Benjamin Bookmark: The Secret Life of Bookmarks
Mark your pages! In this brand-new series, opinionated and talkative books complicate the life of a career-minded bookmark who just won't stay put.
"Lively writing, charming illustrations, and a relatable, story-loving bookmark combine in a treat for young readers." — Kirkus Reviews
Bookmarks are supposed to stay in place, right? That's like their one job! But rookie bookmark Benjamin is discovering that staying put can be surprisingly tricky. Fresh from class and eager to impress, he's assigned to the grumpy Tide Pools book and determined to follow the First Rule of bookmarking. Instead, he finds himself far from the library — and his book!
How does a bookmark find his place when he's completely lost it?
Benjamin's about to discover his job isn't lying around all day listening to stories!
The Secret Life of Bookmarks launches the Benjamin Bookmark series, playful chapter-book adventures designed especially for readers ages 6-9 who are ready for longer stories, imaginative worlds, and quirky humor.
Each story is a new work assignment for Benjamin — a different book with a personality all its own — and a new challenge.
He's determined to do his job right, but staying in place isn't always as easy as it sounds!
Meet a well-meaning, resilient, and delightfully career-minded young bookmark.

May 30, 2026As a child I believed my toys came to life at night, so to read about a cheeky bookmark that does just that is a delight!
Benjamin’s adventures are fun to read with a just the right amount of suspense at the end of a chapter to keep you reading on.
It’s funny, has a good pace and I’m looking forward to sharing Benjamin Bookmark with my nieces.
