Tony Fleecs is the writer and artist of In My Lifetime, an autobiographical comic book. First published in 2006, ‘Lifetime was an immediate critical success, featured twice in Wizard Magazine, in the Comic Buyer’s Guide and on the Ain’t-It-Cool-News.

Fleecs has since been a contributor to anthologies including; Postcards: True Stories that Never Happened (nominated for the 2008 Eisner and Harvey awards for best anthology), Boom Studios’ Pulp Tales and C.B. Cebulski’s Wonderlost. He and writer, Josh Fialkov, provided the Li’l FireBreather backup stories for Phil Hester’s 2nd FireBreather series at Image Comics. Last year saw his first work for hire writing work when he scripted the comic book adaptation of the classic John Holmes film, Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here, widely regarded as the first comic book based on a porno to not be completely awful.

This year, Tony will co-write and illustrate the graphic novel Jeff Steinberg: Champion of Earth (again with Fialkov) for Oni Press.

His company Fleecs Design (who’s talent roster includes only himself) has a client list that features Disney, 20th Century Fox, Bongo Comics, Marvel/Rittenhouse, The Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinatti Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, The Weinstein Company, Monster Garage, Taco John’s, major hospitals, insurance providers and banks.

His comics have been published by Random House (Villard), Image Comics, Silent Devil Productions, Boom!, IDW and Terminal Press.

Its either rose or his wife trying to hunt slade down or maybe some mysterious figure who knows, this one is slightly better than the first and the action scenes were really drawn well. Generally the art carries this book because there’s not much in here other than old man searches for revenge. Dc needs to ace deathstroke and give the mantle to a newbie i think Slade Wilson did his deeds and his time has come now.

This story continues to remain a top notch blend of thrilling and captivating. That was fantastic and every issue leaves me desperately grabbing for more. We pickup from the last issue with Slade crawling out of the wreckage of the building that was just dropped on him after Wintergreen died in front of him and all of his assets were ripped away from him in an instant. But we don’t immediately see Slade burn the world down, instead we go back to show why he would burn the world down. We go back to find Slade in the hospital after his eye was blown out by a bullet going through the back of his skull when his wife shot him for Grant’s death. The only person continually standing by his side was Wintergreen, and even then he offered to help Slade do what they do best…retaliation. But in this case Slade barely gave any mind to the idea of it because he understands where Adeline is coming from, hell she trained him and people like them attract each other as they dip into those words and now Grant is dead because Slade brought death into their house and if it was truly reversed he wouldn’t have stopped at one eye.

But with Wintergreen dead and entire army coming down on Slade…what’s stopping him now? The guards be is fighting against seem just as confused as Slade relentlessly attacks them, suing them as human shields and blasting the mouth then while asking hired them. From their perspective he attacked them and they want to arrest him for the murder of Wintergreen. None of this makes any sense, but Slade is getting no answers here and as well as he is fighting he is still majorly injured. He grabs his gear and leaves a trail of explosions as he steals a car. He immediately makes contact with a nameless face on the other end of a screen, a backup emergency contact for his line of work. No clue who it could be and it doesn’t matter, although I’d find it hilarious if it was like the calculator or something. It doesn’t take long for Slade, in his condition, to crash the car and escape by foot to a train yard to get to his safe house while he lets his healing factor stitch him up. In the phone he updates the contact on Wintergreen’s death and how he requires information on the blind drop client. The voice freaks out, these go against the very rules Slade wrote and he can’t give that up…Slade doesn’t care, he knows he can get the info an all he needs is an address and Slade can do the rest. But as Slade finally arrives to his safe house, big enough to fit a helicopter right in the middle, the voice mentions that he is asking the wrong question. Slade is in a bad situation, he has tons of mercenaries coming after him as the job boards are lighting up and if he needs information he should be asking how much it will cost. All of Slade’s accounts were drained but he still has a literal safe and money shouldn’t be a problem…as long as he can get to it before passing out anyway. Slade does care pass out and the other voice hangs up of Slade to call them back when he has the money.

Slade ends up waking up to the voice of Wintergreen, but as he gets up and opens the safe he finds it empty…they really are going for everything. If he needs money then he will just have to earn it, he grabs a laptop and uses a secure credential key, he keeps in his eye patch, to setup a job. As he is searching for one the voice of Rose enters his head, telling him he can be more than a killer for hire. It honestly feels like Slade is falling right into a pre determined trap and expectation for exactly what he will do as regret crosses his face when he accepts the job to take out a 44 year old male 27 miles away. Who’s to say that all of this is in his control at all? Maybe the best option would be to step away, stop taking orders like a killer and really be Deathstroke to find another way out of this, to climb over the maze. But then there is a slam on the safe house door as a grenade is tossed inside. Slade once again finds the voice of wintergreen inside of his head waking him back up, it catches him off guard this time but he has to move quick as there is an entire army outside ready to take him down. But then the army hears the whirl of blades as Deathstroke flies out of his safe house in a fully armed attack helicopter as he rains hellfire down on the entire army. He is now actively fighting against the voice in his head as it tells him he can’t escape…as he shows that’s not what he is trying to do as he crashes the helicopter right into the middle of them, promising that he isn’t running but hunting them all into extinction. He leaps from the helicopter with his sword as he slices through the militia. He eventually finds someone alive as he tries to force them into telling him who sent them, the guy almost tells him before a few bullets are sent into him as none other than deathblow and Deadshot are here as well and they don’t want that random merc to ruin the surprise. I think Slade may be a bit late for that job, lol.

“Did Batman whip your ass again?” - Unknown

I was thinking of his wife, Adeline, even before this issue. Maybe she killed Wintergreen and stole Slade’s money? But I don’t know, she’s too obvious as a suspect. Also, she was a villain for Slade before in that random movie, Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, I saw a while back and forgot all about. They were pushing that he had strong morals, aka an honor system, there too. Wait, if Slade joined the military at 16, didn’t Adeline technically groom him? Interesting.

I guess that Slade is talking to The Calculator, but the person talking to him telepathically is his son, Jericho? I don't know why he wouldn't recognize his voice, though. Wait, nvm.

If Slade stopped killing the Goons so quickly, he could probably get answers quicker. Smh.

Is this new series trying to redeem Deathstroke's character? He is usually seen as an anti-hero to me, but discussions online keep saying his abuse of his children and being a pedophile overshadow that, which is fair. It's interesting to use a character, Rose Wilson, who Slade has, from my knowledge, emotionally and physically abused, as the voice saying he can be more than just a killer.

Deathblow? That’s a stupid name.

Nothing to lose but everything to gain!

No one is safe. One thing is for certain though and two things for sure: Deatshstroke is not going down without taking everyone else with him. The flashbacks to he and Wintergreen after losing his eye are very telling. They give us more history on why Deathstroke is who he is in the current space.Now that he's gotten away from the immediate threat after locating "the target", he realizes how having everything taken from him puts him in a vicarious position.

Now he's got to take jobs to try and secure money to get the info he needs but will he heal in time. It was surprising to see DeathBlow and Deadshot at the end of this issue. I can't wait to see what's next!

It's a good continuation, but I enjoyed the first half better than the second half. It turned a bit too full on action movie near the end for me personally. I also don't have enough background to know who the new characters are, and that probably (negatively) impacted the reveal for me. Just had me confused rather than excited.
