What if you were a fringe-friend and you’re invited on a trip of a lifetime with the friend group you’ve been wanting to be “in” with? What if an unimaginable tragedy happens during this dream-trip and suddenly you’re fighting for your life with your friends? What if you’re finding out more about these “friends” than you ever knew and some of these truths are not comforting? What if you seem to be the only friend that can see the problem?! What do you do? How do you help the group see the truth and also keep yourself, and them, alive?! Welcome to Island Time. Come with this group of college seniors who decide to celebrate their final spring break with a trip to the Bahamas at one of their friends grandparents vacation home. What they don’t know is that disaster will strike. They don’t know that everything they believed about each other may have been a well orchestrated lie. And that the only person who can see it is the one that hasn’t been ensnared in the lies. This story is a fast paced, page turning thrill ride of who-do-I-trust and who is going to die next?! But in the pages there are also truth bombs sprinkled in. Truths that you have to stop and let soak in when you read them. If you are a fan of thrillers and/or disaster fiction then you need to read this book! If you’re not sure but you need a good palate cleanser then give this book a try! I think you won’t regret it. Thank you so much to the author for the eARC! This voluntary review is my honest thoughts and opinions about the book. Check your TW of course. This book also has open door spice, I would rate it 2/5 🌶️🌶️.
“Obedience is access. I recognize that now; just as I recognize how quickly we learned to obey.”
“I should’ve been smarter. I grew up with that behavior, after all. I just couldn’t comprehend that everything I’d left behind had found me again in something I actually wanted. I may not have noticed the exact moment it all changed, but I knew it did, and still, I’d tell myself it’d be different this time because I was choosing it. Wanting something, as I’ve learned, doesn’t make it any less of a trap when you have to rely on someone else to give it to you.”
“I think about how easy it is to love people at a distance, especially when the version of someone you miss isn’t the same version of them you have now.”
“I wish I could tell her that he didn't mean the things he said, but I can't. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between someone saying something they don't mean in the heat of the moment, and using the heat of the moment as an excuse to say something they've always thought.”
Island Time by Noelle Edwards is everything I was hoping for and more. Sadie, the outlier in a group of college kids living their best life, is invited on an epic spring break trip in tropical paradise. Sure, the owner of the house is a little controlling, nobody seems to be able to keep it in their pants, they’re passing around the liquor and drugs, and not everybody is truly THAT close, but… What could possibly go wrong?
Next thing you know, a hurricane wipes out the entire island and they’re forced into survival mode. Spoiler alert; things get… messy. 🩸
Island Time, a natural disaster thriller, was truly un-put-downable. The author does such a fantastic job of describing the scene that you feel you are fighting for your lives alongside them. You feel betrayal, shock, disgust, and sometimes question how your morals would hold up in this situation. 😅 If you ever think to yourself “that author wouldn’t do that to this character…” this is that one author that absolutely has the audacity to do it.
This is a fast-paced, seasoned with a little spice 🌶️, “who the hell did what”, “what did he just say?”, “WHO IS DEAD?!”, “somebody is lying”, page-turner of the year. 😳
Truly, I have nothing but good to say about this chilling masterpiece, and no amount of wording in my review is going to replicate the feeling of diving into this book. 📖
This book will be published on April 12th, and you do NOT wanna miss out.
Oh my goodness, this book quickly became one of my favorites of the year! Thank you to Noelle Edwards and all who made it possible for me to be an ARC reader for this book! I’ve been an ARC reader for Noelle since Forged in Ashes, the second book in The Golden One Trilogy, where I fell in love with her writing style. When I first heard about Island Time, I was excited to read it, but I won’t lie and admit that I was a little worried about how the story would be, since this is such a different type of book than any of The Golden One Trilogy. However I had nothing to worry about because she did a top notch job with this book! Through her writing, I felt like I was right there with everyone, trying to make it through each day after a hurricane destroys the island they went to for spring break. You could really feel all the emotions the characters went through and could cry for them in many, many instances. I am not ashamed to admit that I did sob my way through the majority of this book and could not put it down. One thing I really applaud Noelle for doing is making sure none of the awful, tragic events that occur in this book were glorified in any way. Overall, this book was fantastic, and I would love to see more books in this genre from Noelle because she knocked it out of the park! Thank you again to Noelle Edwards and all who made it possible for me to receive an ARC!
Island Time is a modern day “Lord of the Flies”. A group of college friends head to an island for spring break, ready to party and let loose. Ignoring the hurricane warnings because of the “nothing will happen to me” mentality, the group continues on having a good time until a hurricane hits, essentially demolishing everything in its path… basically the entire island. People are missing, dying, and fighting for survival in this brilliant story by Noelle Edwards.
I read Island Time in one sitting. It was spectacular. Think “Lost”, but hurricane instead of a plane crash. Not everyone will make it back from this trip. True colors come out and betrayals happen at lightning speed. Amidst all the chaos, our FMC, Sadie, finds an ally in Henry. Feelings bloom amidst all the destruction. As the rest of the survivors start to fall, they do whatever they can to stay strong & work to get as many of their group out of the wreckage as possible, deserving of help or not. Island Time was a deliciously destructive example of how society turns when the unthinkable happens, and this time, it’s to a group of uppity trust fund kids. One of my favorite books of the year.
Thank you to Noelle Edwards and her team for an advanced copy of this incredible book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book absolutely blew me away (no pun intended 😀)
It genuinely feels like you’re binging a TV show; every chapter is timestamped in the hours after a hurricane, and I could not stop reading.
A group of college friends heads out for a chaotic spring break trip… but when a hurricane hits and strands them on an island with no way out or contact with the outside world, everything shifts from partying to pure survival. What starts as “fun” quickly turns tense, then dangerous.
At the center of it all is James—the wealthy, charismatic host everyone seems to revolve around. His house becomes their shelter, his word becomes law… and the power dynamics get very real, very fast. As things start to unravel, Sadie begins to notice the cracks—and what’s really going on beneath the surface.
Think: survival thriller meets psychological drama, with shifting alliances, mounting paranoia, and a lot of “who can you actually trust?” energy with secrets getting revealed all over the place!
There are a lot of characters to keep up with, but it’s so worth it.
PUB DATE: April 12 — add this to your spring break TBR immediately 🏝️📖
Thank you Noelle Edwards for this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts. Releases April 12, 2026
This was a fun read! Took me a little to get into it but it picked up rather quickly.
We have a large group of college friends going on their final spring break. They are staying on an island at a wealthy friends beach house.
I mean.. college kids on spring break.. what could possibly go wrong?
Definitely not your average type of spring break! We go through all sorts of things.. a natural disaster, betrayals, chaos, emotions. I was on the edge of my seat several times.

🌀 Natural disaster 🤝🏻 psychological thriller 🔪 Island Time is a survival thriller about a group of college friends celebrating their final spring break. While staying at a friend's house on a tropical island, they become stranded after a hurricane, forcing them to confront their secrets and fight for survival as their world descends into pure chaos. This book honestly started off a little slow for me (maybe I wasn't in the right head space 😂), but picked up pretty quickly and I spent a few late nights getting lost in this book!
🌞 Release date: April 12 🌞 pre-order your copy today!
This survival thriller was completely addictive from start to finish. I loved the pacing, with every chapter delivering another shocking or chaotic moment that kept me turning the page and staying up far too late telling myself “just one more chapter” so I could see if my favorite characters would survive another hour. The story follows a large group of college students on spring break in the Caribbean when a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane destroys everything around them, forcing them to fend for themselves and learn how to survive in terrifying conditions. The tension, danger, and group dynamics made this such a gripping read, and I couldn’t put it down.
big thanks to @noelleedwardsauthor for gifting me this ARC.
Island Time is a natural disaster thriller that makes you feel like you’re watching reality TV. It felt dramatic in all the right ways, and kept you hooked. I will say, it was a little difficult to keep all of the characters straight, but it was still a wild ride from start to finish.
reading this during the intense rain storms over the past few days really solidified the vibe.
release date April 7 (which just so happens to be my birthday) !!

Island time is a thriller that follows Sadie a college student on spring break with her friends on an island in the Bahamas. The beginning is fun in the sun with drinks by the fire at night but after ignoring disaster warnings it turns to a vacation straight from hell. Sadie has to survive psychological games against her so called friends. This book has lord of the flies vibes but with entitled rich kids. It was a quick read for me, I was hooked trying to see would Sadie survive. I would definitely recommend to any thriller lovers .
I’m not gonna lie, this one had me on edge the whole time.
It’s the kind of story where you’re constantly second guessing everyone because nothing ever feels fully safe or certain. That tension just keeps building and doesn’t really let up.
The group dynamics really stood out. Everything feels a little unstable and shifts in a way that keeps you hooked.
I flew through it because I needed to see how it was all going to unfold.
Thank you to the author for letting me read this, I really enjoyed it.
Thank you @noelleedwardsauthor for letting me read an eARC of this story! It was a great time.
If you like disaster thrillers, this book is for you. Just when I thought they were out of harms way, something else popped up. Some moments made me stop reading and really think about what had just happened. Others left me impressed. (Didn’t want to say too much without giving something away lol)
Sorry to say it, but this one didn't work for me. Here's why: there's just too many characters to keep them all straight or to get invested in any of them. Also, they are shallow, self-centered and unlikeable in general. They know there is a strong possibility that they are going to die on an island with no rescue in sight and several of them just want to screw. An interesting premise that just didn't deliver as I'd hoped.
*Advanced ARC received in exchange for honest review.
Group of college friends going on Spring Break before graduation to an Island what can go wrong? Oh you know just Cat 5 Hurricane warning, drinking, gaving the time of their lives.... then just when you think things cant get worse it just keeps getting worse. Secrets get revealed and Betrayals everyone starts turning on each other. This book had me hooked like where is it going and just had me gasping till the end. It was a fast read and really enjoyed this survival thriller!
