Final Darkness: Falling Shadows Book 3:

Rate this book
A fatal act of self-defense threatens to tear the Kiona Falls community apart, putting the Meyer family in the crosshairs of an angry mob. As foreign forces tighten their grip on American soil and European borders, Tom and Kevin encounter ruthless new enemies that push them to their breaking points in book 3 of FALLING SHADOWS.

From 4.5-million-copy bestselling author Mike Kraus and Justin Bell comes a brand-new Falling Shadows.

On the 4th of July, millions of Americans gather to celebrate, waiting for familiar shows to paint the night sky. Instead, thousands of commercial drones activate with a deadly new purpose, plummeting into crowds as they unleash a coordinated, explosive assault that decapitates the US government and plunges the nation into a dark, powerless state of chaos.

At the National Mall, Deputy Secretary of Defense Jonas Cassidy is enjoying the festivities with his wife and young daughter when the drones descend. Ripped from his family in the panicked stampede, Jonas is dragged into a secure underground bunker to help a shattered government respond, leaving him trapped below while his loved ones face the burning, riot-torn streets of the capital alone.

Meanwhile, half a world away in Belarus, aging CIA officer Tom Meyer discovers his country is under attack as global communications go dead. His survival is far from guaranteed as he finds himself stranded deep behind enemy lines, facing a treacherous journey across a hostile, war-torn landscape if he has any hope of ever seeing his family again.

Back home on their sprawling ranch in rural Washington state, Tom’s wife Amanda and their daughters watch the world unravel before their screens go dark. With society collapsing around them, they are about to experience the most intense test of their survival and homesteading skills as they prepare to defend their land against the encroaching desperation of their own neighbors.

Seriously Puts The Thriller In Technothriller!!

Final Darkness, book 3 in the Falling Shadows series, picks up where book 2 left off: everyone is still separated and the attacks are not stopping! I didn't think Bell and Kraus could up the ante with the Falling Shadows series, but they managed to do it anyway. In Final Darkness, there is a battle scene that is immaculately, the chaos was deftly managed and easy to follow, with multiple moving parts a, but the level of complication in just this one scene is amazing. You'll know the battle when you reach it. The rest of the writing is top knotch, as readers have come to expect from anything Bell and Kraus write. Overall, 5/5 well earned stars, highly recommended for fans of apocalyptic survival thrillers, technothrillers and thrillers in general!

This continues a good series and thanks for the recap of previous books at the start. I still like the attack of the drones, as being somewhat pertinent to warfare in the current age, but it seems like the massive production and build up of hundreds of thousands of drones, motherships etc would have come to the notice of some country's intelligence. Kevin's part of the story moved a long a bit. The government bunker was a bit slow, though they got little time to tell us know how bad things were there. I'm still not a Tom fan and find his part a bit tedious, though we did get to see more of what was happening in Europe; I just don't care to know every single detail of what he sees. The Kiona Falls had a lot of the story, though it is starting to morph from the impact of the attack on the country, to the shenanigans of Maggie's crazy former boyfriend. On to book 4.

Final Darkness is another thrilling book in the Falling Shadows series. Every chapter kept me on the edge of my seat and I was continuously holding my breath as our main characters face many dangers. A really exciting series and definitely looking forward to the next book.

This is a good read, it has good plot progress with some really tense moments! I do enjoy that it has a couple of different perspectives as well as it being set in two different locations. A good fun read, looking forward to the next part!

Love the authors. I usually rate their books 5/5 stars. This one is 4/5. This book and series has been difficult to get through. Tom’s experiences in Eastern Europe were a bit on the boring side. I skimmed through a lot of his story.

Tom and Kevin face new and dangerous enemies. Will they be able to save the town. Full of action and suspense that won’t let you stop reading until you find out the truth. Love everything these authors write.
