Enchantée
A perfect small-town romance for fans of Gilmore Girls and Laurie Gilmore’s novels, this book captures all the sweetness of friends to first times, teenage love, and butterflies in your stomach. Because we’re tired of clichés and just want to know the real, concrete actions that lead to happiness, I wrote the first story that finally shows how to find joy without having to travel the world.
Lola has never left her hometown, but leaving is all she’s ever dreamed of. She longs to see what lies beyond the horizon, convinced that somewhere else waits the « something more » she needs to be happy.
Until the day a mysterious neighbor tells her about a balance to be found, not on the other side of the world, but within herself. What if happiness only existed where you stop long enough to truly see it ?

One of my favorite reads of the year so far! 🥹🩷 So glad I can talk about this book now (now that it’s out) YAYYYYY! ⭐️ Every time I read a book from this author I’m absolutely FLOORED with how her characters feel like a part of me. Being able to connect with characters in a book on a a deeper level like that is something that is very rare and so so special. I fell absolutely in LOVE with this book from the characters to the storyline to the overall message. The book follows Lola who is really on a self discovery journey to find what she really wants out of life. She lives in a small town and has BIG dreams in which some people don’t understand but she is trying her best to navigate her wants and goals. She meets this mysterious neighbor who becomes a mentor for her to dig deeper and reflect on what makes her happy and what she wants out of her life. The story also follows her feelings towards her best friend from childhood. As these two navigate their friendship and how they feel and what it means for them both. I think this is the PERFECT SUMMER read that you will fall in love with. Self discovery, friendship, romance, adventure…it has it all and I recommend it 100000000%! 🩷🩷🩷

🍒 This book had all the small-town, friends-to-lovers feel good vibes that a girl could want when embarking on some leisurely summer reading. Once again, I applaud Fanfan for her beautiful philosophy and daydreaming that she portrays in her protagonists- all of which hint at a deeper feeling than love for another, but also self-love. The world-building of rural Rochedor was gorgeous and helped immerse me into the history of the town and the relationships within the community- beautifully done!!
౨ৎ˚ Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore the friends-to-lovers trope and I was definitely fed with the interactions between Lola & Andrea. The mini references I caught to rom-coms also had me hooked- even if the paint scene reminiscent of 90s classic ‘10 things I hate about you’ was with Théo instead of Andrea. Even Andrea & Lola dressing as a knight and princess had me swooning!!

I had a great time reading it. For me, the strength of this story lies in the author’s mature writing style. She prompts us to ask ourselves questions during our reading. It’s also immersive because we’re immediately welcomed into this small French country town. Between the many traditions, warm inhabitants and horses, we feel like we’re part of a large family.
We follow Lola, who is searching for happiness. She’s convinced the grass is greener on the other side. I couldn’t relate to her because I also live in a small town and I’ve never had the desire for the city, the noise or to travel around the world. But I loved watching her search for answers, find her inner peace and a place to belong. She managed to stay true to herself. Andrea was so sweet, while also knowing how to gently challenge Lola’s thoughts. The childhood friends-to-lovers romance was cute, though I would have liked a little more depth. Maybe some glimpses of the past.
I also really liked Madeleine, this solitary woman who hides a lot of mystery and helps our heroine. I can’t imagine this story without her in it and her advice.
Don’t hesitate to support indie authors if you’re looking for a philosophical romance that makes your brain work and that you can read in one sitting. Available in both French and English!

J’ai beaucoup aimé l’ambiance small town et toute cette atmosphère estivale et réconfortante. La quête de Lola autour du bonheur et de ce qu’elle veut vraiment dans sa vie était vraiment intéressante, avec un joli message sur le fait d’apprendre à se connaître et à trouver sa propre voie.
J’ai aussi bien aimé la romance friends-to-lovers entre Lola et Andrea, même si j’aurais aimé qu’elle soit un peu plus développée pour vraiment m’attacher à leur histoire.
La plume est jolie, assez poétique et philosophique, et j’ai adoré les petites références à Gilmore Girls qui apportent encore plus de charme à l’histoire 🥹

A Beautiful Story of Finding Happiness Within 💐🩷
Enchantée was such a charming, gorgeous story set in the French countryside about discovering what happiness truly means
Lola felt incredibly relatable, constantly yearning for more from life while being unable to fully appreciate the beauty surrounding her…I loved how she goes from being trapped in the anxiety of her worries to slowly opening herself up to change, reaching out to Madeleine the mysterious neighbour, learning about meditation & spirituality, exploring what else life could offer her through other people and eventually realising that true happiness was always something she had to find within herself and was already right in front of her. That journey of self discovery felt incredibly comforting and so so meaningful to read.
I was honestly nervous about how Lola and Andreas’ relationship would work out but the way their story unfolded ended up being so romantic and heartfelt. The childhood best friends to lovers dynamic was done beautifully, capturing the purity of love, vulnerability and the fear that comes with finally letting someone in and learning how to navigate everything that comes after that.
I absolutely adored the Gilmore Girls quotes at the beginning of each chapter. They perfectly captured the cosy small town romance atmosphere and added so much personality to the story. The town itself felt magical with all of its whimsical celebrations and comforting community spirit.
Fan Fan Delarose’s writing style is soft, poetic and deeply emotional. Overall this was such a comforting and enchanting read that left me with that cosy small town feeling long after finishing it.
I’m so glad to have found an author who answers the philosophical questions we all want to find out in life. 🥰

Trust me when I say I am speechless. I haven’t read a book written like this in forever!!!! There’s something about Fanfan’s writing that just slips under your skin in the softest, most unexpected way. The way she tells a story feels like she’s speaking directly to the part of you that still believes in magic. It leaves a mark.
I have never seen myself in a character the way I see myself in Lola. She’s personal. She’s tender. She’s searching for something bigger than her small town, and when you read her story, you don’t just follow her journey, you feel it. If you’ve ever looked beyond the horizon and wondered what else life could be, you will become enchanted by her. She dreams big, and I will always resonate with that.

Mais je me suis rapidement rendue compte que je faisais fausse route.
« Enchantée », c’est l’épopée d’une jeune adulte en quête du bonheur, une réelle réflexion sur le sens de la vie et une introspection profonde de nos émotions.
« Enchantée », c’est aussi une ville de campagne remplie de traditions, une communauté soudée et grandiose qu’on aimerait rejoindre.
Enfin, « Enchantée », c’est surtout une leçon de vie, un moyen de comprendre où est notre place et pourquoi il faut rester fidèle à nous-mêmes.
La romance entre les deux protagonistes est absolument adorable, il s’agit d’un childhood best friends to lovers si bien construit que nous captons les émotions et les sentiments des personnages de façon très juste.
Leur histoire est une évidence et on le voit clairement dès les premières pages. Tout cela réchauffe profondément le cœur.

firstly i need to thank fan fan de la rose who’s definitely one of the kindest and most loving people i’ve met here and that i can’t wait to get to know more :) tysm for the opportunity to read this story that from the very beginning allowed me to fly to france and meet lola and andrea!
from the begging while reading lola’s thoughts i would know that i would have found myself very much in her! she’s soooo pure with all her thoughts and doubts that it is impossible not to find yourself in her! to quote olivia dean: “she’s so easy to fall in love” bc it’s absolutely true 🍒🌞

Par où commencer…🥹🥹
C’est une small town romance avec une touche de poésie magnifiquement bien écrit , j’ai absolument adoré la plume poétique et très philosophique de l’auteur qui exprime les sentiments de Lola à travers des phrases qui reflètent une psychologie dense.
J’ai adoré la relation entre les personnages et le fait qu’ils se connaissent depuis l’enfance rend l’histoire encore plus belle.💕
Une romance d’été et idéale pour les personnes qui recherchent une lecture douce et sans prise de tête !⭐️

A hidden gem from a self-published author?? And with so few reviews??
I read Enchantée this summer by the sea. I was captivated by the story, by Lola’s profound questions, and by Madeleine’s valuable advice. This “grandmother/granddaughter” relationship is so touching and unique. The small-town atmosphere is so well described, and the characters are endearing. You’re completely immersed in the warmth of this story. Congratulations to the author, I’d buy her other books in a heartbeat!!

Enchantée est une romance philosophique. L’introspection a donc une grande place, en plongeant dans tous les questionnements de Lola.
Il y a parfois de longs passages descriptifs, peu de dialogues. Un personnage m’a également semblé problématique...
La relation entre Lola et Andrea est touchante, j’ai adoré la suivre !
Si vous aimez les small town et les livres feel-good... foncez !

Ce livre est un livre qui parle du bonheur mais plus que ça il raconte une histoire d’amour entre 2 personnage aussi entre l’héroïne et sont amour de soi, sa quête du bonheur et son envie profonde de s’épanouir la où elle est. Sans avoir besoin de plus ni d’être déçu d’autres choses pour ce rendre compte qu’elle a toujours eu le bonheur entre les main. Je le recommande les yeux fermés à toute personnes de tout âge différent.

I loved this sweet lil story, and could relate to the feeling of never being satisfied with where you are and what you want in life. Searching for happiness can be so hard and exhausting, so I loved the main character’s journey. I also love a best friends to lovers story!

This was such a sweet romance story, and I found myself falling in love with the main character so fast. As a fellow fan of Gilmore Girls, I really wanted to find another story with a similar feeling and this was the perfect book for that. I can't wait for more books by Fanfan.

This was such an easy, beautiful read 🥹 I fell in love with the characters and the story immediately! The writing was beautiful and the plot kept me hooked the entire time. Can’t wait to see more from Fanfan 💓💓
