I felt like this book really dragged. There were moments where I enjoyed it but I felt that it needed more twists rather than sticking on one point in different ways.
Inner turmoil from one moment.. When technology allows everyone to use different versions of them virtually anywhere, and when common sense does not necessarily enter the picture, it is easy for another to think it through and not do what a person might 'do'. For instance, if you are a person who is used to getting a lot of phone calls at all hours, you might answer that phone no matter what you are doing, like driving. When something very bad happens due to that action, it is easy to say afterwards that you should not have answered the phone. That is the scenario of this story. What it does to what's left of that family, how that person acted after that action. It is a very good story that is good for most, especially if they have a cellular phone. J. Cronshaw did an amazing job with this story! It is yet another one that helps the rest of us to think. Thank you, J. Cronshaw, for another great story. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I really enjoyed My Daughter Knows: A Psychological thriller (Standalone Psychological thrillers). J Cronshaw.
Kim Harrison is a Mother and MP who is campaigning for Michael's Law to be passed in Parliament, as she lost her husband in a hit and run collision. Her daughter Ruby seeks solace in online videos to help her in her grief.
Unbeknown to Ruby she has become a victim of deepfake technology. Her videos are gaining momentum. Like the song by Johnny Nash "There are more questions than answers". Ruby is like a puppet on a string as she thinks she is actually speaking online to Charles, a therapist who is deepfake and he makes her question her Father's death.
Kim is concerned that Ruby and a persistent journalist will uncover a secret that she never wishes to reveal.
This thriller delves into grief, sympathy, memories and moving forward.
I loved the line pinned by Ruby "The stories we tell about people after they die say more about us than about them".
wow! wow! wow! I really enjoyed this book. I liked how it started, straight in to the story, likeable characters. I liked mum and daughter relationship, and how the whole book unfolded, it kept me reading into the night. I couldn't put it down i just wanted to know what happens next. It's a real page turner, i highly recommend this book. Jon's books are getting better and better with each stand alone story he writes.
Kim is in the spotlight and her daughter is grieving publicly. It causes a tremendous amount of trouble that they might not see coming. This book had me asking myself so many questions that eventually did get answered but is still playing on my mind long after I have finished reading. It's full of lies and secrets to unwrap slowly.
Mind blowing. What a journey! A mother's secret, a daughter's grief playing out in public. So many questions. Very well written and highly recommended read. I enjoyed this book so much, I bought this writer's whole back catalogue. I was lucky enough to read an advance copy direct from the author and leave this review voluntarily.
Wow so i got this book as a advanced reader copy from the author and here is my voluntary review.Sooo many secrets and lies in one book. Had me hooked. Good storyline and good characters. I read some chapters like this 😮. Highly reccomended read
family tragedy, secrets, and deceptions all dragged into the public domain by the juggernaut that is social media If this doesn't make you think about the information you put out there then I'm not sure anything will
A very powerful thriller where convenient lies emerge over time to becomes backlash. Lots of unexpected twists and controversy as a daughter seeks the truth about her father’s demise.
