Quick & Furry: Love, Laughs, and a Bit of Rawr on the Go.
Werelioness Hilary Stewart is making her escape and nothing is gonna stop her. Except maybe a locked door. No matter, she’s resourceful, she’ll figure out something. When nothing comes to mind, she’s thrilled to find herself rescued. After being a Colletti captive for nearly her whole life, it’s amazing to find herself breathing air that isn’t tainted with violence and anger. Instead, it’s filled with the scrumptious scent of her heavily muscled, gorgeous, and possessive as hell werelion mate. Oscar freed her and now he’s gonna belong to her… As long as the Collettis don’t kill her first.
Another fabulous little read in this smutty little series!! I love all these sassy ladies and their alpha lion mates. Such delicious reads.
Hillary and Oscar are a great pairing and have fabulous chemistry. I am a big fan of couples with playful banter, this fits that perfectly!
The overall series is really engaging and I am enjoying the variety in the plots. While they are all a bit connected they have differences in their individual situations. I can not wait for the next book!!
I am officially addicted and wishing a smexy lion would come sweep me off my feet! Oh, did I mention this is a scorching hawt smexy read? Have the ice cream handy to help you cool down!!!
So, as usual I like Celia Kyle's were-lions and humor. These books/ series even though they are shorter than any other books, for me, are much better than the Ridgeville series. I guess the most intense was Marcus's story being the Alpha but all the others were fun and easy o read. I just can't stop thinking that a longer story combined with Celia Kyle's writing style and humor would be great.
These are just so good but too short. Another fun read in this series that has Oscar finding his mate as a prisoner of the dreaded Colletti/Davis crime family. Poor Hilary has a been a prisoner of the Colletti/Davis crime family for twenty years. Yep, since she was 5 years old, because she is an Omega lioness. Her human side is feisty and gets her in trouble all the time but her poor inner kitty is one big wussy and hides from confrontation. That is until she meets her mate, then boy, hear her roar and growl and bite when he gets hurt. Oscar is an enforcer for Marcus, North American Ruling Alpha. On an assignment to ferret out more of the Colletti/Davis holds, he smells his mate behind a locked door. He can’t believe he has found his mate and that she has been a prisoner for so long. He does not listen to Hilary when she warns him that they will attempt to take her back. When Hilary is snatched back right in front of him he calls in the big guns, Marcus. Once he has Hilary back where she belongs with him he is never letting her go. Loved all the snarling and growls of MINE going on with these two.
This is the final book in the Lions in the City series, and I wish it wasn't! These two characters were just as lovable as the rest. Ising information from books 3's heroine, Enforcers have started hunting down members of Colletti's group. In one building the Enforcers get more than they bargained for when one of them finds their mate. When she is recaptured, he will move heaven and earth to get her back. While this novella ties the story line up - there could be more stories should Kyle decide to extend the series. 2spice 18+ age recommend
Oscar on ,of assignment of checking what looked like abandoned homes found his mate locked behind a triple locked door. Hillary was ecstatic to be free but also worried about Toni whose held her captive for twenty years and wasn't going to let her go easily. Could she get Oscar to understand before it's to late?
(Aug) I started this quick (hence the name) little book as a time filler. I didn't realize I was jumping in 4th in the series! Hilary has been held captive for 20 years by bad guys (who i later discovered are introduced in the 2nd book). For some reason (maybe it's explained in book 3?) Oscar and other lions are searching the properties of the bad guys - and Oscar discovers his mate is locked in a room in a dilapidated house. He frees her and they run, only to be overrun by the bad guys who take Hilary back into captivity. Oscar goes to his Alpha, Marcus (Hero of book 1) and they get the bad guy, Tony, to talk about why Hilary was being held captive and where she is. The lions spread out and finally find her. Oscar once again rescues her and..they live HEA??
This was by far the most frustrating book in the series. There is just waaaay too much left out. Hilary is an Omega lion, supposed to be calming and soothing to those around her. Fine - but then why is she so snarky and sarcastic? Why was she kidnapped? From where? When? Why did no one in her family ever report her missing or come look for her? How was she held captive for 20 years and no one knew about her? I was sure the next book would explain more about her or the guys who held her captive - but it appears the next book goes in a completely different direction and there is absolutely no closure to this story, no explanation about anything that happened here. I mean, I get these are supposed to be fun little shorts, but you can't introduce a whole background w/o any explanation! I would have given this 2*, except I really liked Hilary (so possessive!) and Oscar and their sexy time was fun!
Heads or Tails by Celia Kyle is the latest installment in her Quick & Furry series. These a super quick reads do not need to be read in chronological order. Ms. Kyle has become my go to author when I am looking for laughter and heat. She manages to balance humor with the sexy times with very few words. And her heroine in this tale…loved her. Hilary has been a prisoner her entire life but she still manages to find humor in her circumstances. I mean who would think that instead of being cowered and living in fear, Hilary would play little games entirely for her own amusement. Even if the results will lead to painful consequences she has to alleviate the boredom so way right? And then she meets Oscar. Oscar her mate. Oscar who is in danger just because of who he is to her. Her warden has killed for less. But does Hilary focus on the possibility of freedom? No she focuses instead on protecting her mate. I love the strength that Hilary exuded even though omegas are not perceived as strong. Ms. Kyle showed us a woman whose inner strength was phenomenal. Hilary has become my new favorite character in this series and when I grow up I want to be just like her.
After spending twenty years in captivity just to be rescued by your mate. Who wouldn't want to play romp -a-round in the sheets, who's your mate, come to big poppa, oh hell! Just screw your freakin mate. Hillary had so much backed up frustration and sexuation (my new made up word that goes with applesauce) that all thoughts of fighting slipped her mind. Her lion took a backseat all those years but when she thought her nan was shot in the heart she opened up a can of predation I Nguyen beytch on her enemy. Nobody's I literally mean nobody messes with her man. Not even the alpha. This is a quick but good book to read. Especially if you need to release some negative energy. Ms. Kyle did it again. Don't just take my word that it's a good book, go buy it and tell me what you think.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This short little read had a great amount of spunk that I've come to expect from this author. She really excels at writing spunky chicks who don't put up with the overbearing men in their lives. Adorably sarcastic and tough, I'm a sucker for that type of thing.
Hilary has been trapped behind a locked door for a long time. She thought she might never escape until the day Oscar (her mate) ends up raiding the house to clear up a crime boss's holdings. At first scent, these two know they are mates, but there are more than a few hoops to jump through first. Then with the sexy times (which are always good in these books).
Ohhhh I loved this! I thought it was hilarious how Hilary is an Omega...she is far from it...I mean she is but she so doesn't act like it. LOL. She's not as docile as normal Omega's are. They are supposed to be healing and soothing and calming. Ha...Oliver finds out differently. He's seriously sexy and hot. Funny too how Colton didnt wanna knock on their door but they could totally hear him through the door! HA. Loved this series so much. Sad its kinda over. :( Maybe there will be more? :) Anyways, it was so cute and sexy. I loved both characters. I was hoping after book 1 I'd get to read about Oliver.
Hillary has been a prisoner for 20 years. The last thing she expects to have happen is to be rescued by her mate only to have him taken away so soon with only a chance to say good bye. Oscar can't believe he found his mate in the broken and dilapidated side of town only to have her snatched away and he'll kick anyone's butt who gets in his way to get her back.
What a great story of a feisty Omega and an Alpha enforcer. It's full of sexy growly times and a HEA. Can't wait to see who gets a story next maybe pain in the butt Colton. I received an ARC for my honest review.
This book is listed as a standalone, but honestly, if you prefer knowing the story as to why these people are in this situation, you need to read the previous books. This story seems to skim the surface of everything, so you're reading the main points of what happens with no real body supporting it. I like the characters and the basic stories of the series, there's just not enough to satisfy my feeling of what a book is. (Apologies if this doesn't make sense, it's a lupus brain night and I tried to get the words right.)
This story had a few things going on but it was fun to read. Hillary is like the worst captive person ever. I think she could have freed herself at any time but she just liked messing with her captors heads. She is an Omega but isn't a pushover. I loved that about her. Even though this book was her love story, you could have kept the romance part out and the story would still have been fun to read. I loved it, she's amazing, you should read it!
This is book 4 of the Quick and Furry series. Hillary has been a prisoner for 20 years to a cruel lion alpha, Tony is a criminal and now he is in jail. Oscar is the pack enforcer and is working with the other enforcers to cleanup after taking down the criminal family of lion shifters. He finds Hillary in an abandoned house and instantly know she is his mate. This is their funny and touching adventure of finding love forever.
I enjoyed this book. As with the previous three, I would have liked them longer. I know they were designed to be short (and priced as such) but they were good and there was enough material there for a longer story. It's not really a complaint, more of an observation. When I'm enjoying something, I want it to last for a while.
I did like Hilary and found her character quite interesting. The book was entertaining and well written. It was a good, fun book.
As usual Celia Kyle has done it again. There's tall, sexy Werelions & pretty, BBW Werelionesses who have yet to meet. In order to do so they need to be found, bad guys beat up & lots & lots of loving & mating!!
Short, Sweet Series novella style. Only problem is waiting for the next one. :-D I've read pretty much everything that Ms. Kyle has written & haven't been disappointed yet.
I really love how the book progressed. It gives you just enough background on the main and several supporting characters to develop the story and keep it a quick read. I really like Oscar and Hillary. The bi-play between the lions are funny. I am still chuckling about the enforcers encroaching the dilapidated house with the garbage and other tuck surrounding it. Great read.
Once again I can only thank you for such great short stories. These have thoroughly entertained me for the last 4 nights. My only problem is now I have to pick something else to read. I hate when your books are over. I love the "family" groups and how they all mesh together. So much fun. I am also a big fan of sarcasm so these books are made for me.
Another hit for Celia Kyle. Humorous and smexy. Lots of snarky dialogue. You won't go wrong with this book or the series. Somewhat similar to the Ridgeville books, but with different charactoers and situations. WANT MORE!
Even though the stories are really short they're good I would have really like some more background information on Hilary's captivity but I like the fact that she was just as possessive as Oscar overall a good read can't wait to see what's going to happen.
Gotta love an omega that can kick butt when needed! Loved this whole series. It's kind of like a Hershey's Kiss... one bite you can savor, that will hold you for a little while, but you always want another.
It was a really enjoyable story and I loved the characters. They shared great chemistry and I wish we could have seen(read) more, that it could have been longer and more informative. Nevertheless for a short story I still really enjoyed it!
Umm, well this is kind of ok, what let it down was the end...I felt like "where's the rest?" so although this was a book a week thing, I can only hope that it will be further expanded in a continued series. Four books did not really finish it.
She has done it again.. Celia Kylie is absolutely awesome. She can get you going with her character they seem so real. I would recommend this book to everyone over the age of 18.
It's time to get out, meet and get some Hot,growly possessive mate for after being locked up since forever it seems me and my Omega kitty's luck is finally gotten Really Lucky!! Good fun sexy read just wish it was longer.
Great, but too short. It would be even better if Me Kyle would culminate this series with a regular length book. Even if she doesn't, love them anyway. I love the feisty females leads. Rock on!!!
After being held passively for 20 years Hillary's lioness has had enough and all it took to change that was her sexier than sin mate finding her after being left behind in the stash house of the mob
