John and Sarah Twait are finally back to the Caribbean to relax and recuperate after their harrowing return to Hillsville, Nebraska where they came to the aid of their good friend Chief Mike Yeager, now the Twaits are ready to retire on the beach and bake in the sun.
John’s eyes took their fill of Sarah's beautiful figure as she sun baked on the beach. There was nothing more than a couple little strings and a few triangles of material covering her golden skin. He knew she would be warm and soft if he were to touch her, but since she looked so peaceful with her eyes closed, he had not. He wanted to enjoy this moment, just watching the rise and fall of her chest, and the way that her blonde hair shimmered in the sunlight. The scent of coconut oil drifted over him, and John closed his eyes to inhale and finally enjoy his retirement.

So, I'm coming in a bit late in the series, but it's alright. It's easy to pick up here. It starts interestingly enough. John and Sarah having moments that married couples have. It gets a little strange and they end up on a cruise. Of course, this doesn't get to jut be a vacation. A mystery drops into John's lap, one in the form of murder. Gets much larger going into a scheme and I don't like to do spoilers, but it's worth the read. The writing is good, just a bit different for me as I'm not used to first person present tense writing. Once you get used to it, it's a quick and interesting story, and definitely not the end of the series
"Killer Scent" the third novel in the John Twait Mystery series was a cozy, romance filled mystery novel that had me eagerly reading from start to finish. The thing I like about Tony Rehor's detective series is that it's fun, easy to read, filled with equal parts romance and mystery... the novels are a great choice for a relaxing day in the sun or (in my case) the go-to- choice for a dreary winter day when all I want is to be warm, cozy and entertained. John and Sarah Twait are two lively characters that seem to get better with each new story, drawing readers into their adventurous life as one mystery after another sends them off investigating everything from serial killers to smalltown intrigue. The writing is fast-paced, lush, romantic, intriguing, engaging and exciting. The author knows how to carefully balance fun with mystery to create a story that satisfies your craving for a good detective novel while having you laughing and cooing at the romance at the same time. Overall, this was a cozy little detective novel that made for another great addition to the John Twait Mysterys series.
A fast paced mystery that included descriptive erotic scenes paired with a thrilling adventurous mystery! I started with this book in the series, but fully intend to buy the previous two books to read more on the John Twait mysteries. Fun and erotic!
