I love the movie, and I loved the book it was different from the movie, but also the same in some ways but I loved every minute of it 😃 I absolutely love me some backwoods cannibal horror books, and I really need more. Does anyone have any recommendations?

ok, I’ve read a number of the novelizations by the author, and although he can put a good story on the page, he has GOT to work on basic grammar, or at least get an editor that is paying attention. Here’s the problem: there are WAY too many sentences fragments throughout the book, and the problem shows up in numerous other novelizations also. And no, I’m not making this up just to be a douche.
Don’t believe me? Read the book and see.
Just for the hell of it, I took about five examples from this book and tried typing them into a Word Doc exactly as they were in the book, and the grammar check flagged every example immediately as ‘sentence fragment, consider revising.’ So, any Word file will pick up on the problem, so how the hell are all the fragments getting through? Please fix this problem, commas are not your enemy!
The reason it’s frustrating is it detracts from material that I really want to enjoy. Clearly, the author knows and loves the material, and he does a great job putting it on the page, minus that one glaring problem. The pacing is always great, and he really brings these old films to life, but the damn fragments make him seem careless. Then again, any editor should have caught all this, but maybe Echo On publications can’t afford one. In that case, get more test readers.
In closing, if this one annoyance was fixed, I would probably buy damn near every one of the novelizations the company does, cause I love the films. As of right now, I will have to skip them in favor of ones written by other authors that the publishing company puts out there.

it’s as if christian francis has been specifically writing these mostly early 2000s horror novel adaptations like he knows i’m out here waiting for them and will immediately buy them the first chance i get…. his tremors novelization is still my favorite so far, but ever since i turned to the last page of the one for the descent (my least favorite out of them all, a true shame) and gasped when i saw the ad saying he had a wrong turn novel coming out soon, i’ve been SO excited. like. YAY. i just looovveee this kind of stuff, i’m so glad this was another really good one

can’t say any more as i’m now too busy using my beautifully ever glowing mind to will ginger snaps to somehow be next (come on sir christian francis, get the rights to the script just for me and doooo iiitttt)

WOW i flew through this! wrong turn was one of the first horror movies i ever saw growing up and really made me the horror fan i am today. so when i found out about this novelization, i immediately ordered it. this is SUCH A GOOD ADAPTATION! i really hope this author continues to write novelizations for the rest of the wrong turn movies.. especially wrong turn 2 and wrong turn 4.. my absolute favorites. it would amazing to see how they adapt to books! this book is easily a favorite of mine this year, this felt so nostalgic for me.

As a fan of this movie (granted most of that was due to my obsession with Buffy and Eliza Dushku) when Christian said he was writing the book, I was all over it.

What really makes this book stand out, is the extra detail in the pages, the atmospheric descriptions and its ability to provide clear albeit disturbing imagery in your head.

The ending is also different to the movie, giving it a complete and bookended feel that really adds to the experience.

A great job with this one, seriously.

Wrong Turn is a freaky and underrated slice of backwoods horror. This novel was a lot of fun, it was really cool that it was the original screenplay and differed quite a bit from the movie. But man the ending here just plain sucks. If it was the original ending in the original script, REALLY glad they didn’t go with it for the movie.
