HIS TEXAS HEIR is Book 1 of The Holts of Briar Hill series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, close-proximity, curvy girl gets her cowboy romance. Millie is a 26-year-old curvy, type A, organized event planner who longs to have a baby. She was planning to do it on her own but lost her job. She still keeps her appointment at the fertility clinic. Gage is a 38-year-old hunky rancher who needs to have an heir within a year or he will lose the family ranch. He sits next to Millie at the same clinic and is immediately drawn to the curvy beauty. She ends up proposing they have a baby together and he is all in, as long as it's done the old-fashioned way. These two both had a bit of a breeding kink. Their chemistry was insane and the ending was so happy. I can't wait to read the next one!

So I’m just gonna say it 🤷. Millie is described as curvy …really curvy in the beginning of the book. Thats fine. We come in all shapes and sizes. Then the first smutty scene comes out and she is 250 pounds. So … morbidly obese, not curvy. There are going to be plenty of spicy scenes in the book and my imagination does not want to go there.

One man needs a baby to inherit his farm and another woman wants a baby just beacause. They met at the fertility centre and decided to fix their problem themselves (plus, it's cheaper).

It was pretty decent. Very spicy. Very instalovey. Low angst. I had a good time with it. Just what I needed at that point.

The author is really brave with the tropes she uses and makes everything romantic
This is an unusual meeting between the main couple, not for everyone, but the story is romantic and safe
The sex scenes are really hot and amazing
It’s insta everything but still not a short book

An extremely hot steamy read, when Gage and Millie devise their contact on the tailgate of his pickup. Thanks to Gage's uncle trying for the ranch through legal action. Gage has one year to have a baby. He meets Millie in a fertility clinic, while she was waiting to discuss her not so shining options. She had lost her job causing her not to be able to meet her planned timeline. So they talked, and thought they could help each other out with their problems. Millie would need to move to his ranch for availability, but they never discussed what would happen after she got pregnant, and when the baby was born. The attraction between them was undeniable from the very beginning, as Gage picked the seat next Millie there were other empty chairs in the room. He was finished before she was, and he could have left without waiting on her. She in no way rebuffed the idea of the plan finding Gage handsome and non-threatening.

I usually don’t give a book with so many sex scenes a five star rating. But the need for the outcome to be a heir gave each scene a whole new depth. The way Camila and Gage jived together was heartwarming! The way their families got along from the beginning made a great story even better. Add Texas Hill Country: ‘ole!’

. Lot of repetitive sentences, over use of adjectives that don’t even fit in the story line at the time. Character names getting changed. Sad part is it could be a very good story of executed correctly. Breeding kink mixed with contract marriage. Skimmed through 50% of it because my brain wanted to know the ending and wouldn’t rest until I knew.

This story has it all from small town romance to the best characters. I found Gage and Millie to keep me turning the kindle pages to see their story unfold page after page until the end. I am looking forward to reading book number 2 in this series by an author I just discovered.
