There was no warning that it has religious content. Another author who seems to think everyone is a Christian and that their Bible will be relevant for the reader, without even a "here's how I fit this with my religion." I get how she would have the illusion that everyone is Christian from where she lives, but it's a constant hassle for me, and a reminder of the oppressive religion that colonized my ancestors and suppressed/put our religion mostly out of my reach.
It filled pages with a refrain of the method template after every section, so I had to scroll past that a few times after digesting it the first time.
But I do enjoy themes, and I can see how this method could work. I've done some of this already. Coloring your time period and routines with a theme can make them more exciting and help you get creative. I'm already familiar with seasonal living as that's a focus of my ancestral culture/religion, and I love living by nature's rhythms.
My life is a bit of a mess at the moment, and the thought of taking baby steps into creating themes (day by day, weekly, etc.) gives me some hope that I can regain some control over my life rather than simply floating from one unpleasant or frustrating moment or situation to the next. I am excited to get started on this journey - so much so that I’m waiting on the physical copy of this book and have signed up for Short’s website, so that I will have printable templates. :)
