters, it anchors to the learning objective and the questions that are proposed left me thinking and reflecting on my own reality.

This is a very good business book and different from others because it doesn't talk about success only, but in fact, it talks about how to build something that really matters.
It is honest and grounded. The author shares the truth which are the moments of doubts and tough decisions too. I think this reading is relatable, inspiring and also thoughtful and this is why I recommend it!

I really enjoy reading about entrepreneurship and I liked this book because I found it inspiring and honest. I liked the emphasis on leading with purpose and integrity. The discussion about balancing business growth with staying true to a company's mission resonated with me.
When I finished this book, I was motivated and engaged. I think there's a lot of wisdom here worth reflecting on.
