The story that you are about to read is a raw, honest depiction of a period of my career and life. Some parts may be difficult or uncomfortable for some readers. I have made mistakes, and I know I will make more. The people you will read about in this story are flawed, real, and only human, too. Many of them have grown from the mentioned experiences, and this story is not told to hurt, blame, or offend anyone. I share this story with the belief that it can help others out there. I ask that you read with an open mind. I hope that the pages that follow will find their way into your heart. Conversations have been recalled to the best of my memory, and as an extension of this, quotes may not be verbatim.
Many of the instances I’ve encountered in my life are the everyday experiences of people in all levels of our society. I write this to speak to the parts of us that feel like they have no voice. The parts that long to run free and enjoy the game of life without snuffing out the lights of others. I write with hope to bring us into a kinder world, where we all can thrive, with a ball at our feet, or in any arena of life we play.
