Power was supposed to steady me. Instead, it sharpened the hunger.
St. Augustine’s never gives without taking—and after my admission, everyone wants their pound of flesh. The Board is circling my father’s vacant seat like it’s already claimed. The ruling families are rewriting alliances in real time. And the closer I get to what should’ve been mine by birthright, the more the institution pushes back.
Because they didn’t let me in to win. They let me in to break.
And the most dangerous men here still don’t hunt alone. I want them—too much, too often, too deep. And at St. Augustine’s, wanting is just another weakness for someone to exploit.
The higher we climb, the more brutal the games become… and this time the punishment won’t be subtle.
To take my father’s place, I’ll have to decide what I’m willing to sacrifice—my name, my conscience… or the men who refuse to let anyone else lay a hand on what they want.
Because craving them might be my weakness.
This is a dark reverse harem contemporary romance book 2 out of 3 in a brand new series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Eve Newton. You will come across TWs so please see inside for details.
Eve is a USA Today Bestselling Author with a specialty for steamy romance with strong female leads.
She lives in the UK, with her husband and five kids, so finding the time to write is short, but definitely sweet. Eve has a number of series, both completed and on the go and hopes to release some new and exciting projects, both paranormal and contemporary in the future, so stay tuned!
I still cannot get over the writing style and poor sentence structure. The 2 to 3 word sentences. “She reacts. We adjust.” “Too high. Too wide. Must have missed” “I oblige. I feint high. She flinches. Then corrects” like how could that not have been turned in to a complete sentence?! Then the next paragraph “no set up. No clean line. Just speed and bad attempt. Her hand shoots for my throat. I knock it aside” seriously, finish a full sentence. I may not finish because I’m that annoyed…
The whole plot isn’t even that interesting. She’s mafia, she already knew this, or at least knew her dad was. I don’t get why this was some big shock. It’s literally how the mafia works and why they have heirs.
DNF at 57%. I just couldn’t do it. All these random phone calls that give them some minor clues. Then they “plot the next move” and nothing happens. Just ughhh
Crave by Eve Newton was such an addictive read from start to finish. The tension, the chemistry, and the emotional chaos had me completely hooked the entire time. Every chapter pulled me deeper into the story, and I honestly didn’t want to put it down. 🖤✨
What stood out most to me was the intensity between the characters. Their connection felt raw, complicated, and full of emotion, which made every interaction so engaging to read. Eve Newton really knows how to create characters that are flawed, passionate, and impossible not to become attached to. 🔥
The darker atmosphere mixed with the romance and drama made this such a binge-worthy book. There were so many moments that had me shocked, frustrated, emotional, or completely obsessed. Even when the characters made questionable choices, it only made me more invested in seeing how everything would unfold. 👀📖
Overall, Crave was a captivating and emotional rollercoaster that kept me entertained the whole way through. If you enjoy dark romance with angst, chemistry, tension, and messy but addictive relationships, this is definitely one to add to your TBR. 💫
My-bloody-word was this book a jaw dropper from start to finish. Crave - the 2nd book in this series kicked off right where that startling cliff-hanger of book 1 ended. With a much needed punch up at the start of this book that unearthed some people who had their own agendas. As this book progressed more secrets and lies came to light. Family being a major factor especially in regards to Dervla. In the middle of it all was the dynamic between Dervla, Aiden, Cormac and Declan grew closer. Protective as they became a unit/family especially as the steam level rose too. All leading to another WTH cliff-hanger ending! This series is getting better and better. I'm enjoying every minute reading it.
A book that gives us so much spice just right off the bat!!! Who could ask for more!! Dervla:Is a woman with a baddie spirit, All of her guys have their own unique differences and things they bring to the table. Decals: our sweet and silent physco path with very many touch her 💀vibes! Conrmac- noting else meds to be said Aiden- he grew on me and now I need him in my pocket every day the growth along in this character motivates me to just keep going.
There seems to be a mystery brewing? Can Dervla and her guys uncover the mystery before it’s to late!!
Loving this series. This is the second book in the Kings of St.Augustine. I gobbled this story right up. Loving Dervla. Loving her personality. So this is a darker mafia RH with let’s just say hotness. So much hotness. Book sucked me right in all the way till the end. I am so counting down till book 3. One of the best storylines I have read. So need more. Definitely recommend.
Now this was one delicious spicy book! I couldn't put it down. I am honestly not okay after this, and I'm not regretting it. I wish I could read this for the first time again.
Dervla- is such a baddie. Sometimes she irritates me but that's okay. That is how I know I'll end up loving her longer than others.
Declan- Oh he is a sweet, silent psycho and I'm here for it. I love his love and care for the group.
Cormac- he is my absolute favorite MMC as of late. I would wear his name proudly.
Aidan- I didn't know how to feel about him at first but now I can't live without him. His growth was top tier in this. LOVE HIM!
Is it me or is there some kind of....mystery going on that is more than Dervla's dad's de@th? Something more is going on that I need to know about ASAP!
Also, I need to know about these other Dad's...like are they single? I can't just take one of the MMCs, they are Dervla's. (Unfortunately)
Anyways, I highly recommend this book and the author.
I craved this book so much, I squealed when it got on my kindle
This book is dark, mafia Rh - so if you are looking for daisies, buttercups and cute baby bunnies - go read something else. This book and this series is unapologetically dark, with off the charts spice and heat - so again if you want MMCs and fmc who talk for hours, a long steam build up and eventually they get down to business - then go find another author, this one does the darkness, the spiciness and the heart so well. The characters grow with each other, there's no misunderstandings because they're adults and they talk - and they support each other no matter if it's to unalive someone or to help clear up the mysteries of their lives... They're there for each other. What a great team!
Crikey O’Reilly, the twists and turns in this, the second book in the trilogy, are worse than a single track, national speed limit, hedge lined road down the back roads of the British countryside! (I can’t reliably say Irish as I’ve never driven in Ireland)They just keep coming! And when you think you’ve got a straight run where you can see everything coming, wooaahh here comes another corner. IYKYK! This is so good!! Stay up till 3am to finish it good. We have fights, intrigue, and more revelations than you can shake a stick at. Throw in some … bedroom moments and you’ve got this book. When you read, make sure you have a support friend/blanket/pillow/drink* on hand. You’ll need it.
*take your pick. Or have all. Whatever floats your boat.
This book did not disappoint. It is book 2 in the St. Augustine series. Full of kick ass by FMC and her 3 guys who have her back and her sides because everyone has to go through them to get to her. No one is getting to her. The book ends in a cliffhanger you knew was going to happen because it is Dervla and what else could happen. Dervla learns just who her grandfather is. Spoiler….he is “big”. Declan’s dad places a mysterious call to make sure Dec is on her at all times. The center of it all the open board seat and the hard drive and all the people who want them to fail at having both. I need book 3!

Oh first of make sure you have time to read as I couldn't put it down at all. Deliciously dark reverse harem and one I was looking out for. I know the author is excellend but this just confirms it yet again how versatile she is. I love Dervla so much even though she gets on my nerves sometimes but honestly those are the best. You come to love the characters with fault. The character growth and how the relationships develop chef's kiss. Won't tell much there as you gotta experience it. Can't wait for the next.
Crave by Eve Newton is the second installment in the trilogy full of tension just like book one, but it refuses to give you the comfort of resolution. Each betrayal deepens, questions multiply, and it leaves you second guessing who’s really in control. Dervla wants answers and her birthright. Declan, Aidan, and Cormac are lethal, protective and crave Dervla. If you enjoy a slow reveal, mystery, and layered intrigue mixed with spice then this book and Kings of St. Augustine’s trilogy is for you!
The twists don't stop in this second book of St. Aug's, but Dervla doesn't let that stop her. As more of Dervla's past comes to light, the more she adjusts and becomes an even more bad a$$. Her men, Aiden, Cormac, and Declan, adjust with her and become more obsessed. They will do anything for her, but still respect her decisions and adapt to fit her next move. The dynamics between them all are growing and the story is addicting and leaves you wanting the next book like yesterday!
This is book 2 of the series and it is deliciously dark, wicked and spicy! Dervla and her men are the epitome of unhinged. Dervla learns some unnerving information in this book, but as we've seen so far, she takes it on the chin with grace and violence. The guys surround her and let her know with actions that she's it. The story is great and well written. The spice is high enough that I really feared for my Kindle🌶🌶🥵🥵. If you like spicy violence, sexy, possessive, and unhinged towers of muscle, you'll love this book and series.
This series started off strong. Then the writing got a little cringy in the second book. A lot of one word sentences. Every time the author described something, it turned into one word sentences (ex: Important. Crucial. Life-changing.). That might not bother people, but it was done so often that it stopped sounding like normal English and started to get cringey. The plot was good, but I don’t think I’ll read the last book.
Dervla story shows lots of growth with a strong personality and men that show support and respect her. This book sucked me in the mysteries that are in the background makes you die to know more. I love the world created and what each character brings to the table. There is so much more I want to know and can't wait to find it. Love everything about this series and highly recommend diving in.
So, this one picked up without missing a beat. And the action is non-stop from there. The heat is off the charts. Oh, and the secrets? Just wow. Dervla realizes that she really was living a totally different life than her father and had no clue, and now that she's finding out? Zero time to process really....too many people to take down. This story is getting good
I made the mistake of starting this series after reading one of the author’s other series. Her writing style is the same in every series I’ve read of hers.
I really enjoyed the first book of this series & I may come back around to finishing this series but the writing style is so stilted & no one talks like that in real life.
Oh wow, Eve does it again! This is book two, and I love how effortlessly the story flows from the first to the second. The characters are bold and unapologetic, with so much still unfolding, and the pacing is spot on! There’s still more to come, and I can’t wait!
In book 2 of Kings of St. Augustine, Dervla and her possessive men are learning who they can trust, and those that need to stop breathing. More of her father’s secrets will come out of hiding.
Crave is… Spicy RH Multiple POV Touch her/him and ☠️
Wow! If you love a strong, bada$$ FMC, MC’s who exude “look at her and d!e” vibes, murder and mayhem then this book is for you! I was engaged from start to finish!
