This anthology is made up of 9 stories and I wasn't familiar with a single author in it. The great thing about anthologies though is that they give an opportunity to explore authors.
Overall this was a decent collection and I enjoyed the combination of spice and magic.

It’s a little harder than I expected to review a book of short stories. I would say overall most are a four star experience.
As a collection they do fit nicely together. The spice is the theme that unifies them. You can expect a wide variety of settings and tones. Some of the stories left me wanting more because they were so good and other had me wanting more because they felt incomplete. In particular I really liked Book Lover, Seven Minutes, and Scream My Love.
If you want little hot bites of tasty spice, this book delivers.

From gods and demons to fae and enchanted objects, each story brings something distinct to the collection, while still maintaining a strong emotional throughline - every story is not just spicy, but rooted in connection and desire.
“Book Lover” is a standout opener, pulling the reader in immediately with its fast pace and genuinely unique concept. There’s something both haunting and intensely intimate about the premise, and it sets the tone for the anthology beautifully.
“Revel in Red” brings a sassy, confident voice and a fresh mythic concept. The writing has a smart, slightly playful edge, with a slow simmer that builds nicely beneath the surface.
“These Burning Desires” offers strong character dynamics and engaging banter, with a satisfying emotional arc as the protagonist learns to embrace both her power and her right to happiness.
“Sensual Magic” shines through voice and tension—Jane’s perspective is compelling, and the pull toward Volkan is deliciously dangerous in the best way.
“Seven Minutes” leans into intensity, with a commanding male lead and a particularly memorable, high-heat scene that doesn’t lose sight of the emotional stakes.
“When the Trees Know Your Name” has a more literary tone, with lush language and a strong sense of atmosphere. Elowen’s journey toward belonging, and the way comfort and desire intertwine, gives the story a dreamy, almost fairy-tale quality.
“Fate So Sweet and Red” moves quickly but with confidence, delivering a satisfying arc in a short space. The naming choices and thematic layering add a thoughtful touch, and it’s especially rewarding to see the heroine stand her ground against a god.
“Queen’s Rite” The MMC’s perspective is sharp and clearly defined. The story blends ritual, sensation, and shared experience in a very explicit story.
“Scream My Love” opens with a classic, almost fairy-tale cadence before unfolding into something more unusual and emotionally resonant. The central dynamic is especially compelling, with a heroine who tries to make herself smaller, and a love interest who sees her fully and chooses her anyway.
Across the anthology, there’s an interesting variety in how magic is distributed—some stories center male or shared magical power, while in others it’s the women that are the only magical ones, creating a subtle but engaging contrast from story to story.
Overall, Sensual Magic delivers a diverse and imaginative collection that avoids feeling repetitive or trope-heavy. The stories are undeniably hot, but they’re also grounded in the joining of hearts. HEAs are guaranteed, so even though some stories can have some serious themes, the overall effect is heart-warming (other parts will get warm too!)

3.75 stars. There were some really fantastic stories and some that read more like fan fiction. I liked the flow of the stories with spreading out monsters, humans, and something in between. I also enjoyed the variety in the stories, from fairytale retellings to original stories. I did struggle a bit with jumping from a very detailed and intricate story into a very basic, surficial one, so i did get a little bit of plot whiplash.

Sensual Magic was a fun little anthology of short, spicy romantasy stories. There are 9 short stories, and I enjoyed about half of them. Some were not great at all. My favorite was Revel in Red, followed by Seven Minutes. If you’re in the mood for short and spicy, this is a good pick.
