Written by Natsukawa Hozumi with cover illustration by Takamura Fumi - this light novel was originally serialised online at estar.jp and berrys-cafe.jp before being published commercially by Starts Publishing.

(Character names are family name first, then first name.)

Sakura Saku, the female lead has always thought of romantic relationships as a luxury and has told a white lie of having a boyfriend but they were long distance. She doesn't have one.

It definitely made it easier for her at work or with acquaintances to turn down group blind dating parties (goukon) since she has a part-time job on top of her full-time work during the day. [Her full-time workplace is completely informed about this.]

She is paired with a new addition to the company, Yuuki Souma - someone who had worked at the American branch but has put up an ice sheet between himself and everyone else LOL Saku compares dealing with his behaviour with ice-climbing.

The first half of the book feels perfect though the conflict part is where it felt clunky though would make a lot sense by the end of the book.

Though I suppose there is the theme of 'rumours' and whether there's any truth in it that occurs throughout the novel.

It is interesting that Souma isn't written to the usual 'swoop in and saves her' which sets him apart, I like that.

This is also a closed-door romance. Has an epilogue and an extra short story that are exclusive to the published copy over the web serialisation. The extra short story is stinking cute TWT Love it!!!

Read it in a single day - really enjoyed this!
