Not quite what I was expecting, but a very good collection of linked essays / pieces.

I was glad to find this published in the US and at a local bookstore. I love Kerri Andrews’s work and she did a great job with this anthology. Each chapter surprised me, in some way, and I enjoyed each one.

A fascinating collection of personal essays written by women about their walking experiences. The different essays cover a wide range of topics about why the authors walk, what it means to them, and how walking affects their relationships with nature and writing. All are established writers in different aspects of poetry, fiction, essays, and journalism. I've been exploring this topic as I write a memoir based upon my late mother's dog-walking diaries - this collection of essays provides a thought-provoking context for her voice.
