This book says slow burn - well the slow is there but not the burn. Lots of things are repeated, a couple things happen that are impossible or things like they are on the floor and fall to the floor. I didn't know there was a book 1 - you must have to read the books in order - I assume book 1 introduces you to a lot of the characters that appear in book 2 - but without the back story you are at a loss as to who they are - even though they are mentioned in this book like you should know who they are. The story is good - the delivery isn't.
