Halloween with Ilya is a short story on Rachel Reid's website that it about Ilya's first Halloween in Ottawa.
The way this little short story had me giggling and kicking my feet, oh my gosh! I just love watching Ilya with kids so much. He loves kids and his costume he wore was just absolutely brilliant. I loved having Shane see him around children and his reaction to them. I thought this was such a sweet little short story and definitely a good one to read.
I would highly recommend reading this short story because it is just the sweetest thing ever!

Fun lil stories (at times ni tan fun honestly) que la neta no aportan absolutamente nada, "My Dinner with Hayden" al menos nos mostraba esa dinamica extraña pero Halloween y Las Vegas solo existen por existir.

Me da gusto que esten disponibles en el sitio web de Rachel de forma gratuita pero no me sorprendería si en un futuro funcionan para una "reedicion deluxe" de HR con estos "snippets exclusivos". IDK.

Continuing to make my way through the Game Changers series, bonus content included, from Canadian author Rachel Reid and Halloween with Ilya was the next installment in this hockey romance.

Oh my heart - This short story was an absolute delight! From Ilya dressing up as Shane for Halloween to his interactions with the kids, everything about this was amazing. It shows a softer side to Rozanov and I was here for it.

All of this bonus content adds layers to an already beautiful story and leaves me craving more of Ilya and Shane. Definitely cannot wait to get to The Long Game now.

Yo necesito con todo mi corazón que Ilya y Shane tengan hijos, siento que sería una cúspide en mi vida como lectora, como fangirl de Heated Rivalry, como muchas cosas, esta escena me da mucha ternura, ya que es el primer Halloween de Ilya en ottawa, preparo toda su casa para que los niños fueran a pedir dulces y lo maravilloso que es él con todos ellos es… mi corazón no puede.

Ni hablar cuando se imaginó cuando él tuviera hijos pedirle a Shane que usarán disfraces familiares, estoy llorando!!!

Y aunque tenemos poco de Shane él también vio ese lado de Ilya, la cúspide es cuando él le pide un snicker jaja e Ilya le dice que no sea tacaño y se compre uno él pero obviamente Ilya Rozanov le cumple todo a Shane y hace nota mental de comprarle una caja cosa que sabemos que pasa porque en the long game se vuelve a hacer referencia a eso. Los amo mucho a ambos.

Ilya glanced up at his reflection in the giant mirror that hung in his foyer and laughed. His costume consisted of three things: a Shane Hollander Montreal jersey, a Montreal Voyageurs ball cap, and a bunch of dark freckles that Ilya had dotted onto his own face with a semi-permanent marker."

I laughed so hard when I read this! Ilya is so chill but also totally smitten. It's hilarious how people will think he's dressing up as his rival to make fun of him, but it's also sweet to think he might be showing how much he loves him, or just doing it for himself because he misses him 🥹

This was fine. Nothing actually happened and it provides no real addition to the story. Totally extraneous addition. The only thing it adds, would be our desire to see the two of them become dads. That is something that I sincerely wish for Ilya. But otherwise than that, this scene could have been thrown in a different book as a chapter and it would have been fine. Boo.

But otherwise, it was cute. The fact that Ilya dresses as Shane for Halloween is adorable! Especially since he painted on the freckles of Shane’s Ilya adores so much. Love it!
